Kaori saw the bouncers start moving toward Austin and wondered what she should do. She hadn't planned on getting thrown out of the club before they got to talk to the owner. Sadly, that was what it was looking like though. She knew that pulling a knife now would spell the end of any peaceful negotiations before they even started. She hoped Austin had a plan that she wasn't aware of. In any case, she sat watching, unperturbed from her perch at the bar.

"Shut up," Austin snapped before the bar tender could say anything. Then, in a calm and measured voice, he continued. "I was informed by a dearly departed friend that this was a respectable establishment, but now I think I'm going to sell my half." "I beg your pardon," a well dressed woman interjected. She seemed to appear out of no where and waved off the bar tender. "I resent claims to my property. You do not own anything." "As a matter of fact, I do," Austin replied. "I own her." He jerked Nixie's leash. The woman's eyes flitted to Nixie and widened. "How...how did you get...her?" she demanded suspiciously. "Her previous keeper shuffled off this mortal plane and she needed someone to look after her," he replied. "And naturally, everything that was his is now mine. Her. The money. And the deed to this property." "And you visited me out of the curiosity of your dark and twisted soul," she said skeptically. She pursed her lips. "In that case, why don't you come to my office, and I'll have our other bar tender fix you a fresh drink."

Kaori sat watching. She was surprised that the owner was a female. With the noise in the club it was difficult to hear what they were saying but it was obvious enough with the body language. She was content enough to sit where she was. She didn't know if she was even welcome to follow them. It seemed like the owner was really only interested in Nixie. The fake smile she had on for Austin was blatantly forced. It was a bit disconcerting to Kaori but she figured that if Austin needed her, he would say something. The bartender stalked back over and, with a disdainful look at Austin, went back to cleaning the glasses. He didn't seem too thrilled that Kaori was sitting there but Kaori wasn't focused on him.

Austin stood and looked straight into the woman's eyes. "I'm not thirsty anymore," he replied calmly and suavely. "But I am interested in checking your safe for any...sensitive materials my friend may have left behind. Legally, they do belong to my pet, and I would hate to spend months in court doing what you can achieve in mere moments." "Some men have no endurance," the woman returned. She turned on her heel with military precision. "But if it will get you out of my club sooner, all the better. This way." Austin caught Kaori's eye and discretely gestured for her to accompany them.

Kaori hopped up off the stool and moved gracefully to Austins' side. She looked up at him expectantly waiting for the leash that he had in his hand. She was a bit shaky on her feet after that full glass of whiskey but she had been far tipsier the night before. On instinct Kaori knew not to trust this lady. She decided to keep an eye on her. Something about her made Kaori's fur stand on edge and she usually went with her insticts about a person.

Austin didn't re-leash Kaori. He didn't want to hobble her in case things went south. He led his entourage to the back room, which was more like a VIP lounge with extra plush couches, fetish furniture, and thin veils of see-through fabric draping from the walls. "I don't suppose you have the deed on you," the woman said as she sat gracefully on one of the couches. Almost instantly a slave boy in a body-harness and speedo appeared to serve her a glass of wine. "I knew I forgot something," Austin replied, his tone making it obvious that he didn't "forget." "And I assume that you'll give me the deed in exchange for a peak in my safe--as simple and easy as that?" "More than a peak," Austin chastised. "I need to reclaim any items left behind by my predecessor." "How am I supposed to trust that you'll only claim what's rightfully yours and not try to steal my valuables?" she demanded. "I have no desire to spend more time here than absolutely necessary," he assured her. "Let my pet peak--I don't have to see anything. She'll know what belonged to her last keeper." "I will let the pet look," the woman agreed.

Kaori still didn't say a word when Austin turned around to follow the lady without having leashed her up. She followed behind the group, showing as much apathy to the situation as she did to the bartender. It was unclear to here whether it was the alcohol or just boredom. In fact, Kaori was fighting the tail end of the adrenaline rush she had had earlier that night. She saw the male sub in the room and for a split second she was unable to quell her reaction. The shock on her face faded so quickly that it seemed as if it was all imagined. Her first reaction was to look at the ground and pray she could rid herself of the image that she had just seen. She was mentally berating herself for not having seen this coming. It's only been a few days and you're already slipping...

Austin reached over and unleashed Nixie. He gestured for her to go with the woman. He also caught Kaori's eye and nodded for her to accompany Nixie. "I'll wait here for you," he said to the woman. She nodded her agreement. The owner got up and opened a hidden door in the wall. She waited for the other two to follow her in then shut the door with a click. Then she turned to the girls and sneered. "Your keeper must be stupid to let you out of his sight," she cackled. "My bodyguards will escort him to the hospital. By the time he leaves, he won't even remember you two, which means the deed and everything Sovenn left in the safe is mine."

"Oh I'm sure that he can handle himself." Kaori said with a smirk. The adrenaline had picked back up and it was hard for her to contain the sudden burst of energy. "That big old cowboy out there is retired special forces." She said while stepping out of her shoes. She smiled wide and continued "Would you like to see the nice gift he gave me earlier today?"

The woman smirked at the little fox girl and snapped her fingers. A hulking brute appeared from behind a door concealed by a full-length mirror. He was taller, broader, and more muscled that Austin. His eyes had a dull look and his slack jaw indicated either a lower-than-average IQ or heavy drug use (or both.) The vibrations from his footsteps could be felt through the plush carpeting.
"Boris, collect my new merchandize," she ordered.
Nixie sprank into action. She laid a soothing hand on his chest (she almost had to stand on her tip-toes to do it) and looked up at the man with her enchantingly large eyes.
"You don't want to do that," she murmured in a sing-song voice. "You like us too much to lift a finger to harm us. You want to protect us."
Under Nixie's siren spell, the brute nodded slowly and turned to his mistress. He crossed his arms and planted his feet. Nothing was going to get through him.
Nixie glanced back at her partner. "The b***h is all yours."

Kaori nodded to Nixie. It was surprising to her that Nixie was able to take care of herself like that. She had been under the impression that Nixie was the one that needed protection but it looked to her like she had it under control. Regardless of Nixies abilities with men, it was time to teach this lady a lesson for playing games with them. Kaori wasn't used to not having knives in her sleeves and she was wondering how long she could go before drawing one of her new ones. She saw the woman lunge at her and knew it was her chance. She avoided the attack and with a sweep, had her on her back with a knife to her eye. "So, now you're going to tell us the combination to your safe or you'll lose your eyes one at a time."

The owner heaved a shaky sigh as she realized she didn't have any options. She gave the location and the combination of the wall safe, hidden behind a classical painting of a nude woman. Nixie left the body guard to open the safe. Inside there were the usual stacks of cash, a few envelopes of pictures that were probably used to blackmail important and/or wealthy people. There was one with pictures of Sovenn. Nixie took that one. But her seal skin wasn't in there. "That's it," she said, waving the envelope of incriminating photos.

Kaori looked at the money with lust but decided it wasn't worth it. She stood up and sheathed the knife again. It was a bit disappointing to her that she hadn't gotten to use the knife in any capacity but she promised herself she would do some practicing soon. She walked over to the door and unlatched it and opened it up. Austin's safety wasn't the greatest concern because she knew he could handle himself but it was important for her to make sure he was alright.

Austin sat exactly as they left him, but two men were on the floor at his feet; one unconscious, one with a dislocated shoulder. "Is that all?" he asked, sounding bored. "Yes, master," Nixie said with a wink.

"Too bad right?" Kaori picked her heels up and closed the door with the lady and her thug behind it. "Bit disappointing really." It had been hard for her to leave the money behind. That much money was enough for her to live on for a whole year. "Shall we go?"
