[Maintenance - Yesenia]Yesenia laughed. "All the people I know are just now taking this class. Lucky you!" She watched as intently as before as Zin took apart the gear as well. At the mention of gear breaking, Yesenia frowned. "Yeah, that'd blow. Like, a lot." Her face brightened quickly, however. "Hey, you decide where you're going to go after graduation?" She tinkered with the gear as she spoke.

[Maintenance]"I'm not sure..." Zin replied, caught off guard by the question. "Everyone seems to want to get into the Military Police, and it'd be nice to live in the inner walls, but it's pretty hard to get into... I haven't thought about it much, I guess it'll depend on where my friends want to go, haha," she admitted with a grin. "Do you know where you wanna go after you graduate?" she asked Yesenia.

[Maintenance - Yesenia]Yesenia grinned. "The MP sounds kinda boring. I'm thinking the Scouting Legion or Garrison, but I'll probably just end up going where Malia does." Was that screw supposed to go there? Eh, probably. "We're pretty similar in that regard, pig tails."

[Blades - Lillian Carter]Lillian felt her stomach curl a bit, watching as the pairs of trainee's got together and brandished their blades. She took a deep breath and eyed the sharp blades... she was going to get herself killed. She was either going to cut herself with her own pair, or be driven through by someone else. She knew that possibility was there. Sure, she knew she had to have the mentality needed to protect and enforce, having entered the military on her own accord.. but that didn't stop her from that sort of thought. It didn't help she was paired with someone she didn't know. Someone seeming to find her before she could find him. "Y.. yes. Ok. Right." She grabbed her pair, hesitantly, not quite sure what to make of them. Until now, she hadn't really held onto a weapon before; Books thrown at people didn't count. "Would you happen to know how we should begin? I can throw a punch of needed, I'm not that keen on sword fighting .. " She shook her head. Yea, she was nervous.. she knew this was bad.

[Blades]
"Ah, ya entiendo," Martino muttered as he watched his partner's performance with the lightweight weapons. Unfortunately, he wasn't paying so much to the example drawn by the blades, but by the flex and twist of muscle under skin. His artist eyes found him transfixed and, when he snapped his attention to get another good idea of what was going on, he laid eyes dead set on a male.
His left hand tingled. Oh, how he wanted to draw! But the lack of a drawing pad and pencil left his stranded. Instead, he mimicked Amalia to the best of his ability before he dropped his arms to his sides with a sigh.
"Agh, my arms feel numb..." he sighed to himself. Tired of his exercise, he tried to persuade his partner to the next by saying, "Hey, want to give these a repair now?"

[Blades > Maintenance - Amalia]Pausing, Amalia wiped the accumulated sweat from her brow. She turned to Martino and shrugged. "Sure." She walked over to the work benches before setting one of the blades down. With her now free hand, she picked up a whetstone and began to sharpen the blade she still held.

[ Blades ] -> [ Maintenance ]Even if the other said nothing bladed he gave a nod in understanding. It wasn't hard to imagine play stick fighting; even he'd done that a time or two in his youth with his siblings and even best friend. Not with any regularity of course, his path had originally been a much different intended one. Their practicing together now while a bit strange at first helped as much as Chris hated to admit it. When Hwan mentioned his family business some of the hard edges the male was exhibiting faltered. "We'll be alright, we had to sell the business. One horse isn't enough, and our family can't afford to buy more. The carriage business was good while it lasted. I miss my sister in law granted..she died recently." He added a bit flatly before applying his hip twist into a few more swings having to keep up their practice until it was at least satisfactory. "Shall we move on?" He asked a bit out of breath, but no less having kept up with the situation. Wiping his brow off, he sheathed his swords offering a small hint of a smile to the other. "Also, was that also your brother I saw earlier? Do you have any other siblings?" Chris inquired of the other trainee as the two walked away from the practice site over to the maintenance gear bench to work with the vertical maneuver gear in an entirely different fashion than previous. Hearing his question on music Chris gave the other a look of consideration before nodding. "Yes I suppose so, mostly of the wood wind variety..why do you ask?" He stopped, hovering over one of the rectangular objects before scooping up documentation about them and reading over carefully what little was provided before glancing back at the other trainee. At least he'd stopped talking about the Survey team..it was dangerous fighting titans so closely. Humans were after-all brittle. Even if he had to fight one some day, Chris couldn't imagine that being his first course of action for enlistment. Perhaps the Military Police was a real possibility..if he applied himself. The Garrison in his mind was like the middle ground. Neither as extreme as the other, but still the options turned in his mind as he began taking apart the gear still speaking with the other despite his inward thinking. Yamashii Sorry i didnt reply sooner!

[Blades] ---> [Maintenance] Going through his movements, he paused when she pointed out his mis-step. He bit his lip, moving back and trying to redo it... messing up again. He sighed, watching her go through the step. "Oh!... I think I got it now.." He explained as he redid his steps with a light grin. After completing the step he stood tall, "Thank you, Larisa." He said, as he stretched. "Let's work on the next part of the lesson" He added as he moved over to where they were shown how to maintain their gear. He looked into one of the boxes, handing Larisa her cleaning supplies then starting on tending to his gear.

Larisa brightened, a proud smile spreading across her face. So she had done it right, and he'd even thanked her! Maybe she wasn't so bad at this after all! "I'm glad I could help! I guess I, um, at least have a good memory, huh? Even if I have some work to do on the rest." When he suggested moving on, she nodded eagerly, hoping to put that memory to even more use. She was very very interested in learning more about maintaining the 3d maneuver gear, since she intended to put hers to quite a bit of use in the future and would need to make sure it didn't suffer for it.
While she worked at learning all the different pieces, she stole another glance back over at Lip, considering.. "Ahh, by the way, about the swords? You're, um, you're really good at them, you know? Have you worked with them before?"

[Maintenance]Lip fiddled with his gear, focusing on cleaning it efficiently. He looked over to Larisa as she spoke to him, "Oh... I have a wooden sword at home... so other than the weight difference... im pretty proficient. " He explained, dropping part of his gear. Grumbling as he picked it up and inspected it, making sure it didn't break. Sighs when it did then fixing it as the instructor had shown earlier. He looked around for his friend, sighing then looking back at his gear as he cleaned it.

She could see that he was surprised that she only attacked him once and she was glad that he did not comment on it out loud beyond the words he spoke. The young woman noticed the looks that she received during the training and how some of the instructors made bets who would make it and who would not. She was quite sure she was on the top of the list of those who would flunk out. It was not like she was half assing all the things she was doing, she was trying her hardest, but there was also so much more she could do. She could train more, run to build up her stamina, do pushups and pull ups to build up her strength, and continue to eat thousands upon thousands of calories. By the time her two years are done here, she will be a whole new woman, she will no longer be the weak and pathetic Hazel Snow.
There were truth to his words, she nodded her head sadly, “Yeah, although there could be losses of limbs, but you are probably right. So I guess I will be the medic that treats hang overs huh?” She gave him a weak smile at this, the idea was not appealing to her in the least. She really hated drunks.
“Now this is fascinating.” She stared at the intricate parts of the gear, in a sense it was like the human body. Each part had a role to play in making the entire thing function as a whole. Slowly she began to check for any anomalies. Of course there were problems with the gear, the whole point of the lesson was to find them, fix them, and then clean the gear to allow for a better performance. With her skilled hands she felt along the gear, still not yet comfortable with what felt normal. With a gasp and a sharp slice of pain, Hazel found a sharp loose piece in the gear. She stuck her bleeding finger in her mouth and stared at the gear. Now… what did the instructor say again for a malfunction like this? Slowly she took apart that mechanism and was able to click the loose piece back into place. She then returned the mechanism back to the rightful place and smiled. Her finger still throbbed, but she had accomplished something. With her other hand, she felt around the gear again, but nothing stood out to her.
It was now time to clean her gear. The work was almost meditative. She barely spoke as she concentrated on the task at hand. She was lost in the process, and finally when the gear appeared clean and functional, did she look up at her partner. When she remembered this was a team project she gave a slight blush, she did not mean to ignore him or continue off on her own cleaning without saying a word, she was just drawn in and could not seem to remove herself until it was complete. “Um, how are we supposed to help each other here? Do we check each other’s gear when we have finished to see if anything is wrong or if it is clean?”

[Maintenance]Zinnia flashed a grin at Yesenia before choosing a piece of equipment to try repairing. This was where her prior knowledge ran out, so she fiddled with the object, merely guessing at what she was supposed to do. "No matter where we go, we'll be doing good things," she said brightly. "We'll bring hope to everyone." She smiled, eyes on her hands, and apparently unaware of how cheesy she sounded.

He nodded his head and followed after her; chartreuse eyes gliding between the myriad of objects laid out on the repair table and within the bin provided. He was very good with his hands, so making repairs was a snap for him. Extending a hand into the container, he withdrew a number of parts, and got to work repairing the blade and its handle. In a matter of time, he had managed to produce the weapon good as new. He then began sharpening it, the last cherry on top of his good work.

[Maintenance - Amalia]Satisfied with the sharpness of the blades, she began to fiddle with the 3DMG as instructed. Her eyes drifted from part to part, seeing how they worked together.
