Caius Wolve

"...." Caius stood there stoically as his mother felt the need to inspect his helmet. After a moment, he reached up, grabbing her by the wrist. "...Rydia. I deflected the bullet, it couldn't pierce my armor, and even if did go into my skull, it would not kill me. It would barely give me pause." He released her, his left hand returning to his side. "So yes, I am fine." It would take a lot more than that to do much to him.
Caius didn't say much or do much until she asked him to sit with her. "..." He walked towards her, but made no motions of sitting. Instead, he leaned his blade off his shoulder, stabbing it into the floor, placing both of his hands atop the handle of the blade as he stood there, practically motionless. "I will not sit. But if you wish to speak, we may speak." So formal with his own mother. But that seemed to be how Caius was these days. He was very distant and detached from his family as a whole. "Though you will not find me to be a good conversationalist." She was probably used to that though, considering Jin. "Ask what you would like. I make no promises that I'll answer." He continued to stand stoically, almost looking like a statue with how still he was. It was very difficult to read him, especially when fully encased in armor. At her first question, Caius answered simply. "No." ...Well, clearly the playfulness wouldn't go very far with him. "I am currently in my Devil Trigger form. I've been in this form for years. Most of this armor cannot be removed." It had been years since he had seen his actual face. He honestly had no idea what he even looked like anymore. As far as he was concerned, this helmet was his face. "The day I was born holds little relevance as I grow older. April 1st." Was that the most ironic thing in the world? ...Maybe.
"...No." He answered her next question. "I have no interest in things such as that. I am a demon. Such things are not meant for me." That wasn't to say demons didn't get involved in ways like that, obviously, but still. He didn't think it was something he should do himself. Though to say he had no interests would be a lie, but still... "Besides, I exist only in my Devil Trigger form. I have no way to deactivate it. I could not pursue such an interest the way that I am." All his answers were so severe, weren't they? "Is that all you wished to ask me?"

Rydia blinked as he grabbed her by the wrist, of course he didn't like anyone touching him! Even his own caring mother, apparently. "Is it wrong of me to worry for my son? I will always worry, no matter how strong you are. " But it was certainly a relief to know he was that tough, she didn't have to worry, but there was really no stopping that from being possible.
As he made his decision to not sit down, she nodded, deciding herself to keep standing as well. The fact that he was willing to speak with her in any way made her happy enough. "I don't mind, as long as we can speak, even if it's only a short time, it makes me happy that I have such a moment with you." She did want to respect his feelings, and his privacy, so she would be careful not to become irritating and ruin it all. But that didn't mean she wouldn't be somewhat playful with him ether.

"Oh? Then I am relieved! I can hug you when ever I want. " But she wouldn't go crazy about it ether! Her goal was to become closer, not farther away. As he answered her question of the day of his birth, she couldn't help but smile. He didn't refuse to answer, that was always nice. Even better that she asked now, it wasn't all that far away, and she wouldn't miss it for the world! Even if he didn't want to celebrate it. It was a special day no matter what. Rydia wasn't completely up with the holidays of this world, ether, the day of April Fools didn't have any meaning to her at all, it was unheard of in her world. "Is there anything you would like? " It probably wasn't hard for him to get things on his own, but still, maybe if she was lucky, there was at least something he couldn't get, that maybe she could surprise him with. "Anything, I would love to know what it is that you like, if there is anything you for some reason can't get, tell me what it is, please? "
Then came her next question, the answer she received was unfortunately expected. He wasn't social, so it wasn't hard to figure out herself. "I had a feeling you would say that. And I don't agree at all, Caius. This Devil Trigger form of yours can't last forever, there must be a way to deactivate it. We can figure it out together, if you will let us help you. There is always a way...I certainly would not give up on helping you figure it out. " She shook her head softly. "And when someone does come along, and they see you for who you really are, through the armor and still want to befriend you, don't push them away. That is the way of love, and I believe you will find a special person just like that one day. " Soon, she hoped. He deserved so much more happiness then anyone. How much of his life was spent in the dark like this? It hurt to even think about it. "I don't want to hear you give up, I won't allow you to. "

There was a brief pause after his last question. "..Actually, there is one thing...Do you always refer to your parents by their names? I really like the sound of 'mother' much better! Your father may like the sound of 'father' too!" There was that light teasing again, even more amusing that Jin probably really wasn't bothered by it at all!

Caius Wolve

User Image

"It is not wrong. It is simply unnecessary." Caius responded stoically, continuing to stare forward with an unchanging posture. "...." As she made her comment about hugging him, she would receive no reaction, it seemed. Tough crowd. "...No." He responded simply as she asked if he wanted anything. "I am content enough as I am." He glanced to the side, finally showing some movement that made it clear he wasn't just a statue! "Once upon a time, I wished to be a summoner." He said softly. "It may be difficult to believe, but I was always closer to my mother than my father. Trinity was always closer to father in our time. I wanted to try to learn summoning to surprise her, but I was never good at it. I am the opposite of a prodigy--I am quite inept with most magic. I could only ever really summon Carbuncle. I do not bring this up because I want to learn summoning now, mind you. That dream is far behind me. Though as a child I may have asked for such a thing." His head turned back to face her once again, returning to his still position. "But I was stubborn. I wanted to learn it on my own." He paused for a few moments. "...That's the end of storytime, I suppose." A strange thing to just bring up in hindsight, but her question reminded him of that. It was intended to be her birthday gift, which might not have been amazing, but he thought it would be a nice surprise. Too bad he sucked at it.
"I have no desire to deactivate it," Caius responded simply. "I remain forever in this form because I can see the dividing lines between human and demon. I realize that, and I accept it. Humans and demons can never exist together. Not truly. Ever since I learned that, I made my decision and became a demon. That is what I am. That is what I will always be." It was the moment his Devil Trigger awakened, too. It was spurred by... a very unpleasant circumstance. It was due to that he had inadvertently put up a mental block that kept him in this form indefinitely. The idea that these two could not exist together, and yet he was a combination of both. And so, he mentally chose one and became it. "I have no interest in such things." He said flatly. "Not everyone can be "saved." I am the way I am because I chose it. I will exist like this for the remainder of my life span, for however long that may be. I have no desire to be saved. I have no desire to change. I have no desire to see things differently. I can never forgive humanity, for I have seen its true face." He took a deep breath, closing his eyes momentarily from beneath his helmet. "My apologies. I have said too much." It just kinda came out. He didn't mean to sound hateful and make it seem like every human was the same, it was just... difficult to see that that was not the case at times.
At her last question, his hands fell from atop the sword's handle, gripping the blade once again and pulling it from the ground, leaning it against his shoulder. "You are not my mother. Jin is not my father. They are still in the time period I left." He began to walk past her now, walking towards the stairs that led down and to the pathway back inside the large tower. "One day you will have a son who will grow up to be me. But do not expect me to treat you as though you are family." Technically they were but technically they weren't. It was odd. Time travel was like that, wasn't it. As far as Caius was concerned though, they were strangers here, it seemed. Or mere allies at most.

"Then I will be doing a lot of unnecessary worrying, won't I? " Because obviously that wasn't going to stop. Rydia was not doing well at this, despite having such great experience already when having conversation with Jin, it wasn't easy getting a lot out of him ether! But she learned to handle it as best that she could, if she really needed someone to talk to, she always did have Trinity, though..she tended to talk TO much. Then there was Midori, she talked enough, but didn't seem to interested in doing so as she always wanted to go play and do her own thing, which often was making a whole lot of trouble!
"I see..." Well, there was certainly a little disappointment in her voice. She truly seemed to want to do something special. As he began to tell her his rather shocking story of his past dream as a child, Rydia smiled softly. It was a nice thing to hear, especially coming from him. It all sounded so nice, which meant ..it probably would't last! "Is that how you truly feel? Is there no small part of you that would like to learn to summon? Dreams don't often fully vanish and it is always possible to continue it. "

Rydia sighed softly, she had no intention of hiding it ether. "You still believe that? How can you continue to believe such a thing, when the proof of that existence is right in front of you? It is very possible, the Serenitians have found that to be something they too cherish." And they were facing a lot of trouble with their own because of it, but still, they stood strong and never gave up that love. "I wish you would open your eyes, there is so much you are keeping yourself from when you keep your heart and mind so closed..I want to see you living a full, happy life...These feelings you have for humans, not all of them are as bad as those you seem to hate so much. There will never be true peace, there is almost always going to be just as much as in the world as there is good, humans can be both of these things, of course that is true. But can you really feel it's the right thing to judge all of them as badly as those who hurt you?" It wasn't hard to tell, somehow he was hurt by them, but she knew asking those details right now would not be a good idea.

Rydia would fall silent as his next words followed, those last sentences were not quite what she hoped to hear by the end of their 'moment'. Her idea and hope to become closer, to get to know him a little, really did not go as she wanted at all! Eventually as he left through the entrance, Rydia let out another sigh. Bad day this was turning into! With wave of her hand and a few words, the area atop of the tower became suddenly covered in thick, heavy mist as Rydia's own Mist Dragon appeared within in, it's massive head raised slightly over the tower, as if it were peeking at Rydia in a game of peek a boo! It was just to adorable. At least, she thought so! Reaching out her hand to place against the Mist Dragon's side of it's face, she kind of hugged. "I didn't handle that very well...did I? What do you think? How well of a mother will I really become in the future.." The dragon's head softly nuzzled at her, it's connection with Rydia was incredibly strong, it very well knew when she was down! "...We are family..Caius.." She said softly, before she would climb atop the dragon. "Suddenly I feel like getting some air.." Some place nice, she may of needed a peaceful, serene location after spending so much time in a very dark, gloomy demon tower.. Trinity could wait for that replacement of her strange bed choice. Not that she couldn't actually get those items herself much easier then Rydia could.

Jin Wolve

"Might controls everything! And without power, you cannot protect anything...
...Let alone yourself."

User Image

The yells and struggling of a damsel could be heard from within the tower, as Jin dragged a teenage girl into a large circular room, before shoving her in, stepping in after her, his Yamato drawn. "Silence." He said severely.
"YOU silence!" Felicia took a few steps backwards. "You have no right to drag me to this infernal place! What are you planning to do? Am I to be a sacrifice?"
"That's correct." Jin answered simply.
"That's-" She bumped into something. With armor. Grunting, she moved away, creating distance between herself and the new apparent threat as quickly as possible.
Caius stood there motionless, his blade leaned against his shoulder. "The heart of a maiden with demonic blood must be sacrificed to open the way. This is the first of many sacrifices needed to open the portal to the demon world."
"What? Demon world? Are you insane? All you'll do is allow demons to surge into this world! Mundus will be granted free access. If you're trying to stop him, you're doing a poor job."
"That's none of your concern." Jin said, beginning to walk towards her. "Nothing is any longer."
Well, this was a sticky situation. Felicia was no warrior, and even if she were, she would probably have very little chance against Jin. "Teresa is my mom!" She blurted out. "I am a princess of Serenity! If you kill me, you'll have my grandfather to answer to!"
"Hardly an issue." Jin appeared before her, gripping her by the throat. "Besides, no one knows you've come to this time, have they? You won't be missed."
"Th-that's not true..." Felicia gasped out, trying to loosen the grip around her throat. "And you don't want to get on her bad side...!"
"And who might that be?" Jin asked, shoving her to the ground in the center of the room.
"..." Felicia took a few gasps of air, looking up at the two of them. "My mother..."
"Your mother." Caius almost sounded amused. "Do you believe Teresa a threat to even a household pet, much less demons?"
Felicia cast her eyes up at the armored helmet of the one who spoke. "You don't pay attention very well, do you...?" Suddenly, there was a massive crash just outside the room, causing the tower to shake violently for a few moments.
"What in the world is happening?!"
"Teresa is my mom." Another crash, and suddenly, there was a loud banging on the door to the large circular room. "My mother, on the other hand..."
The massive door to the room was suddenly shot inward--quite incredibly considering its size and how it was so firmly in place--spinning through the air until Jin cut it in half, sending both halves crashing into the wall behind them. A large horde of demons flew in at around the same time, clearly cut down, dissipating into a pool of blood where they laid. And the hard steps of boots could be heard, as a partially blood-soaked Ein stepped into the room, gripping her gunblade, Hades. She did not look happy. "Foul beast from the underworld, I believe you have the child of a great hero of darkness in custody." She raised her free arm, pointing at Jin. "Release the child of destiny and you may let live to see what tomorrow brings." Man, first they pick a losing fight with Ephraim, now they were making an enemy out of Ein. Jin's family certainly didn't care who they got on the bad side of, did they?
"And why should I?" Jin twirled his blade a bit, before pointing it directly at Felicia's throat. "All I aim to do is kill her, and nothing is stopping-?!" He grunted as he and Caius were suddenly caught in a pulsating dark orb, which expanded upon getting close to them and froze them in place briefly. That was more than enough time for Felicia to sprint to safety behind Ein, though. Jin grunted as they were released, stretching his neck a bit and standing straight up. In spite of the situation, he let out an amused noise. "Now I'm a little motivated." It seemed clear this woman was far from a common warrior.
Ein lowered her arm, her eyes still staring directly at the two adversaries in front of her. "You have defiled this land with your wretched existence long enough. For the hope of the world, I will end your blighted plots once and for all--by taking your lives, here and now!" She raised her gunblade, striking her battle pose. "My infernal darkness against yours--let us see how long you can survive!"

If the bringer of death was on her side, it would be felt, in the most painful sensation through the heart of the maiden as she stood so safely behind her mother. The long blade would strike through Felicia, and proceed on to Ein, as they were so close together. Then, it was ripped out harshly! She gave no time for Ein to react before grabbing Felicia, and throwing her body back down to the center of the circle. Darkly tentacles came from the floor, slipping around her wrists and ankles, to ensure she remained there should some miracle chance happen that she did not die, or wasn't struck lethally as she planned. "No one invited you to this fine celebration! I wonder what would happen if we killed someone as powerful as this irritating worm?? " Ein, that was.
And then came the sudden temperature drop, as ice formed quickly under Ein's feet, moving up to swallow her body in freezing ice, that would keep her from making any move she might attempt against Jin,herself or her family. Yes, Rydia heard the disturbances and quickly changed her mind on leaving! Now, she stood in the fray, ready to attack at any moment should Ein get out of the thick ice block.

"This world is balanced on the edge of dream and reality...
But our lives... Mordi's happiness... this feeling is no dream.
...This is real."

User Image

It was certainly a good attempt--and one that may have worked perfectly since Ein and Felicia couldn't have known about the others here, but as Trinity plunged her blade towards the heart of her enemy, she might notice it just... stop. It skidded to a stop, as though it had stabbed straight into a shield that held strong against the blade. And yet there was no shield, only the irrationally tough skin of Mordi, as she stood there. "Mor." She grabbed the blade, and had the sword not been nearly unbreakable, she would snap it like a twig. Then she would reach forward, grabbing at Trinity's hair, and pulling her into a particularly harsh headbutt. And considering how tough Mordi's skin was, and how hard-headed she was (haha yes) that would hurt quite a lot, had it connected.
"M-Mordi?"
"Mordi is happy to see Felicia safe." She cast determined eyes over her shoulders, and somehow that determined expression still just looked adorable on Mordi. "We're... like family. Mordi won't let them hurt you." She WAS dating Felicia's sister, so...
Stomping her foot down, had Trinity still been there, a chunk of earth would shoot up from beneath the flooring, attaching itself to her and forcing her to fly to the other side of the room, behind her father and brother. And had she not managed to escape, it would attach itself to the wall, intending to keep her stuck there. Literally.

"..." Felicia blinked. Mordi had... changed. A lot. What happened in her time here? She still LOOKED like Mordi, and yet her mannerisms were so much different than the timid, depressed girl she had seen last. Mordi WAS still that girl at times, of course, but... She was so strong and determined... that look in her eyes--it looked so much like her father. Felicia couldn't help but feel a bit exhilarated at her how she was now!
Ein didn't seem to try to avoid the ice, but no sooner had it covered her than it began to melt, then shatter. Ein had command over fire magic, but she herself didn't suffer any weakness linked to fire, so ice wouldn't do very much against her, it seemed. "A beautiful creature such as that ill befits one of such rotten company," Ein said to Rydia, referring to her Mist Dragon. Clearly Rydia was not on the "good" side in this scenario, so she had a point. "Though if you wish to call upon the aid of summons, I will match and surpass your choice." She raised her gunblade. "In accordance with the contract, rise! From the depths of the abyss!" A portal opened from beneath her as she raised her gunblade, and from the portal came the king of all summons--Bahamut, spreading its wings wide as it let out a bestial roar befitting that of a dragon. "You have your summon, and so I have mine." It was a bit imbalanced, perhaps--it was hard to beat Bahamut G. The dragon floated there, its wings flapping with tremendous energy to keep itself aloft. Its very presence was foreboding and intimidating to most, though most of these demons probably didn't scare very easily. Ein struck her pose once more as the Earth Goddess Mordi came to stand alongside her, raising her arm as four pistols appeared around her, pointed at their four adversaries. ...Or three, if Trinity was still... stuck.
"I am Mordi... The Earth Goddess..." She spoke out, her eyes narrowing. "Your scheme is... wicked and cruel, and demands too much sacrifice... Mordi will halt your plans... here and now..." Her eyes focused on Rydia briefly. "How would you... justify the murder of this innocent girl? Rydia... I see your past... I know who you are... your village was destroyed by people with intentions not so different from his..." She said, indicating Jin. "And yet... you help him. Are you so willing to throw away your ideals...? Would you kill Cecil for this man? Would you let Rosa die to see his ambition for power met? You may find... these choices are not unrealistic... His targets... are closer to home than you think..." Quite the ominous words, but she had to try to understand. Rydia seemed... very out-of-place in this lot aside from being the mother to the two demon teenagers here. This plot seemed like something she would typically oppose, and yet she fought for it.

From the moment Mordi appeared and swiftly grabbed a hold of her sword, Trinity was no fool to test her, and vanished long before she could try anything further against her. Was she becoming suddenly a coward? Would she leave her precious family she seemed to care for so much? Or did she have her own plan?
"Quick, does this sacrifice have to be alive or freshly killed before we drag their bloody corpse into the circle??" came Trinity's voice........from behind Jin as she reappeared suddenly! Her voice was only that of a whisper for Jin and Caius's ears only. "We can still win this." They might need numbers, though, or more demons on their side, which didn't seem very possible right now.

Meanwhile, Rydia would find herself...a little shocked in surprise. She knew there were others in the world with the ability to call upon the power of Eidolons, but never had actually really seen them besides her own. In this world they seemed to refer to them as summons, while in her own they were known as Eidolons. It was always an interesting conversation when mentioning them that way in this world. People always looked at her like she said the strangest thing!
And then there was Ein's own, who looked...a lot more intimidating then her own Mist Dragon! Did she want to show it? Of course not, though Ein seemed to be a smart girl, she may of been able to see Rydia's worry-filled face. ".........Would you truly use such power, surrounded by your own friends and family? " She hoped maybe that might stop her from trying anything, but who knew. She couldn't read Ein's face through the determination she held so strongly. Turning to Mordi now, Rydia fell silent...

"...I am willing to do what is needed for a greater cause..You do not need to know the details.." She managed to say. "..Cecil ...He will fall should he get in our way...It's only right he should face the same fate as my mother he killed..." The small pauses in her words were only another small show that her words clearly bothered her, that they were not easy to speak and if anyone really knew her well....they would also know how untrue they were. She didn't really feel this way, and she prayed Cecil and Rosa never learned of what she was doing. Speaking such hard words were hard enough, but to actually fight them..or...threaten their lives..Could she really do that? She took a breath, this WAS a lot harder then she thought possible! "..Speak all you wish! I will not change my mind. I will do what I have to, and I will do all that I can to ensure Jin gets what he needs!"

"If you believe Bahamut G to have no control over its attacks, you will be surprised." Ein said, pointing her gunblade forward. "You made an attempt on my daughter's life. You will all receive no mercy from me." If looks could kill, these demons might all have been dead already.
"All I need is her heart," Jin said in response to Trinity's question. "This is my battle. I don't need you all getting in my way!" Jin said, raising his voice out of apparent frustration. This scene had taken quite the drastic turn, hadn't it? Now even a supposed goddess was involved.
"...Your words... betray you. Whether or not you mean what you say... you must live with those words... for the rest of your life." Mordi's eyes closed momentarily. "I pity you..." Her eyes opened, narrowed. "Do you believe... he would choose your life over the power he craves so much...? How much... do you mean to him?"
"Enough! No more games--to the death!" Ein had apparently stood by as long as she could. "Bahamut!" A orange-red, hellish energy began to gather at the maw of Bahamut G, the power from the energy surging to incredible levels. "Release your hellfire and incinerate them all to ASH!"
"LEAVE!" Jin ordered his family there, before vanishing, appearing above Bahamut, slamming down onto its skull with his heel. This was enough to disrupt the very dangerous attack. The summon roared, snapping its jaws at him, but he warped back down to the floor, avoiding it. He was immediately met by Ein, as Yamato and Hades clashed, sparks flying as the blades met several times in rapid succession. Mordi slid her foot against the floor, causing Jin to lose balance momentarily, though he warped behind Ein as she attempted to capitalize on it, attempting to stab her through the back, but she narrowly avoided, leaping up with a backflip to create some small distance. Only moments later their blades would meet once again, as their clash continued.
"..." Mordi's eyes turned to the other three there. "Fall into slumber." Her four pistols directed at the three there, all firing once each in rapid succession, and had the bullets reached their targets, they would force them into a sudden, deep sleep.
Felicia took a deep breath, a small light pulsing out of her as she did. "I can't fight, but..." She sang a soft tune, golden holy barriers beginning to erect around herself, then Ein, then Mordi. Next, she began to sing a soft melody to increase the strength of her allies, then defense, then speed...

"You can't stop the destruction that will follow as the affect of such an attack. Though, if you care nothing of your friends and family there, go on. " Rydia said to Ein, her words just as cold. "..If your willing to share your 'battle', then give me the time and let me cut her heart out for you! "Anything he needed, anything he wanted, Trinity was well ready to do anything for him, no matter what the cost, and no matter how horrible. "I want to help, that was the plan!" Rather he wanted it or not, she wasn't just going to stop and run away. "..Silence! I won't hear anymore of this!" Rydia's own eyes narrowed into Mordi's own as she began to cast suddenly, but just as it seemed her spell was about to be cast, she turned swiftly toward Ein, casting Stop on the both of them, Ein and her summon! Did she think it would work? Probably not on the summon, but she did hope it may stop the girl at the very least from doing anything else. Using anything on Mordi would be a one hundred percent failure, judging by her status.
Rydia suddenly seemed to vanish as the bullet's fired from Mordi's pistols, for them it may of seemed like she vanished, but it was only just a small spell, warp could come in handy in situations like this, it didn't help her get very far,but it did get her out of the line of sight of a deadly or dangerous attack...
And the moment she appeared again, she would be behind...Felicia, she may not of been all that strong physically, but she likely had enough in her to handle the teenage girl who seemed quite fragile. The Mystic Whip suddenly slipped around her neck as she began to back off with her, all while keeping her enemies in sight of her. They could in no way get behind her when she held the girl in such a dangerous position...which...she began to walk toward the center of that circle. "Do not move! In less then a second, I can send enough electricity through the whip around her neck to end her life instantly. If you try anything....I promise you, it will be the last time you see her. "

But our lives... Mordi's happiness... this feeling is no dream.

There was a jolt of movement from Felicia before Rydia was able to get her whip around the girl's neck, almost as though she realized what was about to happen and tried to move, but was unable. She let out a gasp as the whip wrapped around her throat, the girl being led slowly towards the center. "..." Mordi stood up straight, beginning to float off the ground. "...Do it, then." She said to Rydia.
"Mordi... Gh!" Ein suddenly felt herself partially sink into the floor, immobilizing her completely. The same thing would happen to Jin, Caius and Trinity, completely rendering them immobile. Even teleportation would no longer work. Bahamut was also restrained and made so it couldn't attack.
Mordi floated slowly towards Rydia, her eyes remaining locked onto the Summoner's own. She stopped a short distance from her, floating there in the air before her. "Kill her. Do it. What are you waiting for?" Her eyes narrowed. "That is his mission."
"M-Mordi! Do something...! I don't... want to die...!" Felicia let out desperately, gripping the whip around her throat.
"That decision... is not mine to make, Felicia," Mordi said, almost sounding cold. Her eyes became almost fierce towards Rydia. "He requires her death. Standing by... and letting him do everything... is the same as killing them yourselves. So... do it. Stain your hands... with blood. Kill... this innocent girl... Who did nothing to you."
"MORDI! Release me! I swear if anything happens to her... I will never forgive you!"
"So be it, then." Mordi's eyes never left Rydia's. It was clear what she was doing. She saw Rydia's uncertainty, so she was testing her resolve. Did she truly believe in this? "Turning a blind eye... is the same as killing... you can let Jin and... Trinity... kill them all, but that doesn't make you... innocent... do it yourself." She said severely. "Become like them. Become the monster who destroyed your village. Who killed your mother. ...Do it. Betray yourself."

Rydia could feel her rapidly beating heart as though it were about to come to an end, just how much of this could it really handle? She had never felt such nervousness, or such guilt before. In her heart, she didn't want to do this, she knew it was wrong. This was not her way! She was no murderer....
But if she didn't...others more dear to her, may not exist should she fall back. She couldn't run away from this, as Mordi said, she couldn't just hide and let Jin and her family do everything, it would not make her any better. She would lose everything, Jin already made it pretty clear he really didn't want her involved, and that she had her path open. But if she took that path, they would never be. So, wasn't the sacrifice of one....innocent..girl...worth the risk? She couldn't lose them, her family and the man she loved. "....One...sacrifice...It has to be this way. I can't lose my family! If my hands are to be stained of the blood of an innocent girl...then...that...is what will happen!" The faintest spark of electricity could be seen trailing up through the Mystic Whip, starting from it's handle she held, and on it's way to the surrounding area that remained tightly around Felicia's neck. She would start to feel the sting of the electricity as it began, but nothing severe, not yet...! It started slower then normal, as if she herself was holding it back. Was she hoping for someone to stop her? ...It sure seemed so, though only one with high intelligence might be able to see that. Someone like the young Earth Goddess..

Mordi's eyes remained narrowed onto Rydia. She could feel her rapidly beating heart--even before she became a goddess, she could feel nervousness and heartbeats through vibrations in the earth clear as day, and especially when it was a circumstance such as this, it was all-too-easy for her to know how Rydia was feeling. Yet still, Mordi's eyes did not soften. She did not make any movements to stop her. She just... remained there, floating before her, her eyes locked onto the summoner's. "You don't want to lose... your family... so you'll lose yourself, instead." Mordi said calmly. "Is this... the family you want so much? Is this... the life you look forward to? Death... sacrifices... killing the innocent... is that the family... you're fighting for?" Her eyes never softened, nor did they leave Rydia's. She offered no way out of this. She offered no scenario where Rydia could save face, or leave this without either spilling the blood or giving up on the kill entirely. "Make your choice! Kill... or don't!" It was very rare for Mordi to raise her voice, but this was quite the intense situation, wasn't it? With Mordi doing nothing to intervene, and everyone else restrained or rendered immobile by the Earth Goddess, Rydia had nothing to do except make her choice.

The summoner took a small step back, away from Mordi. She was getting a little to close, which also wasn't helping her nerves. "My family...I would choose them over anything, nothing in this world is more important then them.." A family she wasn't entirely as close to as most families may of been, but here she seemed to care for them so much that she would make such a terrible decision, one that would certainly ruin her life, she would lose her friendships with everyone, and only have this family she she deemed so precious to her for the rest of her days. "..But this...."

But somehow, that side of her that knew this was wrong, was becoming a stronger voice that told her to stop. This was truly one of Rydia's biggest struggles she would ever face. Her family...or doing the right thing. "I'm...sorry...!!" Felicia would suddenly fall forward, with the whip still around her neck as Rydia let her go with a faint shove away! "I'm sorry Jin! I can't...I can't do this.."
"...What..?! Don't give up! Kill her! Your letting a stupid girl get into your head! " Trinity on the other hand, was all for killing Felicia, a scary thing should she get lose and capture her. There would be no talk, she would simply run her blade through her heart in an instant!

Mordi's eyes remained unblinking, focused onto the summoner's for every agonizing moment of deliberation. It was clear she was having an intense inner struggle with herself. She knew what was right and what was wrong, so what would she choose? Her own morality, or the desires of her demonic family? "...." And finally, it seemed her resolve was waning. And soon... she released Felicia completely. Mordi let out a relieved sigh, closing her eyes momentarily. "Finally..." She muttered, raising her head and floating towards Rydia a bit closer. "You did... the right thing, Rydia. I appreciate it." The ground vibrated, and something shot out of the earth. ...Which was... Felicia. The Felicia that had had Rydia's whip around her neck moments prior melted into a pool of mud.
Felicia let out a deep sigh. "Honestly, Mordi, next time a little warning would be nice... Getting shot into the earth suddenly could've killed me just from shock!" Not that she was in any danger--she was in a protected cocoon that wasn't particularly roomy, but had a sufficient oxygen supply.
"...Sorry." She glanced back at Ein. "Your reaction was needed... to make it more believable, too."
"...I don't like being used like this." Ein grunted. "Selfish goddess."
Mordi let out an amused noise, turning back to face Rydia. "You should not... give up yourself... to be with those you love. If they don't... change for you... they don't... deserve you..." She raised her head, looking upwards as she let out a sigh. "All hope... isn't lost, for you... and them... but the process of changing... is not easy..." She glanced at Jin. "Insatiable lust for power... and longevity... don't often go hand-in-hand..." She glanced back towards Rydia. "It's... up to you to turn him from... this dark path..." Her eyes showed how grave and serious the matter was. "Only you can do this... you can change your family, for the better... but it won't be easy... Teach virtue to Trinity... teach compassion to Caius... and... teach love to Jin... he must see that there is... more to this world than power... that true strength... comes from within..." She leaned forward, holding out her arm, as a small, yellowish-brown crystal appeared floating in her palm. "I bestow upon you, Rydia... The Earth Blessing... My blessing--the blessing of the Goddess of Earth..." The crystal slowly floated into Rydia's chest, melding with her soul and giving her a noticeable increase in all of her stats, as well as strengthening her resolve. Mordi straightened her body once again as she floated there before Rydia. "Goddesses only bestow... blessings upon those who they see... potential in... who they deem to be... truly worthy. I sense within you... a longing for the right path... the desire to save your family... So much strength... so much suffering... You've been through so much, and more hardships await you on this path. But... if ever you feel overwhelmed... if ever you don't know what to do, or where to go..." She pointed at her, and Rydia's body shone with the same color as the Blessed Crystal of Earth. "Reach out to me. I will... help... in any way that I can... I have forged a bond that cannot be broken..." She didn't exactly ask consent, but, well, she WAS a selfish goddess, wasn't she? Ein even said so. It was at that moment that everyone in the room would be freed from their immobilization and their restraints. She turned away from Rydia then, saying one last thing specifically to her. "You must be their light on this dark path. Only with the light... can they see the end where they all live." She floated away then, speaking out loudly now, addressing everyone in the room. "This battle is ended. Nobody... is dying today. We will... take our leave." She turned away...
...But severe demonic energy was gathering, exerting a terrifying pressure. "YOU WILL KNOW THIS DEVIL'S POWER..." Jin's eyes turned blood red, and his voice had the familiar demonic overlay. The power gathering around him was so great that it sent gusts of air from around his form, as he lowered into a prepared stance--like a predator about to strike. Mordi turned to face him, her eyes narrowing, as the wind shot out from all directions, her outfit flowing in the heavy gusts. "HAAAAAA!" And, his Devil Trigger activated, and he vanished, not through warping but through his insane speed.
"..." Mordi raised her arm, waiting just a moment, then... slamming an open palm forward. Suddenly, in front of her, Jin reappeared, apparently struck by her attack which caused his movement to cease. His body began to vibrate violently, as though she sent pulses through his body, similar to how she would through the earth. Letting out a loud gasp, Jin fell to the floor, his Devil Trigger deactivating and him losing consciousness.
...And in the next moment, Mordi was in front of Trinity. "Consider this a warning." She shoved her, which would cause Trinity to fly back against the wall. "You are all... strong demons... but the difference in our power... is far too much for you to overcome." That she took Jin down in a single strike was very obvious proof of that--and Jin was far stronger than almost every demon in the world.

"..." Caius stabbed his blade into the ground, standing there with his hands atop the handle. "She is correct, Trinity." He spoke. "You have made your point, and your power is something I must acknowledge. We submit, Earth Goddess Mordi. If you must punish anyone, allow it to be me in place of my foolish sister and power-hungry father."
"..." She turned away. "I will let you all off... with a warning... because of your mother's actions..." She said, as she began to float away. "Next time... I may not be so merciful..." She glanced over her shoulder. "Behave..." And with that, she began to make her way out of the room, and towards the exit of the tower, along with Felicia and a perturbed Ein.
"....She's rather cute, don't you think?" He glanced at his sister, then to his defeated father. "Still... if we are to proceed with our plans, it would be best to try not to cross her path again. To think, she's the child of a mere human..." He let out a sigh. "That Ephraim is her father... I suppose it makes sense, then. He was no run-of-the-mill human, so she is also extraordinary." He paused for a moment. "...Extraordinary in powers, I mean. Nothing else. I was merely joking a moment ago." ...Did he sound like some schoolboy with a crush all of a sudden? Kinda funny considering his earlier chat with Rydia.
