It seemed like amazing luck but Spirit's attack actually hit and a Pidgey went down. "Yes, we got one!" Cara shouted, then saw how far they had to go. "We better keep it up though, we've got a way to go." She saw that Cadence had almost reached the balloons and she wanted to catch up, badly. Spirit nodded and fired another signal beam at the offending birds, she wanted this ordeal to be over with soon too.

Retrospect, challenging the rest of the flock was a pretty poor idea. Another Pidgey came in, this time aiming for the obviously scarier Mightyena. A sharp peck across the nose halted their progress, Korou shaking her head wildly.

Emboldened by the initial success, the pidgey turned for a second fly over, this time raking its talon's across Korou's cheek.
The Mightyena wheeled wildly, snapping at the vexing bird. She had gotten too cocky too early. These were harder to hit than she had anticipated.

The attack missed and Spirit was struck. Cara caught her pokemon and decided to try and dodge through the crowd again. "Let's try this again shall we?" She cradled Spirit close to her as she began the task of moving around people and pokemon in chaos again.

Another swing of her bag sent a pidgey flying backwards and crashing to the deck, it was quickly back in the air though, and all the more angry for her daring to attack it.

Korou's fangs struck true this time, grabbing a mouthful of tail feathers. The Pidgey let out a screech and veered away, flapping to right itself after the unexpected hit.
Determined to make it past this flock without anymore interruptions, Korou plowed forward, trying to clear the way for her trainer.

((If I was using my D&D dice, I'd still be trying for my first success. biggrin I've yet to get a set that like me~))

Dodging worked! Cara was happy that they had made it around another cluster of Pidgey but they still had two more to go. She took a deep breath and decided to try going around and dodging again. "Let's try to dodge this group too..." Spirit chirped back, she was happy to be carried by Cara, those Pidgey had really sharp beaks and she was not fond of them at all.

So much for determination.
Yusaki stalled as a Pidgey grabbed her hair with its talons, wings beating against her head. She waved her arms to shoo it away desperately.
Korou turned and growled, but didn't lunge at this one for fear of knocking her trainer over.

Cadence lifted Amaryllis into her arms and made a run for it as another pidgey swooped towards them. If only they could make it the last few feet!
Darting side to side around swooping pidgeys the young woman finally was close enough to make a last ditch dash towards the balloons. "Look out!" she hollered in case there was anyone in the way.

Yusaki was not nearly as accurate as Korou, and the Pidgey circled her head with ease, avoiding her flailing arms.
Knowing the longer they stayed still the easier a target they would be, Korou jumped up, placing her paws on Yusaki's shoulders and snapped at the bird.

Korou's snap whiffed past the Pidgey, and the weight change sent Yusaki crashing to the ground with Korou pinning her.
The Pidgey proceeded to harass them further, pulling on Korou's ears and scrabbling at Yusaki's arms that had raised up to shield her while falling.

Korou had regained her footing, though Yusaki remained pinned underneath her. It was better that way, since the Pidgey shifted its attention to the more accessible Mightyena.

The Pidgey landed a particularly sharp peck just at the corner of Korou's eye, and the Mightyena gave a loud yelp.

Korou was down for the count, shielding her eye from further attack. She mentally cursed, wondering why this particular Pidgey was so difficult to shake off.

The dodge failed and they were hit, or at least Cara was. One of the Pidgey had spotted her and nailed her in the head with a peck attack. "Ow ow ow ow ow!" She said as she crouched down low. "Stinking birds..." She then stood back up when the bloody bird had backed off. "Guess we battle again..." It was then she saw Cadence using her bag and she got an idea. She let Spirit go and pulled out a frying pan from the side of her pack. "This oughta help." Spirit gave her a look that said 'Are you serious?' And Cara responded, "What? My hands hurt and while under normal circumstances I wouldn't do this...this is drastic." Spirit rolled her eyes and went back to the offending Pidgey, blasting a Dragonbreath attack at them as they came and Cara readied the frying pan.
