As the train pulled into the Goldenrod Station he stretched as he stood up. Letting the other passengers get off the train before he did he ducked under the doorway and put his hand over his mouth as he yawned. He was so relaxed after coming back from Verdanturf but at the same time he was fired up over the impending Gym Battle. He thought that he was fairly ready to handle whatever any gym would be able to throw at him. He really wanted to head straight to Azalea and check things out. Whether or not the gym leader was there or not was a totally different thing. He just wanted to see, chuckling to himself he knew that he was lying thinking he only wanted to see the gym leader. ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════╗ With a quick, just to be safe, trip to the Pokemon Center and mart before he headed south from Goldenrod he overheard two girls talking about Goldenrod’s Leader Whitney. Apparently she was a talented young gym leader who was exceptionally beautiful and skilled as a trainer. Of all of the gym leaders in Johto he was looking forward to meeting her the most. He enjoyed talking trash to his opponents but he was looking forward to battling another prodigious trainer. They girls talking about how cute she was and how jealous of her they were reminded him of how people talked about him in the JR circuits. He knew that Goldenrod was the third gym in the Johto region which was just another reason to get through the Azalea gym as quick as possible before he would be able to meet this Whitney. The more he thought about it the more he thought that last battle was a little to close for comfort for him. It had been the first time in a while he used Lucario but he was happy there was no issues with his Fighting Type. Upon arriving at the Pokemon Center Gio noticed a single Rare Candy on the ground it was a pleasant surprise for a bittersweet moment. As soon as he walked in he peeled through his PC there had to be a Steel Type or a good Pokemon he hadn't used in awhile. His Totodile, Pawniard and Magnemite to name a few but none that really stood out to him right away so he went over to the counter and delivered his Pokemon to Nurse Joy. "You really do need to be more careful Giovanni, your Pokemon shouldn't take this much damage"
Gio chuckled "Sorry Nurse Joy, Whitney was abit rough towards the end there"
"That's unacceptable, you should know when your Pokemon have had enough" the Chansey returned with Gio's Pokemon "Thank you Giovanni, be careful and please come again" that was the line that Gio didn't really like. It was a terrible thing to say in a hospital but they always said it anyway

Gio decided to stop back at the PC to grab a Pokemon out. The one he chose was his Magnemite and he placed it on his belt removing Lucario's Ball. After all Lucario never used his Ball so it was pretty much taking up a spot on his belt anyway. It was one of the few ways he could get away with having more than six Pokemon in his Party. Giovanni just had to make real sure he didn't use Lucario during the time the Fighting Types Ball was not there. It could very well get him disqualified.
After leaving the Pokemon Center he thought about going and giving Morty a try, but he knew he could use somemore training and he hadn't really been to Kalos in a long time. He had never even challenged a Gym there. Quickly he made his way to the train station and boarded the next train to Kalos. Unsure of what to expect there.

“Well she is the gym leader, and she’s one of the tougher ones in Johto too,” the girl was trying to cheer him up as she pat him on the shoulder.
If Whitney was strong enough to win multiple battles that either meant that this guy sucked pretty badly or she was really strong. He hoped that it was the latter though. Toru grinned and balled his hand into a fist as he thought about taking her down. He knew that this one would be a real test of his power, and he was looking forward to the day when he could come back and enter her gym with the intent of proving his skills. There was no way that he was going to let her push him the same way that Bugsy did. It would be a total victory this time, just as soon as this line moved along.

Kalos was a land of style and substance, the training there was good and the Pokemon were tough. He felt like with the defeat of Bugsy he would take the opportunity to pump up his style a level while he was looking for somewhere to train his Pokemon. He started to think of a longer term strategy for his team than capturing Pokemon all willy nilly, he needed to start developing a little more of a strategy. He had a small notebook he held in the inside pocket of his jacket where he planned his attacks. He didn't expect her to have that type of ability on a normal type Pokemon. All in all it was a pretty impressive attack, and he knew now just what type of trainer he was up against, things were much more difficult now.

Whitney found it rather interesting that Toru only grew more excited with that crushing KO. Personally if the tables were turned, Whitney would have been pissed, but Toru was just getting excited about the challenge Whitney posed. "No need to ask for pardon, feel free to get as excited as you want~ Gym battles are supposed to be that way after all." Whitney insisted, happy to hear him admit she was strong, though when he insisted that he wouldn't be caught off guard again, Whitney flashed a smug grin. "Good, because if the rest of the battle was gonna be that easy, I'd get bored." Whitney winked and stuck out a tiny bit of her tongue in a cute taunting manner. Toru's next pokemon appeared to be a mawile, a pokemon that Whitney approved of, though she was somewhat disappointed it wasn't a mega. The pink was so much more appealing than the normal ugly mustard yellow it came with. This mawile was holding an item though, some sort of sash by the looks of it. No matter what, hold items were bad news, so her next move was obvious. "Use Knock Off Lickitung!" She commanded, relieving Tsukishima of her Choice Band.
