'That is perfectly fine Ginny. In this class you will get used to being around plenty of magical creatures and fascinating beasts,' Kalle said. She wanted to reassure the young girl that it was not her fault at all that the salamander might be frightened of her. If she grew up with muggles then she had no experience at all and this would be entirely new for her.

Eriena Emm – Gryffindor – 5th year Day the Second:
Jem is starting to get me in trouble. She's a perfectly healthy salamander, eats more than her fill of bugs and regularly likes to sit by the windowsill in my dormitory and bathe in the rays. However, she's got more energy than I first expected and I've found her scuttling into my roommate's things whenever I take her out of her jar. I've told her that I wouldn't let her out if she didn't stop doing her business on the other's bedsheets, and she just flicked her little lizard tongue out. I think she's taking the piss out of me. >:/

Oops... Missed a day. Ah, well. I'll do both in one post...
Day one: ~I discovered he was male ~Named him Narlambe ~Discovered even salamanders need potty-training
Day two: ~Started eating small insects (Is this normal?) ~No progress on potty training sweatdrop ~Noticed salamanders are actually quite intelligent. Little bugger escaped the jar and got lost in my bed this afternoon.

DAY ONE My salamander is pink, and also female. Things seemed to turn out nicely. I named her Xena. She's a lot more shy than Xander, not nearly as outgoing or loudmouthed. The age difference most likely has a lot to do with it, but they just have different personalities. Opposites attract, right? She spends a lot of her time sitting at the far edge of her jar, staring at him. Wish I knew what she was thinking.
DAY TWO Xena eats a lot less than Xander. Again, this is probably because of the age and gender differences...but I would also expect her to be eating a little more since she is young, and in a rapid period of growth. I'll try to get her on a three-meal a day diet, since her meals only consist of a few mouthfuls. She's warmed up to the new environment considerably. I only take her out briefly so as to not alarm her, but she really does seem to enjoy it. The squeaking sounds she produces makes me laugh - they're a lot more high-pitched than Xander's. [Yeah, missed a day too...been busy. X_X]

Gryffindor Prefect Sparrow----Gryffindor ----3rdyear Gryffinclaw Quidditch Captain And Seeker
Day Two: Slight growth (only noticeable because keeping track of measurements). Same color. Eating slightly more than yesterday but same food. She almost escaped her jar once at night, but nothing seems wrong regarding that. Adjusting well to the environment and is less afraid of me.

Day Two:
Laitae seems to be rather uncomfortable with the jar, so I took her out in order to rearrange her habitat...I've made it more like a microhabitat, keeping it moist of course. Research has told me that this species of salamanders will eat small insect such as ants, beetles, caterpillars, and centipedes. I think she does like that diet. Other than that, nothing has really changed.

{Haha, I only counted enough for the students who had really recently posted; I wasn't expecting a flow of new students and for everyone else to return. Just make up a colour. Also, excellent journals guys!}

Lena
Lena was quite glad when Professor Kalle announced they would be taking care of salamanders instead of learning about unicorns (not that she hated unicorns, they’re awesome also). She walked to the jars and took a dark violet salamander. She gently opened the jar. Hello! She told it. She then took it in her hands and began carefully examining it. After having examined and let it walk around the grass a bit, Lena carefully put it back into the jar and closed it so as to not let it escape. She opened her note book she had taken out from her bag and began her journal.
My six-legged salamander-Journal
Day one My salamander is a dark violet male named Zoro. He is twenty centimetre long and seven centimetre wide(from paw to paw). He spends most of his time looking out of his jar, standing still in it, he moves very little. So far, he has eaten an insect. He seems alright.
The next day, Lena came outside in the school grounds with her note book and the jar into which her salamander was. She carefully let him out so he could walk around a bit. She then scooped him up and examined him once more to then wrote down notes about him.
My six-legged salamander-Journal
Day two Zoro had grown half a centimetre in length but not in width. He is the same colour as yesterday. He moves a bit more around in his jar then before. Zoro has eaten more insects today, as well as I leaf when I let him walk around on the ground. I put a few leaves into his jar. He seems to like roaming around on the ground outside so I have taken a bit of the soil and put in into his jar. He seems very happy about it.

Antoinette Machiavelli— Slytherin ; Second Year Day Three
Pipi is is still being a rambunctious and stupid little (a word is severely scribbled out here), it's painstakingly obvious this diet isn't doing much good, no, ANYTHING GOOD. I have half the mind to strave him...
Though, he finally slept today. I praised him by letting him stay out in the son extra long. When I came back, he was enjoying it so much, I decided to let him rest there until the son went down. That did the trick. He's starting to behave, just a bit. I would say I'm proud of him, but he's a salamander.

But only at dinner did he stuff himself. i brought him outside when classes were done, and played some one my music, writing, i swear when I looked up, he was dancing. But when he saw me looking, he stopped, I kept doing that, before I put my stuff down and danced with him. Yep. Awesome day, dancing with a crazy salamander. ╚══════════════════════════════════════════════╝

'Well,' Kalle said loudly, addressing the whle class, 'It appears as though most, if not all, of you have figured out everything you need to know about your salamanders without me having to lecture you. However, I would like to warn you that the milk they exude from their mouths is highly venomous. Should they spray milk on you, send someone to fetch me and go straight to the hospital wing.'

Day Tres well Romulus seems a lot skinnier now, and from what the professor just told us, he hasn't dropped any milk from his mouth, well at least i dont think so. He sleeps in his jar and he hates the sun. oh and now he doesnt try to run away at all, which is great. He still loves dim lighting
