(( Turning, Turning sayurinitta )) And off they trip, to their doom. Because they care, because they are friends, companions. It gets you killed. Her mother's voice returned, or whoever was using her mother's voice. She'd not actually seen the elegantly cold Demoness since the illusions had started, but the tone of voice was exactly like hers. Arachne shook her head; she wouldn't listen, and she couldn't break down.
All she could do was watch, watch as Elizabeth and Petro were swallowed by the fog again, heading in to find the one that had screamed, to find Mac and she hoped fervently, Sepheran. She didn't know what it was that made her so concerned for his wellbeing, she just wanted to see him safe again.
Do you expect that even if you had seen this you could have prevented it? I told you daughter, the wheel of fate spins and all we can do is let it carry us along.
'No..' she shook her head, going to reach for the bag that she'd gotten from the supply tent, wanting to get the flashlight out and wave it as a signal for her friends. It was then, and only then that she realised she didn't have it. Had she dropped it when she was in a state? She looked around where she stood, trying to see through the drifting fog, and moved slowly, not wanting to be lost again, shuffling feet across the ground to feel for the bag,
After a while her foot banged against something solid and she looked down - the torch! She picked it up and hurriedly turned it on, her shaking hands making the dim light dance around. As it did so she saw scattered papers, much more than her bag had held.
'What?' she stooped to pick one up, and let it flutter to the ground again, picking up another. The first seemed to fade as fell and her grip got tighter on the torch as she shone it around, her panic rising again. 'Hello? Who's there?'
She let out a yelp as the light danced on a pair of glowing eyes, which were gone again. The voice returned however. ..you shouldn't care for them. They aren't your friends. Look at them. Look at them closely. You'll see.
'JACK OFF!' Arachne yelled at the top of her voice, frustrated, angry and above all frightened.

(( Enoh )) The Reaper had been trying to pick up the pieces of papers around him, managing to grab a few; it was hard though, when you were also holding up some dead weight. It was probably why he opted to drop the pink haired demon reject into a lump on the floor to make the whole picking up the pieces thing a lot easier to do.
When he was done, he grabbed the boil, helping him to stand once more. He was still a dead weight, apparently.
"It's me!" Mac called back towards the voice of Lizzy, fixing the slumped Charlie on his shoulders (did the Demon fall asleep? That b*****d) as he turned to face her. Something looked...odd. Very odd. Her eyes didn't seem the right colour; they should have been pink, right? He was sure her eyes were pink...not that he cared to check, really. Honest.
Instantly, his eyes narrowed at her, clearly distrusting her.
"Yeah...I have Charlie." He said in a slow, suspicious voice. Did he, though? Saide and his Father looked so real...but he didn't touch either of them. In retrospect he should have, that way he would know if the Charlie he was holding up really was Charlie, and not some trick.
"How do I know you're really Lizzy?" He demanded flatly, taking a half step back.

(( MY OCD HATES YOU ALL. Alania )) Riley felt a temporary, but welcome safety in the arms of Malodore and the wings of Jericho. She couldn't help but wish they could just stay this way forever. As she felt the crisp air touch her back once more when Jericho moved away, she cringed and buried her head into Malodore's shoulder. She was done with this place. So, so very done.
Her head tilted up just slightly as she realized - why was she feeling the breeze on her back? Her bag should have been.. She turned her head, and the strap on her shoulder was gone. Riley sat up straight, keeping her hands tangled with Malodore's even as she looked around. Then she noticed Jericho's search for his own bag.. and Malodore was missing its as well.
Oh good. Another trick. I'm so excited. Her intensely monotone voice dripped with sarcasm, but at least there was some small relief in hearing her get back to her old self. She disentangled herself from Malodore, but hesitated to move away. Still, she had to find her bag.. she was sure those map pieces and her flashlight would come in handy again later.
There.. she saw it! Reaching out to snag the strap that she saw peeking out from underneath a rock, Riley grabbed her bag and brought it back to her. Unfortunately it was empty.. so she moved over to the area where she'd found it, and started picking up the pieces that were strewn around the floor. Flashlight, check. Map pieces, check. Check. Check. Check. Wait a minute. Why were there so many?
They were all different.. and she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. She collected them all and stuffed them into her backpack quickly.

Shaking his head furiously, Jericho closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened them up again, he relaxed as the images of Riley and Malodore returned to normal. Seeing their skeletal forms holding onto one another like that was just... incredibly creepy.
With that taken care of, he walked back over towards them now that his bag was back in his hands. From the looks of things, Riley had spilled all her belongings as well.
"I'm not sure what sort of illusion would spill our items out like that..." he blinked.

Riley slung her bag over her shoulder, and reached down to help Malodore up before walking over to Jericho. Her expression was pinched with annoyance as she stood in front of him. I don't think that's an illusion. I think it's just a trick. You said it yourself earlier, this whole place is a trap. I think someone's enjoying watching us suffer.
Her eyes travelled the expanse of the fog around them, before returning to Jericho. Her hand rested on his shoulder. Well, at least we're all together now. And sane. For now. Let's head out while we still can.

Nodding to Riley, Jericho soon furrowed his brow as he heard her last words as something completely different.
I'm tired of everyone going off on their own. But I know just the thing that'll help us all stick together.
"What's that?" he asked, not really sure what she was going at here. Though, he had to agree. Having everyone run off on their own was risky and it was also slowing the group down as a whole.

Riley's head turned slightly to one side and one eyebrow rose, as she stared at Jericho warily. She blinked, trying to assess what he was asking.
What's... what? She murmured hesitantly. The trap? How would I know?
----
Jericho would see Riley's eyelids drop slightly, eyeing him from under them carefully. Her hands both lifted to press against his cheeks, pulling him closer to her face. Well, it's simple. What do you think could possibly make us closer than we already are? Think, precious. Think. She purred her words out, her tone clearly seductive. Her hand reached up and slid through his hair, before holding his head against hers. The other snaked around his body, pulling him close against her.

Jericho's expression was still one of puzzlement as she pulled him closer to her. Her tone had shifted, and he wasn't too sure what to make of it. It kind of sent a tingle down his spine.
"I'm still not quite sure what you're getting at here," he said softly, feeling a bit allured right now. She was his best friend and he never quite felt anything like this before, but the Illithid was rather attractive.. The dragon placed his hands on her hips and stared at her, waiting to see if she'd give him any other leads as to what was on her mind.

Riley's expression became mystified. What I'M getting at? You're the one who's confusing me! Are you sure you're not-
And then his hands were at his hips, and her eyes widened slightly. She turned her head to look at Malodore, slightly horrified.
He's having an illusion. She murmured in a cracked voice, and moved to pull away from him. His arms suddenly tightened, locking her in place. Now, Jericho.. you know this isn't real. Come on now. Her hand rested firmly on his shoulders as she tried to firmly shake him. Snap out of it. Can you hear me? Her voice rose in desperation. You come back to us right now, Jericho. Please.
A desperate move. It was needed. She couldn't think of anything else to do, and she knew this was a bad idea. She'd considered it earlier, but the possible side effects..
She couldn't think of the risks now.
She closed her eyes, and tried to enter his mind.
-------
Riley's expression looked pouty. She let out a whimper, and tucked her head into his neck, brushing her face gently against his skin. How can you not understand what I mean? What I want? What I need? Come on Jericho, you know me. You know what I really want. All you have to do is say yes.

Jericho felt as if he had been mystified, but not quite in a bad way. Shuddering lightly he embraced her a little tighter and wrapped his wings around her as well.
He was still kind of confused, but there was something keeping him from trying to think on it too much.
"Alright Riley..." he said with a soft grin, "Though.. what about Malodore?"

((-Agrees with Nio- Rosie)) Mandy was just finishing tucking in the end of one of Alwines bandages when she felt a sudden lightening of load upon her shoulders. Sighing her head drooped in clear exasperation. Sitting back she gave Alwine a reassuring smile before standing up. "Ill be back in one second, just gotta find where my bags decided to disappear off too." With that and a firm look that said stay put she took off in search, making sure to not stray too far from the ghost. Thankfully it hadn't strayed far, though the contents where spilled out.... That was a lot more map pieces than there had been previously. Frowning she hunted around for pieces she recognized before shrugging and stuffing in some unfamiliar ones as well, they might come in handy. Bag now firmly back on her shoulders she headed back to where she'd left Alwine.

Riley's brow furrowed as she tried to see something. Anything. His mind was like a blank space. How could there be nothing? Was she just.. just that weak?
She felt warm. Too warm. She opened her eyes and squinted in the darkness. Why had it suddenly- oh no. Her head turned, and she looked at the cocoon his wings had her captured in.
Jericho.. She whimpered. Maybe if she slapped him? She considered it. What had woken her up? Throwing up.. she cringed at the thought.
Malodore? She reached out from within the cocoon of Jericho's wings. Maybe if you make him throw up like you did me? She didn't sound hopeful. She did, however, sound a little desperate.
---
A soft release of breath left her when Jericho agreed. Her tentacles came to life behind her, slowly lifting up and around to wrap around Jericho's body. Several of them caressed his head, resting just before entering his ear.
She lifted her head back up to look at him face to face, and smiled.
"Don't worry." She breathed the words against his lips as she leaned in close. "It will be mine as well. But I wanted you to be my first." Before he could reply, her lips closed the distance, and pressed against his.
Except.
Since when did Riley have lips?
Her tentacles surged forward, sliding into his ears as they entered his brain. Slowly they began to take control, in an attempt to give Riley exactly what he should have known she really wanted all along.
To make Jericho her first thrall.

Jericho paid no attention to the tentacles that started to come to life. He was entranced. The dragon didn't quite realize that he was actually hearing her voice and that those were lips that were pressed up against his own. Though he was surprised, he soon gave in and leaned forward to continue it.
Wait a minute.
Riley had no lips.
Eyes widening as he realized this, he soon gave out a cry of pain as he felt her tentacles start to prod around his brain through his ears. He let go of her and started to claw at them to try and get them out.
"AAUUUGGH!" he roared, "Nooo! RILEY!! What are you-- AAAAHHH!"

"I can try, but my book was in my ba-"
That was all Malodore managed to say before something hit it from above, pressing it downwards. The plague doctor yelped and kicked wildly at whatever-it-was (possibly landing an accidental - and not very strong - kick on Riley and Jericho along the way), only to stop as it realized what was going on.
Paper. A giant mound of paper. Map pieces, to be precise. The scraps blew all around, swishing outwards to glide past the other students before coming back to the motherpile, which twitched and shifted like a live thing.
All the plague doctor could think about was the knowledge, the precious knowledge contained in those beautiful pages! It ran after the scattered, shifting papers, trying to catch as many as it could. It pressed them into its sleeves, shoved it under its coat until it felt as though it was bulging, as if it had pressed the paper down its throat almost to bursting. The lines of the maps skittered through its mind, criss-crossing, compass roses twirling merrily on unknown axes.
It didn't hear a word Riley said - it was busy. Very busy. Though... what was happening in its brain was detectable to her, oh yes. What Malodore thought was a sleet of knowledge hailing through its mind would sound more like a high-pitched, off-key wail to the ithilid... with a side order of paper cuts.

Riley had just started reaching up to see if she could push Jericho's wings away from the top, when he leaned his head in and pressed his lips against her face. Her reaction was akin to something like-
?!?!!
Well, this was as good a time as any to see if a slap would wake him up - because that was exactly what instinct told her to do. Her hand whacked mercilously against his cheek, pushing him away.
THAT IS ENOUGH JERICHO. She screeched into his mind. YOU WAKE UP THIS INSTANT, BEFORE I KNOCK YOU THE HELL OUT.
He released her, and fell back, screaming and crying out her name. This wasn't exactly the response she had been hoping for. She cringed at the idea that her slap had caused him this much pain. Was that even possible? She backed away as he clawed at his ears, her eyes slit dangerously.
Malodore, I think now would be a good time to try- Her eyes rolled back behind her head and she groaned as she touched upon Malodore's mind, and instead of finding the calming presence she expected, she was rewarded with a painful wail. She held her head in her hands as she tried to disconnect herself, and slit her eyes open to look at Malodore.
Oh, no.. She whispered. Not you too..
Clearly, the only option left was to knock them both unconscious. Riley didn't have many problem solvers - violence was her go to.
Malodore. She carefully sent out, trying to keep it's own thoughts from seeping into her head. If you can hear me, please stop. Her voice was tired- she wasn't hopeful that it would react, but she had to try once..
