Suddenly, the floresce fluttered off to attack, and Riley took her shot. She snuck in, snatched an egg, and snuck out before anyone even noticed. VICTORY WAS HERS ONCE MORE.
She had quite the collection so far..
... of bruises and scrapes, that is. But also fish.

With the seriously unpleasant taste of Floresce still on his tongue (all over his tongue, too - was that a scale? EUGH!), Castigal was in a less than pleasant mood. He panted, wincing at the realization that sooner or later, he was going to have to return that long tongue to his mouth. Unbelievably gross.
But he could make up for it, couldn't he? The bat god's ears twitched as he noticed a floating crate, not too far off. If these cotton-candy-craving princesses thought he stole something from them, well then, why shouldn't he? It'd be so mean of him to make liars out of the gym pair, after all.
Too bad no one else saw it that way. Roaring his protest at several unnecessary nips ("I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time, you rainbow-slurping pastel jackkno- Ouch! Ow-ow-ow-!"), Castigal was forced to pack himself and his dignity back to dry land.

Distraction. It could work in her favor. She could tell that the attention span of the guardian fish was split between her and someone else, and waited for just the right time to return again to -
Nope.
Smacked back into the pile of fish, she sat there and stewed for a moment, clinging to what dignity she had left.

Once she'd slithered her way out of the pile of fish, she snuck by again, but there was nothing to distract the guards this time, and she hightailed it before they could snag her. It was a good thing Riley was fast..

It was almost enough to get angry about. Almost.
But no, Castigal was an elegant boil - in manner if not in looks - and he was not about to be thwarted by anything he considered delicious noms. So with a glance out at the...ghoul? Oh yes, certainly ghoul - who had the fish distracted, he raced for the tank.
He darted. He dashed. He arrowed into the water and sprouted wings (never knew he could swim with those - The More You Know!), jack-knifing toward the tank with all the gusto he had in him. And when he finally emerged from the waves of froth and finned delectables, it was before the tank at last, sharklike grin on his face and wings fully fanned from what had once been his hands. Victory!
Then, of course, he had to grab an egg and run like hell. But before that, he'd been downright majestic.

Oh, that little minx! The vampire boil she'd never met before had stolen her idea, and just as she was being shuffled off again, she stole a glance at him snatching one of the fish. That was her gig! She had half a mind to storm back over and give him a piece of her mind... if she wasn't already busy being forced to leave.

It had been some time since damien stopped by to see the fishy duo, but it wasn't long enough as they greeted him again with fish to his face.
"You guys are seriously acting worse than rage!." he yelled back in retaliation before tossing the fish back at ember, who in reply just threw the smelly open mouthed failfish even harder at him.

Oh, Demi. So deliciously loud and obnoxious. He would be the perfect distraction to keep them from noticing-
Nope. Even the loud-mouthed, vivacious pup-boil wasn't enough to keep her from being caught. Again.
She needed a new strategy.

Wonderful, his egg was hidden safe away. Castigal dusted his hands, just about whistling with the pleasure of victory. Now, if he could only get to the tank again... He was halfway across when he saw the ghoul from before being hastened back the way she came. Alas, he remembered when he, too, had failed so thoroughly.
"Hey there, miss...?" Miss? Lame. He didn't know her name or anything, so he couldn't do any better - but still. "Need a hand?"

Riley was perched just barely against a wall, peering around it to scope out the area, and watched the rhythmic movements of the fish carefully. It was the sound of someone else's voice that had her jumping out of her hiding place, alerting the fish themselves and sending her even farther away from their territory. She grumbled off, gesturing for the vampire to follow, before swiveling around once they were at a safe distance. Her tentacles swirled around her at the movement.
What do you think you're doing? She hissed directly into his mind, her voice an echoey thought filtering through his head. I think I had a good spot that time, and you scared me right out of it. Granted, I commend you on your scaring tactics, but, sheesh. Her hand pressed against her chest. A little warning next time.
She looked over his shoulder, barely paying him any mind. Well, if you want to help, try to make a distraction. The white, pupiless eyes turned to him sharply for a moment. Manners, always manners first, she corrected herself silently. I'm Riley. The thought whispered. And you are?

"Aaah." It was less a startled sound, and more a very gradual acceptance of this-voice-in-my-head-is-not-my-own. "Well, you know, scaring isn't the same with a warning." Castigal smiled, crossing lean arms lightly over his chest. Tentacle-ghoul had an air of authority. He could respect that.
"You want them distracted? Yeah, sure. I can do that." Pupilless eyes gleamed as his fingers began to extend, membranes filling in between them to become the Camazotz's wings. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Riley. Please call me Castigal." Newly-grown wings re-crossed over the vampiric boil's chest, and he turned, looking out over the water and churning swimmers within. "Did you have a plan, or anything?" Not that he needed one, per se. He was ready to move at her say-so.

The first few dodges were fine until a slew came from all directions leaving the poor guy in a pile of fish. Oh the smell was far too rancid to breath. Tonight will be a long one spent in the bathtube...

As Christof wandered by, he spotted flailing purple tentacles. Mistress? What was she up to? No sooner had he stepped foot back into the booth, he was suddenly pelted by fish. Again.
Yeeaaah better leave her to her own devices.
He definitely was not a fan of fish, at least any more. He fished a stray fish out of where it had wriggled into his jacket with a sigh, trudging off once more.

I had a few plans. Riley admitted with a venom in her mental voice. And they mostly failed. At this point, I think they've gotten wise to every trick in my book. For example -
Riley took another one of the Vote Riley! plushies, and threw it far, waiting for them to react as they had last time. The floresce watched the purple tentacled plush fly, but they didn't follow. They just slowly turned towards her, and glared.
