[Eight]

As the mindflayer nuzzled at her head she giggled and closed her eyes, finding this much more acceptable over the Riley that had been starting to make her uncomfortable. She was even speaking in first person again instead of second. This was the Riley she knew. Maybe she really just had been tired or stressed. It had to be something like that. "Pfft! We're the president and vice president. We can make our own special rules~." She paused, grinning. "I'm kidding."

This game was addicting? Huh! Okay! Seiji had been trying to get her into his video games lately but she just wasn't any good at them, so she didn't really enjoy playing them. Watching was fine, however!

Riley had failed so quickly. How?! Couldn't Riley do everything? Sigh. But nevertheless she attempted it.

Hey! This wasn't so ba--oh.

...Well then.

"Is there anything you don't fail at?" The Mistress sighed. She'd been quiet this whole night so far but this was ridiculous.

"This game cheats. The pacman was nowhere near me when that happened..."

Riley linked arms with Junko and led her back to the front of the room. I agree, the game is broken. I will have it destroyed by morning.

After leaving the tables Muka wandered back to the games area. He didn't quite want to go back to the formal party floor for fear of being punched again by whatever hulking monstrosity hit him the first time.

He approached the candy machine and turned the lever.

"Nightmare." He said out loud with a giggle. He dropped it into his pocket to hold onto. It didn't really look very tasty.

If anything the strix was consistent. He went wild on the whack-a-hunter and still managed to get the exact same score he got the last time. He'd been hoping to do better but the punched side of his head was still puffy and sore and it made it rather hard to concentrate. When he moved away from the machine he noticed another stray seed. Hurray!

[ GHOST MAN - LVL 1 ]

Muka never had much luck with video games but he was eager to try for the sake of killing time. He wondered if Joachim was done at his table and perhaps they could talk. He hadn't danced yet either but the thought of touching a ghoul brought an ache to the side of his head.

Video games were a safer alternative.

Unfortunately for Muka, he lost at the last second and a giant flashing GAME OVER reinforced his lack of gaming skills.

The strix simply shrugged and finally headed back to the main floor.

"Humans?" He echoed, raising an eyebrow; honestly, while he was aware that many of the school's students were probably aiming to get a passport to visit the human world, for most Halloweeners, meeting a human was... Something that most people wouldn't concern themselves with. Immediately, what Hel told him - about the supposedly mystical Hunters - came to mind, and he paused, turning serious suddenly, "Are humans that frightening to you, Amphi? It had always been Halloween's job to scare them... Not the other way round."

He lightened up almost immediately after, chuckling at her comment and kiss for his familiar, "My, my... It seems like you're popular among the ladies, Biskoto." He then turned to look at Amphi, giving her another one of his looks - you know, that face - before sighing wistfully, "What? None for me?" He might not be grinning, but he obviously was.

Mentally.

"However, we're a two-in-one deal," He continued, now visibly grinning, before giving a nod at her suggestion, "As you wish~"

Biskoto would blush if she could; instead, the kiss was accepted with a happy sounding hiss. She then coiled herself around the back of the ghoul's neck, as if giving her a small hug, before nuzzling her cheek affectionately, "Oh, don't lisssten to him, darling. I'll ssspend time with you whenever you want!" She then withdrew back to the reaper's shoulder, allowing him to lead his date over to the next machine - some sort of a gumball machine. Peering at the little candies inside, he turned the knob, removing the candy that dropped out as a result.

"Heart... Burn?" He held it up, one eye brow raised.

Alright Sin time to whack some hunters! She was hoping to improve on her previous best score of 10, but the little hunters popped up and down so fast that even she didn't have the rage to hit them so quickly. Besides part of her satisfaction was hitting them hard, no gentle bops for them.

As the game started Sin kept up the pace she had gotten used to POP, WHACK, POP, WHACK! Her mallet came down again and again, a few managed to get away but when she looked at her score she was glad to have at least matched it.

All that Hunter whacking had made Sin a little hungry, but before heading off to see what refreshments were being offered she paused at the candy machine. Should she satisfy her sweet tooth here? The messages she had received from the machine thusfar had been rather discouraging. She sighed and moved to take one. 4ever Alone. Wow...she was starting to worry about that if it hadn't been this message it had been the blundered version of this message. She had love, she had Rosc, of course he wasn't here...but that was because he hated parties. She scowled and stalked away from the candy dispenser.

"Oh...Yes humans..." She stared at him before raising her eyebrow....She quieted instantly though. He was newer, he wouldn't understand about the hunters or the fear of them. When they dressed like halloween students and caught them in those FEAR draining nets....when that man came by with his white coat and large scythe. "I..." She looked away, so she could think of just how to reply to the Reaper.

"Humans...Humans are only scary in white coats." She trailed off before shrugging. She wasn't going to tell him after all, she wasn't going to burden him with her fear. So she went to distract him instead.

"Are you jealous?" She smiled up at him before reaching up to pat his cheek. "But we're not a natural pair so you get no kiss on the...uh nuzzle." She blushed, oh god she was blushing so much. Even playing...was so embarrassing and bold. oh jack oh jack.

"Two in one?" She blinked before smiling all over again, "Biskoto and I seem to think differently!" She looked over at the candy he pulled out she moved to his side to peer closely at it before shaking it. "I...I would say that your going to get a heart burn....soon yes?" She blinked again before turning the nob.

"King...King of Pain?" She squeaked.

MATCHMAKER MATCHMAKER MAKE ME A MATCH!

Umi walked up to the machine and decided to try her luck. She hopped to get a good love match. She didn't really know any of the selections but hopefully they wouldn't mind getten to know her.

She wasn't sure what the machine was telling her. She squinted at the machine. What was that sticking out of it? Is it lint?  

[Dragain]

"I see," He paused, noting the hesitance in her voice and the way she looked away; while he didn't believe it at first, perhaps there was some truth to the whole 'human' and 'hunter' deal after all. However, with that odd, light feeling in his heart, he really couldn't bear to stay serious for long, "No matter... We are out here to have fun, so leave your worries behind for tonight."

Letting go, he laughed at the 'jealous' comment, his grin widening as he gently cupped his hand around Biskoto's head, guiding her nearer to him before planting a quick kiss where Amphi had kissed her before, putting his own hand over her hand, which was currently on his cheek, "I beg to differ. Besides, I kiss Biskoto all the time, so you just gave me an indirect kiss."

That really wasn't how it works, but he had a feeling that his comment was going to affect her anyway.

"Heart burn soon?" He stroked his chin thoughtfully before popping the candy into his mouth, ignoring the fact that it actually tasted pretty bad, "Challenge accepted. After games, let's go over to the refreshment table?" It wasn't a question though, more like a 'let's go, okay? okay' sort of deal.

"King of pain!" Biskoto repeated with a cheer, liking the sound of that, even if it didn't really fit the mental image of cute, sweet Amphi that she had, "That ssssoundsss fantassstic! Although you really sssshould be... Princess of pain."

She held her breath at his comment before expelling it and smiling again. There was no reason to fear the hunters should they come. This was to be a happy time for Halloween wasn't it? She certainly felt really happy. Especially happier when Thana didn't have such a serious expression.

"No worries then." She sighed softly. Her smile though returned full force when he laughed and watched as he pulled Biskoto for a kiss.

"He...Hey!" She puffed her cheek out as he kissed Biskoto before frowning. The snake had so much game. "Just...Just because she's your familer doesn't mean...." Her face brightened at the mention of a indirect kiss.

THAT WASN'T A KISS, OMG THAT WAS NOT A KISS WHATSOEVER. She and Mac had kissed, she knew what a kiss was, she always knew what a kiss was so this wasn't a kiss. EVEN INDIRECT IT WASN'T A KISS. Well she had kissed Biskoto but not Thana and even if she did kiss Thana, no wait, why was she thinking of kissing Thana now. Barely even knew each other, Biskoto had said as much plus she wasn't ready for that sort of thing...was she? So she should just stop thinking of kissing Thana and-

Of course this was all mental thinking, her outward expression would be something similar to...

"Refreshments?" She was still caught on kisses.

"Princess?" KISSES.

GHOST MAN ROUND 1

"Play hard to get and you might just regret it, handsome-" Pepin reared her head around the corner of the scarecade machine after watching Riley and Junko storm away from it. Seemed like he was testing ALL the ladies amirite?

Pepin cooed with a giggle as the machine prompted the next person to step up and play. Oh how she wanted to cheat! But what fun would there be in that? She COULD DO IT but...

The glitch ghoul was simply infatuated with the older device. Maybe she actually couldn't hack something so old and simple? Either way that was... dirty work she'd rather do later under the machine's consent.

Starting up another round she managed to get oh-so close to the second level but watched as the machine bested her once more. "Aaaahaha! What the Jack makes you tick? You are just a delight.." Pepin blinked then grabbed a scrap of paper and a marker from one of the nearby tables.

Left on the panel of the scarecade machine was a pink construction-paper heart with a messy number etched in sharpie.
