For some reason or another, the first person I came out to was an aquaintance of mine. She was really cool with it. Then some of my teachers, they were all fine. My parents didn't care either. And my friends...well, here's what happened:

Friend1: So-And-So went to your MySpace and it said you were bi.

Me: ...

Friend1: So you are bi?

Me: ... Yeah ...

Totally not the way I wanted to tell them, let alone try to break it to them that I am really les. *sigh* Basically I kept putting it off and it kinda just came up.

My coming-out wasn't great. My parents found out, and kicked me out for like, a month. They then threatened to disown me. Because I'm gay. It was effing retarded. We don't discuss my being gay anymore, unless we're talking about me having kids. Such as:

Mom - are you going to have kids?
Me - Uh, no.
Mom - Why?
Me - I don't WANT kids. I don't want to be prgenant, and I sure has hell don't want to DELIVER.
Mom - Well, you know, gays can adopt now too.
Me - Mom! We have company. *storms off*

Yeh.. It was strange.. And she announced to my whole family and pretty much ever living soul she knows that I'm gay. And, y'know what? The ONLY people who have a problem with it, are my parents. All my grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, they're all fine with it.

Stupid parents.

when I came out to my mom:

"It's a phase right? you're just experimenting. omg did someone hurt you? is it my fault? did daddy touch you?"

rolleyes

when I came out to my best friend:

(we were in the car coming home from a camping trip and playing hangman)

she writes after solving puzzle "who do you like?"

me: katherine

her: you always did like em long n skinny xd

coming out to borther:

what? why? i'm still bombing the gay parade when i grow up anyway you know.

stressed

I've had a lot of reactions. and i get the whole "sitting on the fence" thing sometimes too, because apparantly its impossible to not define a person by whats between their legs or something.

but yeah.

Everyone I know is perfectly fine with it EXCEPT my parents. Effing homophobes. That's a huge part of the reason I friggin' contemplated suicide for three months. My mom and dad both think it's "just a phase" and my mom makes offensive jokes, and my dad just makes it indirectly clear that he doesn't approve. Ironically my stepmom is perfectly fine with me.

Psh, and people wonder why I hate my parents.

You're not alone, my dad makes homophobic comments almost constantly. Yesterday he was talking about how all the stupid queers need to be killed off, or something -- Right in front of me, and he was making no attempt to hide it... crying

ouch, thats so cruel. it makes me glad hearing all this that i was one of the luckey few to have non homophobic parnets/ family/ everybody i know. my aunt knew for sure long before i came out, since her son was gay as well, my other aunt (on the same side of the family) is bi. so i guess my coming out wasnt that bad since the family already was used to having homosexuality in the family. that and they pretty much figured it out (like i did) when puberty hit, fallowed by six years in the closet, i came out just before prom, seinor year.

I don't care if people make fun of me for being gay. I make fun of myself all the time, calling myself a f*****t, etc. It just pisses me off beyond all reason when people put down gays in general.
