Ryuu would never manage to get a bite out of the Voltorb however, instead receiving a mouthful of Signal Beam which dissipated quickly. Never one to give up easily the Voltorb would try again, releasing another Signal Beam!
Despite the fact that both attack, neither hit. The Larvitar watched as the Voltorb shot forth another Signal Beam, trying to spear him down with it. The Larvitar began weaving back and forth, trying to avoid the oncoming attack! Whew, this battle was long and tiring..
The Larvitar let loose a roar of pain. This battle was exhausting. The pain made him see red and the anger was starting to simmer to boiling point. Letting loose his rage, the Larvitar charged aiming to Bite down on his opponent and cause him double the pain he had landed!
"Turbine Charge Up!" Snow would call out, finally seeing fit to give out commands once more. Without a single word of his own the Voltorb would begin rotating, and as he did sparks would begin to fly about his spherical body. Were he to possess an electric move this would have been incredibly dangerous; versus a Larvitar however it was hard to see the point!
The attack had done well. The Larvitar stared at the Voltorb as it started sparking a bit. Since the other pokemon hadn't chosen an offensive move, he simply stood there watching.
"Discharge Dance!" Snow called out from the sidelines, a broad grin on her face. In response to the command the Voltorb would begin wobbling back and forth, rotating at high speed but managing to move in the process. The result was that the electricity covering his body would begin to fly, showering the area with a cloud of sparks which while completely useless in terms of power obscured the Electric-Type from sight making him that much harder to hit!
This was perfect. Despite the fact that the Voltorb was spinning and sparks began flying, he started charging forward. The sparks would pass harmlessly against his thick skin. It wouldn't penetrate the rocky hide. Instead he focused, eyes staring intently at the spinning ball trying to figure out the best way to hit. Without further ado, he aimed to Bite down intently on his opponent!
Yet with his thoughts so focused on the sparks ability to penetrate his skin, he never once considered what they could do to his far moister eyes. Though harmless, a small jolt would penetrate, likely giving the Larvitar quite the surprise! It would be at that time the Voltorb would cease his near stationary rotation and roll far and away from his rocky adversary. "Turbine Grind!" Snow commanded from the sidelines, her commands failing to get any more normal as the battle raged on. The next moment Turbine would come spinning back, intent on smashing his spherical body in to the side of Ryuu in a Tackle!
The Larvitar winced. The sparks had momentarily blinded him. Ruefully, he regretted the rash decision of charging in. This battle wasn't going too well. Instead he watched as the Voltorb resumed it's spinning. Of course it was going to charge towards him. Irritation surging through him, he growled but raced to avoid the oncoming attack!
While not exactly a clean hit, still the spinning Voltorb would colid with his rock skinned foe, taking a nice chip out of the Larvitar's hide. He may want to rethink his strategy. Rather than ceasing his spin however Turbine would just keep turning, rotating as he continued to move forward and away from Ryuu!
The Larvitar looked at his opponent. His health was slow going down but now wasn't the time to give up. Just as he was preparing to attack, Momo stumbled forward. She was letting him battle this one out but she'd be thrown out of her stupor standing over in the distance. In her hand, she had a potion which she quickly sprayed on the Larvitar's wounds. The quick healing effect would be almost instant and he felt immediately better.
POTION USED. RYUU HEALED 20 HEALTH POINTS. RYUU IS AT FULL HEALTH. 5/23 -----> 23/23 Starter Pokemon: Larvitar [Male] Name & Level: Ryuu, 6 [Temperament] Quiet Stats: HP: 23/23, PP: 22, ATK: 14, DEF: 12, SPD: 9, SP. ATK: 13, SP. DEF: 12 Moves: Bite, Leer, Sandstorm Exp: 305/500
"Alright Turbine aim for his flaws, Signal the Charge!" Snow ordered, once more taking command of this battle as her Voltorb abruptly halted it's spinning. Large eyes narrowing the Voltorb would begin rolling brow over chin toward his opponent, picking up momentum swiftly as his body began to glow in an inconsistent rainbow of hues. When he got close the Electric-Type would bounce in to the air, releasing a Signal Beam at startlingly close range! If Ryuu wasn't quite he'd get more than a face full of lasers!
The Larvitar was a bit close for comfort. Maybe a bit too close. The pokemon stared at the Voltorb watching as the lasers began and then aimed to shoot at him. Should he flee or fight? The decision was pounding through his thoughts as he stopped to think. Now wasn't the time to ponder the decision however. Instead he charged, aiming to dodge in between the lasers and counter with Bite!
((I apologize for needlessly pointing this out Riku, however there is no 'inbetween', the Signal Beam is not coming from his eyes and I never once lead anyone to believe as such. The power is generated from his entire spherical body, and shot from what is essentially his entire face.))
(20 - 9) + (14 - 14) = 11 DMG + Flinch
Despite having nothing to dodge through the Larvitar's plan would, quite surprisingly, succeed without flaw. As the Ground-Type's teeth sank in to Turbine's thick outer shell the Voltorb would flinch, sending stray sparks rippling across the floor as he attempted to pull away. Escape was secondary, first he needed to get loose!
