Ling had returned to the cave some time ago, hoping that Leanna had followed him. He noted that two of his pride had gone, Kun Yi and Shaitani. He chuckled inwardly at himself and nodded. The young Shaitani had been adventurous, why would the older one change? He sat at the enterance to the cave and sighed. His pride was happy, and he was happy, that was all that mattered to him right now. He looked to Akira and Xiao, along with Xia. He smiled warmly at them, they were all his, even now he felt a great sense of family and pride at seeing them, but, did he really know them at all??
He sighed at the thought that someday some of his pride would leave him. It was their choice of course, but Ling hated to see them leave. The males would be strong, and they could be a threat to him, but he didn't want to see them leave. He then thought of the females, would they try to leave? Surely not. He would give them a home, protection. He sighed and shook his head as he continued to watch his pride.

About to open his mouth wht some other mock-arrogant ocmment, he then saw Kun Yi aleady setting toward the desert. His words caught in his throat and let out only a small sound. He was speechless. Closing his mouth and letitng out a small sigh, he moved past her, "Yes, well..," he muttered to himself, regaining his composure.

Like hell she'd let him lead now. The smaller lion pulled even with him, lengthening her strides to keep up. "Where in the desert are we going?" She looked up at him, not quite liking the difference in their size. To compensate she kept her head and tail as high as she could.

Glancing down at the determined female, he shrugged, "I don't know. The last time I went I only got over one dune before Ling came and brought me back to the cave." He chuckled, "I got in trouble for that..."
He had also learned to kill on that outing. His first kill had been the rattle snake that had threatened him. Well, really the snake didn't do much, but to the small cub he was threatening, and his premature instincts had kicked in.

Nola finished eating and then watched the other two leave before looking at Xiao. "Why does she hate us?"

Akira got up and walked towards nola and xiao "heh..looks like your sister likes Shaitani" akira smiled "at least she's getting along with someone" he said "so..do you guys wanna play something?or maybe explore a bit?" he asked happy to have some other cubs to play with

Xiao bit her lip. "She doesn't... not like you.... she's just.... not very trusting... our mother died, leaving us alone... we've only ever had eachother... it's hard for her to trust other, I guess...." Xiao smiled at Akira, "She prolly likes his attitude." She said with a giggle. She smiled eagerly, "I want to explore! I haven't been here long... and I don't really know what's around here..."

Akira smiled "great! Shall we explore farther into the cave? i've always been kinda curious of whats back there" he said his tail tip twitching slightly with excitement "Nola wanna come?" he asked smiling to the other cub

"I think we should tell King Ling where we are going first. He would worry about us otherwise. Besides its respectful to ask before doing something. Maybe he would like to come with us." the little green and pink lioness said looking around for the king. Once spoting him she bounded over and landed at his left paw. "King Ling, can we explore the cave more? Want to go with us?"

Ling was pulled from his thoughts as Nola came bounding over to him. He looked down at the little female and smiled. "You may explore the cave all you wish little one, and if it is your desire that I join your party as a guard, I will do so most willingly." He chuckled and rose fro mthe ground, his large black and white body moving back to where the small group of cubs played.

"Yay!" Nola cheered as she went over to the others with Ling. "Lets go!" She started off towards the far part of the cave that was yet explored.

Ling lingered at the back of the main room of the cave. He watched the others and chuckled as they moved in his direction. He took note that Xia had again fallen into one of her silent modes, and that, more than anything troubled him. He sighed and looked tothe cubs at his feet. "Forgive me for a moment." He moved away from them and over to where the teenaged lioness rested, he leaned low over her and rubbed his cheek against hers. "Xia, why not come with us? Anything has to be better for yu than simply laying here in your lonely state." He smiled that warm smile and licked her cheek. "Please, I would be over joyed if you were to join us."

Out in the desert, Adelle wandered the dunes tying to get to the neaest water source she could find. If her memory served her there was an river or lake somewhere close. Her legs gave way when she reached the top of the next dune. As her weary eyes looked over the rolling sand she thought she spotted two specks of black and red. ~I am dreaming...~

Kun Yi studied the sand under her paws. It was hotter out here but not that hot. Just enough to have her panting slightly. She was young, eager and stubborn, the heat wouldn't make her turn back. "We could go on forever and forget that vulgar Pride." Amethyst eyes glanced at the older male. "That dour puff can't do anything to us, we're younger and faster."
"Besides, if we keep on going, maybe we could start our own Pride." Yes, we, as in the both of them. No him or even her. One would know that the dragon lioness would be stubborn enough to try to start her own Pride if one knew her long enough.
