Coruscant, mid-city.

It bothered Kennero that Mina hadn't contacted him yet. He hadn't been certain how long she might stay with Sam at the funeral, or if she'd take some time for herself, but it had been long enough now that he would have expected something from her. They hadn't missed checking in a single day in five years. He wasn't irritated or frustrated, he was bothered; something felt wrong.

"R4, monitor as much radio traffic as you can up there and tell me as soon as you detect Mina's ship."

He could go to her planet side apartment and wait for her, but that felt even more like doing nothing than putting the job of finding her on the tin shoulders of his astro-mech droid. With a deep breath he reminded himself to be calm, found his center, and in what felt like only a moment he heard the beeping of his COM that could only be R4 with a hit.

"Show me, R4." He said, listening as the audio on his receiver played back a badly static'd recording of Armina's voice issuing her identification for landing, but no official record of her ship anywhere on any of the docks. He could search the planet... if he wanted to see her again in the next year. There were too many open docks for her to have used, and even more un-authorized stations, to go guessing.

And she wouldn't have landed without trying to contact him.

"R4 prep my fighter." The Prince says icily into his COM, his mood darkening as possibilities fill his mind. Too soon, this is too soon. It's been hours since Isani made her threat - and a thread is what it was, whether she's willing to admit to herself or anyone else that she's stooped low enough for petty threats since her fall - and already he can't find Mina.

He's well aware the dangerous and all-too precarious anger rising in him is inappropriate at best, murderous at the worst, but he doesn't care. Until he finds Mina, he still won't care.

"Star hailing the most obvious docking authorities R4. Send a data transmission requesting information on her ship first, and then on her upon response." He orders as the fighter lowers itself to his position at R4's programmed piloting and he climbs aboard.

A sound that's supposed to be cool doubt comes out as a snort of indignation. "Are you kidding?" Morbella squeaks before the Grand Admiral can respond.

Immediately following the outburst she glances at the Admiral apologetically and then glares at the Sith. "What use would you have for a Lieutenant of Darth Ensis on your mission to secure Venia's compliancy. You'll have a hard enough time convincing her that you're on her side -- you expect me to come along to have you get me killed?"

More irritated that he got under her skin than anything else, her glare doesn't waver. What are you playing at? She wants to ask, but knows better. Maybe she should go with him. Idiotically, she suspects that it would be safer. Either she can discover what he thinks he has on her, if he has anything, or she can get rid of him.

Or you can get rid of yourself.

The idea is all to tempting, so much so that she almost changes her mind verbally, but she keeps her lips pressed together firmly. Damn me to hell if he's going to see me second guess myself.

Cole accepted the weight of the saber in his hand. The steel of it felt cold, and he could feel the weight of the parts inside it. A tool like this was not easy to find or construct.

"" Cole said solemnly. Then turning to one of his troopers: "you personally responsible.>"

Cole glanced down at the lightsaber, and then at his captain's hip. There was a magnetic strip, powerful enough to keep something like a blaster or lightsaber in place, even during the rigors of combat, but not so powerful that a soldier, or a Jedi with the Force, could not pull it off in an instant. Cole slapped the lightsaber onto the magentic strip.

"At all times.>"

The soldier nodded, understanding, and then returned her gaze to the Jedi, awaiting further orders.

""

Cole clasped his hands behind his back again and stared at Knight Rahl as she was escorted away. Cole took no pleasure in doing this to a Jedi, but there was more than a slim chance of her not being a Jedi. He'd be damned if he was fooled twice.

Sephis smiled deviously. Finally, he had Morbella in his claws.

"A better question for you to ask is what use would a Black Ops Captain have for a Sith Knight?" Sephis asked. "You need me, remember? Think about how I could best help you. As a Captain, unless the Grand Admiral likes to keep you under his heel--" Sephis glanced at the Grand Admiral knowingly "--then you must have access to more resources than I would in the Imperial Navy. For example, a military cruiser."

The Grand Admiral arched one eyebrow high, clearly incredulous and skeptical.

"Do you seriously think I can lure Darth Venia on my own?" Sephis asked, knowing the Grand Admiral thought him to be incompetent. "You think me flying up to her hidey-hole, in a starfighter, is going to make her want to stick her neck out to the Empress? Venia is going to need presentation. Venia has always needed presentation. Darth Venia needs to know that I have forces, loyal and willing, under my command that she can thus command before she chances an encounter with Ensis."

Sephis turned back to Morbella and smiled ruefully.

"And for that I need a "Lieutenant" of Darth Ensis to provide me with a ship." Sephis glanced at the Grand Admiral again. "And so, of course, I won't be allowed to possess one myself. That would be too loose of a leash." Now, looking back at Morbella. "Which means I'll need a Captain, that the Grand Admiral can trust, to keep an eye on me."

Sephis kept his mean smile trained on Morbella for a moment, and then switched it back to the Grand Admiral.

"Does it all make sense, now?"

He has a point. Morbella told herself, considering the pieces of the pie in her own mind while she waited the GA's response. And I've never been at the helm of a Cruiser before... That brought a smile to her own lips, a self-satisfied smirk as she gave herself a moment to visualize herself at that command. While she didn't feel giddy over the prospect of flying into space surrounded by men loyal to the Empire, side by side with a Sith who had a habit of getting stuck in her teeth, for however many weeks it took Sephis to even find Venia... or at the high probability of running into Republic Patrols and even Pirates the longer they were away from the Corruo... it was still something.

Before the Visum look-a-like had fallen into her lap she'd been a walking corpse, just waiting for some treasonous evidence to crop up before the Admiral. The longer she was idle on this damned cruiser-turned-station she felt the noose around her neck tightening.

This would be something new, something exciting, something dangerous, sure, but at least it was a way for her to go out fighting if that's what it came to.

"Okay." She said nonchalantly, dropping her glare and discarding her reluctance without a thought. "Put yourself together while the grown-ups think about it."

Cole parted ways with Knight Rahl's entourage, deciding to trust her word of nonviolence, so long as her lightsaber stayed in sight. Instead of leaving his weapon behind closed doors near the interrogation room, he decided he'd simply leave it in his office. That would give Knight Rahl time to sweat, if she actually wasn't who she said she was, and if she was indeed Knight Rahl, then this would give her time to demonstrate her promise of non-threat (as per her conditions, of course). As Cole stepped out of his office, he received a bleep on his COM unit. Cole unhooked it from its buckle as he strode down the corridor towards the station tram and brought it up so he could listen.

"Commander Barranks, this is the COM station from the CIC," Cole's lieutenant said, identifying himself. "We've got a communique from an R4 unit, claiming to be attached and representing the Jedi, sir."

Cole pricked up one antenna as he walked, hailing a tram as it about passed him by. The small transport craft pumped its breaks immediately, recognizing the five stars on Cole's chest.

"" Cole said, stepping up to the tram.

"The Jedi are requesting information on the ship registered with Knight Rahl, has entered the system or not," the Lieutenant said, explaining the nature of the transmission. "The name and classification they've provided us with match up perfectly with the ship that was red-flagged. How should we reply?"

Cole was sitting on the tram now, and it was zooming off towards his destination, prioritizing his route above the others, because of his ranking. He refrained from swearing out loud, but now that Cole had a legitimate Jedi breathing down his neck about Rahl, he was starting to think he'd overstepped his authority. Cole argued with himself for a moment. He was only doing his duty, making his best attempt to secure the lives of the men and women under his command, and also not taking the lightsaber from Mina at gunpoint (although it came very near to that).

"" Cole ordered dejectedly. ""

"Yes, sir."

Coruscant - Low Orbit

Brooding silently, Kennero reached out with his senses as the small, nimble fighter craft floated aimlessly over the planet, just above the Thermosphere. He was reaching for Mina, blocking out everything else but her, but still he couldn't touch her. His anger was a barrier; some anger at himself, for not being there to meet her planet side, but mostly anger at whatever forces were holding her. That anger was simmering at the moment, fed by the frustration of his own mental handicap it caused, and growing every time his thoughts came back to it.

R4 beeped and the Falleen's black eyes opened, wordlessly opening his COM to 'receiving' as the astromech informed him a connection had been made.

"Who am I speaking to?" He said, his tone as dangerous as his mood, but he made no demands or threats. This was Republic space, which meant Mina was with Republic representatives... threats would get him no where in rendezvousing with her, even if they might make him feel better.

Point Nadir, Down Low

"Which is too bad, because taking you guys out would be so easy," Kal said, Force Pulling Leinad's holdout blaster out of its jacket holster and slinging it into the wall.

"Hey..."

"I know you aren't here to brag," Anatmon remarked, drawing his vibroblade.

"You don't know that, actually," Kal sneered.

Onurb, the Gamorrean, squealed and swung his axe. Kal dodged the swing narrowly.

"Whoops..."

He countered with a punch, unaugmented by the Force, into the tall Gamorrean's armor. His fist bounced off in pain. Kal gripped and rubbed, taking a step back and looking up at the Gamorrean.

"Ow..."

Onurb, grunting, swung again, and struck Kal in the face. The cortosis weave over the axe seared Kal's cheek and sent him reeling across the floor. While Kal was down, Anatmon stepped over to him quickly and placed the edge of his vibroblade down over Kal's neck.

"Let's get him out of here, quickly," Anatmon suggested.

Kal bared his teeth an Anatmon in embarrassment and frustration. Onurb squealed and grunted, arguing with his associate.

"No, listen, this is some Jedi trick," Anatmon insisted. "Let's get him out of here."

Onurb squealed again, long and loud this time. Then he laughed, as much as an alien that sounded like a pig could laugh. Kal growled as his life was being discussed nonchalantly by a group of cowardly mercenaries. He gripped Anatmon's vibrosword with the Force gently, not wanting to alert him to the fact that he was about to stop playing possum.

"This... This is trouble," Anatmon said nervously. "Throw him out the door and bolt it behind him..."

"Yeah, that's okay, guys, I'm fine," Kal heard Leinad say, although he was out of sight. "Don't worry about me."

Onurb grunted and growled happily, leaning over and bearing his teeth down at Kal, drool dripping from his jowls. His breath smelled like acid and mynock poodoo at the same time.

"Who am I speaking to?"

A demanding, authoritative tone. A frustrated tone. Cole had a feeling he was walking into a political death trap here.

"" Cole declared, answering his recipient's question in full. ""

Diplomat or no, this Jedi was dealing with the military now. Cole could only react according to protocol, if this person proved to be difficult.

Point Nadir, Down Low

Onurb raised his axe into the air with both hands, reaching up past his head, gazing down at Kal greedily, spittle dripping from his mouth. He grunted and snorted, and then brought the axe down. That's when Kal made his move. He moved the vibroblade he had a grip off of his neck and into the axe's path. When the Weequay saw and felt his weapon move, his eyes widened.

Kal rolled out of the way as the Gamorrean brought his axe down on the blade with a growl. The Weequay's stance faltered from the unexpected deflection.

"Oh, no..."

Kal then yanked the blade out of Anatmon's hand and Force Pushed it into the wall. Then he Force Gripped Anatmon, the Weequay, and knocked him into Onurb, the Gamorrean. The cowardly mercenary cried out as he collided with the giant. Onurb squealed in protest as he pushed Anatmon away from. Kal wasn't having that, though.

Kal squeezed Onurb and Anatmon together, keeping them from breaking apart. Onurb protested by squealing, growling, grunting and stomping his feet, trying to figure out what, exactly, was keeping him rooted to his spot.

"I told you..."

Anatmon groaned.

"It told you this was bad news," Anatmon said.

Onurb squealed in panic and frustration. Kal then gripped Leinad, the Nikto, with the Force by his lapels and began to pull himself towards his associates.
"What..."

"Now, you... You go over there with your friends, you little pain in the a**," Kal chided sarcastically.

Leinad was dragged by his heels across the floor of Down Low and stuck him together with his two associates. Onurb grunted when a third body became glued to him and squealed in protest, now growing more angry than scared. Anatmon, the Weequay, simply sighed.

"Okay, I could care less about the... The bunch of you, you freaking idiots," Kal explained, pointing a finger at them, and keeping them bound together.

Using one hand to help maintain the pseudo-Force Stasis he'd concocted here, he held the other one out to catch his COM unit as he called it in. Bringing it up to his mouth, he contacted Daesha.

"Room's all clear..."

Rokumasu Kiriyu

To Anaxes

She certainly asks a lot more of me, than she's willing to answer in return.

Everything with this woman was one secret after another, and even though he knew he'd learn the answer to his questions eventually, that fact didn't ease his concerns.

"I'm afraid I don't know you well enough to amuse you with my life's story, just yet."

Roku neglected to mention that his life's story was a mystery to himself, as well. That his trip to Coruscant was meant to shed light on that very topic.

Yeah. That was such a successful adventure...

Rikka grins. "No?" she says with a playful pout before shrugging, unconcerned. "Very well - I respect that. How about I tell you a story instead?"

Settling back in her seat, the Knight crosses her legs in a casual manner. "A long, long time ago -- actually, it wasn't quite so long ago. Anyway, there was this idiot boy -- and when I say idiot, I mean foolish idiot, not simpleton idiot -- who thought he could save the world with his idiot friend -- who, impressively enough, was more idiot than himself. This boy's name was... Paul." The way she makes up the name 'Paul' on the spot makes it very obvious it's a made-up name -- but the way she makes it obvious she's making up a name clearly means she expects no questions about the pseudonym.

"Now, one day, Paul ran into a Big, Bad Guy -- girl, actually -- and he became somewhat attached to this Big Bad Girl. And when I say somewhat attached, I really mean straight up enamored and out-of-his-mind obsessed with her. For good reason, sure, but good reason ruins stories, don't you think?" Rikka asks rhetorically. She doesn't wait for an answer before continuing her thinly-veiled account of Rokumasu's life. "Then Paul became not quite so idiotic - of course, he was gigantic dumbass for falling under the Big Bad Girl's thrall, but he was less foolish in the naive way -- his friend, however, was still a naive fool. So they had a fight - I think - and then Paul disappeared, and I'm going to find him... Someday."

Point Nadir.

Darkness covered the vast amounts of dust and junk that lay scattered across the unused passages in the caverns, places untouched by light or people for a long time long. Shuffling footsteps echoed throughout the abandoned spaces of this empty area. Outside the tunnel, the heavy sound of engines could be heard, ships both incoming and departing, dampening the sounds of her scurrying about to anyone that might be near. The purple Twi'lek vanished into a side-passage, straight towards a small Com station.

There was one single human inside, scrawny, his back turned towards the approaching female as he handled the incoming transmissions. It took little effort to take him out, silently and quick, as she had been taught. With the use of his keycard, gaining access to the system proved to be equally swift. A single beep confiming entry into the system as the panel for the dock-controls unlocked. 'Authentication succes; Welcome.' She mouthed the words that appeared on the screen.

Slowly the warning lights at the bay-door started to light up as it began to close, some continued to flicker for a while as the system turned on the shields, preventing any of the small cargo ships to blast their way through. She had effectively blocked anyone from leaving the station, either to flee or to get help. At least for those docked at the Tethers. A single aimed blaster shot made sure no-one was gonna fix that anytime too soon either.

With a satisfied smile on her face, she quickly hurried out to return in hiding, before anyone was actually smart enough to check on the problem. People began to either leave their spacecraft or return to their docks as the station's exit was suddenly blocked off. The noise of machines quickly being replaced by angry complaints and shouts.

She had just managed to slip into the ventilation system to move to their first rendezvous point as Kal called in, a soft chuckle could be heard in response over the intercom with a few unclear grunts along with a loud banging from above Kal, coming from the ceiling. The moment the grid fell down to the floor, it was followed by the shapely form of a Twi'lek, landing gracefully at his side.
"And perfectly on time even... The docking bay is on lockdown, that's one worry less. Well, until word of us manages to arrive up at the Slips. But I'm not sure if that can be helped, security is bound to be top notch there."

Point Nadir, Down Low

Kal glanced at Daesha as she dropped down out of the ceiling after the ventilation grid. It wasn't like she came down with a thud. She'd landed gracefully. She was getting adept at using the Force to comfort her.

"Well, then we better make this quick," Kal said. "There's no need for anyone to know that we've got these three held hostage at the moment."

Kal turned back to the Enforcers, shock and the sensation of grim defeat evident on their faces.

"You guys work for Zietta the Hutt," Kal said, wagging a finger at them. "You guys are an embarrassment. We want you to take us to her."

"Zietta... Well, why didn't you say so?"

Kal turned at the voice. There stood a small figure in the shadows of a doorway behind him and Daesha. Less than half of Kal's height, Kal knew this had to be owner, a Toydarian named Pendal. He was dressed in a black vest and a wide-brimmed hat that would likely keep his face in shadow regardless of the environment.

"You came in here to... What... To get us to give up Zietta... To take you to Zietta... That the big plan...?"

"Uh... More or less..."

Pendal nodded, reaching for something in his vest pocket. Kal didn't detect any malicious intent coming off of him, so he didn't call-in his lightsaber, or his blaster, either of his blastswords. He kept his guard up, though. He wasn't about to be taken a fool of by some shady information broker.

"You must be--"

"Kind of a weak plan, don't you think?" Pendal asked, pulling out a spice stick.

Kal looked at Daesha for help. They'd gone over the plan together. Ambush the Enforcers at Down Low, a relatively unsupervised location on Point Nadir, considering the nature of the business conducted there, and squeeze information about Zietta's location once they'd been settled. And if Pendal got involved, that was even better. If they couldn't squeeze the information out of Zietta's cronies, then they'd surely be able to buy it off of the broker. Daesha was always better with the words, though. Kal could certainly intimidate, and he could "forcibly coerce" people to see eye-to-him with a little bit of Mind Control, but Daesha was by far the better tactician out of the two of them. It'd be a better idea for her to deal with the alien than the quick-to-anger Kal Rem.

Rokumasu listened as she rambled on, through her story. He was relieved that she didn't push the matter of his activities, before their encounter, but it wasn't unreasonable seeing how little she had told him. Her demeanor and posture made it appear as if the entire story was meant to be taken lightly, similar to a joke or a satirical tale.

"Sucks to be Paul. Sounds like he's lived a rough life."

If the story were an actual account of someone's life, there really wouldn't be much else to say. After enduring a series of events similar, Roku imagined that most would just end their own lives, to put a stop to it all. He couldn't imagine any of it to be true, though. She certainly didn't make it out to be.
