This time, when the rifle was shot, the bullet went far and wide, embedding itself into a far wall and dissipating.
Then Gale made a hasty exit away from the presents still attempting to use his leg as a chew bone.

Three was a good number indeed. Deryk stabbed and slashed them all to oblivion without much of a hitch. As far as he was concerned, he was doing better than Reine. But he wasn't paying too much attention right now. He had more presents to 'open'.

...They weren't looking at her, they were looking up her dress. Her eyes widened and she took a huge step back away from them. They followed dutifully, one of them even tried to latch onto her ankle.

Wilson stared longingly at the presents in Julie’s hands. Man. He wanted those presents. His gaze was still glued to the presents even when they started coming to life and attacking everyone. It didn’t really strike him to actually start beating them down until an entire swarm of the dastardly things tackled him. “OOF!”

At this point, Deryk was getting really worn down. He felt he had one last go at this, and thus he flung himself towards a large group of gifts. Might as well try to make this count.

All was well - until things went horribly wrong. She had been expecting that though, which was why she quickly reached into the slit of her dress and pulled out her weapon's desummoed form, which had been wrapped around her thigh and staying there with magic, just as a group of presents started to hop towards her while making squeaking noises.
"PRESENTS, I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU," She pointed at them dramatically, her weapon letting out a brief flash of light before turning into the bolas as she got ready to strike, "I WILL OPEN YOU ALL."

But they wouldn't go away!! Ordinarily presents coming to you was good, but not if they were ripping up your feet! At some point in time Reine stopped giggling, because it hurt more than it tickled.

Having finally decided enough was really quite enough, Reine serioused up a little bit and slashed all the presents to bits. She usually peeled wrapping paper off very very carefully so as not to rip it, but it seemed like these presents weren't real presents.. so she felt a little less guilty.
