"That's true," Earendil admitted. "I just hope that the people will also give him a chance when he returns. That they won't just treat him as they also have. That's the other part, after all, getting the people to accept him and see that he's changed."
Though by then, who knew how long he would have been gone? The children at least wouldn't remember him, he was sure, and children were the best judges of character.

"Well... we'll see, it'll be possibly a long way off in the future till we get that point," Lin replied as she finished putting away that pile of clothing.
Checking the drawer, she figured there was enough room for more clothes in that drawer.

"Possibly," Earendil agreed.
He kept hanging up his clothes, his thoughts running away with him.
"I wonder if he'll be coming with us to Caras Galadhon," he mused aloud. "That would be interesting."

"That's a good question... I suppose it depends on where we stop by first when we set sail, but then again where we stop first depends on what he has to say."
She supposed Aethos would have a say if they stopped at Amon Darthir first or if they stopped at Caras Galdhon first.

He finished hanging up the clothes and turned to see if Lin was finished with the ones she was putting in the drawer.

"It would be," Lin replied heading back out the door to get more clothes, "But, that is up to Aethos."
And again that was far into the future to be honest.

Earendil nodded and followed after Lin. "I know. It's just a thought."
It took them two more trips to bring all of Earendil's clothes back to their room, and on the final trip they stopped for Lin's bag as well. When that was finished, they headed downstairs.
Shiara and Haradhel had set the table and were just putting the food on the table, and Shiro and Kaito were talking with Elrohir and Ahren in the playroom. Just at that moment, the door opened and Elberon ushered Miyuki into the house.
"We're back," he grinned.

"Ada! Mommy!" Miyuki made a bee line for her parents, "I got to learn all about the horses!"
In which, learning about horses was the first step to riding one, so Earendil was right about Miyuki getting Elberon to teach her a bit. She tried hugging the both of them together.
"Hey... what's those shiny things around your necks? They look like feathers."

Earendil laughed and hugged Miyuki back. "Yes, they are feathers," he grinned, his eyes sparkling brightly. "Promise feathers. Do you know what that means?"
He grinned at Miyuki and put one arm around Lin.

Miyuki looked between her parents, and she had stayed within the Winters' household enough to at least know what a promise feather was. Even if she didn't, the similar designs might have given it away, anyways.
"You're married! Yay! Yay! So ada doesn't have to sleep in a different room anymore?"

Earendil chuckled. "Sort of. It means that now you get to share a room with Senka, while your mother and I will be sharing a room. That's how it is with families, Mother and Father sleep together, and the children have rooms of their own."
He smiled at Elberon, expecting him to be heading off again, but he was surprised when instead of leaving, the groom held up one finger and mouthed, I have a question first.

Miyuki's smiled dropped upon hearing that, "But why? Why can't I sleep with you?"
Lin, having expecting this crouched down to be closer to Miyuki's height, which wasn't that far anyways for a nine year old. So she hadn't realized that Elberon hadn't left yet.
"Well, besides the fact that's the way families work, it'll be also far easier on you. I'm sure you noticed you don't have as much room since your last growth sleeping with me. Not only that, but you also lack your own space for your things."
She could see that Miyuki was not at all convinced.
"And you won't be alone, Senka will be with you and you'll be in my old room, and I have a lot of things from my childhood I think you might find interesting. Trust me, you will like this, it'll just be a bit different for a while."

"Besides," Earendil added, looking back down at Miyuki, "you'll be going to bed before your mother and I, and this way we won't wake you up, either. And you'll like it, you'll see."
He smiled at her, then turned his attention back to Elberon. "You had a question ..."
Elberon nodded, his expression entirely serious. "Yes. I was wondering if you and Lin had noticed anyone around the ranch who doesn't belong. Anyone new."
Earendil blinked. "I haven't seen anyone ..."
He looked at Lin to see if she had.

Lin frowned as she made a mental tally of the people who had come with her and who they had seen.
"Not that I recall, and the group that came with me to Haven isn't anyone you or anyone else hasn't met yet."
This was true, after all the mers and Miyu were long time visitors of Haven, and by now they were probably visiting or staying with their favourite people.
"Why?"
It sounded like an odd question.

Elberon shrugged. "When Miyuki and I were heading this way, I thought I saw some people just beyond the treeline, watching the ranch. I didn't recognize them ... I just wondered if maybe they'd come with you or something."
Earendil frowned slightly. "We should tell Elrohir ... maybe we could go out and help look or something."
