Outside Courthouse - Blocks From the Mall

User Image▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

The incident that was taking place at the mall was not unknown to the three politicians holding public conference mere streets away. Road blocks had been set up, with security intended on keeping the crowd safe…The speakers had refused to back down, or reschedule. Nevermind, that their stubbornness split police task forces in half…This was what allowed the chaos in the mall to continue, far longer than it should have. They believed that to give in to the mutant related riot and show fear would damage their constituency. The scene that was slowly unfolding at the nearby courthouse, was just as striking—Just as important, just as damaging to the mutant population.

If not more so.

On the courthouse steps, Senator Robert Kelly, the last republican vying for votes, was holding his regal court slash anti-mutant rally in an effort to drum up support for legislation to support the removal of all mutants civil rights…Not just some of them… All, of them.

His goal was not to make them second class citizens…But to remove citizenship entirely.

“My fellow Americans. We face a situation that is dire at best, grave at worst.” The Senator seemed to come to life when the cameras were pointed directly at him. “We as normal, human citizens of this nation have come under fire from a menace, a threat to our very existence!”

A few random people began shouting anti-mutant rhetoric while Senator Kelly paused in his speech…His head hanging low, with something that was meant to represent humility… Which caused more and more people to begin chiming in… The masses surged, and mutants that hid in the shadows shrank further away… The police, fully plated in riot gear shifted nervously…This crowd was just as ready, just as blood thirsty as the reports from the mall…

The senator merely smiled, and simply raised his hands to quell the rising volume of voices.

“These mutants have infiltrated our very infrastructure! They could be anyone …. People that you know. People that you trust with your children! Your local postman. Your neighborhood paperboy. Your local convenience store clerk. They are everywhere!” Senator Kelly pointed at a middle-aged woman in the crowd, who immediately looked wide eyed—Appalled. “You could be one of them for all I know.“

“And so could you sir—Yes, you!”
The senator pointed at a man no older than twenty-five. The eyes of the crowd seemed to shift to the two citizens pointed out warily, but with the police and Secret Service standing so close and alert….The distaste and intent in the crowd remained a simmering boil.

No one seemed willing to start anything truly damaging…Yet.

“It shames me to say…Mutants have been running rampant amongst our society, free from the scrutiny of the law… Free from the scrutiny of the government of the United States of America.” Then, Kelly seemed to be beaming with pride with what he had to say next.

“I have drafted a legislation, on my own, to put an end to the mutant menace,” he stated, “This legislation, if enacted, will force any and all mutants out in the open…It will force any mutant to register with a special bureau to be instituted upon passage of this bill. It will round up any and all mutants into specially cordoned areas, designed to separate them from normal humans…There is also a special provision written into the bill that will force any and all male mutants to be chemically castrated...And the same chemical sterilization for female mutants. This will, most assuredly, halt the mutant menace at the source.”

The crowd roared in approval; approval of Kelly’s stance against those born differently and approval of all things mentioned in the announced legislation. The people surged back and forth…The voices growing louder and louder. The mob seemed to undulate like one massive unit and Kelly, being the narcissist he was, was enjoying every last second of it. That was until something…Unsavory, happened. “As it stands, we already have incarcerated twelve mutants for their crimes… For being mutants, for being a menace!”

Just then, the sounds of sheering and twisted metal began to permeate the air…It was loud, so piercing and shrill that the voices in the crowd fell silent as their hands covered their ears. The once moving crowd now rest at a stand still. Kelly himself and his personal bodyguards were also frozen in place, looking for the source… A murmur of fear and panic came over the crowd while they were stationary… Whispers, and theories…

That was when he appeared.

Location: Just Outside the Mall
Group: Alpha's
Temperament: Hurried

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
“They’re fine Siren—Someone had a gun, but it’s taken care of.”, Rogue responded aloud, knowing that to some of the newer Alpha’s, she might look insane. She was…Rather surprised, grim faced at how far things had gotten. If the outside of the mall was anything to go by… The inside was worse. She’d never seen so many mutants out in the open before… Fighting like this.

Well, aside from X-Men missions.

The group they’d brought with them seemed to disperse, easily making use of their skills and various abilities to help those in need—Even those who weren’t particularly grateful. But that was the way of it. The X-Men received no thanks, no gratitude…Nothing. The Alpha’s would soon get used to that. The world hated and feared them.

But she was proud of them. They were all adapting, doing so well on such short notice.

There was an explosion, gunfire, all manner of things that Scott would never believe happened at the –mall- of all places. It was starting to look more and more like a war zone, and the less like a place for retail therapy.

Hearing Eli message her over the comm, she shook her head when he sounded like me might panic about tugging the door off it’s hinges. “Don’t worry darlin’—This place has a lot worse to worry about than a door off it’s hinges. Just keep to mission…”

She moved forward, only to pause beside Logan who seemed to be staring at nothing.

“What’s wrong, suga?”

Logan didn’t say anything for a moment, before breathing in deeply—Speaking around a lit cigar in betwixt his lips. “Something doesn’t smell…Right.”

“No kidding.”, Rogue responded, before moving forward when some of the entrance seemed to spark and dip—And she flew up to stop it from falling on a small group of shoppers that headed towards their vehicles…Human or mutant, they still reacted with fear.

Only to hear her comm go off with Scott’s voice. Hadn’t he told her they weren’t using comm’s? To be conspicuous?

“You have a problem. Magneto is four blocks away from you, he just showed up on the news. Be careful.”

Rogue’s eyes widened just slightly…Magneto? Erik Lehnsherr? Was here? After all this time…He’d not made a sound. They’d barely had any contact with him, outside of one small incident a few years ago.

“Damn.”

Dropping down to the ground, she spoke again into the air—Hoping that the Alpha team leader was still listening. She didn't want to announce it over the comm, and cause any more panic than absolutely necessary. Perhaps it was just a coincidence...Right. As if that ever happened. Magneto is in the city, not far from us.”

“Keep your eyes peeled…”

No wonder, the police that they’d seen blocked from the other side hadn’t shown up yet. The veteran mutant couldn’t help but have a sinking feeling about the whole situation. She looked towards Wolverine, knowing he’d heard…He was no where to be seen. Obviously, he'd already moved inside. Gambit wouldn't be happy to hear this, and she hailed him down from where he worked near the cars, trying to direct traffic out of the mall.

This wasn’t good.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Location: Courthouse
Affiliation: The Brotherhood

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

There was no mistaking who it was that had decided to show his face. There, in all his majesty, like the king and spokesperson for the entire mutant population, floating effortlessly…Arms crossed, expression nigh murderous. On the ground below marched part of his personal army, his Brotherhood. The Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Sauron, Pyro, and Avalanche all moved forward like good little soldiers.

With so many police and secret service in the area….One would have thought they would have moved to act. There were so few mutants, and so many of them. But Magneto inspired fear and dread in the hearts of New York citizens like a force of nature… It was as if September 11th took place all over again, right in front of their eyes—In the very moment his voice echoed them all.

He was responsible for the senseless deaths of millions. He was a mass murderer, and a psychopath. He was to be regarded only with fear. Utter, terror.

“Senator Robert Kelly,” the master of Magnetism boomed over the dying fervor of the frozen crowd, “I come here today to demand the release of all of my mutant brethren that are unjustly imprisoned by you…Both the twelve you have in captivity… And the hundreds you have imprisoned in your testing facility…I come to demand that you revoke this so-called legislation that you have drafted.”

Even though the good Senator was frozen in place, he could still speak… He stuttered once, looking at the men beside him—Before snarling at the maroon clad man… “The United States government does NOT negotiated with terrorists!”

“TERRORISTS!?!?,” Magneto yelled at the top of his lungs, causing the crowd to flinch…They split like the red sea to allow him passage…“Terrorists?”

He moved himself lower to the ground, to look directly into the panic stricken Senator’s eyes. “We are terrorists because we are fighting and clawing for a piece of ground to stand on as a people? As legal citizens of the United States? As citizens of the world?”

While he levitated in mid-air, he turned to face the once cheering and roaring crowd of people. The calculating eyes set inside his skull scanned over them, all scared little sheep waiting to be culled and slaughtered.

“Years ago, when I was a boy,” Magneto said, continuing his diatribe, “Similar acts, similar legislation was performed. Legislation that enabled the Holocaust… And the subsequent slaughter of six million Jews. Six million people who were deemed 'not normal' by government officials not unlike yourself, Senator Kelly… Back then, I did not have the power to fight against such cruel, blind depravity. I wasn’t able to stop what was happening. Now, I stand firm against these actions that are once again leveled towards my people, my mutant brethren.”

Still with his back to the Senator, Magneto turned his head slightly and coldly stated, “Again Senator, I demand the release of any and all of my mutant brethren in custody. If you refuse, then every five minutes either or any of my Brotherhood of Mutants will take a flatscan into OUR custody.” As he continued speaking, the sounds of sirens began reverberating throughout the cityscape, all focused on getting to the courthouse. There was a mutant terrorist, who was at large, making himself extremely visible to the American public.

Senator Kelly, though shaking in his boots stood firm—Whipping off his reading glasses to stare defiantly at Magneto. “THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS!”

The look in Magneto’s eyes grew from one of menace to one of apathy…This was, perhaps more worrisome than the first. He had every intention of following through with his word, however, he had hoped it would be avoided entirely.

“Very well, Senator. Pietro, if you would please?” Adhering to the order, Quicksilver darted into the crowd and darted back in a split-second… a child no more than twelve tucked underneath his arm.

“This is to prove that my words are not just idle threats. Every five minutes that comes by, we will take another… And another. It does not matter if they are equivalent to how many mutants you have incarcerated, but their safety and well being is in your hands, dear Senator.” The sirens began to get closer and closer until the entire area was swarming with members of not only the reserve police force, but SHIELD. As impressive as they were…Guns leveled…It wasn’t as if Magneto couldn’t freeze them in place as well, it was that he didn’t want to. So he remained. Officers swarmed out of their cars, each with a firearm at the ready, all aimed at Magneto and his acolytes.

“Don’t shoot until I say so! Not until we clear the area of civilians!,” the acting Chief of Police ordered, standing by a far-off squad car, a bullhorn in hand.

“You dare to threaten the Master of Magnetism with bullets?,” Magneto scoffed, “You threaten me period while I hold my brothers and sister at bay, keeping them from shedding YOUR blood?” Just when he said that, there was a massive crack in the air; a shot fired from a VERY nervous rookie.

The bullet sailed until it was within two inches from Magneto’s face… and it slowly came to a stop… Yet it hovered there, frozen in mid air, fully under Magneto’s command. It was then that his look of apathy changed again…Returning to turned to one of complete and utter malice. Yes, he had acted first by ordering the capture of a human child, but he'd remained unharmed.

“Just remember humans, that violence will always beget violence... Your civilian supporters can flee now. I have…An entire mall full of human hostages that will do just as well. Don’t you agree, Senator?” Finally, Magneto let his feet touch the ground and finally he let go of his control of the assembled crowd of people, the Senator and his security detail the only exceptions. The crowd immediately started to stampede away--People scrambling in sheer panic to get away from him. He landed directly behind the assembled ranks of the Brotherhood and started stalking up the courthouse steps, Senator Kelly in his sights.

“Pyro! Alert Mystique that…Excessive force, is now required. The rest of you...,” Magneto again said quite cruelly, “Have fun…And show these creatures no mercy.”

Isabella racked her brain, trying to make sure that she’d just heard the spider mutant correctly…Who could she have possibly been referring to? She cradled the shoulder that had hid the ground so indelicately, knowing that the broken piece of concrete she’d hit wouldn’t be kind to her later. Leonardo, whom, in her distraction, she hadn’t even realized was beside her voiced his thoughts on the situation, and her lips pressed into a thin line.

“That’s what I’d like to know…”, she returned, just loud enough that she could be heard by her fellow Alpha, the noise in the mall sufficiently drowning out her incredulousness.

She pushed herself up off the ground, emerald eyes scanning her surroundings… She knew that Rogue had brought the rest of the Alpha’s, and a few of the Senior X-Men to try and contain the situation…But there really wasn’t anymore containing it. The only thing left to do, was to make sure that no one else was injured… The more volatile humans and mutants would have to be subdued…

But the words of the Spider-Woman nagged at her. Nagged, and pulled in such a way that she couldn’t forget it. Couldn’t dismiss it as crazed ramblings.

Hearing Gideon’s voice through her comm, she fell silent—Picking the worst time humanly possible to remember their fight. “Yeah, we’ve got it covered.”

There was something she wasn’t seeing—Hadn’t seen. Something they were all missing. She knew this to be…As true as grass was green, or the sky was blue. It felt close, that if she could only sit for a moment and breath…She felt as if the answer may come to her. Rogue must have been busy, because it had taken her a moment to respond to her first message…Relief flooded her, that the gun had been removed from play.

As much as they’d all trained, and trained hard…A gun was still a gun—And a bullet could still kill.

Pressing her comm, she stopped herself from using it…And instead relied on her ability to speak to the Senior X-Woman. Bella questioned the woman about how they’d gotten in, mapping possible escape routes. ~If the way you got into the mall is clear, we should start sending those that aren’t causing problems out. There’s a lot of families and lost individuals still hiding in the food court.~

She winced as she heard the sound of glass breaking, screaming. Pillars fell and chunks of the ceiling came down… It seemed like more and more mutants were getting brave. More and more humans wanted their pound of flesh—It was soon to become even more of a free-for-all. She could see snakes pouring from the north area, beyond the fountain… The sounds of something akin to lasers going off not far away.

It was…Exceedingly strange, that there were so many mutants congregating in one place.

Aurelie arrived with the little mutant girl that she’d rescued, and Bella nodded her head when she mentioned the girl coming home with them. If she had no one else, it was the right thing to do. And not long after that, Eli, Alex, and Reggie arrived near them. Isabella listened for the others, wishing they were closer…But at the same time, hoping they were having better luck with helping the riot simmer down.

Some of the Alpha’s were nearer than others, but they were still much too far for her to be personally happy. How could she keep them safe, so separated.

Tapping into her ability once again, this time she spoke to Rogue, Wolverine, and Gambit…Tara was right, there were other groups outside, still trying to keep things under control…But…

~Flintlock will be passing through with a child—Allegra found her, and she doesn’t have anywhere to go.~

"Thanks.", she stated to the girl quickly, again growing distracted by a need for a plan-- For some sense of order in the middle of this storm.

There, at least now she had a bit of peace of mind that several senior X-Men would be watching out for Reggie. It was sweet of her to take the girl with her, but it made Bella feel infinitely better that she would have friendly back up.

She looked towards Leo, Aurelie, Eli, Alex and any of the others that had arrived and motioned towards some of the humans stuck to the walls by the Spider-Woman’s webbing. “See what you guys can do about getting them down…Don’t get stuck in it yourselves.”

Once again, another message caught her attention… And this one made Isabella freeze in place. She swallowed hard, remembering all too well the devastation that had been New York…The hell that had become Genosha. Bringing her comm to her lips for an all page to the Alpha’s, she deemed it necessary to…Warn them. She understood, why Rogue would have kept things quiet but… They couldn’t not know. “All Alpha’s—If possible, re-group inside near the fountain. There may be…Trouble. More trouble. Be on your guard.”

The Spider-Woman had gone back to snapping at anyone that got to near, ranting about how unfair the world was and ignoring them in general. Isabella moved to walk closer to the woman intent on tying her up with her own webbing if necessary—Only to shield her eyes as a bright light flashed—The store front of Abercrombie and Fitch blowing out as merchandise burst into flame.

She raised her hand instinctively, having left the protective shield that Aurelie had raised. Siren gathered sound waves that permeated the air—And pulled them in a wide arc that pushed the glass that came towards herself on another path. The Spider-Woman leapt up and started clapping her hands gleefully, muttering about how things would soon change.

The waterless fire suppression system turned on, putting out some of the flames, causing smoke to rise from the area…But some of the fire remained, and it churned, growing brighter—swirling to take shape. Isabella gasped as a large dragon flew about, weaving through the sprays of chemical agent that would have put a normal fire out. She was forced to duck and move as a dragon screamed overhead…She could feel the heat from it, her stomach dropping to her feet.

Only to drop even lower as she saw the Aquatic Mutant they’d saved from being unjustly locked up by the rent-a-cops, laying flat on his back. Moving forward quickly, she dodged under the flame, and around the grey cloud of chemical from the fire suppression system… “Hey! Are you all right?”

He nodded his head, and Isabella offered him her hand to help him up—Relieved that the blast hadn’t killed him…But incredibly anxious. The dragon of flame moved overhead, catching other things on fire, causing general mayhem.

“Thanks.”, the boy responded to her, coming to his feet… Only to tighten his grip on her hand.

Isabella stopped looking from the blown out store front, back towards the boy, her brow creasing slightly as she frowned. “Ease up…I know it’s scary but—You’re hurting me.”

He squeezed harder.

“I need you to let go. You’re hurting me.”

It never dawned on her to demand that he do so-- To use her ability again him. He was just an innocent bystander.

The boy said nothing, but smirked suddenly—Using his grasp on her hand to twist her arm around, bending it back in a way that it should never go. “Are you going to cry? How pathetic.”

The Aquatic Mutant that had been the source of all this trouble…The indirect cause of the fight that had brought them all here…Slowly slipped out of existence. He was replaced by the form of a blue skinned mutant with red hair.

Isabella caught a glimpse of the woman out of the corner of her eye…Remembering her from Sinister’s lab. From the files the X-Men kept on known villains. Her eyes widened with shock in a way she couldn't control. “You!”

It’s about time you figured it out, little girl.”, Mystique responded, pulling a rather large gun from a holster on her side that hadn’t been visible before. “Remind me to thank that little blond and her boyfriend. They made this…So much easier.”

“I remember you. Open your mouth, and your little friends will be able to see daylight through your head.”

A man came out of the burning Abercrombie and Fitch behind them, his blond hair spiked. His eyes were hidden by goggles, and he wore a large, reinforced pack on his back of some kind. “Wondered when you were gonna show up. Magneto said that it’s time to stop playing nice.”

He cracked his neck, and moved his hands—Directing the flames he’d caused towards some of the families hidden under the tables in the food courts. “Someone should do something about this fire system. It’s really crampin my style.”

“Indeed.”, Mystique responded with a sneer, taking the gun from Isabella to shoot at the system the mall used to put out fires. Once the canisters were cracked, the nitrogen that kept it cold spread and froze the metal—Spreading through the pipeline causing it to malfunction and fall from the ceiling in chunks. “There. Now go. Round up the humans.”

Looking around, Mystique put her gun back on Isabella and covered her mouth with her hand. There was one player in her game that hadn't made his appearance yet... And it annoyed her. But she was sure Sabertooth was around. Ready, to sink his claws into disobedient, white hat flesh. “X-Men! I know you’re here. Come on out… Where ever you are.”

The group of Junior X-Men standing near the fountain wold find themselves boxed in between Mystique and another mutant--Toad. He grinned impishly at the females in the group and cat called as he rest down on his haunches. His eyes lingered on Aurelie and Alex...He'd always liked the blond ones. "I'll tell ya. Xavier sure knows how to pick sweet dolls. Yo Mystique-- Can I keep one?"

As Aurelie asked if Leo was alright when he was tossed by the large mutant, Leo winced slightly before nodding, fishing his comm out of his pocket to respond. “Yeah, I’m alright, thanks.”

The others started arriving where he and Bella were, near the fountain, a lot of them the newbies who he had spoken with this afternoon, such as Lexi and Reggie… who he still needed to tell that he wasn’t out to get her. Aurelie returned with a small mutant child in her arms, explaining that they should take her back to the Institute. Leo agreed… but then again, they couldn’t take every mutant that screamed for help… you’d think the X-Mansion would get crowded after awhile. There were also faces that he recognized; Eli and Tara… the latter of whom looked much different (and better) by not being in zombie form. Even lone wolf Gideon had shown up, trying to help with crowd control and helping some little kids. And then there was a blond girl he hadn’t recognized… even newer than the other newbies? How was that even possible? Whatever the case, there was a pretty full assembled team here now… only a few others were missing.

Bella gave her orders, sending Reggie… uh… Flintlock, on her way, and then she told the rest of them to help get down the others. Leonardo nodded, spotting a man who seemed to be in his mid to late twenties who had been knocked to the floor and then spun, struggling to break free from the webbing. As he reached over to forcibly rip him from the webbing, he made sure to not get so much on himself. Spider webs, however small they naturally occur, were some of the hardest substances known to man. Eventually with some creative working he was able to free the man from the clutches of the web. As he helped the man on his feet… the man did something unexpected. He actually uttered a ‘thank you’ before running off towards the exit. Maybe not all humans were racist against mutants, even in the middle of a riot in these hard times.

Leonardo noticed the look of shock on Bella’s face… and then her subsequent order to all Alphas to meet at the fountain. She had heard something that froze her to the core… but what was it?

Bella? Bella, what’s wrong?” Leonardo asked, but his leader seemed too spaced out to notice him, or maybe she just couldn’t hear him over the roar of the crowd. So Leo tried to repeat himself; “Bella, what’s wro–”

He couldn’t get the words out fast enough as the explosion burst from Abercrombie and Fitch, and then strangely took form, turning into a giant, great dragon. Oh great… they had a fire manipulator around here somewhere. Looking back over to see that his leader was alright, she noticed that she was helping up the Aquatic Mutant that he had helped what seemed like forever ago. In all of the confusion, he had actually forgotten about him for a time. But then suddenly the Aquatic Mutant did something very uncharacteristic of him. He suddenly twisted Bella around, probably bringing pain to the Alpha leader. “Hey!” Leo shouted, not exactly sure what to do. Then he transformed… transformed into the blue-skinned assassin Mystique… whom he knew all too well from reading the SHIELD files on dangerous mutants. Instinctively Leo reached for the gun that he had placed in his pocket… only to find that it was gone. Dammit… Leo cursed to himself; it must’ve fallen out of his pocket as he was thrown in the McDonald’s. Then Pyro emerged, along with Toad… this was getting worse by the minute. He had read the files on all of them… and knew that there was one person that tied them all together… Magneto. Just thinking the name made Leo shudder. So where was the master of magnetism? He was probably them master behind all of this mess. Leonardo slowly backed up towards the group of Alphas by the fountain… unaware of what to do about his leader. Leo was good at hand-to-hand, sure… but not enough to go toe-to-toe with Mystique. If the Alphas stood united though… they might have a chance.

“You even try to come near them and I’ll rip your throat out,” Leonardo said in response to Toad’s comment, raising a protective arm out in front of the group. His eyes shifted from the frog mutant to the pyrokinetic to Mystique, his mind working at triple time in order to come up with a tactical solution to this mess.. Then he had to try and remember the people in his group and what powers they had. His mind instantly went to Eli and his magnetokinetic abilities… if Pyro’s canister on his back was metal… Eli could either remove it or destroy it all together. There were enough of them there to go two-on-one with them until the others arrived… if that would even help. Where was the first priority, though? Their leader was captured… that was probably first. Pyro was harassing the humans in the mall… second. Toad hadn’t done anything yet, so third. He could direct… wait, did he have the power to direct his teammates? Leo had to constantly remind himself that he wasn’t a leader anymore… but he did know how to act in these situations. Without much movement he tapped Tara and Lexi’s arms, nodding his head in the direction of Toad, mouthing the words, Keep an eye on him. Their wind and earth based attacks should be enough to keep the normally short-ranged Toad out of reach… hopefully. Then he stepped over to Eli, placing a hand on his shoulder and whispering in his ear, “Try and see if flame-boy’s backpack is metal… and see if you can get a fix on it. Don’t go until we’ve got Bella safe, though.” As for Mystique… that was up to him and Aurelie… and the blond chick (Alex) he didn’t know. Gideon was more than likely to come over once seeing his girlfriend with a gun pressed to her head… so luckily they had the Wolverine clone’s support as well.

Stepping forward slightly to get Mystique’s attention, Leo said, “Alright, you’ve got our attention. What do you want?” Leo could only hope that they could get Bella and get out of this mess… the situation was becoming more of a war zone. Having the Omegas as back-up would do nicely right about now… especially if Cissa was leading the pack.

Reggie wrapped her arms protectively around the child. She looked at the girl who told her that there were more Alphas outside(Tara) and nodded, "Good. I'm probably going to need all the help I can get." She could have probably gotten the girl out alone, but that would require hurting some humans badly. She'd rather not do that, because she wasn't that kind of person. If she could avoid unnecessary death or pain, she'd go that route. She smiled at Eli, "Hell's not the word. And let's not get too ahead of ourselves, one step at a time." Then she caught a glimpse of Leo and she frowned, then looked away. She had the violent urge to punch him in the face, as hard as she could in her current steel state, but she knew she had more important things to do. She sighed and smiled to Alex, "I think you should stay and help Bella. Things are getting pretty tight in here, and your powers would be invaluable to finding hidden threats." Reggie believed this to be true. She wouldn't need anyone with extra senses, because she'd be running most of the time. And if she ran fast enough, no one would get the chance to get the little girl in her arms.

When Bella made her announcement. What more trouble could they have? Her head throbbed dully, this was getting to be a lot. Nevertheless, she cleared everything from her mind and focused on the kid, starting towards the entrance to the mall. But when the storefront exploded, she turned her back to it quickly and dropped to her knees, protecting the girl with her body. When she was sure that the explosion had ended, she sat the girl on her feet and patted her hands down her body, "Are you okay?" When the child nodded Reggie sighed in relief, then picked her back up, looking over to the source of the explosion. She watched as Bella went over and crouched next to a kid. Then her eyes grew wide as the kid changed into a blue woman. Reggie began to back up, intending to take the kid and run, but stopped when she saw the strange man with the tank on his back. He must have been the mutant who caused the fire. Careful not to hurt her, Reggie tightened her grip slightly on the child as the girl began to quake in fear.

Reggie whipped around when the frog man spoke, backing up slowly towards the rest of the Junior X-Men. She scowled as the mutant gazed at Alex and the other blonde(Aurelie), moving to stand in front of Alex in an instinctively protective manner. She glared at the frog mutant, "Watch were you'r looking, you creeper. You can't have anyone in this group." She looked around, there was no way she was getting back outside. Yet, she couldn't fight with this kid in her arms. Finding their options slowly dwindling, she glanced over and saw the Blue mutant was holding a gun to Bella's head. Could this get any worse? When Leo started issuing orders, Reggie decided that she'd just keep an eye on the frog man. He didn't seem to be all that strong, or even really all that intimidating. Reggie felt that he was the one who was the butt of all the jokes in... Well, in whatever organization these three mutants came from. She glanced at the others in their group, "Anyone know where these goons are coming from?"

Eli listened to the com. Magneto, a magnokinect, like himself, but far more superior than him in that department. He listened intently to the orders. At first he prepped for Bella's command, until Leo pointed out a good point. "I'll meet up with you guys when I've done all that I can, let's just hope that pack is metal." He said. Turning in his needed direction, Eli rushed as fast as he could to his target.

Eli scanned around the mall as he moved to the source of fire. The few remaining looters inside scattered in panic from the explosions and flames. Fire vs Magnetokinesis. "For the love of God," Eli muttered to himself. "I really hope that pack of his is metal."

Finally, the pyromancer was found. Eli tried finding any metal on him. But every time he tried to just do a mass pull, nothing happened. -GOD DAMNIT!- was what Eli wanted to yell at the top of his lungs. But, alas, he still held the element of surprise. He looked around to see what he had. The iron grates that pulled down at stores entrances when they closed, various metal nick nacks, steel girders, and a couple of chairs and a trash can. Oh, and of course his BBs. If he could, he'd aim to rupture the tank somehow. if not, force him to use up everything he had, before Eli reached his limits. He pulled out his bag of BBs and kept a handful.

❃❂❁❀✿✾✽✼✻✺✹✸✷ ✶✵✴❄❅❆❇❈❉❊❋❖❤❥❦❧ ☀

Alex could hear Lexi mentioning how they had her back. A warm smile appeared at hearing that. "Thank you. That means a lot." The smile stayed on her face as Reggie mentioned how Alex's powers would help find hidden threats. It made her feel a bit stupid for not thinking of her power being useful in that area! However, in the end, Alex let her slip up slid off her back. That is why it is best to talk to others. They offer points of view you will not think of otherwise. "You are right there. I will hopefully be able to find them." However, the events that would occur next happened too quickly for her to forewarn.

As Siren told them to see what they could do about the spider-webs, Alex tapped her chin. If only I had a knife or something to cut it with. Her eyes looked around for anything nearby. However, she had no luck finding anything useful. Maybe I can go somewhere to find a knife? That was when Siren issued another order, this time to all Alpha's. She looked over at Siren to notice her look of shock. The sensory adaptor felt herself move closer to her, wondering what was wrong. The man(Leo) seemed to be doing the same. But, before Alex could ask her own question, she heard an explosion.

Immediately, she ducked down and gripper her hat tightly around her head. Her position almost made her look like a frail child as she whimpered softly. What is going on? When the explosion finished, Alex allowed herself to look towards the source. Her eyes widened as she saw a fire dragon swirling about, burning everything in its' path. Wow! Is that the power of someone that can control fire? Admittedly, the French girl gained a new respect for fire manipulators.

The French girl stood up slowly, moving back towards the girl(Aurelie), Reggie, and the others. These are some crazy events! Her back had been turned to Siren, not noticing someone happened to be harming her. She turned only after the man(Leo) yelled. Alex felt a shiver go down her spine as she watched the boy turn into someone else. A shape shifter? The sensory adaptor felt she had seen this particular mutant before. Her mind couldn't quite recall where. Maybe I have seen her on TV before? Within moments, two other mutants came into view.

One(Pyro) seemed to be the fire manipulator that had created the fire dragon. Then, the other one reminded her of a frog. She felt the creepy crawlies as the frog man(Toad) asked Mystique, the blue skinned mutant from before, if he could keep one. He is one of those creepers. Ugh! Just the way he is looking at me makes me feel in the need of a shower! She had wanted to run right then and there! However, Alex could see they were boxed in by the frog man and Mystique. This is not good. Luckily, Reggie and the man(Leo) showed their determination not to allow the frog man(Toad) to get her or the girl(Aurelie). I feel a bit safer now knowing they will at least try and protect us from...him...

The man(Leo) seemed to be taking charge. While she never heard him say an order out loud, he seemed to be directing the other girl(Tara) and Lexi towards the frog man(Toad). Then, the man(Leo) seemed to talk to Eli about something. Due to her not having her hearing enhanced, she couldn't hear what was said. However, Eli running off towards the fire manipulator(Pyro) gave her a good idea of what was said. Good luck Eli!

Reggie spoke then, asking if anyone of them knew where the goons were coming from. She shook her head. "I do not, but maybe I can find out." She closed her eyes and started to enhance her hearing. Her body cringed as everything started to become insanely loud. But, Alex needed to find the location of the enemies’ point of entry. After a few moments, the French girl felt she could start searching. However, she felt like a sitting duck with how closed off she felt.

Thus, her eyes opened slowly, noticing the man(Leo) was trying to catch Mystique’s attention. Even though her enhanced hearing made her want to close her eyes, the French girl did her best to keep them open. I hope him and the girl(Aurelie) can help Siren. The sensory adaptor looked over at Reggie and smiled. "If you can, can you make sure to watch my back? Most of my concentration is going to be on sorting through these sounds so I can maybe find their entry point." With this, she put her trust in Reggie and started her search.

Omega.
Danger Room: Simulation. Protip: What sounds like a good idea now may not be so upon implementation.

Okay so maybe she bit off a bit more than she could chew. Megan thought with a glance over her shoulder as she scrambled towards the alley. She wanted maybe three or four. She got seven...seriously who sends seven people to deal with a single person? Someone who was overcompensating that’s who. So Megan swapped the gun to her other hand and took a few shots as she hit the alley not stopping to see if she even hit anything. Kerrigan coming out of a door and firing over her shoulder had Megan dropping her head on instinct, not that she thought that the red haired Omega would hit her but it was that knee jerk reaction. ”I’m going I’m going...” She skidded to a halt making it past Kerrigan who had taken a hit and turned and took a few shots down the alley and pegged an attacker. About the only saving grace for Megan was that the alley was narrow so all she needed to do was spray a few shots and she was almost certain to hit something. She really needed lessons but then she wasn’t much of a ranged attacker.

Her comm. beeped at her telling her that she had been hit. Megan couldn’t recall getting shot and looked at the back of her hand to see a scorch mark from where a shot had dinged her. Had this been live ammo that would have hurt...a lot and it probably would have gone through her hand...bullets sucked like that. Taking the hint Megan scrambled for cover as shots riddled the ground where she had been sitting. ”Lesson learned...don’t get any more bright ideas.” Or at least don’t act on them until you run them through a filter first to check if they were indeed a good idea. She swung her weapon up and sprayed a few more rounds down the alleyway nicking one attacker and sending the rest scrambling themselves. So that at least meant that they weren’t shooting at her and Kerrigan for a moment or two. So that was a few down and a few left to go and one was wounded. Great odds...maybe. "Sorry about this...it sounded like a good idea at the time..." She said waiting to see where they were going to move next.

ALPHA:At the mall riot : Great things weren't bad enough before..

User ImageGideon was certainly still annoyed about the beer bottle smashed over his head. Even if he could understand why the parents did kinda attack him, wanting to protect their children and all. But really a bottle to the head and he hadn't even made a hostile gesture towards the kids. Nope he was standing over them protectively shielding them from harm. But oh well this place was chaos so it was a whatever thing it's not like it caused him any actual harm. The kids were safely out of the mall with their parents through Macy's. He had seen Aurelie save a pretty obviously mutant child. She was still over near Bella which was good. Having friends near was good in these situations.

It didn't take Bella long to answer him about the spider lady. Saying they had it covered. He didn't miss the hint of anger in her voice. Seems she was still upset about earlier. There was nothing that could be done about that now it would have to wait till later. "Got it Siren." He replied to Bella so she knew he got her reply. Shortly after Bella's message Aurelie asked for asistance from any of the Alpha's in the place. And one of the other new girls Reggie quickly volenteered to get the kid out. Given her altered form it wasn't a bad idea that she be the one to take the child out. Gideon was going to suggest the loading area on the other side where his car sat as to where they could take the child. But seemed the girl could get the young one out to the vans simple enough. Besides there was help all through the place.

If one had thought all hell had already broken loose before, would be wrong so wrong. Nope all hell broke loose when a store exploded into flames adding another danger to the already chaotic mix. His eyes darted toward the store where he saw Bella helping the child then suddenly the child wasn't a child anymore. No now it was the psychotic shape shifter Mystique that was with Sinister when he had kidnapped Bella, Sionia, and Colton. A clear and audible growl escaped him causing those around him already stunned by the explosion to back away from him. He screwed up he should of noticed her scent. If only he had focused on scents he would of known the kid wasn't right. Then they started to appear from the wood work so to speak. Pyro the pyrokenetic emerged from obviously his handywork with the store. And Toad oh he remembered that one from the Sinister incedent as well.

He heard Leo threaten Toad after the frog like mutant mentioned wanting to keep one of the academy girls. That made Gideon smirk to bad Leo didn't have a history with them to back it up like Gideon did. He was now on the look out with all his senses for more of them. There were always more when it came to the bad guys the X men faced. And Gideon wasn't going to let another get the drop on them. Screwing up by not noticing Mystiques scent was bad enough. Thanks to his training caught something finding the three's scents easy enough. But no there was one other a familiar one, It was faint and hard to get a lock on to follow thanks to the fire and other things. It was none the less unmistakable. Hiding in the crowd raising his comm up he hit Wolverine's frequency. "Trouble inside. Mystique and others are here. She has Siren......And Sabertooth is around somewhere." He whispered into his comm. Even with all the noise Logan's hearing was like his he was sure to hear the message. He would have to keep his senses out for Sabertooth maybe catch the larger feral mutant in time before the possible ambush.

But at the same time he was also distracted. The one he loves beyond anything is being held with a gun to her head. That didn't sit well with him. It was hard choice find Sabertooth or stay here. He knew finding Sabertooth would prevent more then a few deaths. Which was why it was even remotely a choice. But losing Bella just wasn't an option. Now he had to think he couldn't just blindly go in on this one the stakes were to high. He could piss off one or more of them. When angered one doesn't think straight which brings in mistakes. Toad would be easiest all he would need to do was probably mention big tubby Blob who Gideon took care of back when Sinister and crew took Bella and her family.

Alpha - Garage | Mall - Break it up!

The ball of lightning in her hand flickered slightly, looking as if it might dissolve when she heard her name called out over the crowd, Varis sprinting towards her, waving an ice covered hand. Her eyes widened slightly at the fact that he'd called out her real name, closing her hand into a fist as he jumped in front of her such that the ball of electricity was reabsorbed, dissipating after flowing across her skin. His accent appeared to add to the intimidation, the group of boys looking back and forth to each other before looking back to the boy in front of them. They were then shoved around a bit as Tsukino, enclosed in a barrier, pushed her way through them. The girl then formed a orange, triangular barrier in front of them, calling out that she would protect the two of them - and using their real names in the process. One of boys raised their hands into the air, backing off, while the others followed suit. However, before they ran off, one of them looked past the ice-covered Irishman, giving her a slightly menacing wink.

"See ya, Raine," he spoke simply before the group took off running, shoving a woman running away with her child. The Alpha firefly thought of throwing an arc of lightning after them, but stopped, instead turning her head as she heard Tara call out to them that they should remain outside and keep the situation under control. Waving one arm into the air to signify that she understood, her hazel eyes rounded over to the two newbies now in her charge, face setting into a semi-uncharacteristic scowl.

"Listen to me, this is very important. Anytime we are in the field, it's Glitter. And you're Winter Wolf and you're Moonlight. These people hate us enough without knowing who we really are." She was careful to keep her voice steady, not wanting to sound like she was yelling at them, but at the same time wanting to make sure that she got her point across. It was something that should have been explained to them when they were part of the smaller teams - they couldn't afford mistakes at a time like this.

Of course, little did they know, things were just going to get worse inside. The sounds of what she could only think was an explosion from inside rattled the area, Raine's expression changing to one of concern as she grabbed her comm device, whipping it up to her lips.

"Guys, was that an explosion? Is everyone alright?" Her eyes were wide, quickly scanning the area as some people that had previously been causing havoc started running when the explosion occurred from inside. Another fight started out just a bit to the side of them as two women accidentally ran into each other while trying to escape. The brunette quickly made her way over to them, grabbing one of the woman by the back of the shirt and physically hauling her away from the other one.

"Winter Wolf, make sure that the other one gets-" just then, the woman's elbow caught Raine in the side of the face, knocking the brunette to the side as her hands released the woman and cupped over her cheek and eye.

"Son of a b***h," she exclaimed, the woman lunging towards the other woman once more. Electricity glided fluidly across her exposed skin, glittering softly as she blinked back involuntary tears. Out of a blurry corner of her eyes she saw the two go at it once more, the brunette not wanting to touch them for fear of causing more damage than they were supposed to. The last thing she wanted was to get in trouble.

"Someone get those crazy chicks out of here," she called to her two associates, still waiting for a call back from someone inside to let her know if they were ok, or if the three of them were needed. They were instructed, by Siren herself to re-group by the fountain if they were able, Raine simply calling out a "roger that" and hoping that their leader would pick it up.

"Hurry up so we can re-group with the others," she called to the other two, hoping they were dealing with the two quarreling women better than she was able to. Her cheek was already sporting a soft bruise - it hurt to the touch. But it sounded like they were needed indoors far more than lingering in the parking lot to take care of people's inability to get along in the midst of chaos.

Bianca shook her head no a little sadly in response to Dimitri questioning the rather large mutant and thinking only humans were involved. "No unfortunately mutants seem to be taking advantage of the chaos just as much as humans. Which I fear is not going to help the public opinion of us all that much. In the end I suppose it was futile to hope we might one day be accepted." Watching Bella for a few more seconds she found herself staring at Dimitri with somewhat of a mad look as he mentioned the kids being annoying not catching the joking tone it was delivered in before she opened her mouth. "That's horrible. How could you say that about them?" Then she realized he was joking and turned a light shade of pink. "Oh you were just making a joke sorry." Looking back to the children a little sadly she wasn't entirely sure she was ready to let them leave her sight just yet.

There was something about this entire situation that was just making her more and more worried. Not to mention very very nervous. She just couldn't shake the bad feeling that something horrible was going to happen any second. Whether that was because they were currently in a riot or because of how the riot had started over mutants or not she was unsure. Sparing a look to Dimitri as he mentioned the football player thing being a joke and that it was just a big guy he took care of Bianca gave him a small nod of understanding. "I see. Good for us then I guess right?" Then she was pleased as Dimitri replied he would take care of the charging guy and rushed towards him. Seeing exactly how Dimitri was planning on dispatching the guy Bianca reached on instinct and had the children turn their heads away so they didn't see such violence. Still Dimitri's approach took out the guy without any real trouble at all so she couldn't really fault his approach. Granted she would have attempted a less physical one if possible.

To each their own right? Watching as Dimitri walked back their way he voiced his thoughts of taking the kids to station in the mall. As he mentioned taking the kids to the rent-a-cops and meeting up with Bella his plan sounded good except for the nagging thoughts she had about the children. Still as he mentioned her having a better idea she shook her head no lowering her voice again. "I don't have a better idea really but at the same time I am not sure that is a good idea either. You see if their caretaker abandoned them then that can mean only a few things. I am willing to bet perhaps one of these guys manifested a mutant ability and given the recent anti-mutant public opinion she panicked and left them here. If that is true then handing them over to the rent-a-cops would be just as bad as handing them over to this crazy mob. Then again it is just a feeling I have and with no proof of it being true I am not exactly sure we can take them with us. Though that would be ideal."

Bella sent everyone a message to be ready for more trouble, sighing Bianca turned back to the kids kneeling before them and giving them a kind smile. "I have a question for you three. Did something strange happen before this Miss Patty brought you here?" Waiting for an answer the girl opened her mouth to answer before suddenly an explosion went of from the Abercrombie and Finch store. Yanking each of the kids down to the floor she tugged on Dimitri's pants to get him to do the same given she didn't know what his ability was. After the explosion went off Bianca found her ears ringing slightly as the children began to panic. Trying to calm them she stood up quickly to scan the crowd for the others. "What happened?" Then suddenly a dragon made of flames began to snake it's way through the mall to cause more havoc. "A mutant?" Hearing a voice she recognized belonged to Raine as she had met her briefly before Bianca decided to answer her over comm. "That was an explosion caused by a mutant I think. Still I don't think anybody was killed and the others seem to be fine from my vantage point." Of course she was using the definition of fine very loosely. She doubted anybody was really fine right now.

Then she caught sight of a blue skinned woman holding Bella at gunpoint and she felt her breath catch in her throat. Not to mention a man that was obviously a mutant fire bender of some kind step out of the Abercrombie and Finch store. Then a mutant that looked like an overgrown frog appeared on the other side of the Alphas keeping them from escaping. "This doesn't look good." As the blue skinned woman called out for the X-men to show themselves Bianca having her motherly instinct kick in drop to the ground and gathered the three orphans around her in a half circle so she could protect them better. Looking to Dimitri the worry was clear in her eyes. "What are we supposed to do? I am very open to suggestions right now. However we still have these kids to think off. With those crazy mutants I doubt it will be easy to get them to safety." Why did her gut feeling have to be right?

Alpha - Inside the Mall - Unexpected Party Guests

User Image

Out of the corner of her eye, Tara saw Lexi compensating for the lack of wind indoors by using her own breath - that was something she certainly hadn't been expecting. But all things considered, it made sense for the moment - if she'd thought things through more clearly outside, she might have yelled for Raine to come inside with her and left Lexi with the others to make sure that she was comfortable with her powers. It was something she could apologize later for. Right now, they had bigger problems on their hands. Flintlock looked like she was ready to run the gauntlet to get the little girl out of harm's way, Tara impressed with the level of concern she showed the girl despite all else that was going on. As she felt Siren's eyes turn to her, however, all her attention swept onto her leader, following the woman's motions to the humans trapped to the walls in some sort of sticky netting. What the heck had she missed in her dawdling outside? She looked at the woman ranting and raving, having some inkling that the sticky nets holding these people were her doing - that was not a mutation she would want to have, that's for sure.

"On it," she said simply, looking around for anything she could use in conjunction with her ability to free those people. It was hard not to get distracted from this goal when one of the storefronts burst into flame, and Siren's impressive use of her abilities to keep glass and other debris from raining down on her and causing some severe damage. Of, course, the sight of a flaming dragon rising from the lingering flames and smoke from the fire suppression system had to tear her attention away from the task at hand. That was just not something she saw on a daily basis…not something she'd ever seen as a matter of fact.

The sound of Siren asking someone to let her go caught her attention, the brunette earth-mover's eyes widening as a boy holding Bella's hand morphed into a blue-skinned woman with red hair. Out of the burning storefront came a blonde-haired mutant with some sort of tank system on his back, sending flames towards families huddled under tables for some sense of noon-existent protection. If she had been outdoors, she could have used soil from the ground to suffocate the fires, but as it were, she'd have to rip through at least one layer of concrete, maybe more depending on how many unseen lower levels to the building there were. Of course, none of this mattered when her attention was torn away a third time by a green-skinned mutant, cat-calling at the group as Tara dropped back a step or two from him. Her features set into a scowl as he particularly seemed interested in Aurelie and Alex, rolling her eyes a bit. She'd never understand why men went after the blondes first. It was so cliche.

Leonardo stepped in front of them, ever the protector, clearly trying to work out a plan that would keep all of them from getting toasted, slobbered on, or shot. Reggie was just as adamant in vocalizing that the slime-ball wasn't going to get anyone from the group She felt a tap on her arm, looking to her fellow teammate as he motioned towards Toad, mouthing for her to keep an eye on him.

"Oh, I'll do more than that," she muttered, brushing past him to take her target so the rest of them could do what they needed to do. She heard Leo calling for Mystique to state her purpose there, Tara already having a hunch that they were a distraction to keep the X-Men from raining on their plans elsewhere, but until the blue woman spoke, she'd not say anything. Her brown eyes never left Toad, head tilting to the side ever so slightly as a few tendrils of hair fell into her face. A grin tugged at the corners of her lips as she felt the ground beneath the buy's feet, cracks in the concrete slowly starting to spread, forming a ring around him. With everything else going on, she hoped he was too dense to notice. When the s**t it the fan, Tara wanted to make sure she could act as quickly as possible. As a bit of an isnurance policy, the brunette hissed towards him, trying to make sure she at least got his attention on her.

"Psst. Hey...I was wondering. What's with the blondes? I mean...they don't really have more fun, you know." Her voice was soft, not wanting to distract the others dealing with other members of the Brotherhood. But she had a feeling she could figure Toad out pretty quickly - they guy had green-toned skin and ate bugs. Surely he wasn't that complicated of a character...

Varis listened to Raine and nodded as she finished talking to them. "My apologies Glitter I am not used to this." Just as he finished he saw Raine get dropped and ran to grab the two women fighting and sent a slight chill through both of them. "I suggest you two leave as soon as you can and do so without harming people trying to help you." He spoke in even tones and more forcefully than he would have in most situations he had been in he pushed them towards the door. They walked bickering and shoving one another the occasional fist being thrown he didn't care so long as they kept walking.

He turned to Raine. "Need a hand?" He smiled extending an ice coated hand to her. "Either to get up or to put on your eye." He smiled and awaited her response and kept an eye out around them to make sure nothing else would happen to his friends in the area as he tried spotting Tsyukino finding her with her barrier with relative ease.

Lexi stood close to the group of Alphas, just waiting with baited breath over what to do. It seemed the window for extraction was closing just a tiny bit more with each passing second. Still, she stood there, an orb of air just spinning slowly in the palm of her hand, unsure of what next she should or could do. That was when Isabella gave the order to try and begin releasing some of the humans that were stuck upon the various walls. Seemed simple enough, right?

The very moment she was getting poised to follow orders was when it hit the fan. It seemed the spider-mutant was spouting off even more invective that before and suddenly, there was an explosion that rocked the vicinity. “Crap!,” Lexi exclaimed as she ducked, feeling an immense heat coming from behind her. By the time she had stood back to her feet, she’d lost a bit of her makeshift ‘weapon’ and was completely taken aback by what she saw. There was a giant, fire dragon that was flying well overhead, setting things ablaze intermittently. Gunshots rang out, and she looked around fervently, noting that there was a blue-skinned woman basically holding the Alpha’s leader hostage. Not only that, a vicious smell hit her nostrils and Lexi could only wrinkle her nose in disgust; it seemed the shorter of the villainous trio was setting his sights on Aurelie and Alex.

Leo was the first to step up, threatening Toad with a grand ripping out of his throat, followed by Reggie putting herself in between the rather noxious amphibious mutant and the Alpha girls. To say what Lexi heard from Toad’s mouth pissed her off would have been an understatement; not only was he ugly and smelly but lecherous? It made her grin slightly when Leo tapped her on the arm, mouthing the order for her and Tara to keep an eye on the guy.

“With pleasure,” Lexi muttered as she took a few paces forwards, putting herself alongside both Reggie and Tara in between the others and Toad. From her position, she could hear Alex asking Reggie to watch the smaller blonde’s back. If it wasn’t Reg, it’d be Lexi. If it wasn’t Lexi, it’d be someone else … and so on and so forth. She at least hoped that was how this team worked, if not they’d be up the creek. There were more Alpha’s buzzing and mulling around the scene of general chaos, but Lexi was too focused on her task at hand to really take note of who they were.

“She’s right,” Lexi said, letting the smallish orb of air dissipate then slowly wrap itself around her body. Without a second thought, she willed it to come back to her hand, though this time a bit more compact. How she longed for just a decent gust of wind or maybe someone or something to just… open a few doors. “Though something tells me you’d need a decade of reform school, a good bath, and a stroke of luck to get a date with a dead dog,” she said to Toad, plainly stating the obvious. While she stood there, waiting for the lout to make the first move, she began tossing the ball of wind between her hands, in an effort to at least try and intimidate.
Little did anyone realize, Lexi was nervous as all getout. Her first real mission was here, trying to quell a riot and now this. She was trying not to let it be visible, but with her tossing the orb of wind around would only be construed by anyone as an act of nervousness. With a harsh glare at Toad, she mentally swore at her mother for making her leave home for this.
