Karleen stopped in her tracks for a moment, falling slightly behind her group as she was ignored. Though she was happy her self-bashing comment hadn't been heard, being ignored completely it was.... well it was new. If she said it didn't hit a chord somewhere inside her, she'd be lying.The golden haired female rubbed her face with one hand, trying to knock the shocked expression off her face. She should probably get used to the fact that, even as a shinobi, she was still just a merchant's daughter and probably paled in comparison to the rest of the team. She jogged up to the team in time to hear Seiji talking about the crossroads; she knew them decently. She never went any farther than takumi but her father had talked about the others.
"I've been here a few times before, when I was younger. My father would sometimes take me on supply drops to takumi when they ordered stuff from us. It was always a nice trip, and it always made me excited as a kid. Takumi is a beautiful place, so it was like going to a fantasy world for me." She chuckled lightly, and it was true. She remembered seeing Takumi for the first time with her wide childish eyes, the lights and the bustling streets. It was much different than she had been used to at that point, having lived on Kumogakure's countryside. Her heart dropped for a moment as she remembered her family and how she was before everything happened before she quickly tried to push the feelings deep down again and bottle them up. She didn't have time for sadness or depression, it would only hold her back; so she wouldn't deal with it in the slightest.

Keeping their bearing straight Seiji felt the tension of Karleen as she seemed to be left out of things. Had he ignored her, was the team not communicating? He would point out several locations and sights along the road as he ferried the team down the snowy coast line. Thankfully the air here wasn't as cold as it was up in the mountains, meaning they would be somewhat better off in the weather. Seiji, however, undid the top of his various kimono and let them down around his waist, leaving his muscular torso and arms open to the chilling winds coming off from the oceanfront.
"Karleen, is something bothering you my friend?" He would ask the young girl as they drew closer to the gates.
The scar on his face seemed to turn blue somewhat as they were out travelling. The cold affected the outer layer of the scarring tissue already, but it didn't seem to affect him, in fact it would seem somewhat readily placed on his skin.
xxxxxNathaniel cracked his knuckles as they moved along the paths, taking in as much of it as he could. He'd never left the village before and might not do it again for a long time. He wasn't sure he wanted to go to another village. Takumi was going to be a new experience, and maybe it could open him up to traveling. He turned his head as Karleen was suddenly speaking, about her father and her travels. He felt a bit of, well, secondhand excitement? The way she looked as she talked about the past made him really eager to see Takumi.
"I'd always imagined Takumi as a big industrial camp, honestly," He sighed and laced his fingers behind his head. He spared a glance at Liori, who seemed intensely silent. He changed his path a bit to end up walking shoulder to shoulder with her and grinned. "I bet I can help turn your frowns upside down." Sure, it was cheesy, but the trip was much too tense for his tastes. Jokes were the cause of a lot of his friendships (albeit with armies of children, BUT-) and he wanted to get along with his squad more than anything.

Liori stewed in her boiling blood as they walked down the path, crossing her arms and keeping her eyes forward on the road. It wasn't long before Seiji started talking to her squad mate, this time Karleen, again she would give her leader space as he talked... well as he began to strip off the top of his kimono. Just how many of her acquaintances are perverts? First the make out epidemic with Rin and Axels supposed harem and now her leader was walking half naked on a often traveled road. She kept her eyes off of him, learning them towards the ground again as she walked. Soon she felt a bump at her shoulder, Nathaniel had walked up besides her making a quip to lighten her mood. She stared at him with a blank expression for a quick moment. She exhaled a held breath before shrugging her shoulders lightly. "Fine. Let's here it Green." She said it with as little bite as she could manage, trying not to let her pointless anger get in the way.

Karleen made a noise similar to the air beind kicked out of her before snapping her hands over her mouth. the young female's face was bright red; Seiji had the body of a freaking god! How did someone even get their abs that chiseled?! She barely released the man was talking to her, and it took her a second to register his words. Karleen tried her best to shake off her initial reaction, looking back towards the scenery; but her body was betraying her and there was still a light blush on her cheeks. Perhaps she could play it off as the cold making her cheeks red.
"H-Hm? N-Nah, there's nothing wrong, I'm fine Hattori-san. O-Oh hey, look at that! We're getting closer to takumi. Oh man, I'm so excited, this is gonna be great." Words spewed from her mouth and she hit herself mentally, way to make her seem like an idiot. She was supposed to be a calm and collected shinobi, not a bumbling idiot. What would Seiji think of her now? ... And why did she only care about Seiji's opinion? What the heck was going on with her, this wasn't the first time she'd ever seen a shirtless guy and it definitely wouldn't be the last. "Also you're crazy... it's got to be like twenty degrees out; you probably shouldn't be showing off your ice-sharp abs to the world, Hattori-san. xxxxxNathaniel licked his lips with excitement as Liori humored him. He rubbed his hands together briefly before asking, "What do you call a fake ramen noodle?" He barely gave her time to process the question before blurting out, "An impasta!!" He'd pause to read her face, trying to measure if she understood the pun being a cross between impostor and pasta. Then he'd notice the gate getting close and let out a quiet hurrah. "Time to go investigate, finally... We've been walking forever." He double-checked his person to ensure no identification like his headband was there before entering the gates.

Liori watched as Nathaniel began to get excitement at her go ahead. He then posed a question, well not so much a question as a statement because of how little time he gave her to make a guess. She opened her mouth to answer but he cut her off mid word to give the answer. 'Impasta...' She thought as she stared blankly at him, mouth drawing a thin line as she squinted at him. Then that strong thin line began to wiggle as she struggled to contain laughter. She began to giggle before a short snort escaped her causing her to cover her mouth. "You heard nothing," She told him before patting him on the back, "That was a good one tho, Green." She then followed after him as his pace quickened with presumed excitement. She looked back at the rest of her group and stood waiting. Seiji still hadn't put his shirt back on and from this distance it looked like Karleen was having trouble keeping her eyes off him.

As Theodin and Sonyo finally reached the great crossroads of the world, Theo stopped for a second and stretched his back out, putting his staff across his lower back as a fulcrum point to pop it. Looking down the road, Theo lowered his goggles over his eyes and hit the zoom lens to check out the road ahead, "as far as I can see, path looks pretty clear. And Takumi is supposed to be neutral territory anyway so we shouldn't have any issues." Theo pushed his goggles back onto his forehead over his headband and smiled, "Ready to check out the great village of artisans? They've got a lot of cool stuff around the different shops."

Sonyo stopped while theo took a look around, stretching her hands high above her head. When he said the path was clear, she looked back at Mononoke; she felt kind of bad for dragging the female along now that there wasn't anything for her to do. She was hoping this wasn't too much of a bother, but one look at her bored face reminded her that it was. Sonyo scrunched her face in pity before turning forwards again. "At least this place is peaceful... It seems almost untouched by the war going on." Sonyo started forwards again, her arms clasped behind her back and taking exaggerated steps.

Elizabeth came walking through, her rifle secured over her shoulder by a long leather sling, sized just to her. She stopped momentarily to look off towards the route she had come from and then back towards takumi. Unbeknownst to her she stood in the exact spot that her friend sonyo had stood in the not too distant past while she took a brief pause to drink from her canteen. She couldnt pay attention to the tracks on the ground, there were many. Her thoughts did however drift to her friend. She hoped the girl was doing ok in the sunagakure military. She was tired of all the moving around she had to do so it was nice that she found herself a temporary place in giman to settle for the moment. What she really needed to do however was establish herself a base of operations. She would need to scout a location as well in the not so distant future. But she turned for now and walked on, her mind made up as to the current objectives.

Mononoke sprinted down the road toward Takumi. Her pace had not decreased at all since she started, and it seemed unlikely to do so in the future. Being a golem brought with it some perks, such as not getting winded over things like this.

Almost as though retracing her own steps, Mononoke flitted across the land. A nice, well-paved road meant she could keep her pace up for a seemingly limitless amount of time. Then, as the road veered toward the Land of Wind, she turned off the beaten path and headed out into the desert.
As Karleen walked, she felt something in the air, something here. There was a tugging at her heart; possibly a memory trying to resurface? She didn't know what the feeling anchored to the tug was, whether it was happy or sad. She thought back to Kaza's words, how she didn't have anyone chasing after her. It hit on her self doubt pretty hard, perhaps she'd never get married, never farther her line. Oh if only her aunt had known that she'd never have grandchildren from Karleen. She could just hear her now, yelling at her to find a man already and settle down; but some part of her didn't want any part of relationships, it terrified her to be honest. She didn't trust people not to use her, and she'd be lying if she said she wasn't untrusting of others.
Karleen stopped at the point where the crossroads met the rest of the roads sprawling all over the continent, looking up at the directions. Konohagakure.. Sunagakure... There it was, Kumogakure; she would need to take this path. With a sigh, and a bit of nervousness filling her stomach and creating butterflies, Karleen continued on to the path leading in to the Land of Lightning.

Elizabeth sent her things ordered to her permanent residence and decided to do a little bit of recon. She found herself a nice concealed location and hunkered down, watching people come and go for the time being. Her rifle was concealed with the natural foliage and she was in the deep shadows with it, watching for an opportunity. She let her breathing relax and her heart rate slowed down, allowing for her to be completely motionless and relaxed, her palm wrapped around the grip of her weapon but finger off the trigger and even the guard.
Karleen made her way down the roads to Takumi before stopping about halfway through to take a rest and sit under a tree. She took out the lunch she had packed for herself and began to eat, closing her eyes and humming happily as she did so.
