The ex-knight stayed quiet, eyes focusing unwaveringly on her face as she stood there awkwardly, fumbling through the greetings she'd committed to memory. Mostly, though, he was just watching as the blood rose in her cheeks more and more with each passing second. eyes only making her look more red in the face. He didn't even bother with a nod of acknowledgement as she confirmed his words, speculating her while his rage still fumed along the perimeters of his mind. So she had some family, one other person at the very least. "Four hundred ninety-six hours isn't that long, no. Approximately three weeks,"Luka agreed, rising into a sitting position. Finishing his words as he rose to his feet, the male looked away from the other occupant in the room for only a moment or two. Then he was walking around the bed, towards her, startling harsh gaze pinned to her again as he approached her in what seemed like an angry stalk, though really it was simply how he walked when not in suit.
Stopping about a foot away from her, he realized just how petite she was compared to his massive frame. He had noticed her eying his collar just a few moments ago, and decided to return the favor. Probably because he wasn't in a particularly friendly mood, even if it was a non-violent one. He seemed to glower down at her, shadow falling over her as he examined her from a closer anger. Reaching out with his unscarred hand, Luka paused when the purple glow began to crawl around beneath his skin nearest to her, watching as a red glimmer imitated it from under her skin. They sparked, colliding between their bodies that erupted into a small purple flame. After a moment they jumped away again, purple leaping towards Annabel and disappearing with a painless zap against her skin, red following suit and fading out of existence against the soldier's skin.
The vampire dropped his hand, tucking both of them in his pockets as he leaned back slightly. "Luka," he replied, unnoticeably intrigued. What kind of powers did this female possess? Such a thing had never happened before between him and another creature. The anger in his mind slowly ebbed away under the influence of the woman before him.

Annabel tilited her head in confusion when Luka gave the amount of hours he had been in the room, and how many weeks that added to, rather than simply giving the amont of weeks, or days, which was what she had expected in the first place. The young neko nodded slightly at his reply after getting over her initial confusion and watched as the male made his way from the bed and towards her. Annabel held back the urge to step back and stood her ground as the male closed in on her, it was at that moment that she realized just how much bigger than her the vampire was. He was easily a good foot, almost two feet, taller than her. Ivory ears began to lay flat against her ebony locks as Annabel shifted uncomfortably under the raven haired males stare, not sure exactly what he was doing…or what she was doing for that matter. The way that his smoky grey eyes bore into her made the neko feel as if she were the one being looked over for purchase rather than the other way around.
Crimson eyes shifted from the male towering over her and to the hand that was moving towards her. The ebony haired neko was surprised when a spark, literally, jumped between them and flinched in surprise as the purple light made contact with her skin. What in the world had just happened? The female wasn’t allowed much time to dwell on the it as the vampire gave his name, “Um. Well Luka, it’s a..a pleasure to meet you.” She answered, wondering if it had just been her seeing things when the light sparked between them. Never had anything like that happened when the neko came in contact with someone else, then again she hadn’t exactly been around creatures outside the family she and Kaoru had been with. Luka didn’t give any sign that he had seen what had happened, perhaps he had been the one to cause the spark somehow. Managing to tap into an ability he had some way or another?
Pushing the thoughts from her mind, Annabel realized just how close the vampire was and the blush once again rose to her face, her crimson orbs darting to the floor, “Do you mind stepping back a bit?” she requested, glad that she hadn’t completely fumbled over her words, for once around the male. As Luka moved away from her and back towards the bed the neko gave a soft sigh of relief and took a moment to calm herself down before mustering the courage to ask Luka if he knew what had just occurred between them. “Do…uh, do you um know?” Annabel paused for a moment to compose herself and looked up from the ground and at the vampire, “Do you know w-what just happened?” So much for not fumbling over her own words around him.

Ignoring and disregarding the neko's confusion, Luka did as she requested and stepped back until he was halfway between her and the bed. Her pulse had skyrocketed, the sound of it quietly thundering in his ears uncontrollably. He watched her grow more flustered, after her surprised reaction faded away. Her face had darkened and she stuttered over her words as she calmed herself, the quiet sigh signaling that she was back under control, her hammering heart slowly returning to a slower, more natural pace. As it did, he wondered if it had hurt her on some level, or if she had thought something else was going to happen, as though the small flicker would set her aflame. It would be amusing on some level if she had been thinking along those lines, though he doubted she was quite as dramatic as that. The man himself did not have such easily susceptible reactions to anything, but when he did, it was usually never a good thing.
Casting aside his own thoughts, the vampire remained silent as Annabel collected herself before speaking. They were more jumbled than when she'd started, crimson irises moving from him to the floor and back. He took a moment to decide how to answer her. No, he did not know what just happened, but he had a hunch. It had been an electrical reaction--the ex-soldier had heard theories about being a descendant of a god that possessed the ability to control thunder and lightning, which he deemed untrue and irrelevant--and things often collided before melding, as the distinct colors had shot up and lashed out, before sliding past each other to the other body. If they had simply clashed, Luka would say that they had negative reactions to each other. So he began to guess what she was capable of; even aside from that, what did such a reaction even mean. If he thought about it, he had felt a slight imbalance for a moment, the presence of something foreign minutely shocking his senses before the reaction dispersed. Shaking his head, "I do not. Tell me, Annabel, what sort of gifts do you possess?"He inquired, words presented with something malicious sounding roaming around behind them. Distantly he considered how long this woman would stay here, and how long he would tolerate her presence in the same room as him. He didn't dare even think about this room as his, for it was revolting to have dropped down to this disgraceful level in such a place.

A thoughtful look came across the small nekos face as she kept her gaze on Luka, she didn’t mention the dizzy wave that came over her when that spark made contact with her. Nor was she going to mention it. He didn’t seem at all affected by it, it was probably just her mind playing tricks on her anyways. A small frown replaced the thoughtful look on Annabel's face when the vampire informed her that he was as clueless as she was as to what the spark meant. Once again the nekos head tilted in confusion as Luka spoke. Gifts? He wanted to know what kind of ability she had? What did that have to do with what had just occurred? "I um..I can ma-manipulate fire." What in the world was going on with her today? Sure Annabel could be a shy stuttering mess at times, but this was a new level of it. She silently scolded herself for choosing this moment to be a nervous mess. This was just about the worse time to let her shy nature take over. It only upset her more that she didn't know why it was happening now.The ebony haired woman refused to consider the reason for it was that she was more than a little intimidated by the male before her. The neko told herself that it would go away once she got back to Kaoru, the lavender eyed female had a knack for calming her sister at times like this.
"Wh-why do you ask?" Did he think that her ability had something to do with the spark? Had it tapped into his when he tried to touch her causing the spark? Pushing the train of thought aside for the moment Annabel took a moment to silently consider the raven haired male. He was very quiet. The neko had picked up on it right away, noticing that he spoke only when spoken to and spoke no more than the answer required of him. He was a protector, not that she needed protecting but, it could be a plus if anything were to happen. So far he didn't seem too bad, other than appearing to just be a dark brooding kind of person. His seemingly dark personality the crimson eyed woman could get past, she was sure that he wasn't all dark and gloomy. He just needed some time to get used to a person first. Or at least she hoped so. The thing that had Annabel on the fence was the chain; she wasn't sure if it had something to do with the sword and shield charms, or if it had something to do with why he was (more or less) recently brought to the shop.
Annabel lifted a hand to her temple when she began to feel dizzy again, closing her eyes the neko waited for the feeling to pass. What had that damn spark done to her? Nothing like that had ever happened and after it did the neko had felt nothing but dizzy. Annabel looked back up at look and opened her mouth to ask him if he felt different at all, her vision suddenly going dark as the woman lost consciousness.

Luka had no insight to tell him what the touch had done to the woman. At least, not apart from the slight dilation of her pupils. But she was responding just fine, so he thought nothing of it and simply waited--maybe patiently was not the correct term--for her to decipher his words and reply. Again, he gave no sign of confirmation, simply took and processed the information. The rest of his mind simply was spurred on by random thoughts that were apparent to details. Like he had no idea what she was thinking; was that how it was for everyone when they looked and interacted with him, completely unresponsive? Focusing again, he realized he should say something, considering she seemed unsure of his train of logic and had asked about it.
"Our abilities are similar, and both static inducing. They must have reacted to the close contact. That's most likely..."The vampire's words trailed off as Annabel's eyes closed, bringing a hand to her temple. He looked confused for a moment, until her eyes opened again, lips parting as though she were about to say something. He blinked, eyes opening just fraction wider as her eyes became unfocused, and she began to fall. Startled out of his stillness, Luka was suddenly closer to her than he had been before, catching her before she could continued her descend. Her head landed against shoulder, body half cradled against the front of his body. He stayed frozen there for a moment, taking a moment to make sure she was actually unconscious before he shifted her limp form and lifted her in his arms. It registered somewhere in his mind that she was as small as she looked, handled her more gently than was probably necessary.Though it was best not to jostle the unconscious neko, he knew this as he carried her to the bed, gently laying her down so that her head rested against the pillows.
Why had she fallen? Had she simply had a delayed reaction to the touch? As he thought this, Luka realized nothing had happened when his skin made contact with hers upon catching her. Unsure of what that meant, the male reached up, the pads of his fingers just barely brushing over the pale skin of her cheek. Nothing happened; so his hypothesis had been correct. Though for some reason it had effected her more than him, to the point of her fainting. Was she simply weaker than he was? He did not know how powerful, or how old, she was. It occurred to him that he was much closer than was polite, and retreated to the foot of the bed, leaning against the bed post and waiting. He was silent, gaze staying on the neko's unconscious form. He planned to remain that way, until she rejoined the land of the living once more, however long that took. And that, was a piece of knowledge the vampire simply did not possess.

An unmistakable grin of victory broke out on Leia’s face when Zephyr finally snapped on her. Ah, here was what she was looking for: someone who could participate in verbal arguments to some degree. She couldn’t deny being just a little disappointed though. She had hopped the kid in front of her would be able to hold his own just a little longer. He had been doing quite well, but then Leia had found what buttons to push and had gone right ahead and pushed them. The odd thing was that she didn’t know whether or not to congratulate him on leading the conversation in their direction, or laugh at him and mock him for it. Okay, that was a bit of a lie, she was definitely going to mock him – that went without question. In a verbal fight though, most people tried to hide their buttons. After all, the last thing you wanted was for your opponent to find out what made you tick. They could use it to control you, and possibly even goad you into physical violence, which – in Leia’s mind at the very least – was exactly how you lost a verbal fight. To Leia, if losing a physical fight meant being so injured that you couldn’t fight back anymore, then you lost a verbal fight by being hounded into a corner with nothing left to say. Of course, a verbal fight and a physical fight were two different things, so going by reason, the first person to resort to physical violence also lost. Attempting to physically harm the other party (or parties) said that you knew you had no chance to win a battle of wits and words; it was a surrender of sorts.
As Zephy calmed down, getting quieter and even apologizing for his outburst, the smile melted off her face. Huh. Unfortunately, it seemed like Leia would not be in luck here. Despite the fact that she had gotten the elf-mutt to shout at her, it seemed like he was not going to attack her. Pity. She had been looking forward to that.
Sighing, Leia gave a small shrug. ”You know, I see you opening and closing you mouth, but all I hear is: ‘A bloo bloo bluh.’ she stated sarcastically, raising one hand and opening and closing it as though it were a talking mouth. ”And funny, you keep bringing up assumptions you’ve made about me that I don’t remember either confirming or denying.”
With a moment of silence, she tilted her head, considering the blonde boy. It seemed like he probably had some sort of magical abilities – not that he would be able to use them here, at least according to her understanding of this place – which was a bonus. She was excited at the idea of bringing something magical back with her and it showed by the tiny smile which showed on her face, although she soon swallowed it by chewing her bottom lip in thought. Hopefully the foreign magic wouldn’t fade like hers and Nel’s had. Maybe it would even help her fulfill her goal in some manner. And at least he was mildly interesting.
Letting out another small sigh, she fixed her deep black eyes of the humanoid boy in front of her. ”You know, at the start, all I was doing was saying that your little company trying to shut a slave ring down was a futile endeavor, but apparently that was all you. However, I could care less if magic ran rampant in this world. In fact, in my opinion, it would be a great improvement. And do pray tell: who exactly are these ‘innocents’ of which you speak? Because it certainly isn’t humans or any of their ilk. They’re the least innocent of all.” A scowl grew on her face as she spoke and she crossed her arms over her chest. With an annoyed ‘tch’ that was mostly for show, she turned on her heel and began pacing towards the door again. She had only made it a couple of steps before something obviously occurred to her and she looked over her shoulder at Zephyr. ”Oh, and by the way, Chaos can be a beautiful thing. I don’t fear Chaos. It is civilization that has to fear Chaos. Nature can endure. So no, I don’t feel at all grateful for the work you and your little company do. In fact, I don’t see at all why I should even care about it. The work you do doesn’t concern me in the slightest. I can’t manage two sh*ts to give about it, I have my own stuff to worry about. Maybe given different circumstances I might care, but going off of what you’ve told me of this company, it seems like it would only be one more annoyance for me to have to deal with.”
Continuing her walk to the door, she finally stopped with one hand resting on the doorknob as she turned to face Zephyr. Teasing him. Saying ‘I could leave you here any moment, and there’s nothing you can do about it.’ There was a snake-like grin on her face. ”I know I’ve called you an idiot before, but I will gladly do it again. Especially since I know that the only reason you’re stuck here because you chose to go beyond your work. But whatever. Obviously we’ve covered that particular topic.” Taking her hand off the door handle, she folded her arms across her chest – mostly to have something to do with them – and leaned back against the wood of the door. ”And sure, magic can be dangerous, but so can almost anything else in the hands of the right person.” she grimaced, ”Believe me, I should know that. Word of advice to your company. Well, just you I guess, since it’s not like your company is ever going to hear this, but if you want to control humans, doing it from the shadows isn’t always the smartest idea. Humans have a way of messing things up without even knowing it.”
Smirking, she eyed Zehphy. ”I’m not going to harm you physically. At least not here. Something about ‘not damaging the lady’s property’ and all that. But let’s talk about you. Do you want me to leave you here? To let you rot away until someone decides that they want to have their way with you? Seems silly to me. Unless of course that’s what you’re into. If that’s really what you want, then so be it. Otherwise, I’m taking you.”
Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a leash and held it out to Zephyr, sure to keep the leading end looped around her wrist. ”Choose quickly mutt, because I’m moving on.”

Nel couldn’t help but giggle a little as he watched Selena almost lose her balance. He knew that it wasn’t really polite and all that, but hey, you couldn’t deny that it was funny how she had been startled by something so simple. It wasn’t like it had been a mean laugh either. He hadn’t been mocking her, or at least he didn’t think he had been. He supposed that it was very possible for her to take it as an insult though. He didn’t know that much about her really, but she certainly seemed rather irritable. That was probably all situation-wise though! She had just been trying to scare him away because she thought that he wanted her as some sort of prize or whatnot. Like… like a defence mechanism! That was it! Right? Well he certainly hoped so. He wouldn’t really want to make her angry at him over a misunderstanding. Especially since he had just gotten the first one all cleared up. He was waiting her to answer him now though, so he figured that it would be better for him to apologize if she did get angry. No real point in wasting words, right? After a moment, it occurred to him that that was kind of something Leia might say. Huh. Nel wasn’t quite sure what to think of that really. He loved his sister and all, but they were so radically different. He didn’t think that the things she said would ever rub off on him. Particularly because most of them were mean.
Realizing that, once again, he was getting side-tracked from the situation at hand, Nel snapped his focus back to Selena just in time to hear her ask if it was true that he didn’t want her as some sort of pet. Nel tilted his head to the side and stared at the taller girl. He didn’t really understand the mentality. Why would you keep something living as a prize to show off? He knew humans sometimes did that with dead things they had caught – it wasn’t a practice he approved of – but he didn’t believe in it. And keeping someone as a pet made even less sense. Pets were animals that humans kept as companions. They were often regarded to be less than human. Although Nel didn’t mind animal companions, and indeed loved it when there were animals living in their garden, he couldn’t think of them as humans did. In fact, sometimes he felt that they were more alive and more deserving of it than humans. He knew for a fact that Leia was convinced in that fact. As it was though, he didn’t understand why anyone would treat Selena as an animal. She was very obviously her own person.
He listened silently to the questions she asked him, understanding very well why she had to ask them, but not quite sure how he would answer the first one. Heck, he wasn’t quite sure exactly what he was supposed to be. He thought that Leia might have figured out what they were by now – she was older than him after all – but if she had, she sure wasn’t sharing. He certainly hoped she wasn’t hiding anything from him, but he knew that if she was, it was unlikely he would be able to get it out of her unless she wanted it to be told. Leia was strong like that!
He pouted a bit when she said that she had missed his name, a childish pout really. The pout quickly turning into a grin and he saw the regret on her face, Nel extended a hand towards her and waved it up and down. ”No worries! I know that sometime people are bad at remembering things too! I know I can get scatterbrained. I’m generally good with names until I don’t see the person for a while though.” he told her, ”As I said before, my name’s Nel. Well, technically it’s Nelen, but everyone calls me Nel. It’s easier.”
He paused to take a breath and crouched down next to her. Making an ‘x’ over his heart with his free hand, he smiled. ”I cross my heart that I want you to be my assistant and nothing else.” he said earnestly, ”No prize, pet, none of that!”
In response to her questions, he wrinkled his nose and fluffed the hair on the back of his head with his hand. After some silence, he finally began to speak, his voice quite subdued, ”I don’t know how to answer that first one. All I can tell you is that my sister and I are immortals. We seem to be the only two of our kind, and as far as we can tell, we’re somehow tied to our world. You see, we used to be able to use great amounts of magic but it started draining out of our world, and it drained from us at the same time. My sister can still use some magic, but I’m only capable of re-awakening sleeping magic now…”” Trailing off, Nel looked down, hiding his eyes as something of his age showed in them. Slowly, he began to perk up again, and as he answered her other questions, he was once again quite peppy. ”As for why I need and assistant: I’m an inventor! I make machines for people! I’m not exactly the most famous, but I’m pretty well off, and pretty busy, so I’ve found myself in need of help. You won’t have to do any actual work on my machines if you don’t want to, but I will need help collecting things, and keeping my work area clean and that stuff. But hey! If you do want to learn, I’d be happy to try and teach as well!” here he stopped for a moment and tapped a finger on his upper lip. ”Water… water…” he thought aloud, before suddenly exclaiming ”Ah! Yes, we do have water! There’s a green-space out the back with a nice sized pond. I’m not sure how much water you require, but it should definitely be big enough for you to swim in! You might have to deal with my sister quite a bit, because she spends more time out there, but I think you’ll be able to hold your own with her.”
Cracking a grin, he attempted to meet Selena’s eyes. ”So? he asked, ”What do you think?”
Leaning against the bed post the neko let out a sigh, thinking about what exactly what it was she was looking for. Kaoru hadn't given too much thought on the kind of person she would be willing to take back to the house, she had just be focused on the thought of having more than Annabel and herself in said house. Maybe she should have listened when her sibling suggested thinking about her decision before acting on it but, once again, she brushed the suggestion aside. Now that she was here Kaoru had to think on her feet, which was what she usually ended up doing in her split second decisions, about what she was interested in. She chewed on her lip, her gaze drifting around the room as she thought about what she might be interested in.
The female paused in her looking about the room zeroed in on the bathroom door when she heard what sounded like water being drained. "I guess someone is staying in the room after all." she thought with a soft shrug of the shoulders. She shifted her attention from the bathroom to elsewhere, deciding to just wait for the rooms occupant to get out and let her mind wander again. Lavender eyes once again turned to the bathroom door when a voice pulled her from her thoughts. The male that spoke up was a rather handsome man if Kaoru had to admit, if not more than just a tab bit intimidating. The neko suppressed a shudder at the dark look on his face combined with the information he shared with her. Giving herself a mental shake the neko looked the raven haired male leaning against the doorframe over and gave his collar a quick glance.
The chain alone was reason for Kaoru to reconsider the idea of leaving with the raven haired male. He had openly admitted to killing the last mistress that he had been with. Aside from that and the crescent moon, the charms and colors were something that the lavender eyed neko could deal with. “Well, I suppose the idea crossed my mind.” She answered with a sigh as her gaze lifted back to the males face. "So if I promised to keep my hands to myself. Would that change your mind at all?" Kaoru was just looking to tease the male a bit with her question, but she was also curious if it would at all change his answer. He seemed like a rather interesting person to mess with...aside from the slight possibility that he might try and off her for crossing a line.
In the end,as you fade into the night, Who will tell the story of your life?
Zephyr grinned at her when she attempted to mock him. Attempted was right. "Aw, that's sweet. I think the same way about you, though all I hear is to the tune of 'yada yada yada I'm so arrogant and snobby you should be thanking me for even attempting ti talk to you, mere mortal.' Seriously, if you're still trying to goad me, its not working. I've already decided your head is too thick to try and convince you of anything." Now, Zephyr was just getting annoyed. This woman wouldn't drop it. Really, how hard was it just to walk out of the damn room? But no. She had to stay here and try and provide a counterpoint to everything he said. She was more human than she thought. Though, he wouldn't say that aloud.
At her denying the innocence of humans, Zephyr couldn't help but chuckle again as he pulled a cigarette from his pocket and lit up once more. A real card, she was. "See, there you go making your own assumptions. I never said that humans were the so-called 'innocents' here. In fact, they're often the perpetrators. There's more to this world than humans and elves, you know..." And that's all he said about that. No sense trying to argue with someone as pigheaded as this woman.
He finally let loose and laughed out loud when she spoke of the "beauty" of chaos. "You really are naive, aren't you?" However, he didn't offer a counterpoint. He didn't want to. But he knew. Her version of chaos wasn't true chaos. It was "its not happening to me" chaos. Every so-called "chaos lover" never put that into account, these days. It was only a good thing when it wasn't happening to them, when it was under their control. But that wasn't true chaos. Hell, if chaos was an explosion, what the woman spoke of was a controlled demolition. True chaos took no prisoners, it didn't care, it wasn't controlled. It involved anyone and everyone it touched, and you couldn't just sit back and watch it. There was no "its not happening to me" about it. It created nothing, and destroyed everything, including nature. True chaos couldn't be beautiful, because true chaos only destroyed. Her "own stuff to worry about" would not be spared. She would not be spared. He wondered briefly what she would do once she experienced true chaos, but then he grew tired of the word, and moved on, watching the woman feign leaving.
Seriously, she was trying too hard to seem disinterested. If she really didn't care, she would leave. Plenty of fish in this mansion. He was but one of many, and he had no illusions that he was possibly the most interesting one here. Once more, she got his attention, but only because she misread the PLEA's goals. "It's about control, its about concealment. Could you imagine what humans would do if they discovered that magic was real? It goes beyond chaos. They would destroy everything, including the goals of beings that extend beyond that of the mortal plane. There's a lot out there, and the reason we do what we do is not to control, but to make sure only the people who should know about magic do. In the process, sure, we may shape history, but our goal, in the long run, has always been the same: keep the majority of humans unaware of the existence of magic. I say 'majority' because there are a select few humans who do, but they are either people who are smart enough to keep it to themselves, or Tranquil." Zephyr didn't explain that a Tranquil was one who has had their emotions stripped of them, leaving them unable to act or think irrationally. "We've had some close calls though. Twice in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan in 1945, then again in Chernobyl in '86. I was on station for the Chernobyl Incident. Lot of hoops to jump through and we were almost found out three times." Zephyr blew some smoke, realizing he was bragging, and decided it was now time to get down to brass tacks. "Bottom line? Yeah, you're right. The PLEA just makes sure that the magic department of 'anything' is already covered."
"So, you're offering me a choice? How ******** thoughtful." Despite his sarcasm, he stood there thoughtfully, weighing his options. Despite his verbal spar with the woman, he knew she was a better choice than some rich pervert only interested in ******** him. Like hell he was going to let that happen. He looked at the leash, scowling and blowing smoke at it in distaste, though the distance between them made it dissipate before the woman even smelled it. Ugh. He told his bosses this would have been a lot easier if they had legally inspected the place instead of making him go all commando, but they had insisted that clandestine work was how they operated, and it would yield a greater chance of finding something when the place wasn't on its guard. Well, now he was stuck here. Unless.....dammit. He sighed, and put the spent cigarette out. "I've become bored of this place, especially this room, though the pattern on the wall is nice. Fine, lady, I'll go with you. Not like going with you is any better, though...."
Truly, the elf prince was rather stunned by the easy dismissal this beautiful maiden had at his offer of luxuries for the rest of her life. He had thought that nay beautiful maiden, whether previously a princess or not, would desire the extended comforts that he could offer. Yet, this beautiful maiden, Ellie, wanted nothing of the sort. She deemed the luxuriant lifestyle as unnecessary, because she was no longer a princess. However, his pink haired maiden couldn’t seem to understand his grasp on the synonymy between the words female and princess. Of course, Shay could always reintroduce these ideals at a later date. If this princess did not wish to have luxurious things, he would not force them upon her. He would do all that was in his power to give her a normal lifestyle. After all, was he not the same? Dismissing special treatment because of a title he was born with or given? He was very much the same way, so he wasn’t exactly certain why it bothered him so that this princess would not wish for the opulent lifestyle of a royal. Perhaps, it was because he had never known another like him in his lifetime? No other royal had wished to be on a level that was not coated and tailored to fit a need and appearance based lifestyle. The more he looked at this pink haired rabbit, and took in her responses, processing them for his own understanding, the more his heart grew around the certainty that he was indeed making the correct decision in his choice of companion. Perhaps, his smaller indulgences would even be allowed, and she would know of politics, so that she could share in his burden without too much effort? He wouldn’t let himself get too carried away, but it was a deep hope.
When Ellie continued, apologizing, and covering her words, as if she had truly insulted him, he looked up at her, alarm running into his features. He must have paused too long to sort through her words and find their meanings in his heart and mind. He must have looked erringly awkward as he processed her information. Obviously he had given her the wrong idea for the effect of her words. Instead, she simply restated her gratitude at his offer, and even gave a gentle squeeze to his hand. Shay smiled up at her allowing his fingers to tenderly trace over the skin on her hand before he guided her delicate hand to his lips for another kiss. She was so tender and gentle. How could anyone have thrown her into an establishment such as this? He had several answers lined up, and logical explanations for all of them, but they still couldn’t quench the question within his heart. How could they throw someone so delicate and innocent into a cell to be bought and sold like cattle? It was purely unacceptable. He frowned, keeping his face lowered so that his expression would not be so easily read. He didn’t want to panic his companion, but there was a point where his rage would seethe and bubble over. He was rapidly escalating to that point, and despite his level headed nature, his upset was starting to overcome the better parts of him. It was fortunate that Ellie began speaking again, stating that she wouldn’t want to go back to her own kingdom. That she would just settle on speaking with her father, and that she did not want to disappoint him. Shay frowned. If only he could tell her the truth, that he was indeed a prince, and she would not be going back against her words. That he hoped this companionship might lead to a healthy relationship and maybe even a cordial and happy marriage. He couldn’t overwhelm his new companion with all these selfish hopes and thoughts. Not yet. He had to be much more tactful than that. Besides, he didn’t even know this woman, even though his heart thought he did. He couldn’t risk breaking the lace-like bond that had begun between them. It would ruin all ambitions and plans for the future if he revealed all of his surprises now. He’d simply have to remain elusive.
When his maiden stood, she sought to take him with her, and so, Shay obliged, standing for his princess. He was much taller than her, but he looked down at her tenderly, keeping his expression friendly and open. He would not frighten his little rabbit. Oh no. He had to keep her safe and sound with him. If he didn’t’ there would be much trouble. Yet, when his little rabbit began speaking onc more, he couldn’t help but smile at the adorable fluster that seemed to coat her body movements as well as her speech. He tenderly touched her cheek, catching her attention, and looked gently into her eyes. ”My lady, please. I have already promised you I would take you from this place. I would not go back against my vow, so please, you do not need ask for permission. I will take you away. Secondly, you repay my kindness by agreeing that you should come with me. That you will leave with me brings me such a great delight that it is almost indescribable. Please do not feel that you have to serve, or even some sort of balance. You are already making me more than happy. I will keep you forever, but you will not be my servant, but rather my companion. So please, do not speak of yourself as in my service. Please, think of yourself as my constant companion.” He smiled warmly, once more kissing her hand, afraid that if he kissed her cheek, she would become more nervous or flustered. Instead, he turned his head towards the window, using the sun’s presence in the sky to tell him the time that was befalling the both of them. If he wanted ot make it home before nightfall, they would have to leave soon. There would be much to do in the days to come, so he needed to begin as soon as possible.
Shay looked back at Ellie once more, a smile upon his features. ”Tell me, Good Princess, where are your belongings? I would gather all of those important to you so that we may depart. I would like to show you your new home, and your new chambers before it becomes too late and you are too weary to see them.” He smiled at her, releasing his hold on her so that she could gather her things while he went purposefully to the door and the guard stationed on the other side, letting them know that he wanted to door opened. Once the guard had done what Shay bid, the elf turned back to his princess, extending his hand for Ellie’s own, prepared to take any bundle or bag that she may have had. Once that was complete, he tenderly too Ellie’s hand, leading her out of the room and through the halls. Keeping her close so that all would know that the delightful maiden was his, Shay led Ellie to the office of the Mistress of the house. He made quick work of the required paperwork, finding it to be tedious and disgusting, but not saying as much. Once he was free of signing and payment he looked back upon his princess with a smile. ”You are free, Princess Elouera. It would give me great pleasure to show you your new home if you would be so kind as to let me.” He smiled, crossing an arm over his chest, and bowed low, at the waist, waiting for her response. Shay was exceedingly giddy about taking his princess home. He would deal with truths and honesty later, but for now, he could play it cool, like just another being in the world, seeking companionship. After all, without titles, that’s all he really was.

Pale hands gently ran over fallen golden curls as the being in question did their best to maintain some semblance of a decent appearance. After all, when was trapped in a place as they were, appearance and good behavior seemed to be the only way to escape. Though the room was lavish in appearance, and seemed to address every comfort its occupant could desire, the room still served as a cage, trapping the golden curled male within the confines of the four walls. There was never any pleasant or desirable company within his room, but he made do with what he could, keeping himself away from the guards when he had to, knowing that his services would only be wasted upon them when they came in, lude and crude with their leering eyes and swollen desires. Of course, they were supposed to be up to the utmost care with those who were within the rooms, but it didn’t stop them from their mockery and teasing on occasion. Always when the good Lady of the house was out of earshot. The guards believed that they knew what he was capable of, from hearing stories or snippets of his file, and yet, they knew nothing. They were ignorant bodies meant to guard doors, not to know the capabilities of the beings stuck inside the grand cage of the house. With a sigh, the golden haired male stretched his lithe body, and gave another gentle fluff to his curls. They seemed to be rather unmanageable today. His hands trembled gently, reminding him that he was inside, and a pet to serve others, not a free being. He wondered briefly if he would always be caged up like an animal, or if someone would eventually come and allow him to see the outside world again.
Going to the window, the golden haired male looked out over the horizon with longing. He would have given favors to anyone who would let him journey outside, if only for a moment. He needed to smell grass and fresh air. Not that air that was polluted with dust, and tinged with the metal of the system it was pushed through. He felt stifled inside, as if there would never be any means of escape. And truly, there wouldn’t. It was always movement form one cage to another, whether on a gilded chain, or one that was less lavish, and far more cruel. With a sigh, the lithe man moved away from the window and back to the bathroom, looking into the mirror, and taking in his appearance. His curls were mashed from too much working. Green-gold eyes looked back at him, searching the depths of their reflection for some brilliant answer that would end his suffering. The smallest of smirks graced his mouth as he turned his attention to the two stubborn curls on either side of his head that remained ever present. Looking like little ram horns, they were the only indication of the male’s true nature. The living presence of a sheep within was another reason the male wished to frolic outside. He couldn’t take living in such confined spaces without ever breathing fresh air. It was maddening, and though he fought the change while he was indoors as a courtesy to his master or mistress of the time, soon, it would overtake him and send him into a frenzy that he was not indeed outside to roam as normal sheep did. With a gentle sigh, the male pulled himself away from the mirror and the bathroom all together, heading back to his bed to sit perched upon the edge.
It had been a while since he had escaped this room, even if it was to be at the hands and mercy of another master or mistress. He was quite confused as to why he was still in this place, given the talents and training that had been administered to him. The male shifter was knowledgeable in the talents and skills of pleasure making. He had been stolen from his home and thrown into a ring where he was forced to learn the talents he now possessed. While the male still found it to be debasing, given that he was the one who took the burden of the whole ploy, it seemed to get him out of these intermittent situations of holding much faster than if he was just a normal male. Sure, when he shifted he was cute, but he was also experienced in the mannerisms of pleasure. If it was a drawback that he was indeed not a virgin, no one seemed to have issue with it. Surely, some passed him over, because he was not virginal, but his experience also spoke volumes for what he could do. Trained to finish both men and women with simple tricks and gestures of pleasure was a specialty of his. He had been in grandiose home, and even the basest of environments, training, and working himself as prescribed by his master or mistress of the time. He never had a firm understanding on why they rid themselves of him. He figured it was because they were tired of him, or if he did his job too well, they were intimidated. He wasn’t sure, especially when once, with a mistress, he didn’t even grant the woman pleasure, other than to be stiffened into a piece of living art that never moved. That was, until he turned into a sheep and caught himself on the wrappings and bindings he had been forced into. Without much other thought to his predicament, the golden-haired male curled up on his bed, his bare feet brushing softly against the beding beneath him. He groaned softly, yearning for the outside world before closing his eyes. He wouldn’t let any visitors, guards or otherwise, see the desperation to be outside on his fac. He would need to go son. He would have to shift soon. No one seemed to understand the strain on his body that it took to put off a shift, but he closed his eyes, stretching his worn body over the bed, and groaned softly again, trying to find the most comfortable ace to lay so that he might rest again. After all, there wasn’t much more to do in the room. He’d read all the books, his meal wouldn’t come until later, and looking out the window was torturous. He only hoped that some kind soul would come soon to take him home. He needed escape and a new home. He needed to use his talents again, even though he didn’t want to admit it. It was a necessity, and it was starting to break him down. He need to escape into the embrace of someone who would care for him, as he would for them.

He watched her, his yellow eyes suspicious of this intruder in his room as she looked over his collar. Most of the women that came into this room wanted a challenge, but wanted it with a 'safe word'. They wanted him to pretend to be the vicious, mean, sadistic, brutal slave that he was and then fall head over heels with them into bed. Which normally led them to their sorry demise, though most of his previous mistress' deaths were due to 'natural accidents'. House fires, food poisoning, drowning in the bathtub due to over medicating, and the like. None of them could be blamed on him and so he hadn't earned the collar or the charm until recently.
A look of disgust crossed the fallen angel's face as she admitted that the thought of manhandling him crossed her mind as she lifted her oddly colored eyes up to his face. "Do I have much of a choice in your decision? I assume that I don't, so why would me changing my mind in going with you anywhere, kitty cat, change your mind at all?" He asked, his voice hitting a sarcastic tone as he shook his head slightly, trying to understand how he could get out of this business all together. At first it was fine, the women, the constant pampering to keep themselves on his good side... Now it was just a nuisance. The handsy women, the ones that threw themselves at him, the ones that once upon a time made him so very happy were now an object of his disgust.
Coming back to the situation at hand, he turned his yellow eyes from the woman and ran a hand through his still wet hair, smoothing it back from his face, a habit he acquired when trying to calm down. "Just so you know, if you do decide to take me from this fancy hell hole, if you do cross the line and don't keep your hands to yourself, I have no qualms about killing you either. And that goes for anyone else in your household. Whether it be a husband that's neglecting you, a child that is getting on your nerves, a servant that is lonely... I'm not afraid of killing you or anyone around you, kitty cat." He said, his voice cold, but one could probably sense the slight tinge of remorse in his words. Belial, despite all his faults, didn't like needing to kill in order to be left alone, but he'd do it if he needed to.
Once more coming back to the real world, he turned his yellow eyes back to her and uncrossed his arms, pushing off from against the wall to turn and made his way back into the bathroom to dry his hair and grab his shirt. The two large, star shaped scars from where his wings had been were fully visible on his back as he withdrew into the steamy room. When he returned, his hair was tussled and a black T-shirt hugged his torso. Moving to the other side of the room, he took a seat in a chair near the door, lazily flopping down and looking at the woman sitting on his bed cautiously.
He had to admit that she was pretty... Not nearly as gorgeous as Jezebell had been, though Jezebell was probably not a good comparison because of what had happened between the two of them. However, Belial was done with the carnal need of lust for now. Women in this day and age just weren't worth the drama that they presented, especially the dark haired kitty that sat in front of him.
The lavender eyed woman shrugged slightly at his question, “To a certain degree I would say that you do have some sort of say in the matter of leaving here or not.” Looking slowly around the room and returning her gaze to the raven haired male before her, “Though I’m sure that leaving would sound better, this room seems extremely boring.” She added noting that there wasn’t much to keep one entertained in the small space. There also seemed to be a strong lack of any sort of company one could receive as well. He could deny all he wanted that he would rather stay in the room than leave it for any sort of time but Kaoru knew that one could only go for so long without company before slowly losing it...Well most people did anyways.
The neko narrowed her eyes slightly at his next comment, there would be hell to pay if he even considered touching the younger neko for any reason. “I’m not too worried about anyone not being able to keep their hands to themselves. Should you on the other hand decide to break your own rules about touching someone though, I can assure you that it’s not going to be pretty.” She warned him, her voice even. Kaoru wasn’t too concerned about him messing with her sibling though, he didn’t seem to want anything to do with women and Annabel sure as hell wasn’t going to get too close to him, the crimson eyed female was just too damn shy (especially around men) for her own good. The only reason the other neko would probably touch the raven haired male was if he managed to hurt himself, Annabel had a tendency to try and help people if they were hurt. Other than that there wouldn't be much reason for contact between the two, aside from Annabel possibly accidently bumping into for one reason or another. Her lavender gaze immediately moved to the two large scars on his back when he turned to retreat into the bathroom. “Well that’s interesting. I wonder what happened” She’d have to remember to ask him about them sometime in the future, should he decide to take her up on her offer of leaving the shop with herself and Annabel.
“What I can tell you that might make you at least reconsider coming along is that there wouldn’t be much, if anything, asked of you. And everyone’s going to keep their hands to themselves. Just don’t kill anyone in the house and we’ll get along just peachy, as close to peachy as we can get given temperament issues that might arise.” She had noticed something in his voice when he spoke, she gave no indication that she had heard the tone. What it was she couldn't be entirely sure of, brushing the thought aside Kaoru continued in her attempt in persuading the man to change his mind “There’s also a music room where you can play anything you like. Let's see, what else is there...oh! There's a library as well if you're a reader." she added after a couple of moments of silence passed between the two.

_____『 Ruby nodded as the golem confirmed his words. He was silent, though, weighing all the options and benefits. He had to admit, the only discrepancies were his clogged senses and the inability to transform. Compared to the days of flying endlessly through different weathers, gravity and wind putting a strain on his muscles. This place had not caused him the inconvenience as the one night on the street, in the dark with a stranger's clothes pulled over his body. He supposed if he hadn't been caught, he'd still be scrounging the streets like an animal. No clothes, no money, no friends nor family. The male's wings flexed irritably. Such a concept was a degrading thought, one that left a foul taste in his mouth.
The dragon didn't bother following the golem as he passed, not feeling a threat to protect himself from as he came into extremely close range. If he went with the two before him, he would not have any such parameters. He would have the thrill and challenge of combat, he wouldn't feel deaf or blind, he could transform and fly the skies. Even if necessary, he'd never tried it with full grown beings before, but he was sure he could make it to the air for a quick getaway with them in tow if it was necessary.
Eyes refocusing on Rayen's face from where they had strayed, it took Ruby a minute to supply an answer to her faintly spoken words. He simply shook his head."Nothing is of necessity for the time being."He did not return her smile, simply stared at her with a blank expression. Now all that occupied his mind was curiosity. Of what, he did not speak, but he inquired about information anyway. "Where are the two of you residing currently? Are we relocating anytime soon?"All the while, he looked the woman straight in the face, searching her crystaline eye, her timid expression. What was this woman, human? He doubted that a creature like Eysteinn would risk hide and hair for such a thing. As his senses had been dulled, he had nothing to hint his mind of recognition. How many years were laid on her slate so far, and how many more would there be? These questions skirted his mind, but they were not dire enough to ask aloud. They probably wouldn't be any time soon, either, but eventually; maybe. 』

At first Selen was a little worried that she'd made the kid cry by asking to repeat his name - that pout just threatened tears - but the pout turned into a grin within a blink of an eye and it left Selena mighty confused. Watching his hand wave up and down in a universal symbol of "forget it, I understand", she listened to his happy little speech about how forgetting things were okay and that he was scatterbrained to and then finally, she got his name. Nelen, or Nel. It appeared Nel was the favoured name here, and it was easy enough to remember, three letters were favourable to the memory. But what happened next sort of... Surprised her.
The little blonde moved to crouch next to her, crossing his heart with his fingers. Selena knew that trick, that little action. Human children did it to promise another that they'd never break a promise, or tell a secret to another. It didn't mean much to the woman, but the action was enough to soften up her resolve a little more. He was an odd one, this little ball of energy. He seemed almost too innocent and nice to be believable, but it wasn't a faked or forced innocent happiness. It was like Nel was just that happy and that energetic. Hell, she enjoyed being lazy compared to being that energetic, but it was a nice change. It made her somewhat relax a tad, but only just. It was hard to trust anyone these days, and while she really wanted to believe his words and let herself believe she wouldn't be used as a trophy or a pet, Selena just wouldn't be able to relax until it was actually proven.
Still waiting for an answer to her other question, when the little one began to speak again (Selena was quite liking this nickname for him in her head) she was taken aback at just how subdued he'd become. Maybe asking what he was had been a little personal, but when he started to explain, it just raised more questions. At first, Selena was wondering how someone could not know what they were, since usually wasn't it pretty obvious? But as he ended that little speech it became clear to Selena that he just honestly and simply did not know what being he was. It was almost depressing, to think about going through your eternal life without any idea to what you were and what purpose you had. Mermaids had a purpose, generally not a nice purpose, but they at least had one. Almost expecting the sudden change in personality now, Selena didn't bat an eyelid when he became peppy again, talking about why he needed an assistant and explaining that he was an inventor and simply needed an assistant to help out. That was logical, and practical in the mermaid's eyes.
Wondering just what this little blonde ball of energy could possibly even invent, she watched him think out loud about water. Expecting him to turn around and offer up an above-ground swimming pool, the woman could say she was decently surprised to hear they had a pond. Admittedly, the thought of a pond in a back garden area wasn't the most appealing, but if she was lucky, she could ask them to extend it. Or, god forbid, she could ask them to (even the thought made her wince a little) buy a paddling pool to fill with salt water. It was a demeaning thing to soak in a paddling pool, but it thoroughly beat the idea of wrapping up her legs in a damp towel to avoid the infernal itching that came with her skin drying out and demanding hydration. The thought of a pond was miles better than being in this hotel room with the dry air and the too-small bathtub, and whoever this sister was, Selena was sure she could deal with them.
Shrugging, she slowly got to her feet. "A pond sounds better than a bathtub, pint size." Was all she said as she walked over to the closet in her room, bundling the tiny array of clothing she'd collected over the years into a small satchel bag. Thankfully the manor lady had allowed her to keep the clothes she'd been given or forced to wear, but it didn't bother Selena. Clothes were something she had to wear while in her human form, since it appeared society didn't like nudity too much. What uptight people. Turning around to look at Nel, while her expression seemed disinterested and bored, Selena was actually quite pleased with the fact she was leaving this goddamned place. Nothing more, nothing less. Did she need to voice that she wanted to go with him? Because she was pretty sure that simply packing up her things was enough. Hopefully.

"State your thoughts clearly, unless you wish me to be confused?"
It was raining again today. He could hear it falling outside his home once again, the little droplets hitting the earth in it's generally ferocious manner, the sound of it echoing along the empty streets. Ocean colored eyes slowly moved to glance out the window, bright blue hues sparking with slight interest, he was getting curious as to what lay outside, what could be lurking out in the rain today? Rising off the couch in a single fluid motion, s**t partially open as he would fix the buttons to be completely closed. Mind wandering away as he would move towards the door, the rain, he could almost feel it. Easily sliding open the door he was blasted with frigid air as rain pelted his face, he smirked lightly, the cool feeling brushing over his skin with ease. Closing his eyes only for a moment, he would suddenly feel something slam into him though, thick arms like his own wrapped around his neck and a wet body clung to him. Eyes snapping open as a familiar scent washed over him, sex, hair gel and then the pheromones that he had grown accustomed to. Jace clung to Sen tightly as he would walk back into the home closing the door behind him before prying the tall male off of him. Red hair was plastered to the young man's face as he would look at Sen's now wet clothing, "Hehe, it's rainin' men." Jace chuckled his bright red eyes focused on Sen's face, "Get out." Sen didn't even hesitate to tell the man to leave, "B-but it's rainin'! And it's cold!" Jace cried, "That is appealing to you being thrown outside being an even better idea." his voice was deep and fairly thick with rage at the moment, Jace shivered and cried, "Don't make me go out there! Please! I'll tell you about this place I visited today- they sell companions! You were looking for something like that right? Something like Saphy?" Jace tried to appeal to Sen's more curious side, "Speak." he'd command Jace, not questioning it much further considering he could still throw the incubus out of his home.
"There is a hotel, run by this lady, and she sells slaves. They have pets and companion types there, maybe you'd like one? I heard they had mermaids and stuff there too, maybe you can take it on trips with you?" Jace questioned with a smile as he stood up, "Sounds interesting enough....I think I might go take a look..." he mused rubbing his chin, Jace smiled happily, well up until he was grabbed by the collar and unceremoniously kicked out of the house, "As if I'd leave you in my house alone." Sen chuckled lightly as he exited as well, keys in his jeans pocket. His dark hair would plaster itself to his face, the bright blue markings running down his cheek and neck visible and contrasting against the palor of his skin. He usually didn't mind people staring at them, they didn't know what they were so it had no significance to them. Letting out a breath as he slipped into a small dark blue honda civic, he would soak the seat with water considering he was drenched entirely from only being out in the rain for a little while. Body leaning back and resting against the seat as he would enjoy the feeling of the moisture on his skin. His long sleeve black t-shirt was completely plastered to his body, showing off every definition of muscle on him as he would start the car up. It felt tight and uncomfortable, but he left it, if only for the treat to feel nice and wet for awhile.
It was a fairly long drive, Jace was probably somewhere back near Sen's house, hanging out until he got by like the man usually did, he enjoyed Sen's presence a lot more than most, something that still piqued his interest from time to time. Though a clear answer was never given to him as to why Jace liked being around. Pulling in a little ways away from the hotel, he would step out into the rain again with little care as to how one would think of his preference to be soaked. Slowing down as he stopped at the entrance, he would focus on drawing all the water off of his body, every droplet of moisture was easily pulled into a large ball behind him, then dropped. Walking in completely dry while still retaining the sleek color of his hair, one could wonder how he managed such a thing. Walking up to the woman who owned this place he would briefly speak with her about browsing, since he wasn't fully sure he wanted anything from here, he just wanted to look around for a bit. She didn't seem to mind as long as he didn't stir up any trouble, happily agreeing to such terms he would easily slip down one of the hallways she indicated, apparently pet like slaves or slave companions were down this way. Something to probably lure him into buying one.
