...Conspiracies... I pose the question:
Which is more corrupt, the US Government, The Catholic Church, or the Entire Crime Industry?
At least one good thing will come out of all this...As RPers, we have the (not so) real life experience to handle it, Post-Apocalyptic, just one of the many scenarios in the works. And since half of us are social outcasts in one way or another anyway... less people = more fun *thumbs up*
Quick question around Ascension, when these people come back down from the sumit, are their changes going to be a lot more swift and dramatic? Or, like us, are they only going to gradually change? Example would be like walking zombies of their former selfs, before then moving on to Dead Space-like horrifying mutilated distortions?

So, they already threw Osama's body into the Sea......how convenient....
For conspiracies, i say everything is corrupt, and i don't think there is anything we can do about it....
And they will be utter abominations. The magic will have corrupted their flesh, and minds, making them killing machines. No purpose but to take us all out. Drawn by the power within us. They will have some recognizable features though. The townsfolk will know that these are the people they knew.

Catholic Church, all the way. Shortly following is US Government. Why do I say this? Assassin's creed has opened my eyes to just how corrupted someone so called "in the eyes of God" can be. And to be in more power? Who do you think has more power? The President or the Pope? Dude, religion scares me.
Anyway. I agree with you Shadow, we are somewhat well equipped to deal with this. xD I haven't had any good ideas for a medieval themed roleplay in a while. _ ▄

Lol that is a good find Emily.... goddamned megatron....
No i would not go to seabeck. I would go deeper. Out to a lake I found when I went on an adventure with some hippy folk. It is so far away from civilization that we couldn't even get a radio signal. There are plenty of fish in those waters as well. Could stay hidden for a very long time, though getting information would be impossible, I think it would be worth it. Literally, it is hours worth of travel towards nowhere..... surrounded by mountains that would shield us from potential nuclear blasts at major cities..... I would be gone haha.....
Religion is only bad when people are blind about it. I am utterly against organized religion, yet there are plenty of very intelligent and worthwhile people of every religion.

Religion as a concept is wonderful. It gives people direction, morals, and faith. It's when the masses (haha double meaning) become blinded by that direction.

Direction and morals don't come from religion. I am a closet atheist and dating a very militant atheist, and we're both more moral than most of the Christians we know.

Atheists can be just as bad as religious people. Look at Joseph Stalin, called religion an evil opiate, yet killed millions of his own people. As did Mao. Athiests can be extreme, many deny the importance of the individual, and the human soul, don't even believe in the soul, therefore justify the slaughter of countless people. Spreading the belief that man should sacrifice himself for the good of man. Communism holds hands with Atheism, and it doesn't get much eviler than that.
Christianity's face preaches loving everyone, but then in the actual scriptures there is god murdering millions of people, and telling his followers it is okay to kill and rape the virgin women of their enemies.
Islam is like Christianity, only with even more stuff in the text about how all the infidels must burn.
Eastern Religions talk about how everything is eternal, so everyone should be happy since you shall be reborn and enlightenment is key. Yet at the same time they justify being treated as worthless and dying in the name of someone else, since this life doesn't matter anyway. The great supreme reward in Buddhism is that you become a Buddha, and are removed from the cycle of life, therefore your great reward is to cease being..... shitty
Wiccans, Satanists, "Pagans" Are just little attention whores who want to rebel by joining a group. being-nonconformist by conforming to a smaller tribe. These religions all popped up within the past 100 years or so and are completely based on current interpretations of what people think are ancient ideals, but really is just lies are drama churned up by pseudo-intellectuals.
Scientology is redonkulous. A religion based on the works of a crappy sci-fi author, who thinks we are all the spirits of an alien race killed off by a space tyrant who tricked them into thinking he was doing tax inspections and drugged them then threw them into volcanoes and captured their souls and programmed their brain at a giant movie theater to construct all the horrible things that would happen in the world.
Those are my opinions. As you can see, i am against every religion, I try my best to not single anyone out. So if anyone is offended by it please slap me.
It can also go the other way for every religion, there are good people in every group.

The Apocalypse, if there is one, will probably be over in an instant, and we will probably all be wiped out without warning.
If that isn't the case, in my opinion, that means morality is thrown out the window, life becomes a game for at least a few generations, and humanities lust for power will send us into the darkest ages ever lived.
It sounds like fun to me.

Oh, and as for not wanting to live forever, that's too bad.
Nothingness cannot exist, there can be an absence of matter, but true nothingness, is not a possibility. Nothingness is not even a conceivable idea, it is more than just a space with nothing in it, it cannot even be space itself. Nothing could possibly apply to it. Because nothingness cannot exist, we cannot become nothing. Even if we do not exist in the form we currently do, there is no escape from existing in some form, even if it is not tangible. I say instead of begging for death, or even thinking about death, you live your life. Don't waste it with speculation. Your life is a collection of events, make them good ones. Laugh at the wretched things that happen to you. Because in a story you would laugh when wretched things happens to someone, just because it is you doesn't mean you should wallow in sadness. Grow up, move on, be happy. This is life, realize just how beautiful the world is. People are disgusting... true, but life is beautiful. Even crying is beautiful....
Thats my opinion anyway....
