Cady couldn't find her dates, and the music had long since changed. She decided finally to wander back over to the DJ booth and check on Ash, who was talking to another ghoul. Cady squinted. What was that thing on her head?

She entered the empty space around the booth, and figured she was in earshot. "HEY, MISS, THERE IS A FISH BOWL STUCK ON YOUR HEAD, DID YOU KNOW? Hi Ash!" She frowned suddenly. "Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't think to bring anything..." She'd spent most of her time watching other people dance. After her brief foray onto the floor, she'd quickly realized dancing was rather awkward without a partner.

Riley chuckled softly, her tentacles still creeping around Mal's arms and waist, when she felt the touch of Amrita on her arm. She looked down, her eyes focusing from the lack of direct blacklight exposure, and gave Amrita an exceedingly affectionate gaze.

Oh, look at you, Amrita. You are just precious tonight. Who are you here with? Riley's arms slid away from their hold on Malodore and Hasuko, to settle on Amrita's shoulders and fluff her dress. What a lucky boil, to have you as a date.

Despite the inordinate amount of affection, Riley started to sound a little more like herself, and the back of her mind wondered what exactly had caused her to feel.. strange, a moment ago. Whatever it was, was gone now.

Tilting her head up to look at Lizzy, the world blurred back into nothing but color. She winced, but held her hand out to the spot where she was pretty sure Lizzy had been a moment ago. Lizzy, it's so lovely to see you. Are you all enjoying the prom?

"Relaxing?" Shun repeated with a raised brow before glancing towards Mot. The other reaper didn't look very relaxed there. After watching him for a moment, he shook his head to Jericho at the offer for drinks.

His eyes shot towards Mitsu again as she answered the thing about dancing. There was something about the way she said it.

Hmm...

"Are you enjoying yourself?" he asked.

---

Quickly working to catch up with Lizzy, Jericho soon noticed Riley and Malodore, along with someone he didn't know by the drinks table. THe dragon's eyes lit up at the sight of them.

"Oh hey guys!" he grinned while grabbing some drinks to help Lizzy get everything.

"Been enjoying the.... Riley are you ok?"

It didn't take long for him to notice that her eyes were looking rather strange. It was like they were a part of the dance lights, going to the beat and stuff.

With the hesitant tread of someone heading towards their imminent doom, Johan entered the hubbub of the Prom, and quickly attempted to prop up the nearest wall. Attending hadn't been his idea. Not at all. Were it not for his mother, he'd have been studying like usual in his room this evening. Instead, a package bat had flown into his dorm this morning, landed on his desk, and hiccuped in his face until he'd woken up. When it had his attention, it quickly regurgitated a large package all over his notes, and flew away.

Less then pleased with that particular wake-up call, storm clouds practically began to brew over Johan's head until he'd read the note accompanying the package.

Mother.

And she'd explicitly ordered him to attend prom, even going so far as to send a brand new suit. Which somehow managed to fit him perfectly, even if the Carve-alli shoes were pinching his toes. Scowling against the wall, Johan resisted the urge to kick the shoes off and hex them into oblivion. At least being angry at his shoes was better than being terrified of what the other students must think of him. Certainly, the Klarsteins had never been a poor family, but he'd always tried to keep a low-profile for a reason! This suit felt expensive. Like money would start to leak out the seams if he began sweating.

He cast a quick, nervous glance at all the ghouls about. He didn't even know if he looked good! He was no judge of fashion sense. The only thing he really liked about the suit was the high neck and the gloves. Really, he wished he could run back to his room and change into his robes, but his Mother had been firm. Wear the suit, dance with a ghoul, get his picture taken (preferably with the ghoul), and send the photo to her.

How in Halloween was he going to do this?

"U-uhm...Th-thank...thank you." If Amrita could blush, she would be. The little ghoul wiggled uncomfortably under Riley's primping fingers, smiling awkwardly. "I'm...here with Charlie." She murmured, gesturing to the dazed looking Demon sitting at the table nearby. There was a little pause, a glance up and down, and her head tilted. "You lookvery...um, pretty, too." She observed. Riley definitely did have a nice body, Jericho was right. Then again, Amrita was looking at it strictly like parts.

"...Are you okay?" She repeated, recalling her concern. "You look weird." She said, pointing at her own eyes.

West was strange. It was almost like he was concerned or something. She'd met the ghoul once and he was all up in arms about something. "Last I checked I wasn't any of those." For all she knew but nice to know he didn't think of her in those ways. "Was nice the time I met her." Obviously he must had some encounter with her. "What she do when you met her? Or ya don't have to say if ya dont' want to." Holly was interested but she wasn't going to push the subject since Prom was technically a happy time.

Oh well. She thought the ghoul was nice but if she wanted to say hi then she'd find her later. "I'll be sure to not call her over then." That way if anything did happen, wasn't her fault. Holly straightened her pin. Wouldn't that be something to loose at a time like this. Being done with food and stuff, sitting wasn't doing much for her. "Want to go mingle with people or attempt dancing cause I am guessing still not dessert time, right?" Sad for her but dessert will always be there for later!

"Oh, I sssimply did not want to intrude," the monster giggled, relaxing under the friendly gaze. "It isss sssilk, I believe, ssssomething niccce and ssspidery," she swayed a bit so that the scale pattern caught in the myriad lights, "Thank you ssso much! I thought it wasss rather ssshiny myssself." She blushed a bit, skin turning a touch darker green on her cheeks.

As the pretty ghoul introduced herself, she remembered her own manners, "A pleasssure to meet you, Asssh!" The name hissed pleasantly the way she said it, like whispering tides. She bobbed in an echo of a curtsy, "My name isss Ys'lei-nsthath, but Ys will do jussst fine," the toothy grin was back, she knew her full name was something impossible.

"I mussst ssay, you danccce ssso well! How did you learn to do thisss?" She would have gone on, but another ghoul came up and commented on her helm, startling her into laughter. "It isss a fissshbowl, isssn't it? But I am not exxactly a fisssh." She winked slowly at the one who had commented, completely amused and feeling much more at ease. "I am Ys! What isss your name?"

There was quite the dazed expression on Mitsu's face as she pushed around the half of a meatball she hadn't eaten. Or at least the half of her face through could be seen. Her ears were still the most expressive thing considering she only managed to semi-smile here and there.

Fuzzy ears giving a twitch she turned back to Shun. "O..oh Yes! Very much so." She must have seemed really ungrateful and that wasn't the case at all. The wolf girl just wished she was a better dancer and maybe she could do more than just watch the others have fun. "I..I'm just a little overwhelmed I guess. I've never been to anything like this before." She said softly to the reaper.

Hasuko squeaked as Riley's grip around her waist tightened. The mindflayer certainly appeared to be in high spirits. Hasuko didn't really know what to do or what to say in response but thankfully Riley's attention seemed to be focused on Malodore so Hasuko just awkwardly stood beside the pair.

She blushed a little and averted her eyes when she realized that they were nuzzling and exchanging endearments with each other. Was she really not a third wheel, joining them? Hiding beside Mr. Plant along the wall was starting to look like the better choice.

A couple of students approached Riley and greeted her. Friends of Riley and Malodore, Hasuko supposed. She smiled politely and tried not to look awkward. "Hello, I'm Hasuko." the kappa said. "I just transferred to Amityville Academy."

Everyone seemed concerned about Riley's condition though. Hasuko blinked. She didn't know Riley as well as she knew Malodore, but now that it was called to her attention, the mindflayer had been acting a bit peculiar. Hasuko looked concernedly up at her friend.

She grinned at the not-fish ghoul. Of COURSE it was a fishbowl. It felt nice to be right about things for once. "I'm Cady-" she began, but was distracted as there was movement near the entrance to the auditorium.

Cady watched as the doors opened and another latecomer made his way through the empty space in front of the booth and toward an unoccupied spot outside the main area. He was wearing a suit like many of the other boils - but curiously, the outfit covered just about every inch of him, up to his chin. To Cady, who seldom wore more than shorts and a midriff top, the effect was somewhat like drowning in clothes. She gravitated toward his position against the wall, drawn in by this mystery. She made sure to stay within hearing distance of the booth, though.

"Are you waiting for your date? Because you know it might be easier for them to spot you against the wall I guess, you're positively glowing." It wasn't an insult or a compliment, but a statement - the blacklights were causing his hair, shirt, and sleeves to light up eerily. The effect was downright spooky. Cady was a little jealous - perhaps she should have worn ALL white instead of her teal-and-white ensemble. Not that she'd had much of a choice - the dress had been mailed to her by Gladys, with specific instructions to not go 'galavanting about' in it.

"By the way," she added cheerfully, "My name's Cady. Is it comfortable wearing all those clothes? Is that what From- All A Tire meant?" She hoped that wasn't the case, otherwise she'd feel somewhat under dressed. But GLADYS had picked the outfit, and she knew about these kind of things. Besides, she was certainly wearing a lot more than normal. The manticore ghoul didn't see how it mattered, anyway.

Tsetsiliya hustled as quickly as her gown would allow. The thudding pulse of the music and the din of many conversations led her towards where she needed to be. As she approached the building, seeing a few nicely-dressed students milling about outside, she slowed her paces. Her nerves were doing their nervous tap dance in her stomach, but she took a slow breath and swallowed them back down - tonight was going to be fun. If going with one date was supposed to be entertaining, two might make it even better, even if it was a little out of the ordinary. So much so that she was unusually late since she had taken extra care to look nice.

... There was, however, the issue of finding her dates. She knew what Colette looked like, and thanks to Groanspring, she had an indication on what Petro looked like (it turned out they had exchanged a few questions earlier in the school year, and he had posted a nice picture of himself as his profile). Still, everyone was dressed up - what if they'd changed their hair? Would she recognize them? Oh, her nerves were making her a mess and she hadn't even gone inside yet!

It seemed to be a worry in vain, however, as she sighted a ghoul talking to a very tall, bare-legged boil near the entrance. The ghoul turned her head and Tsetsiliya's eyes lit in recognition. She raised her hand in a wave and started to walk over, calling as she went.

"C-Colette!" The ghoul looked very nice tonight, Tsetsiliya thought, and noted with pleasant surprise that they had each decided on cool colors for their gowns. It was a nice change of pace. She approached with a smile and color in her cheeks. "It is being nice to see you again!" As she spoke, the poludnica realized that it had been a rather long time since they had last met. With a glance of surprise, she recognized the boil she was talking to as the one who made up the third part of their group - Petro. "A-Ah!" Those few Groanspring correspondences aside, first meetings were still a little rough around the edges for her, and her already pinkened face flushed darker. "Y-You are P-Petro, yes? I-I am Tsetsiliya." Her smile was happy, albeit nervous, and she held out her hand to the boil in greeting. Eyes turning momentarily towards Colette, her smile seemed to relax a bit. "I-I am not knowing you two are meeting yet!"

Riley chuckled, and shook her head. Actually, I'm not! You know the blacklights pulsating in the room right now? It turns out they practically blind me. She sounded more than amused by this turn of events, and not nearly as annoyed as she was before. Perhaps the influx of people had her spirits cheered a bit. I'm confident that this will ground me for the rest of the prom. I doubt one will see me out on the dance floor this night.

She blinked as Hasuko was forced to introduce herself. Oh, but I am so rude. She took Hasuko's hand in her own. Hasuko, these are my friends. Amrita, Lizzy, Jericho, Hasuko is a very old friend of Malodore's.

Watching the wolf girl, Shun nodded to her. He wasn't exactly accustomed to these sorts of events himself so he could understand her somewhat there. While he hadn't spoken to many people, this was already considerably more social than how he was on a normal basis. For now he was content with remaining where he sat and observing for the most part.

"It is pretty hectic in here," He murmured, "But if you need something, let me know."

Again, this night was for her.

----

Turning towards the new girl, Jericho grinned and waved to her. She must be a new friend of the two. Oh. It seemed she was an old friend of Malodore's instead. Well that was still nice.

"Pleasure to meet you Hasuko. I'm Jericho," he greeted before looking towards Riley with a frown. He felt rather guilty right now seeing how the blacklights were his idea.

"That won't do," he said lowly. He didn't want his best friend stuck by the tables all night long, "You're coming with me. Malodore. Hasuko. You're free to join as well.

Nodding he then went to hoist up Riley so he could bring her back to the table. This way she could at least sit down.. as well as socialize a little more.

Oh, she liked this ghoul. Something about her just felt like it clicked comfortably with Aislin and she gravitated closer, unable to help but join in on the infectious laughter as Cady burst over and pointed out the... helm, she'd called it? She reached out to lightly put a hand on Ys' arm, drawing her in closer as she did so. She leaned in, matching the Monster ghoul's grin with a near identical one of her own...except her lips didn't move as she talked. The mist that curled from her throat hung in the air around her, mixing with what had been generated by the fog machine. "You know, I don't remember where I learned to dance. I just know I like to do it! When I hear that music I just can't stop myself."

Aislin laughed again, a sound that pitched upward a few decibels before she calmed down. "Ys! Would you like to dance with me?" It was a barely veiled attempt to get further away from the ScreeJay booth and out onto the floor, especially with this new interesting ghoul.

"Cady, can you take over for a little bit? I'll give you some more punch if you will. Great! Thanks!" She didn't wait a moment before she grabbed Ys' hand and began to pull her away from the booth out towards the dance floor. When she'd gotten far enough away to feel like she was no longer chained to the booth she stopped and let go. "I'll be right back!" She shouted over the music to Ys. She'd feel a little bad if she didn't hold true to her word and get Cady something to drink before she started to have some fun.

"I'm enjoying myself very much actually," She giggled at Riley, although the giggles soon stopped as she frowned at the way she was acting; when she explained that the blacklights were the cause of her agony, her frown deepened, "Ah... We shouldn't have used them then..." She felt rather guilty about it; she should have checked if the lighting would affect students with sensitive eyesight!

"Yes, do sit with us! The more the merrier, after all~" She grinned at Jericho's suggestion, before raising an eye brow at him, "After you help Riley to the table, I'll need your help with the tray~" She was not confident of not spilling anything while carrying a tray filled with drinks; besides, with the new additions to the table, she might have to put enough more drinks on that tray.

"Hello Hasuko! I'm Lizzy!" She smiled, "Welcome to Amity~ I hope you're liking it here so far?" She seemed rather nice, if not a little shy.
