OMEGA:Some serious things to think about.

User Image

"Yeah yeah yeah. The scientific classification bullshit someone decided was what it was to be. The x gene is the only difference. Hell from what I have heard Beast say there are 'Humans' who have the x gene only dormant." Gideon said the word humans with quotation fingers. It was another pointless arguement to have. His opinion was his that's just how it was she wasn't going to change that nor would be be likely to alter hers. Thus it was pointless.

Gideon let out a sigh. This girl just loved to try and push any and all of his buttons. It was quite annoying. The shifter needed to learn if she wasnted something it wasn't going to come about by her doing her best to gain his ire. "I knew it wouldn't be today since she would have to spend the day around others. If we talked what ever front she holds up for the others wouldn't be there. But she and I will talk soon." It didn't matter what else Kat may of had to say on the matter of his relationship with Bella.

"If Contessa really had any plans with coming here they would of happened years ago. And the main reason she hasn't is any major move she made here would bring in her friends SHIELD. Most likely before what ever she had planned would be accoomplished. We both know there are certainly things here she would find to valuable of an asset to simply destroy. She is a greedy b***h." Gideon stated. From his encounters with the woman in his time there it was clear she only did something if she got something out of it. And the resources it would take to wreck this place vs what she would gain by it's destruction far out weighted the gain.

The wind had died down as they argued here on the roof. "The comment was more an analogy the philosophical speculation." That was the truth in how he was using the statement. But for a girl who seemed like she wanted help she sure refused to ask for it in a better way. Thanks to the conditions outside and his focus being on Kat he didn't notice the person(Michelle) that had been watching them. Not that it really would of mattered in the long run.

"I never said I was no longer capable of unspeakable attrocities that would leave other mentally scarred for life to even think about. But I refuse to allow that to be the only thing I can be. And if that is all you see me and probably yourself as then just what are you doing here." Gideon really just didn't get why she was here she claimed it was because he was one of the only ones to leave and live so long away from HYDRA.

He shook his head when she said he was resillent and could heal. "I am fairly certain that if he takes the metal the bones would go with it given the properties that have been said about adamantium. So I am pretty sure I still need my brain connected to my body to regenerate. I could be wrong I really don't know. But I am pretty sure that's the way it is."

"Yeah that's how you were raised to see things. I was raised to be solitary I wasn't raised to believe in pack ideals. Even if from a logical stand point I understand them. That is just not me Kat you just refuse to get that." Really that was the whole argument she said they were a pack and he says they aren't. The girl can believe just because she says that's who things are then that's how they are. But Kat is certainly delusional in that reguard.

He gets that she wants his help. She just isn't asking for it in the right way. It was simple she just had to open her mouth and say the words please and ask for his help straight out. No beating around the bush. Kat would either figure that out or just deal with out. Gideon really didn't care much at the moment. His faith in carring about people is currently extremely low. As she said before people lie and given her past she was incredible likely of that.

Add in earlier how she pushed him over the limit was just another reason the she wasn't worth it. It seemed helping people only caused him problems. Guess that old saying was true no good deed goes unpunished.

Gideon stayed in the spot he was at. He was not going to chase after Kat. The girl would learn to ask for help straight out and plainly or she wouldn't.

Now that Kat was off and a way from him, his focus expanded back out into his surroundings. There was no longer time left to give Bella in putting off their talk. It was time to get to the bottom of just what was going with her and why she was so adament on not being around him. So far beyond missing her, all it's done is damage his faith in people. For him if left him questioning the point of letting people in. If a person who you give yourself to fully and they in turn supposedly did the same to just toss you aside as easily as garbage, what point was there in even having connections like that. And thanks to his run in with Kat earlier a solitary life was seeming like such a better option to what ever his life was right now. All that was left was his talk with Bella to find out exactly what is going on.

Who can you trust in this place?
In whom can I put my faith?
If you're real then show me now--Who you are...
How can I love without grace?
Shine a light on your face...
If you're real then show me now--Who you are...

Isabella was quiet as she listened to Blake return her off handed comments, a small smile lingering in the corners of her lips…She kept her eyes on the woods, her head turned, to hide her amusement with the silken curtain of her hair. With everything that was happening… She felt like she didn’t deserve to smile—Didn’t deserve to feel happiness bubbling up beneath her sternum. Not when she knew that the next conversation she had with Gideon would break both of them into pieces…

It had been avoided…Out of fear. Out of guilt, knowing the pain she was going to cause him… That they couldn’t avoid. It was only the attack at the mall that had truly pushed life into perspective for her… There was no future with Gideon….No matter how many times she’d told herself otherwise…There was nothing to look forward to, but torment. He would remain forever young… And she would wither. What would they do when she was applying for AARP and he still got carded at the theater?

She couldn’t stomach that. Couldn’t fathom that… She wasn’t even sure if she was going to survive the upcoming war long enough to need AARP…Everything in her life had suddenly been turned upside down and she didn‘t know how to adjust. He needed to be around people like Narcissa—Who aged, just as slowly as he did. People that were harder to kill. People who he agreed with…Isabella wasn’t a murderer…She didn’t take pleasure in hurting anyone. Both Gideon and Narcissa would do what was needed with a song in their heart…If it got the job done.

He needed to be on the Omega’s… She needed him, on the Omega’s.

So he wouldn’t be alone forever. So he wouldn’t have to watch her die.

Blake’s teasing…His inherent ability to warm her, to make her smile and laugh—Broke her heart.

“I’m Colombian—Not Mexican. I don’t care about the national border—Or about your low paying, dangerous, American factory jobs.”, Isabella returned without missing a beat, jade eyes lingering on the area’s of the wood that the light from the party inside didn’t touch. Her gaze flickered towards him then, unable to help the jibs that followed. “Texas frowns on inbreeding? How else do you explain our former President Bush? Or the fact that you act like you have one too many chromosomes from time to time…?”

He mentioned that perhaps she should see Texas at some point and that she needed a vacation, and she tilted her head—Seeming to consider it…Before grinning despite herself. Damn him. “If I’m going anywhere for vacation this year, it’s Mardi Gras…”

“I’m getting beads and voodoo dolls.”

She paused, as if this were very important.

“And all of the alcohol I’m legally allowed to have—Before I wind up in jail for hypnotizing crowds into doing the Macarena for kicks and giggles.”

Her smile slipped away then…Her moods ever changing—Like the weather or the waves of the sea…Happiness came and went…Fleeting. She couldn’t keep it…As if it wasn’t meant for her to have. He was more than right… She did need to get away from it all. Fighting was all she’d known for years now… She had little time for herself—Or for her music, something most precious to her.

When they’d been in classes together, years ago, she wrote three songs a day…Both vocals, and instrumental…She’d clear her schedule so that she could record them, and tweak the sounds to her liking—Producing a radio quality CD by months end…

Things like that didn’t happen anymore. No drawing, no painting, no music, no dancing…No life. None.

Were it anyone else calling her sweetheart, she might have given them a dirty glare in warning… But it was just one more colloquialism that she’d come to know about the molecular manipulator. It couldn’t be taken anymore personally, than Narcissa calling someone ‘love’. Isabella doubted the woman loved anyone, or anything—Except herself. And that was only if her black little heart could stand such an insipid notion.

Isabella would never admit that she found Blake handsome out loud—Never to his face. Not even over her dead body. She could picture his ego swelling so large that he got stuck in the double wide doorway to the foyer in the Academy. And somehow, he would blame that on her.

“I call you Nene when, and where I please. Deal with it.”, she responded flippantly, tossing her hair habitually over her shoulder when the soft wind blew it out of place. Her smile only widened when she watched him shudder in reference to his sexual orientation. “No…That would be your fault—For not explicitly explaining to me, that under no certain terms, do you enjoy garden snakes.”

“You could hardly blame me… I just figured that any guy that pretty would play for the other team.”
, the songstress responded with mock innocence…Only to realize that she’d called him pretty. Double damn… Maybe he wouldn’t notice that Pretty, after all, wasn’t the same thing as handsome. Her eyelashes fluttered with the simple intention of distracting him and changing the subject. It was something she’d gotten good at in recent years…Distraction, and evasion. It had diffused many an argument.

“Your mother wouldn’t have to know she was a man. Some of the shape shifters here are very good.”, Isabella returned… Again, feeling her stomach clench. The thought of someone that could change their shape lately didn’t sit well with her. Both with the new Alpha girl that clearly disliked her for some reason… And the all too fresh memory of Mystique pulling a fast one and lodging a bullet in her shoulder. “You could always adopt and just…Stay away for a year or so.”

She relaxed when he stated that her head would do just fine as it was…Not catching the implication at all. Bella nodded when he mentioned that he could pass for a human…For that matter, so could she. But there was always a chance of something going wrong outside of Xavier’s walls…X-Men just couldn’t watch others be hurt. Not when they could do something about it. Their powers came to light because they were incapable of ignoring the helpless…

Isabella knew herself, that she couldn’t ignore someone in trouble. She couldn’t trust herself, to stay out of human problems.

Not when she could be the solution that kept others from getting hurt.

She smiled when he offered to order out, and pop in a move, her body leaning reflexively towards him in an affectionate motion. She didn’t think anything of it as she wrapped her arm through his for a moment, a silent hug and thank you. It would be so normal to… Sit in the lounge and watch a few movies with a friend. She hadn’t done that in…Years, it felt like. Not since Evelyn left for Muir again…

“I’d like that.”

She frowned when he mentioned that some of the student body had thought him off the market. Why would they think? He flirted as easily as he breathed. “We were having important conversations…”

“Or private, personal conversations… I didn’t need little gossiping ears around for.”
, though Bella supposed that it really wasn’t their fault for not knowing the topic of the conversations…Usually she wrapped a bubble of total silence around them. It was one way…They could hear, but those standing outside of it couldn’t hear them. She could see that they might have thought other things… But really... Private conversations deserved to be private. Although there were times when she did it for funny moments too…Just because she wanted to be left alone.

She wasn’t sure if Blake knew that.

The Siren sighed when Blake mentioned the other teams, shaking her head…She knew how Scott and Emma thought. “You’ve experience. They’d put you on one of the teams that clocks the most field time…And since you’re not with me…You’re with her.”

The way she said ‘her’ was almost as if she’d turned the thought of the blond into a curse…Over the years, relationships between herself and Narcissa had only worsened…It took quite abit to get beneath Bella’s skin. It was clear that her limit had been reached.

Her emerald eyes flickered to Blake’s face, hand reaching up to touch his shoulder…Trying to show that she wasn’t upset with the team he’d been assigned to. He couldn’t help that… But he would need to face the reality that he’d most literally just been sold into slavery. “Things have changed while you were gone. If you’re an Omega…You’ve just slipped into the dark ages. Watch, and observe…You’ll see… It’s like Alice in Wonderland…Except Alice died in the first meeting with the Queen of Hearts.”

“It’s very…Off with his or her head.”
, she amended quietly…Growing more and more unhappy, the more they discussed the team situation. She didn’t like the idea of anyone treating Blake that way… Gideon he knew, could hold his own. He’d held it time, and time again against the Red Queen… She actually even seemed to like him… But Blake would be…A plaything.

A transfer wouldn’t come soon enough.

Bella looked at Blake strangely when he asked about them being chased out of the woods—And again her cheeks were lit on fire as she slapped her forehead. “I didn’t mean together, Nene…And I didn’t mean at Prom… And I didn’t mean doing…That.”

Of all the things she couldn’t unhear….He just had to remind her of the kids she’d initially heard. Again she started rubbing her ears, as if they hurt. It almost done. Her stomach, at least.

“Old and boring? You’ve been old and boring for years…What, missed that memo?”, she snarked back, grinning at him in the darkness for a moment. She appreciated his silence as she listened for the newcomer…Her expression smoothing itself as she stepped out of the cover of the tree to see Leo. Blake advised him to one of her varied weaknesses and she smacked him in the arm. “Don’t give him any ideas!”

Bella’s blush only deepened when both boys called her on her slip, and she worked her jaw for a moment, trying to distract herself as she coughed into her arm, clearing her throat. “I’ll be sure to keep that in mind.”, she drawled back to Leonardo, settling her glare on Blake.

She didn’t take Leo seriously…He was sweet—And handsome…But just like Blake…They were only teasing. They were friends, and in one case, a team leader. While the men introduced themselves, she worked on getting her blush to go down, cool hands coming to cover warm cheeks for a moment. Oh, this was embarrassing.

Blake was going to be the death of her.

When Leo chimed in that Cissa would make him worship her, she tossed her hand towards him—As of to say ‘I told you so’ with a pointed look in Blake’s direction. Bella was genuinely worried… She didn’t want Cissa to fry him for saying something off.

Her eyes rolled when Blake mentioned his date, her arms crossing. “Well you didn’t ask me about mine either.”

Leonardo’s last comment caused her to throw her hands up in the air—An almost animalistic growl coming from her. Jaguar, to be precise. No one needed to chase her out of the woods…Especially, not with Blake. “All right….I’m done—You two are evil. I give up”

Bella gave them both dirty looks as she stomped back towards the promenade, grumbling under her breath.

Thomas' smile when she snuck up next to him, linking arms, made her laugh, bouncing on the balls of her feet for a few steps in clear enjoyment that she'd gotten him. He rubbed the hair on his cheeks and chin as she called him out on his scruff, which made her chuckle once more. His expression reciprocated the happiness she showed on her own visage, eyes focusing on him as he responded to her quips and observations. As he passed partial blame for their not spending as much time together back to her, Tara brought her other other had to rest on her chest, a playfully shocked expression settling on her features.

"Moi? Now, just because I'm passing all of my classes, training with the Alphas and running interference at exploding malls, while looking fabulous after weeks of preparation - ok, I see your point." She cast him an amused look, the conversation turning back to his facial hair. He blamed his long hours in the infirmary, the brunette laughing when he mused about how easy his life would be without the fact that his blood was a valuable resource around here. Giving his arm a stiff pinch, she gave him a stern look, though it melted almost as quickly.

"Now, that's not funny. You're blood is like liquid gold around here - we all need your bodily fluids," she responded with an amused smirk, leaving the statement intentionally open-ended. She knew he was kidding, but that didn't mean she couldn't have her own fun, right? After all, she had a reputation as the girl with the perpetual comeback. There was no sense letting that go now. There passed a moment of silence between the former teammates, broken by his voice informing her that he had officially taken a position on the Alphas, so their current predicament wouldn't be a problem anymore.

"Thomas, that's amazing! I'd say congratulations, but it seems like 'about time' is the better response. Feels good to know that the Omegas don't get all the cute ones," she said with a smile, giving his arm a little squeeze in jest. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't glad to see another familiar face on the Alphas. Most of them were pretty cool, but she was missing many of her old friends. This would be the perfect situation - he would no doubt be an advantage for the other team members, which was obviously in her best interest, but now she would get to spend more time with him as well. Win-Win. Of course that meant hat she was going to have to share him with the other team members. But, he seemed excited to work with his new team, and he had the good sense to compliment how she looked that evening.

"You're too sweet. Oh, who are we kidding, I look damn good. Thanks for noticing," she responded with a knowing smile. He would understand her humor - probably one of the few that would really get it. The sound of the music changed, silver fabric rustling as she twisted around and linked the opposite arm with him, stepping backwards so she was facing him.

"So, did you come stag, or is there some bright-eyesn, bushy-tailed doe I need to be looking out for?" She actually had no idea what his type was, considering she'd never seen him date anyone, but that didn't mean she was any less curious. After all, it wouldn't be right if she were hanging on to another girl's date. Tara may be considered a b***h by some people, but she tried to be a principled one.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Orchid shook her head gently, giving the floramancer a warm smile. ”There’s no need for thanks, dear,” she responded with a pleasant tone that very few ever got to hear from the hair manipulator. Her roommate had proven a valuable friend in the short time they’d spent together, for which the Latina was more than grateful. What kind of person would she be if she was not there for the girl when she needed her support? Frankly, she’d be a human, and absolutely nothing could disgust her more than that. ”As I said, I’m here to help.” She offered her a wry smile that she no doubt by now knew to expect with an accompanying perverted comment. ”If you really wanna thank me though, I’d be more than happy to accept a more physical expression of gratitude.” She followed the remark with another wink and an air kiss.

Perhaps it wasn’t a good idea to hit on every girl that walks in a school full of mutants; but hey, a girl had to have her hobbies, and Farren was certainly her type and more. Besides, if Twilight fandom had taught her anything, it’s that all straight girls are really closet case lesbians; they absolutely had to be lesbians to drool over a man as girly as Edward Cullen.

”Oh yeah,” she responded matter-of-factly to Farren’s comment about their ‘father’ being a terrible lay, to the point where their ‘mother’ had to get her rocks off from not one, but two separate lovers. ”She only stuck around with him because he was stinkin’ rich and bought her many cars… as well as gardeners and hair stylists,” she added with a chuckle. ”Really, it was his fault for hiring a Latino gardener with perfect abs and a very open metrosexual packing heat.” It probably should have disconcerted her that she had the image so readily available to invoke, and it probably should have disconcerted her even more that this was her idea of a proper marriage. As it stood though, she was more than happy with her attitude toward the deal.

Orchid did not mind at all when Farren began singing the familiar tune from Wizard of Oz. The action more or less elicited a chuckle from the girl, as she was fine with acting so silly around a friend. ”Oh hush,” she responded with a laugh. ”If you don’t sing it, I will. Only reason I’m not skipping is because I’m wearing heels and long dress, otherwise I’d be all over it.” Why was it that whenever women had to go to a function whose sole purpose was dancing, that they felt the need to restrict their movements as much as possible by wearing such clothing? Oh well, it looked good, and Orchid moved just fine if she did not get too much elevation for whatever reason.

While she did notice that Farren was a little more liberal tonight than usual, she would have never picked up any fear that she may have felt. It was only natural for the girl. There was always a chance that the two would hear some bad news that they were not ready for, and fear of the unknown was something that came natural to most people, human sheep and mutant alike. It was all the more reason to go along with her good friend, and be a celebratory drinking buddy, or a shoulder to cry on if necessary; whichever role the night called for, she was okay with it. She just wanted to be there for someone who’d proven herself to be a friend.

Orchid smiled at the floramancer, posing with the gun as if she was a Bond girl or one of Charlie’s Angels. She let out a soft laugh at her exaggerated response before placing the rather large weapon back on the cart she got it from. She stepped back over to Farren’s spot, noting how her expression softened while picking up what looked like an old, beat up communicator not entirely unlike her own. She was a smart girl, and it did not take more than a few moments to put two and two together. It was, from her guess, the floramancer’s old communicator from her previous stint on the X-Men. In essence, any proof that she was indeed a member of the team was right there. So why in the hell was it that no one even knew who the hell she was, and that her file was nowhere to be found? Nothing made any sense.

She placed her hand on the floramancer’s shoulder in a comforting gesture, but before she could say anything the floor beneath them was rocked and a deafening explosion came from around the corner. ”Wasn’t me, I swear,” she said without missing a beat as Farren shot her a glance. Quickly her friend jumped into action, with Orchid in step behind her. The hair manipulator stayed silent as Farren called out to Forge, fanning away any smoke that got in her face. She crouched below the smoke, tugging at Farren to follow, and squinted to only see the vague form of a man lying on the ground trying to fan whatever smoke there was away. Without hesitation she extended two long thick tendrils of hair from the back of her head to wrap around the man’s chest. She dragged the man over to her position, confirming that it was indeed Forge upon seeing his face. ”So, Forge,” she said between coughs. ”You just had to test those bombs face to face? Dummies are just too much for the X-Men budget, huh?”

Jacen’s mouth curved into its characteristic lopsided grin, listening as Marcel corrected his mistake. “My apologies for mispronouncing it, I’m not very good with names at all.” He said, raising his eyebrows as if he were shrugging.

Huh, another person who didn't know what prom was? For as socially inept as Jacen felt with mainlanders, sometimes it seemed as though he was just as much of an expert on their culture than they were. He supposed the ignorance of customs was a byproduct of being on the receiving end of mutant hatred for years, and secluded into relative bubble of the academy, but he had to wonder sometimes. “Meh, I get that, most everyone else asked someone, and evidently being the ‘third wheel’ is not as helpful as the metaphor makes it sound…”

Jacen intertwined his fingers and cracked his knuckles, walking along the direction Marcel had been going, not one to stand idle during chitchat. “Close enough really.” He replied to Marcel’s guess at his name, before realizing he probably would need to give a correction. “Same problem I had with yours I guess, just replace that s with a c.”

“But I’m with you, I rather look for the adventure being obscured by the formal events.” As Jacen walked, the targets of his attention resembled a squirrel’s. He was glancing into bushes, through windows, and up at the building looming over them. It was probably good he had come, he still needed to finalize whether he was even going to college next year, or stay at the academy as full-time Omega. He’d probably end up with college, but it was nice to see the campus first.

“So what’s your power Mar-Cell?”

Kerrigan smiled at Roland's chuckle in response to her cootie comment, glad to see that her point apparently came across. He mentioned that he had simple been biding his time before making his move, the redhead raising one eyebrow with an amused grin as he placed his hand gently on her side as they continued to dance. Her body fell into step with his, twisting, rolling and dipping with the music. She had to admit that she was having fun, but she would never admit that this was the first time she'd danced with a man since Jack, which really just did not end well. Finding those thoughts creeping into that pretty red head of her, Kerrigan immediately pushed them out, smiling at her date and renewing her focus on him. After all, what kind of date thinks about another man while on date?

'A bad one," she thought to herself with a small internal grin - arm draping over his shoulder as they danced. Being care-free was always short-lived however, and as she saw Narcissa and Felix approach Raine and Aren. She muttered that it was trouble to see that group together, green eyes moving to Roland as he agreed with her and offered to give them a little distraction. For a second, the ginger was confused, feeling his hand positions shift and her center of gravity begin lowering to the floor. Most girls would likely have clung to him for dear life for fear that her butt could be making hard contact with the floor any second. The thought momentarily crossed her mind that perhaps that was his intention. But Kerrigan was a trained fighter, and she knew that she was in capable hands since Roland was as well. If ever there were a pair that could execute the perfect dip on a whim, she had every faith that it would be the two of them.

Given the slim fit of her dress, it was truly a marvel of flexibility as she was lowered to the ground, the confidence in his grip matched by the light hold she maintained on the back of his neck and his supporting arm. Releasing a soft laugh, she shook her head ever so slightly as the sound of the music changed.

"We may have the most bizarre DJ on the planet to switch from dance hits to a tango, but I like it. I'll follow your lead, Sir." Her response was laden with amusement, clearing having a good time despite all the earlier craziness. The sounds of a tango, mixed with slightly techno beats took over the dance floor, Kerrigan raising an eyebrow towards him as he lifted her once more, the redhead executing a perfect spin with her arms slipping over his shoulders once more. The rest of the attendees could worry about the drama and the fighting. Kerrigan already had her one charge of keeping her date out of trouble, she didn't need to play mother hen to the rest of them. Even as she saw Aspen move towards the undertoned altercation forming between her roommate and the other couple, Kerrigan decided it was best if she didn't step in to that mess. If someone was going to die by Cissa's hand tonight, there was little this redhead could do to stop it.

Ever hear of the Mutant Tango?

User ImageKerrigan seemed to be confident in his handling of her. And admittedly, he was glad to have that. No one truly was ever confident in his capacity for anything other than violence. He was a fighter, but over the years he'd learned a very different style that occurred between two people: dance. Over the years, Roland learned one very important thing: foot work was the difference between life and death. In Roland's mind, who had the best foot work around? Dancers. But it was one thing to be able to do some hip hop booty-shaking bullshit, but it was the classic dances. The Tango, The Flamenco, there was something in them that Roland had always enjoyed. These two people had to have confidence in themselves and their partners as they worked through a series of steps and beats by which these two people become a flame of passion on the dance floor. So Roland at one point took some dance lessons, even learning a little from Sonya. She had been learning to dance before they ever met, so she taught him what she knew.

It was in that dancing that he came to know her truly.

He heard Kerrigan chuckle and remark about the rather unique song change the DJ went with, Roland only had to smile, "You never know. Maybe I slipped him a twenty and asked him to throw this on. Just enjoy it while it's on." he said to her. The reality was, he was just as confused as she was. The DJ had to be a psychic, or was just had a few screws loose. Granted, the music was beautiful. A fusion of classic and modern music seemed to make sense for what was about to occur. Before they began their dance, he noticed Aspen walk over to his leader. If there was ever a literal definition of throwing fuel into a fire, this was it. That girl was quite the character, one that would likely earn the fiery wrath of his boss in no time.

"I believe I shall take the lead then. Because if this works out, the whole crowd will watch." he said to her as they began their dance. The two of them seemed to move as if they'd done this a hundred times, yet the two of them had only barely spoken to each other beyond this. He spun her about, her hands in a gentle touch. Every move that they made was a further step towards the fires of passion that Roland felt growing within him. His hands worked like magic, the scarred fingers tracing along her body like a lover might. And she was no slouch herself, clearly she was into this as much as he was. She seemed to melt into him, and they moved about the dance floor with something that was akin to the two halves of one whole coming together.

Golden eyes burst out in brightness as he felt his heart skip several beats with each touch she placed on his shoulders. Any more and he may fall dead on the dance floor. Which he frankly could handle right now. This was a night that he had enjoyed, for the first time in a long time, with a beautiful woman. These two warriors seemed at one moment seemed be at peace, no drama, no shennanigans, no insanity.

Just these two people on the floor, dancing, like no one was watching.

They soon finished, the song coming to an end, as he brought his left hand across her hip as she wrapped his leg around him. His right hand was across her cheek, and her arms were around his shoulders, her fingers spread across his back. He had a smile that was a mile wide, his heart was pumping a thousand beats a minute. She could likely hear it based on how close they were. His eyes were as bright as the lights around them, his skull burning in a way that could only be described in his mind as a "good pain".

Part of him wanted to kiss her, but the other half of him was trying to fight back the urge. Talk about being forward, and after what he just pulled earlier it may not bode too well. But part of him was willing to take the risk.

The animal was ready to come out in him.

"Well, I can say that we may have just invented the Tango de Mutant." he said to her, "E vorrei solo che non doveva finire*."

Note, doll... You're the one who brought up the factory jobs...” The Texan trailed off there, allowing the implication to linger. He was equally as quick as she, and the long standing repartee between them had obviously not diminished in the slightest. “I think President Bush actually has some form of autism – not the result of imbreeding.” Blake stated crossly, not missing a beat. Though, he wouldn't say more on the matter – considering his family's reputation and being in close ties with the former governor of Texas. Even as far away as New York, there were ears that could twist the joke into a more derogatory slur... and the conservatives of Texas would falter in their loyalty to his father. “And I do not act in any such way.” Tilting his head, one brow dropped lower than the other. “Some day, someone should sit you down and explain the differences in chromosomes, doll.

Blake nearly choked when she mentioned beads, and instantly he covered his mouth with his fist, faking a cough. He left the voodoo dolls alone – Bella was far too nice of a person to actually put them to use; instead he clung to the idea of his dark haired friend earning Mardi Gras beads. “You do realize how you earn those, right?” Grinning, he couldn't stop himself. “And if that's what you truly want to do, then I'll pay for your trip, and be your escort.” The expression that smeared his features was a bit cheeky – indicating that there likely was an ulterior motive.

She mentioned alcohol, and he laughed just once, shaking his head. “And I'll apparently be around to bust you out of jail.” There was a brief pause before he continued. “As I expect that one to be a rather expensive cost.

The infectious sound of her giggling ceased nearly as quickly as it started... and while he could ease some of her stress temporarily, there were obviously many more problems that simply making her laugh wouldn't cure.

That she'd continue to call him Nene came as no surprise to the molecular manipulator, though it wouldn't be right if he didn't at least try and sway her to choose something a tad less degrading to his masculinity. “I do not enjoy garden snakes, therein lies your problem.” Blake remarked, feigning exasperation. “And it's your fault, doll... that those men could potentially have their hearts broken, what with you leading them on and all.” Touche, little cat.

The soundstress called him 'pretty,' and he pounced on the opportunity. “So you think that, huh?” He asked in what could clearly be marked as mock innocence. “That I had to play for the other team, because I'm... pretty.” The word hung in the air between them. “I think that's the first time you've openly admitted you think highly of my appearance doll... Maybe I should get you some of that alcohol you were just talking about.” He was only teasing with the last, which she would have known... but he felt the need to make it a little more subtle. “You know, to celebrate.” Bella fluttered her eyelashes, but as usual he'd seen past it.

I think I will pass all the same sweetheart.” Something about dating a man just seemed wrong to him – a notion he didn't mind for others, but certainly not for himself. “And you know just as well I can't stay gone for that long, what with my horses back at the ranch.” Every time he needed to recruit in the south... he stopped home before going to the next assignment. ”Plus, the child wouldn't look like me... and my parents would see right through it.” She was under pressure here at the academy, as the leader of one of the higher traffic teams.... He was under scrutiny at home, ever one to walk on eggshells in public, so as to not ruin his father's political career. They were in the same boat on that one.

The molecular manipulator suggested that instead of going out for an evening, that they could pop in a movie and order some take out. “We'll have to do it next time you don't have to babysit the kids.” The kids being, of course... the prom attenders from the younger classes.

We had a lot of important conversations.” Blake said, trying to decide if some of them actually fit the bill.. “And while I wouldn't take back any of them – a few girls got the idea you were trying to keep me for yourself.” Not that it was the truth – far from it. They'd taken different paths... and Bella had chosen Gideon. His relationships had been far less successful... enough so that he needn't make a list of the names. Those days, they'd been friends. And just that. But what with all the inside jokes, the teasing and pranks and the sheer amount of time they'd spent together, rumors flew.

I'm also still a mentor, Bella... I need more time on campus than out in the field.” There would be times, when his fledgeling would need him more than the Omegas. Of that he was sure. And that had been put into his notes for his file. If Narcissa were as harsh as his friend thought her – he doubted that she'd keep him on the team for long.

Giving off a mirthless smirk, Blake took a hold of the hand on his shoulder and gave it a light squeeze before letting go. “I'll manage.” As he always did. Even if she wasn't happy about it – the cowboy would make it through a nefarious leader. “It's a good thing Mom didn't name me Alice, then isn't it?

And if all else failed, he'd request a team change. Emma would protest initially, he was sure. But teams would be on his terms, or none at all. And she would loathe to lose a valuable asset to the school. As she'd mentioned time and again, Blake Tanner... sometimes acted just like Bobby.

He grimaced at the thought of being old and boring, covering his eyes with the span of his head – muttering that he'd need to make a change of pace in the future to reverse the effects of time. She'd hear him – that was the intention, even if he didn't raise his voice until he mentioned she was less exciting than he.

That Bella had to amend herself when he reiterated being chased out of the woods, Blake found endearing – especially the heat surging to her cheeks. “So what did you mean, then doll... as I'm confused.” Not that he was, but it was more fun to pretend. Though, they were interrupted before she could explain – a note that he'd most assuredly remind her of at a later time.

He and Leonardo's introductions were brief, though the Omega quickly decided that he liked the guy, if only for helping him look out for his favorite dark haired Alpha. He couldn't help but raise a brow when Leo's hand rocked back and forth next to his ear in the shape of a telephone, indicating that he'd have an open ear for any of the woman's problems. His elbow nudged Bella in the ribs, and the cowboy's wayward grin said it all: that the dark haired man was making his move. Even if he weren't, Blake found it easy to tease his friend over the gesture any way.

Bella's hands rose to her face, no doubt an effort to cool the heat that pooled in them. It didn't take long – mostly because the fell straight into a conversation about the Omega leader. At the idea of worshiping his new leader, his blue eyes merely sparkled in the darkness – revealing his mirth at the idea. While he'd respect the woman for her position, his momma had raised him a Christian, and no mutant on campus would change his mind. “We'll see.” He said thoughtfully, mentally noting that he'd need to speak with Bobby before too much longer, and see what he thought of the whole mess between Alphas and Omegas... considering the rivalry obviously ran thick.

I'll survive.” That much was true, and if she thought any differently... she had forgotten some key points about him.

As quickly as the conversation had been serious, it reverted back to her woods comment – Leo adding his own flavor after saying his date was still inside. Bella declared them evil as they headed back inside, Blake hovering close to the woman in the little black dress. “I don't think someone could scare me out of the woods, to be honest... I'd just help whoever I was with climb a tree.” The chuckling that followed displayed well that he wasn't at all being serious, but the knowing grin he gave Bella was to remind her of the times where he'd stuck her on a branch.

The cowboy hadn't realized that he would be a reason to spark interest in who was hanging with who when he'd approached Bella. Really, all he'd been thinking about when he tapped her on the shoulder was catching up. Because they still had so very much of that to do.

Inside was far more crowded than it had been when they'd snuck outside – he guessed it was mostly due to the flood of people who'd run for shelter. “Nice turnout.” He remarked, searching people out of habit.

Bella had already ruled dancing out – so Blake wrote that off as a suggestion on how they should busy themselves to make time pass. But there were other things to do, other than simply people watching. With so many in attendance, he ventured to guess there would be some excitement somewhere. “Did either of you want a drink? After Bella's jaguar impersonation, I'd hate for her to get a tickle in her throat."

Alpha: Finish getting the blond ready....Then to the PROM..

User ImageLillian listened to her blond teammate as she raided the girls closet hoping to find an amazing dress for the girl. When she heard her speak of being new to the Alpha's and displaying her apptitude for their level it made her frown. Turing to the girl showing no signs of her moments earlier frown she smiled brightly to her new friend. "And why is it you feel you haven't shown yourself 'good enough' missy? Because you came back injured? Because of the hidden bomb that no one there could of known about beyond the one you shielded others from?" The power mimic wished she knew some perfect way to show her she did belong. From what Lillian heard of the incident the tk user before her performed amazingly in the situation. "Don't let any such thoughts continue any hold in your brain. We are going to go out and have a blast leave any pesky worries home or at the door." Lillian was no stranger to having nasty after effects from missions. The vegas mission left her mind erratic fighting the personalities gained there. Then the Avalon mission where she absorbed a dieing wizard in his final moments. To use her own powers so far mean to forever etch part of another unto herself.

Her focus was pulled from thoughts of past missions and powers to the present. "And just cause others dropped money on it were is it said you have to in order to have fun?" Lillian asked never knowing of such a rule. Granted even though she has money she was also used to living with out feeling money was needed for happiness. Don't get her wrong money certainly made things easier but along the same line at times it made things more complicated. "So basically your telling me your just afraid of going against such silly concepts as what's is and isn't right for a prom? Silly one it isn't like your showing up in an outfit that isn't fit for public." She said commenting on the fact that while the dress found wouldn't be the expected floor length overly expensive gown like she herself wore. If it were not a dress given to her by Rogue to wear tonight she would shed it for a dress along the lines that will be worn by Aurelie.

Once again her closet search had slowed a moment. She couldn't help the devilish grin that spread across her face. Sometimes she wondered if Aurelie made such comments on purpose. Really the girl has to be expecting a smart a** reply to a statement about being more willing to hang out if she didn't have to get dressed up. "Well I must say I am surprised to hear that. But if you want next time we hang out I am certainly willing to hang around here naked with you. You know since you are more inclined to keep company with another if you didn't have to get dressed and all." The mirth in her voice was clearly evident that her words were meant to be viewed as an attempt to be funny. So she also made sure to look back at the blond for a moment long enough to give her a wink in return for the one she had missed from Aurelie.

"Well I have been told that I can be quite surprising at times. And it's certainly plausible that the good fuzzy doctors vonacular could be infecting my own. But alas to learn medicine for one such as myself Dr. McCoy is the best route to take." Lillian said meaning that given her powers and history learning from McCoy was certainly the surest option for which to study the field. Though she had to admit she did spend to much time with the older residents of Xavier's then those around her own age between Forge's laba and the Med Bay with Beast. "There is one bright side to it. If you ever need to be snuck in or have access to someone in the medbay you know who to come to."

Oh once the dress was found it wasn't hard to convince the girl to put it on. And boy was it ever a good choice. The selection hugged Aurelie's curves like a second skin showing that she indeed had curves in all the right places. Allowing her killer body to be taken advantage of. And even though it was short and clung to the girl it still left plenty to the imagination. In the dress the blond tk user was bound to incite the imaginations of many in attendance at the prom. Lillian looked over the girl with a pleased look upon her face.

"Yes now that the little matter of getting you to agree to go is out of the way. It's time to make you look fabulous." Lillian said smiling sweetly. "And that is the deal."

---------------------------------------

It wasn't long at all before Aurelie was ready to knock them dead at prom. She looked amazing, simply stunning in the look that was pulled together. Lillian could tell even if the girl was still slightly apprihensive about not having the traditional gown. Even so it was clear she was enjoying the reflection of herself in the mirror. "Looks like someone is happy with the finished product." Lillian said with a big smile. The most joy she got out of it was from the fact that Aurelie was pleased with the results. "I guess it is." She said making sure that they didn't accidently touch skin to skin.

Once they arrived at the college there certainly was excitement in the air. "Don't worry. Your going to knock them dead in there for sure." Lillian remarked as they reached the doors to the hall in which the prom was taking place.

If one could get overwhelmed by sensory overload what was before the pair could certainly do it. Between those dancing, the decorations, as well as what appeared to be a rather combustable gathering of Omega's and Alpha's. She hoped nothing was going to happen. "I would love a snack, I think it's a great idea to see what the spread is for this shindig" Lillian said with a wink.

As they made there way to the snack table Lillian caught sight of Kerrigan and Roland dancing. Which given the dance they were doing it was only right to wolf whistle right? So that's just what the power mimic did. Whistling loudly so as to potentially be heard by the couple. She was certainly happy to see Kerrigan having herself a grand old time.

Lillian thought to herself that she needed to eventually drag Cissa and or Kerrigan to the dance floor. Sure that meant temporarily stealing them from their respective dates. But the boys would get over it the three were good friends after all.

Lillian spied Cissa and her group over on the dance floor. With a smile when there was a clear line of sight not that any of them had seen her, she spun in a slow graceful twirl. She was showing of her dress to her other friends even if they probably didn't see her. That just meant she would have to do it again later. Turing to Aurelie as they made their way over to the snack table. "I know we just got here and all but I hope you aren't ready to bolt from the place screaming." She said with a sweet smile to her friend.

Thomas could see that him turning the blame on her as well had obviously amused her to some degree. He would have been a bad friend if he couldn't tell that her shocked expression was feigned in a playful manner. Listening as the brunette spoke up concerning the topic his smile never left. "Fear not as I said the blame is probably shared pretty equally. I have been just as busy. Sometimes I wonder if you guys just like giving me work to do." Thomas was sure his friend would get that he meant the alphas and omegas when he said 'you guys'. He was also sure given the amused tone it was delivered in would again show his less than serious statement. His musings concerning not being a valuable resource to the infirmary making his life easier earned him a pinch to the arm. "Easy you forget how delicate I am." Rubbing the arm in a clearly exaggerated manner he stared at his friend out of the corner of his eyes.

Letting out a laugh as she spoke of his body fluids and blood being liquid gold the healer shrugged. "I have been told that my blood tastes like liquid gold. So perhaps you are onto something there. I just hope it doesn't get addicting. I would hate to be attacked vampire style while walking down the halls." Thomas chose to pass over the last part of her statement only giving her a highly amused look by her open ended comment. With a shake of his head towards her the man returned his gaze straight ahead. As he informed her of his changed situation regarding the teams Thomas could see she was quite pleased. Her response was again something the healer expected from Tara. Her flirty nature was often on display with the males around her. And as always Thomas gave no flirty comment back. "Yes it is about time. I should have done so a lot sooner obviously, but it's better to be late than never really."

The man was looking forward to working with his team and getting reacquainted with some of his old friends. Especially when it came to friends he had not seen in a long time. There were certainly enough of them considering how busy he had been for as long as he remembered. It just seemed like there was no more time for friends. Granted it did give him plenty of time to get reacquainted with some of the older members considering he had apparently knew some of them from before. As Tara commented on his compliment Thomas gave her a small amused sigh. "I can see you are as humble as always. And you're welcome." Watching as Tara grabbed his opposite arm and faced him the healer listened to what she had to say.

At her question Thomas gave an amused look sure that the woman had no idea of his type if he even had one. He knew she had never seen him with a girl in that way so at her general description the man decided to let her stew for a moment not answering her. Giving a look around as if he was trying to locate his date he eventually let his eyes fall back on her clearly having been teasing her. "There is no date no. I came to chaperone and make sure people kept from getting too excited. So make sure I don't have to run you out of a corner trouble." It wasn't the first time he called her trouble, but it was a rare occasion. "How about you? I should know if I should be expecting a jock to come up and punch me out for being with his date." After voicing the question Thomas decided to head to the snack table to get something and as such resituated himself so they were side by side again and began to lead the geokinetic along with him.

"Let's head towards the snacks shall we? I am slightly famished and could use a little pick me up. And your date can spot you a lot easier there than where we are now." Walking over to the table keeping his attention mainly on Tara he arrived and grabbed a random item of food. "Would you like anything in particular? If so don't let me stop you." Looking towards the punch bowl Thomas gave it a curious look. Knowing the way things worked at prom it was likely spiked. While his ability would save him from getting drunk he doubted very much Tara's would and therefore didn't suggest it. For the moment he was content at the snack table.

Leo’s fake pass seemed to go over well; luckily Bella knew him well enough to know that he was joking. Good thing too, because the last thing he needed was his team leader thinking that he had the hots for her. That would make for extremely awkward training situations. After all, he knew what it was like to lead a team and have one of your subordinates have a crush on you… and pissing off a half-psychotic German blond electrokinetic did not go well after he had to break the news to her.

Blake remarked that despite the challenges ahead of him by being on the Omegas, he was confident that he could get through them. A small chuckle escaped from Leo’s lips. “Yeah, you’ll survive…” he told him, “but just how well depends on you.” He could tell that Bella was obviously displeased with Blake’s assignment to the Reds… which was understandable. They seemed to be old friends… so why wasn’t he placed on the Alphas? If they had worked together in the past, shouldn’t they be on the same team? Unless there was some sort of romantic entanglement… it didn’t seem that way though. Still, Scott and Emma always had their reason for everything.

Or it could have been a mistake.

Leo smiled at the remark that Blake couldn’t be chased out of the woods… he would just help his date into a tree. He couldn’t imagine how comfortable that would be… but he made sure to not let his mind wander. “I don’t know…” Leo said jokingly, “even with the way those kids from before were high-bolting it out of the woods, something tells me that was child’s play for Bella.” His mind’s eye glimpsed briefly back into his memory of the Halloween incident, when all of those bats were chasing them… and that horrible scream that Bella made… it was blood curdling. And to think so much power was stored in so little and gentle of a package.

Bella stormed off, and like Blake, Leo followed suit, soon finding himself inside once again. The place was much more crowded than it had been before… and it couldn’t have been five minutes since he walked out of the doors. He wondered if this was the full capacity, or if people were still arriving. Whatever the case, Leo would be sure to watch his step around the dance floor, lest he accidentally get dry-humped by the other patrons dancing.

The new Omega suggested getting a drink, to which Leonardo nodded, saying, “Yeah sure, I’ll help you with that,” he patted him on the shoulder as he began to move through the crowd. His fly reflexes were cued up, so he was able to avoid the flailing limbs and such. It was almost graceful, the way he moved his entire body at some points to maneuver around some people. If the whole secret government agent thing hadn’t worked out for him, he could have been a professional dancer… he was, after all, a pro at Just Dance 3.

As he neared the snack table, Blake hopefully trailing behind, he spotted Tara and yet another unidentified male (Thomas) at the refreshments. “Well hey there,” Leo said to Tara over the music, “looks like you’ve already replaced me!” he laughed, already reaching for a paper cup and the punch ladle. As he was pouring the punch however, he suddenly spotted Aurelie… nearly spilling punch everywhere in the process. Thank God for his ability… he quickly recovered and managed not to spill anything. Aurelie was the last person he expected to see here… it was only about an hour ago he saw her at the mansion, totally not looking like she was ready for a prom. After all, when it came to prom, didn’t girls take about ten hours on their hair alone? So not only did Aurelie apparently adapt the power of super-speed… but she looked absolutely stunning. Granted she wasn’t wearing the typical poofy prom dress… but she looked better than most… well, all of the other girls in the building.

Aurelie…” he said, the shock subsiding. His face managed to turn into a grin though. “I thought you said you couldn’t make it.” Not that he was disappointed… because he wasn’t. At all. He still needed to talk to her about the mall incident… but not here… he didn’t need to ruin prom with a heart-to-heart.

Marcel had a sudden sense rush through his head of being wrong. He didn't want to be seen like some complete know it all, which annoyed him a lot at times. ."It's alright. I felt like I was a little harsh or something than I intended to be when I gave a reply...or maybe I wasn't..." He quickly gave himself a mental slap back into their little conversation before his own mind had wondered about all the things he could have done. With that, he would have been thinking out loud a little too much than he was intending to do. It was then he had to ask himself if he was Socially Awkward. That he didn't know the answer to. He continued to listen to Jacen talk. Most of that, he had to agree with him on. This prom event was drastically boring and anymore time that was wasted would have resulted in Marcel planning to freeclimb the university just for the fun of it. He nodded a little when Jacen was talking about the event itself and other things as well. "I have to agree on some aspects, especially this suit. I just don't enjoy wearing things like this too often, not to mention it restricts my movement."

Marcel continued to play around with the water in the fountain a little bit more until he asked him what his powers were. He rose the water slightly, just for it to drop down and make a small splash. He chuckled some. "It's hydokenisis. What about yours?" Marcel then thought about what he had said with his name. He didn't want to tell him not to put so much emphasis on something since he didn't want to come off as a brash person. For some reason, maybe he should be considered as misunderstood at times. These were only thoughts in his head though."So are you planning on attending here? I'm thinking about it myself, but maybe another year at the Academy isn't bad either. I'm a little anti-social and I'd hate to see how that would turn out here...Oh, did you have time to examine the university yet? It was the first thing Marcel did when he got there when he noticed the prom was a tid-bit stiff. He had a knack fro just randomly walking almost anywhere to observe his surroundings. He could possibly pass off as a tour guide if anyone needed one.

User ImageReally, she shouldn't have said anything so sarcastic about proving her worth to the Alphas – another pep talk would be the last thing that would sink in for the telekinetic. Already, she'd endured more of those than necessary, and none of them had removed the guilt that she still carried. “Because I served as part of the cause.” Aurelie explained, rubbing her temples at the thought. But Lillian continued, stating that she shouldn't hold it against her – clearly hitting the nail right on the head when she mentioned the second bomb. Had she not stopped the first explosion, many wouldn't have suffered, but would have died instantly. The way they had – radiation poisoning – was far more cruel and drawn out. Those innocent people undergone much worse because of her.

Giving a small smile, she could only hope that mutation mimic's insistence on having a good time would pay off – the blond had her doubts about that. “No...” However, she felt like she was intruding on some sacred tradition, not even caring whether she stayed or went to the event called 'prom.' Most girls danced around in front of the mirror to see how their dress looked from every angle – Aurelie hadn't even tried hers on since she'd gotten it ages ago. ”My sister would likely faint at the idea of me wearing anything in my closet to a formal.” She responded dryly, already hearing the lecture ringing in her ears. Silly... it was a word the telekinetic hadn't been called in quite some time, and she only raised her brow when Lillian said that she wasn't going to be dressed in something ill fit for public. Obviously, the brunette hadn't seen everything in her closet yet.

Dressed up, Lils. Not not dressed.” Her face quickly found itself buried in her hands, covering any expression that her fellow Alpha would have otherwise been able to read. But the giggling was only slightly muffled to let the girl know that she'd thought it was amusing, even if her Amish tendencies bade her to be appalled at the very idea of hanging out in the nude.

At times, the mimic did sound as though she spent too much time around Beast, who was known throughout the campus to dish out lines of poetry, Shakespeare and proverbs when a conversation had an opening for it. “There are certainly less reputable people for you to pick up after.” Aurelie agreed, chuckling slightly. “Noted.

Once a “suitable” outfit was found and donned, the two set to work to straightening her curls, choosing bracelets and putting on a bit of makeup, working quickly so that they could get to the event of the night. “Good luck with that.

* * *

Someone is shocked, more like.” Aurelie remarked. “I told my sister I'd never wear this dress...” But one last look in the mirror, she bade herself to quit fretting and get going. It didn't take them long to arrive at Frontier, and Aurelie glanced around before deciding that it was best to curb her appetite with what snacks could be found on the far side of the room.

On the way there, Lillian made a show of her dress to Narcissa and Kerri, but was quick to rejoin the Alpha, who out of a healthy respect to mind her own business, took a different path. She allowed a small grin to mark her features when the brunette mentioned bolting, and shook her head. “Not unless I'm forced to dance.” In which case, a telekinetic bubble would quickly form around her as a preventative measure.

Grabbing a cracker, the Amish-raised girl stared out into the sea of people taking note to avoid the conglomerate of students surrounding Narcissa. While she didn't hate the British sun goddess... Aurelie didn't expect the girl to return the same sentiment. Blue and Blacks did not mix with the crimson queen, simply put.

The girl's smile spread easily across her features when she spotted Tara and, to her surprise, Thomas so near the food. Quietly, she stepped towards them, pushing her curtain of golden silk over her shoulder. “Tara, did you switch dates for this handsome young man?” She winked, indicating she asked only in jest. “It's been a long time since we were both on the Corsairs.” It was an opening, subtly asking the healer what he'd been doing since being moved from Scott's exclusive team.

Just as soon as she'd said it, Leonardo appeared, joking about the same thing. He nearly spilled his punch when he realized that she too was standing there, and her features softened as she took the sight of him in. No doubt he was surprised to see her there, perhaps even startled since she'd already stated she had no interest in prom. The way her name lingered on his lips did the same thing to her stomach as it had when they'd headed towards the mall over a month ago, and a hand subtly rose to cover the spot, as though he'd inherently know. “Yeah... turns out my plans for keeping company with books and a piano got canceled.” She said, sapphire eyes falling now on Lillian. A thumb pointed back to her as she looked back to Leo, and the dimples on either side of her mouth displayed her good nature. “Someone thought it was important I go, enough that she dragged me by the belt loop of my shorts to here.

Odd, how almost an hour ago she was miserable with the thought of having to attend... But being around those near her now, it didn't seem quite as bad as she'd imagined. “How's your evening going?” For now, she forgot about the newcomer next to the dark haired alpha, (Blake) content to talk for the first time with the person who'd become her first friend on the team. Like him, she'd make no mention of the things that still needed to be said between them – their apparent apologies for the disaster.

Before she knew it, Vee finished the whole quart of ice cream. She felt a bit bad not leaving any for the other students, but she figured they wouldn't notice its absence. She rinsed the spoon and left it in the sink, then grabbed her water bottle and walked out. The moonlight shone brightly, lighting up the hallways. She always liked the soft, subtle light of the moon, not so much the harsh rays the sun gave off.

She was bored. She couldn't go back to the music room, since she didn't know whether or not the three people that she'd seen were still there. Really, she didn't want to find out either. There was nothing else to do, but... explore. Vee exited through the front door, staying in the shadows. The cool air seemed to cling to her, almost misting near her. She walked around the grounds, feeling the cool grass underneath her feet. She walked past the track, the baseball diamond, basketball courts, pond, archery field.

Vee stopped at a small area. Gravestones were there, fresh flowers on each. Vee came around to the front, scanning the text on the slabs of stone. She realized they were X-Men, X-Men who had fallen in battle, or other situations. She'd never met them, but for some reason, her heart went out to them. These were people who died, died fighting the same people who'd killed her mother. Vee sat down, bringing her knees up to her chest, staring at the still gravestones.
