Like the ones- you know? El Greco raised a brow. He knows that being a new student around here that one would miss a thing or two in orientation, but not about red cloaks and all. Getting lost in painting hunting didn't help him either.

"Yes... red!," said the slimer as he rubbed his chin.

"I think I did see a red cloak in the middle of it all, but it was too far, I'm not too sure."

He took note of their faces, and felt like they were lost as he was.

Lacie looked at the hooded figure with curiosity, her emotions flickering with his words. Like all the other students, she wondered of his arrival or his connection to their current situation.

She didn't speak throughout the interaction, not surprising for the quiet reaper who often observed rather than participated.

The colors her sleeve had her glancing back at him. There was something.. something that she needed to remember. But as he spoke again, Lacie didn't feel the suspicion creep into her. He wasn't familiar to her, his words weren't even making sense. "..?" She looked to Vaith to see if he could answer her questions. But some people already had an idea. It didn't cross her mind to dodge the attack, as the swift move was beyond her comprehension. She was thrown back, her light form skidding across the field.

Her limbs slightly aching, Lacie panted for breath. She looked around, caught between those who ran and those who wanted to stay behind. But instead of thinking too heavily on the matter, Lacie simply followed what she wanted to do, which resulted in her running after the hooded figure. But it didn't stop her from following, tripping along the way. There were several reasons why. It was her classmate, even if she didn't know. But she had questions that needed to be answered. As she followed, her feet gave way beneath her, her surroundings becoming disoriented in the reaper's eyes. And she disappeared.

Moure had been standing near the back for some time, watching as everything unfolded. He'd originally come to chase down Danny, but the red-cloaked figure had soon drawn his attention. They didn't seem to be like those that had attended Red's real funeral. Something was wrong here.

The thing the figure had sent off had smacked the patchwork off his feet, and he managed to get up to see people starting to react. The figure apparently wasn't of the friendly sort.

It didn't help that soon after the figure stole one of their classmates. As people gave chase, Moure hung behind to try and find Danny. He couldn't see her anywhere, which led him to believe that perhaps she had already given chase herself.

He held back, trying to decide if he should run off and inform the faculty of a student being stolen, or give chase. Finally, the patchwork tore after the figure himself. He didn't know if this was a good idea or not, but he had to do something.

Arel knew for a fact that a couple of the Trick-or-Treaters, who had respected Red as much as the professors, had been rather enthusiastic proclaiming her memory. It could have easily been one of them - perhaps Nox running around trying to make a fool of himself blowing things up-

-but what purpose would have served?

Or, it could be, as the other ninety percent suggested as he looked at all the warning signs, a Hunter infiltration. Hunters had invaded Halloween before, this was fact, but they never openly infiltrated Amityville to this degree. He hesitated, uncertain, as the two students waited on him to make a decision.

There was no use charging in blind: Arel was not Red, he was at the best slightly threatening and no match if there were indeed Hunters. He turned to Barth, glancing between the sloth demon and the slimer. "Have you seen the horsemen heirs at least?" If there was indeed an attack, he couldn't go in Fear blazing hoping everything would be okay: this was a very delicate subject, and he was unfortunately one of the few non students who was sympathetic towards this cause. It was a sad place they lived in where the foreign horsemen were his best bet to fight.

And because someone had to try and fill those missing shoes.

Tomoko wrung her skirt out, even as she loomed back at the gym, seeming to brighten up just a bit when the Ice Demon made his appearance, though she didn't smile. She just..looked nervous.

"They went in and nobody has come out.." she said sadly, ears drooping as her tails curled around themselves to compact space with their bulk. Having more tails was complicated, to be honest. What was she supposed to do with all them tails? "Should someone get the school nurse in case things get bad?" She seemed really concerned. "Will Cricket even be awake? Or is she better where she is?"

The kitsune really seemed to be working herself up with worry, and nobody she knew was around for her to fuss at as the situation was.

Mrrrrrr...

She hoped Vaith was alright...

The sense of urgency in Arel's voice did absolutely nothing to ease the half beasts nerves about the situation. Bul did everything he could to overcome his limp and drew close to the Secretary.

"The horsemen went after him even when he knocked us down. The president is also with them," he replied. He'd mention Mei, but tough ghoulfriends were the last of any school officials worries.

"I saw...three of the Horsemen, I think, before I left for the Office," Barth said. "I don't know how many students were here. Thirty-five, Forty. More, maybe."

Malodore had come to the gym too late - it had assumed whatever was going on was some scheme of the Horsemen, some sort of playacting as their plan to teach the students how to fight. Important, yes, but as it never intended to be on the front lines of battle... not entirely relevant.

However, when it arrived to a near-empty gym, with the students who remained buzzing about with clear, genuine anxiety... well. That was when the plague doctor started to feel uneasy about the whole thing. When Arel arrived, it padded over to stand nearby, listening silently to the others speak.

"The horsemen went after him even when he knocked us down. The president is also with them."

... And there it was. Malodore's gaze, behind its lenses, narrowed to slits. Riley - of course she'd have charged into the thick of whatever fray there was. It still didn't know what was going on, but if Riley was in danger, then it cared. It had to care.

"Three horsemen," it said, taking a deep breath for the calming effect. "Is it possible that the cloaked figure was the fourth? That we are worrying only after a game or a practice of sorts?"

It hoped that was true. Could possibly be true. But something in its gut told it otherwise.

"No," Barth said. "Not one of the Horsemen. The cloaked figure was male, and Invi was with us."

Unless Eris's voice had gotten deeper.

"Should I- go try to find Breck? He's- he's good at tracking things, isn't he? We have to find them. They can't be-" he felt the word stick in his throat, "...gone."

Tomoko piped up; "I saw all four of the Horsemen attack the figure." She'd given chase longer than Barth had, so she was able to notice this sort of thing, but still she seemed nervous. "Are the four of them enough to go up against that hunter when our classmates are with them?"

She felt bad doubting them. She'd seen firsthand that they were completely capable, but she also knew that the four of them could be completely off of their rockers sometimes. A lot of the time.

Frankly, between the Hunters and the Horsemen, she didn't exactly feel safe all that much.

"Cent-" The slimer raised a finger to speak, but withdrew it as the others spoke on about these horsemen.
He himself withdrew a little, taking a step or two back. He felt a little stupid. He thought they were talking about "horse" men or centaurs. He began to regret leaving the orientation group to closely look at the paintings they passed by. Wonderful pieces, but not so helpful right now. He wondered what else he missed.

But they cannot come here. Halloween is meant to be safe, Malodore thought, desperately, but did not say. It had always believed that. It wanted to always believe that. Amityville itself was meant to be safe, at least from outside influences. The dangers the faculty presented to the students were entirely different, of course. Expected. It would have rather fought an entire farm's worth of Steve than accept that Hunters could be here. Right now.

Its brain wouldn't stop babbling at it, a nonsensical mix of English and Italian that mostly came down to but what if they have those pendants, what if they took them all far far away and-

Such babbling was useless, and would not be shared with anyone else. "They cannot have gone far," it said, the words sounding stupid and pithy even to itself.

Thirty four students following a red-cloaked figure. Perhaps if it was one of the Horsemen but even then, why would they go beyond the forest outskirts. The secretary tried his best to see beyond the ominous black shadows of the forest. Nothing exceptional.

"They could have gone anywhere at this point," he finally concluded right after Malodore. And that was about pretty much far as his deduction got. "Anyway, look you are students and this isn't your problem, not to mention its probably just a small prank or s-"

The secretary got as far as the 'o' in 'something' as the forest he had been eyeing yards away literally burst into blue flames like a controlled explosion. He didn't even know why he was running towards the fire - in general a bad idea for Ice Demons - but there was something that told him things had just gone from very bad to Even Possibly more Worse.

Arel stopped at the edge of the forest, still thick with flames, simply staring at the burning forest, shocked, unsure what to do next. What in Jack's name was

- what was

- how

- why

He simply stood there in his stupor.

Fire-

Malodore staggered backwards as every instinct the undead had screamed at it to back the jack up. That sheer instinctive terror met and blended with the shock of fear for its comrades. Its friends.

Its Riley.

"We have to go back," it blurted out, already a good thirty feet from where it had been when the flames erupted. "We have to go back now." Nothing could have survived that. Nothing.

Which meant it had a pretty good idea where, Jack willing, the students now were.

Bul followed Arel the best he could shaking his head when the Secretary dismissed their concern as a prank. Though he didn't need to say anything once the flames erupted in the distance.

He clutched his chest and looked around startled, panicked, scared. "s**t... Jacking.. Jacking s**t what was..."

He knew that fire. He knew that fire quite well. He also did not appreciate seeing it on SCHOOL GROUNDS. Something flipped in his mind and he had to do everything in his power not to start going hysterical. Best that he stuck close to the boils and it for now.

He wished he had a camera then. It was full of movement. It was full of energy. It was full of light. It truly was explosive. The slimer wished he could have captured the moment in all its glory, or perhaps in this case, it’s devastation. The smile appeared on his lips, well a tiny grin at least. He was lost in the moment; a good five minutes.

Maybe it was a good idea to find shelter, but when El Greco finds something visually appealing to him, he never looks away. Though “appealing” to the ghost has various meanings, and nearly mood dependent, but this was something he has never seen, and didn’t want to miss anything.

“Oh no.” But of course, after the next five minutes, he was conscious and it sunk it. “The others…”
