Kyrie watched for a response from Andarien, but there didn't see to be any, even at the sound of his mother calling his name. She knelt next to Lin and put one hand on her shoulder.

"Lin," she said quietly, "do you mind if I check him out?"

She was worried about him. He hadn't been doing well since the day Earendil had disappeared, and things had been getting steadily worse since then.

Kyrie nodded and knelt next to Andarien. She put two fingers to his neck and felt his pulse, putting two fingers to her own neck as well to compare the two. Then she pulled his goggles up carefully and looked into his eyes. His pupils were tiny, and didn't change when she tilted his face towards the light.

"He's in deep shock," she told Lin, rising again. "I need to get some herbs from my bag for him. I left it at Tsara's house though. I'll be back quickly. In the meantime, see what you can do about getting him warm. He needs his blood circulating better or he's going to pass out completely."

Kyrie stepped back and Uruloki appeared next to her, and she climbed up onto his back and the two of them flew out the window, the same way they'd arrived.

Meanwhile, the soldiers who had continued to fight for the General had been subdued by those who had chosen to fight for Mari, and they'd been left tied in the center of the room with a few soldiers to watch over them. Mari had been talking with Mathias and Chesnet, and then with others of the group. Now, Mari headed over to Lin, Miyuki and Andarien.

"How are you all doing?" she asked them quietly, her dark eyes somber. "Any injuries?"

Mari nodded slowly. "I see." She sighed. "We need to decide what to do next. We have some soldiers on our side but a lot of them are too young to remember me or my family, especially the ones stationed in the palace, I'm told. We need to keep going. Secure the palace. Rescue Earendil."

She looked at Lin quietly. "Do you want us to wait until Andarien's been taken care of?"

Andarien's hands were loose, and once Miyuki unclasped them his knees were no trouble to pry away from his chest. He didn't react to any of it.

Mari nodded. "All right. We'll be over here, waiting for you." She smiled gently. "There's good news, too. Cael is Dae'er and Arphenion's son, and he's always known it, and they've finally met - and not only that but he's also Lancaeriel's husband, reborn. He's got his memories back, and they've been reunited."

She put one hand on Lin's shoulder and gave it a light squeeze. "Take heart. This day will end well for all of us, I'm certain of it."

Mari gave Lin's shoulder another squeeze, and then she headed off to speak with the soldiers who had proven themselves loyal to her rather than the General.

It was not long before Kyrie returned, only about a quarter hour, and the moment her feet were on the floor she ran towards the Aldrich family as fast as she could.

Andarien was warmer by this time and was responding slightly, just enough to continue to stroke Yasu's head and body repeatedly. Still, it was something.

Kyrie nodded. "Good. That's something, at least." She watched Andarien pet Yasu for a moment, then knelt next to him and felt his pulse again. He didn't react to her presence or her touch, but Kyrie was smiling when she lowered her hand again.

"He's better," she told Lin and Miyuki, setting her bag on the floor and rummaging through it. "Much better. Good thinking, getting Yasu out. Once he's more awake, I suggest having his own Pokemon out if he managed to take them with him. They'll do more good for him than anything else."

She pulled out a flask and uncapped it, then put it to Andarien's lips and tipped a bit of the liquid into the boy's mouth.
