Nigel limped desperately trying to get to an exit but flames appeared before him and he took a step back. He spun around in time to see the spike coming right at him. He couldn't escape but he was determined to take the man who formed this attack with him if he should die. A sheet of thick ice formed along the floor and under Selael's own feet. Then shot up behind him forming a thick wall behind him preventing him from moving back. At the same time one of the spikes shout through the noble and he coughed up blood that splatted on to the ground. He wasn't dead yet but he was rapidly loosing blood and soon would be. With little strength large thick icicles shot out from the wall room behind his attacker while the ice under is feet around his feet did the same.

~~~~~~
Eveline gave the man a warm smile. "I couldn't just leave you in there...besides...you could have ran and left this house behind. Its the least I can do." She glanced back at the house for a moment then turned her attention back to the man. "You saved many people. A lot of the servants weren't out of the house yet...I would have been still in there running around making sure that people are gone. You're an amazing person I can't thank you enough. ."
She blinked and raised a brow as he told her about the ball. "Used it? What happens after you use it?" she asked as she pulled her hand away from him. "I mean, what kind of power does it enhance?" she asked. She had never seen an actual crystal ball before. She never saw the reason to go out and get her fortune told. Eve was always told that it was all a scam and nobody knew what the future exactly had in store for anyone. "If you need to rest you can rest here...I don't think anyone will come out after you in this mess...I'll stay here to make sure they don't if you wish." she offered.
Her eyes widened at the sight of his power though it was familiar to Beatrix not to Aura. Beatrix has seen his percentage once in the past but Aura's presence was dormant. She stumbled back from the force and fell back on her butt staring up at Dadrik. Her eyes were wide with fear and her body trembled. His own aura did not set well with her either. It made her feel even more uneasy of him and his presence. She opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by the splitting headache that had sprouted. "Shut up!" she screamed not at Dadrik but at herself and held her head.
Her hands fell to her sides and she slowly got back on to her feet. She was determined to form a separation between Beatrix and the Da'vion family while she still had the control. It was her purpose to do things she can't do. To protect her weak mind before it would break and to save her any heart ache. Everything was a danger to her. She preferred it when Trix was isolated from others and didn't reach out like she had started to recently. It makes her job harder. Her white flame sprouted around her then. "I've had enough of this! she doesn't need you!" Her flame then shot forward once again along the ground directly at him. When it was close enough grew in size the rained down at him trying to engulf him. "You are nothing that she needs! She's better off alone!"
Eric Halen
Your Fortune awaits
---------------------------
"Lives are important." Eric stated, still quite tired. "Always were, always will be. Whe someone you know dies, it hits you somwhere emotionally, no matter how much you like or dislike them. It hits you even harder if part of you thinks it's your fault." Eric stopped smiling for just a moment, as he thought of that boy. The frown quickly disappeared to be replaced with another grin. "I had to help somehow, otherwise I'd feel horrible." For a moment, Eric wondered when he had become so caring. He had been seeing things differently lately. This wasn't like him. He didn't care for lives. He stayed away from situations where there was even a chance of him getting hurt or feeling guilty. He stayed in his shop, and scammed people out of their money. To run into a burning building when he had no talent or strength to help him in that situation was idiotic on many levels, and he almost died. Why had he done such a thing? He wonder about it later. Right then, there were better things to think about.
More questions concerning Eric's crystal ball were being asked, so Eric focused once more on the ball. "The ball increases the power of the mind. That means psychic and telekinetic power. Mind reading, mind control, future sight, object moving, and all that. Well, somewhat like that. I'm only good at one of those." Eric sighed. He tried to sit up, but just thunked back on the ground softly. He was still too worn out. "After I use it, I'm often quite tired. If I use it too much, I'll get exhausted, and end up like this, or pass out even."
The woman's offer finally dawned on Eric. He smiled, and even laughed a bit. A small boy approached Eric. He had just scraped his knee. "Are you okay?" The boy asked. "I'm fine." Eric answered. His face was wet from crying, but he wanted to seem tough. He wasn't going to look like a wussy little rich boy. Not in front of this kid. "Well, are you sure you don't want a bandage? I always carry some with me." "Bandage? That would be nice. I don't want to bleed everywhere." Another flashback. Why was he having flashbacks? He didn't want to think too much about it. "You can stay if you want to, but you really don't have to. I'll be fine." The offer was vey nice, but he didn't want to burden anyone, even though he had just recently taken the offer of a free meal from Maarick. Why was he acting the way he was?
Selael
The Pyromancer
"It's the Quiet Ones you have to watch out for..."
After seeing his attack hit his target, there was something on his face that he would never allow anyone else to see in a million years... A Smile. A smile of accomplishment of his deed... He finally did it. His plan was finally set in motion... And what's more, that irritating Maarick wasn't around to foul it up or get in the way. At last... Things were starting to go into motion.
The true intention for this attack, while sending a message was a huge piece of it, was not exactly the message. He wouldn't think this near Maarick, as the fool had some strange way of seeing everything that was at the forefront of his mind, but there were other intentions behind it... The whole time, he realized that criminals might not get the message or even ignore it completely. He's dealt with them long enough to know that they weren't exactly the brightest or the most receptive of people... But the main goal of this was to evoke a reaction from the criminal underworld, particularly those going after the feather. In essence, he was performing a gambit, making a large, dramatic, conspicuous move that would force those trying to steal the feather to make their move in this lethal chess game. What they did, well... What they did would come to pass when the Feather was going to be moved, or at least, when the ceremony would be taking place to move it... He made sure to be very conspicuous about the feather being moved. If luck served, someone would be stupid enough to blab about it and word would almost instantly get to the criminal underworld that the Feather was being moved. It came out of the mouth of Selael Shalehem and it was in the presence of people who seemed to know him, so it would sound feasible enough, as more likely than not, more veteran criminal guilds and even some of the less experienced ones would have heard of Selael Shalehem at one point or another.
His train of thought, however, was interrupted by a sudden, shocking feeling of cold. He looked at his feet and saw ice, slipping on it. How did he use ice in the desert?! Well, with all the expense the owner of this house went to having as much water as possible to have it look like the Western Region, it made sense. It was almost disgusting how much of the nation's water was in one place, AND it was now being used against him.
Selael looked behind him and saw icicles forming and coming after him. In his slipping, he managed to get his left leg impaled against it. Not damaging it in such a way that it would have to be cut off, but it hurt quite a bit and tore a few tendons. It'd be likely that he'd be forced into a limp for the rest of his life on his left leg. He pulled his leg out, ripping off part of the robe and tying it tight around his leg to hopefully stop the bleeding. Speaking of bleeding, the Glass Spike he hurled earlier was beginning to lose its cohesion. Apparently, the magical fire would only have it stay Glass for so long, as it slowly began to turn back into sand. On the outside, this would appear to be a good thing for the victim, however, the glass spike fading away into sand not only re-opened the wound to allow for profuse bleeding, but now there was sand in his wounds... If the blood loss didn't kill Nigel at this point, the infections he'd get from the sand (if any bacteria were still in it) might do him in.
Selael's smile faded as he tried limping out of the building, occasionally trying to use his Ignus spell to attempt to melt some of the ice, slipping and falling every so often. "Such a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things..."
Shokyo Narimono
User ImageShokyo's eyes widened upon the sight of the reversed colors. The bright white flames in contrast to everything else. Suddenly, her eyes floated to the man she was holding onto. Her eyes widened more, but not with alarm or fear, but from curiosity. She almost was gawking at his true form. She could almost see right through him.. She heard his voice and looked back up at his face, and nodded.
Everything seemed like a blur. It was moving so fast. She held his hand tightly, as she feared letting go, falling somewhere in this abyss. She peered around at everything in their new colors and lights with utter curiosity. They descended down, she looked at every room as thoroughly as she could before he fell through that floor into the next one. Upon reaching the cellar, he seemed to be unsure, searching still..
He spoke again, and she blinked. "Really? I'm sorry if I missed it! Where do you think it is?"
Dadrik
The Phantom blaze
Dadrik took a step closer to Beatrix as she shouted with her hands in her head. At that point he felt something from her snap in her mind. But shortly after Aura began to Speak again. His black dilated eyes shifting back and forth in his head. His mind began to think back on everything she was saying. Sure Beatrix had problems but with the collar off Beatrix has protection. Maarick and him had problems as well. Ones that Beatrix and her alter self may not be able to handle. His life was dangerous, and if he was around....it be put on Beatrix sooner or later. This is something he didn't want....maybe, he should let her go. She would most likely be better off anyway. Dadrik lost his concentration for the few moments he started to think. When his gaze went back to Beatrix but by that time a white flame was heading toward him. Black flame showed up infront of him and swirled up and around him, making a shield engulfing him. The clash of Black and white flame fought each other off till the black flame vanished and the white fire was falling around him. That is when his black flame pushed off away form him pushing the rest of the white flame away. His eyes shifted up to Beatrix.
Dadrik's eyes were filled with with pain, the pain of what he was about to do. " Maybe....maybe your right." He finally choked out. But it came out in a stutter. His voice shaky. From this point on he couldn't look directly at Beatrix. " I am a danger......" His skin started to return to normal, his hair falling and his teeth sinking back into his gums. " She deserves better then...the monster I am. She doesn't need me....My....upcomings.." He then shot his eyes up to Beatrix, his eyes swelling up. As much as he didn't want to do this, with all they have been though. He had to..
Dadrik then started to walk toward Beatrix but stopped. "But don't get me wrong....I will always protect her....protect you. Even when it seems I am not around. If you fail to protect her Aura...I will be there.....so you better prove yourself to be useful. I could lock you away deep within her mind like the Collar did....but I believe...maybe....this is the safer path for Beatrix...you are the white flame." His body flickered and he was once again infront of Her. Before she could react he put his hand behind her Hand and pulled her forward, Locking his lips with hers in a kiss. He figured her fire would engulf him but he was ready, and would take it. He pulled back after a few moments. His eyes still swelled. "Beatrix...if you can here me...I hope to god you can here me..." He stopped for a moment. "I...I love you...I always will." he said as he let go of the back of her head. His body flickered from hers and he was faced away from her. His eyes closed, but this could not be seen by her. " Orpheus, Please......take her back to the blue moth." He turned toward Beatrix after saying that but looked down after looking into her much different eyes. They were not his Beatrix's...Aura's were much different in both sight and feeling. " Aura, Take care of her......Despite what you think, I will never think of her any different then I do now....And I would not be like the rest to her..." he gave her a moment to say anything if she wanted.
Dadrik turned from her soon and started to walk away. "Now please." he said, the moment he did a black hole ringed with crimson opened up under Beatrix. Slowly she fell into it until she was completely engulfed in it. But when she did, she only ended up in the room in The blue moth hotel.
Maarick
The Emerald Reaper
Maarick just shook his head lightly as Selael spoke. He would let what he would do next happen. Once Selael went to Nigel, Maarick's body dissipated into Air. He followed Selael in his wind form and watched, letting what he would do happen. Considering what his brother just did few minutes ago. It would take more then glass shards to kill Nigel now. Only one step left to make it where he couldn't die completely. Maarick waited till Selael left before he showed back up. Now that Nigel was on the ground alone, Maarick swirled around his bleeding body until his own body formed infront of Nigel. As Nigel was on the ground, he was most likely feeling as if he was Bleeding to death, no doubt in alot of pain as well. Especially from all the wounds he had taken.. But Nigel would of by now realized, he wasn't dead yet. Though he should be.
Maarick kneeled down and let out a sigh. " You know, You may be a disgusting excuse for person...but this tactic My brother wants to take....I would never wish on anyone....But in my family....when someone requests something of you. Its not that easy to Refuse. He has a horrific plan for you...You'd do well to prepare yourself..." He said putting his hand on Nigels forehead. A black aura began to show up around him but it was being sucked into Nigel. Maarick Chained Nigel's soul to his body, making it where he could not die, but his body could rot as if it was dead. Always making him in pain. Only to heal again to happen all over.
Maarick let go of him and his body flickered and he was gone. He showed up by Dadrik. " Dadrik...." he looked at his brother, which his eyes were still swelled. "I understand how you feel....are you sure ..." He stopped and nodded.
Lilith
Lilith showed up soon after. She was quiet for a few minutes but then shook her head. " No, but foxy...we just...." She stopped as well. Letting out a puff she flickered into the castle away from all of what was happening.
Eveline nodded as he spoke to her. She wondered what brought on these thoughts. A normal person would have just watched from a distance as her house burned. She was very grateful to him. Her deep blue eyes widened as he told her about his powers. Could he really do all of those things or was he just trying to fool her. She looked down at the ball then looked back up at him. It didn't matter right now, the man had helped her save everyone and for that she was grateful to him. Eveline then wrapped her arms around him for a moment and hugged him. "I can't thank you enough..I know I've said this so much...but by exhausting yourself and putting yourself in danger...I'm so happy that you stumbled inside. Your a saint." she said and gave him a peck on the cheek. She then pulled away and gave him a smile.
She glance back at the house and a frown appeared when she saw the man that started to burn down her house. She stood up and looked back down at the man. "Excuse me sir.....I'll be right back alright. Just rest here for a moment I have to go speak with that man over there for a moment." She then turned away and started running towards the man that the Da'vion had called Selael. "Wait! stop!" she called after him. Eve then noticed something wrong with him. He was limping and then he would fall. How serious was his injuries and who did he get them from? The closer she got to him she noticed the blood mixed with water and then the ice in his leg. Her running came to jog then to a walk until she finally came to a stop not to far from him and stared at him for a few moments. "You found my brother?"
As soon as his lips locked with hers Beatrix started to take control of her body. Her own tears started to blur her vision and she stared at him as he walked away from her. She hand started to shake as she reached out towards him but the dark hole too a hold of her and soon she found herself her room at the blue moth inn.
The dullness faded from her eyes replaced by the full hue of her deep green. "Dadrik!" She yelled, calling for him but it was too late. She grabbed her hair and fell to her knees. Her vision blurred with the tears swelling up in her eyes. A sharp pain in her chest made her let go of her hair and grip on to her shirt. Her tears fell down her cheeks and fell on to the floor.
What did you do? What did you do? What did I do? She thought. She closed her eyes and faded visions of Aura's actions flashed through her mind. The swelling of Dadrik's eyes and the words that came out of her mouth was horrible. His kiss pulled her from the depths of her mind and into control. I'm horrible. Tears slipped down her cheeks and she pulled herself up from the floor. She walked over to the bed and fell on to it. I'm horrible.
"Love you? What a lie....He just threw you out. Its nothing but a lie...it's all a lie..." said a whisper in the back of her mind. "Gods shut up! You ******** this up!" she yelled. She closed her eyes and shook her head. "I have to talk to him.." she whispered in desperation looked around for the rose that he had given her some time ago. She could break it and he would come back wouldn't he? "I don't even see why you are trying. He left you. He'll never come back...face it. He abandoned you." the voice said. She shook her head as she grabbed the cloth that she had wrapped it with. "No..no no...he said that he.." The voice cut her off and finished her sentence for him. "Loved you? He abandoned you Trixie. He's not going to come back..he's a danger to you. He'll kill you..."
Eric Halen
Your Fortune awaits
---------------------------
Had Eric been in better shape at that moment, he might have caught that someone was attempting to steal the feather, and that they had already made it into the castle basement area. Unfortunately, Eric was good for nothing at that moment. He was shocked when the woman embraced him, but he did not dislike the embrace at all. It was nice. Eric's smile strengthened a bit, the went back to it's weak appearance as The woman let go. He listened to the words. Saint? When had he become a saint? More importantly, how long would this goodwill of his last? It seemed to bring good results, but Eric still had money to make. He had to make a living, or else he would end up in poverty. Either poverty, or running back to his parents. That was something he didn't plan on doing at all. Something like that was more a crime to him than grand theft, and maybe on par with murder. He had run away for a reason. He wasn't going back. Eric was very deep in his thoughts, but was pulled out as he felt something against his cheek. Was that what he thought it was? He glanced over to the woman to see her pulling away. It was excactly what he thought it was. He felt warm, and began to turn red. He didn't know what to say. His face took on a look of surprise. He was definately shocked.
There was a man walking out of the building, and he was limping. It was that man Eric had seen Maarick confront earlier. Eric nodded when the noble woman said that she would return. Eric understood somewhat what needed to be done. The man seemed to have been the cause of the fire. Eric had noticed that earlier, while he was inside the building. The woman must have been cross, seeing as her home was burnt down by some emotionless man. No, the man wasn't emotionless. Eric looked back a bit, trying to rememebr what he had seen. The man hadn't been emotionless. He was hiding them. He was letting them build up. That seemed foolish to Eric. Why would anyone hold in what they feel until it explodes. That didn't make sense at all. Eric layed on the grass, and just let everything proceed. He was useless in his current stae anyway. Even if he tried to do something, he'd be nothing but a hinderance. He sighed, and closed his eyes. The grass was soft. He would rest until the woman came back.
Selael
The Pyromancer
"It's the Quiet Ones you have to watch out for..."
Selael limped on... He knelt down and pulled off the cloth he used to close up his wound, now far enough away from the wretched Maarick to use his fire more effectively. He used his Ignus spell, having the fire cauterize the wound. He didn't wince as he did this, as judging from some of the exposed parts of his body, it was a rather common way he fixed injuries. However, as he got back up he was still limping. As it became increasingly impossible to ignore the girl who called him heartless or stupid, he responded in only one way, the way he was taught to respond to nobles when they saw him doing his work.
"I do not exist. This is an accident that has claimed the life of the Ringleader of a Conspiracy against the Royal Family. The Royal Court will tell you the same." He limped on, dragging his left leg across the sand and stumbling about. He somehow got a feeling that the damned Maarick found SOME way to screw up his finally getting rid of a ringleader of a conspiracy. Of course, with how all powerful those imbeciles were, it wouldn't surprise him that they'd do something JUST to screw it up. Of course, everyone inexplicably loves them for a few token gestures, and he was to be hated in the shadows of society. Of course, he had to be. That was his job... He was the monster in the Dark that scared away people who crawl around in the shadows.
He would keep on limping, holding one of his hands back and using the Ignus spell... The spark came out, though it seemed rather haphazard as it combusted only 2 seconds after being produced. Nevertheless, it did as he intended... It blew the sand upward to cover his path, at least he hoped it did. He did not want to be followed.
Rinzo "Death's Shadow"
"Just the other side of this back wall" he replied, pushing through it and pulling her with him. They now over looked a ledge witha narrow chipped in stair case to a vast labyrinth below. "If you were going to hide a feather, wouldn't this be an ideal spot?" He asked her rhetoricaly. Using his tentacles to quickly descend to the begging of the labyrinth. Then as their feet touched the floor a huge roar filled the cabin and the roof of the cave seemed to be descending. A black cloak with what appeared to be a giant maw filled with an eire light was trying to envelope them. Rinzo instinctively let them fall out of the shadow realm back into the regular plane.
"Almost to close" he thought to himself. "I should've expected an area so deep in the dark to harbor a creatue like that.".
That man was very confusing. As he walked past, Eric caught a small glimpse of anger, but nothing else. Why was he angry? Why was the man destroying things, and causing pain? Why was he talking to the woman the way he was, telling her that he didn't exist? None of this made any sense. Eric wasn't going to try and look any further into it. He was obviously exhausted. He hated doing things the way that he did. The good thing was that Eric was obviously getting more powerful with his psychic abilities. He wouldn't have been able to last that long a few months ago. He would have passed out for a few days if he tried to strain himself that much. Eric could have laughed, but didn't. Instead he layed there, motionless and calm. Overthinking was not a good idea, nor was exploding into laughter. He would give himself a headache.
"Where are you going, Eric?" Eric's mother asked as Eric prepared to walk out the door. "I'm just going out to play with one of my friends?" The small child answered. "A friend? What is his social class? You know that I don't want you to be associating yourself with people significantly lower than you." "He's high enough, Mother." Eric replied, somewhat irritated with his mother's attitude. he walked out the door, and ran off quickly before his mother could stop him.
Eric rested on the grass. he could still feel the heat from the building, but tried his best to ignore it. Worry would not help him rest at all. If he spent to much time worrying about anything, it would tire him out, as odd as that sounded to him when he told himself that. he thought about the grass, and how soft it was. He thought about the money he was going to get for helping Maarick, and how shiny it was. He thought about the woman, and how beautiful she was. He hair, her eyes, everything about he. He though about her embrace, and of her lips on his cheek. He was thinking about her alot all of the sudden. Didn't he dislike nobles?
Selael
The Pyromancer
"It's the Quiet Ones you have to watch out for..."
After returning home, Selael had the people who would hinder him out of the way... Excellent. Now that they were gone, he could proceed with his plan and get things ready... He'd also have to move the actual feather into its new home. He'd probably take care of it the morning before the Moving of the Ark... Or perhaps later. He'd decide at another time. He reached to the Phoenix Ark, grasping the lid for a few seconds... Evidently, he had to touch the Ark to have the magicks inscribed upon it ensure that he was, in fact, of the Shalehem family. Once it was confirmed, he slid the lid off the ark, the golden-plated metal resounding in a loud thud on the ground. Selael then held his hand over the box... Since this spell had his full attention and he had no distractions, he had no need for an incantation and thus produced what he needed... A self-sustaining bit of Flame Magic called the Dancing Flame, which he molded into the shape of a feather. The fire itself would not consume anything or actually exude much heat aside from that of a warm hearth, and would thus survive in the atmosphere contained inside the Ark. Its aura, as he intended, would greatly mimic that of the Phoenix Feather itself, if not appear identical to those using a spiritual or magical form of sight rather than a corporeal sight... To those who would actually be able to look at it, which wouldn't happen until the Ark was opened, it would really look almost nothing like the phoenix feather. Such was the trick... An almost cruel prank upon those foolish enough to pursue such a valuable secret of the Kingdom...
And a grand hint as to who is behind the conspiracy against the family.
He took the feather into his own custody, placing it in a simple box in the middle of the Basement Ward, in the middle of the sand... He did the same for the other on the tower, the boxes both seeming almost worthlessly discarded into the sand, wooden chests of almost minimal value...
The Ark was now ready... All he needed to do is find a company of guards to accompany him and it would be sufficient to perform the rite.
Shokyo Narimono
User ImageShokyo's red eyes looked at him curiously still. It seemed that she was not fearful of this form at all, but fascinated greatly. As they pushed through the wall, she turned her head to observe. The ledge was massive, in an even bigger labyrinth. A case of chipped, unstable stairs met her eyes.
They began descending, and she held his hand tighter, as if expecting the law of gravity to still be present. their feet touched the floor, and she heard it. A roar tore through her ear drums, and she looked over quickly. A maw, open and poised to take them over was all her eyes met. She held back a shriek, though she drew closer to him, her head against his chest.
She blinked, as nothing happened. She looked up, seeing his other form. She looked around, before noting how close she as. With a small squeak she released him, and backed up a few steps. Her cheeks gained color. "S--sorry, Mr. Rinzo.."
Selael
The Pyromancer
"It's the Quiet Ones you have to watch out for..."
After a rather long time of working on his project, Selael realized that daylight was beginning to spring upon the horizon of Aden... And with daylight, apparently, came the sound of footsteps to his door... Well, not just footsteps. Marching steps, to the rhythm that a heavily disciplined soldier would step to...
Good. For once, people for whom self-discipline wasn't some form of slavery. One of the soldiers then knocked on the door, presumably the company leader. Selael opened it up and looked at the company... Each of them ceremoniously dressed in formal uniforms of Crimson and Gold armor, carrying weapons of the finest quality... Blades crafted with the greatest, most intricate care (even with rubies encrusted into the hilt), and shields emblazoned with the crest of the phoenix, polished to glean in the sun... All this ceremonial, flashy attire, and down to the letter for the ceremony of the Moving of the Ark... And at the center of it all would be the Ark itself, a gargantuan vessel that appeared to be a box of solid gold, but in actuality a metal that was plated in gold yet was far more valuable than the king of metals...
In fact, it was fair to say that in reality, the box was far more valuable than it's contents. Of course, no one would know that... Not even the military were told that the box did not contain the feather. All they knew for certain was that the box MIGHT contain the feather and it's their orders to protect it with their lives.
"Selael Shalehem, we are ready to receive your orders."
"Good. Throughout this ceremony, remember that you are to take orders from no one but myself. You are to follow me in the procession and drive away those who try to get too close to the Ark. If it is a noble, tell them it's for their own safety that they keep away from the Ark, and leave it at that. Send in four of your men to carry the Ark. I have set up rods underneath it so that none of you will have to touch the Ark directly." A necessary precaution, considering that the Ark's Wards were activated upon being touched by any substance except the flesh that belongs to a Shalehem. Four troops sheathed their weapons and picked up the rods holding up the gargantuan, Golden Box, and found that it was lighter than they expected. Selael then stepped out of the way, allowing the four soldiers to walk out the door with the Phoenix Ark, then waiting outside...
The group then went into the formation demanded by the Ceremony of the Moving of the Ark. The soldiers formed a layered hexagon around the four who were carrying the Ark, at the back of this Ark being the company's leader, while at the front was Selael Shalehem, holding out a book that he normally hadn't chained to his body... In fact, it was a book that hadn't been used for centuries; Songs of the Guardians.
A Herald had already told the people of Aden that the Feather would be moved and a ceremony would accompany it, though nothing could prepare them for this... Selael flipped through it, then began reading the chant in Old Adenese... There were few today who could understand it, and even he only had a vague idea what the words meant, though this book and the words that were written on it seemed to have a strange power to them... Perhaps not conjuring any strange magic, but for one reason or another, it seemed that everyone in the entirety of Aden could hear Selael's voice reading the chant most ancient in a voice that carried out throughout the city...
"Eyaaaaaaaa velkhamaaaa scheraaaak veyaaaaaaaaaaan... Charloooooooooooch Adeeeeen himekhleheiiiiiiiiiiiiii weraaaaaaaan...."
The voice he cried out the chant in was borderline eerie... The song was not one of joy or comfort, but one of warning that was meant to disturb those who heard it, and discourage them from pursuing that which was kept dear to the Guardians... It was difficult to discern what the song was actually saying, but the message behind it was clear: Stay away.
The melancholy, eerie tune continued to echo throughout the city.. The Procession had begun, the Phoenix Ark carried in a steady, regal march that would almost be fitting for a King being carried on his throne, but the song made the whole affair look like a burial, the Ark a Golden Casket... The song continued to echo throughout the lands as Selael continued belting it out, the Soldiers keeping their heads held high as they looked around for those who would dare attack the Ark in its procession, save for the four carrying it, whose eyes were fixed upon the Guardian, who their attention was fixated on... This was a man who devoted his entire life to this strange, obscure life, reading of rituals which had been long gone... It was almost unreal to them, as it would be to most of the citizens of Aden, that such an old rite was being performed on this day...
"Kheruuuuuuuv hekhleeeet aaaaahm uuuraaaaaaaaan...
Eyaaaa Aden Olooooookh weeeeeraaaaaaaan..."
((OOC: An idea of what the song might sound like.))
The Ark was then delivered to a shack somewhere on the outskirts of the main city... This Shack had a massive labyrinth beneath it, appearing to be one of the earliest places the Ark was kept in. Selael stopped the song as he entered the massive labyrinth, going through each of its passageways with precise knowledge of which path led where... He knew of this labyrinth, as it was, in fact, one of the oldest housings of the Ark. Leading the group into the maze's end (which, oddly enough, was underneath the castle), he had the soldiers place the Ark in its center. He picked up a chest that was already there and placed it in his robes. He nodded at the soldiers and they left, with Selael as their guide, of course.
When they left, Selael would immediately head to his house and check the chest... The Physical Feather was inside. Good... He went to the cellar of his house and began creating a ward, not unlike the one that he made earlier, but with one twist... The final layer was a trigger for the Oculus Ignus... Which would engulf his entire house in flames and incinerate it and whatever was inside.
Eric Halen
Your Fortune awaits
---------------------------
The warmth of the morning sun on Eric's face woke him from his deep sleep. He blinked a few times before he stood up. He looked down and realized that he had fallen asleep on Valdigraph land. Blinking a few times, Eric checked to see that he had everything. He still had all his belongings, and his money as well. It was wonderful. He was still alive, and still in possesion of all his things. The bonus was that he could move again. That ordeal inside the house was interesting, but he had been saved. The fortune teller smiled. He was quite impressed with everything. The sun was warm and sweet, the grass was soft and cool. Out of nowhere, he let out a huge bit of laughter. One thing that he wondered though, was whether he should return to his shop. He would probably have to soon. He did have a business that needed to be taken care of, and he had customers waiting at his door some days, now that he had bumped up his popularity and put up advertisements everywhere. Eric decided leaving was a good idea. He turned, and began to walk away.
A loud sound caused Eric to stop moving. He listened to the sound, trying to determine what it was. He deduced that it was a voice, and it was singing a song that seemed to be in gibberish, or some ancient language. The song was eerie, and caused Eric to feel as though walking away right then was a bad idea. He stood still, listening to the words as they sounded. It took him a moment to realize that the voice belonged to the emotionless man who used fire. Eric shudderred. Why would that man be drawing such attention to himself? It hardly seemed smart at all. In fact, for someone who said earlier that he did not exist, he was causing alot of noise. Eric sighed. People made no sense. After the singing halted, Eric continued to not move. Would he ever see the noble again if he left like that?
