The old woman closed the microphone and was about to return to the judge table, when Jade, the NPC maid came to speak to her, once again.... An argument followed. After two minutes, the old woman took back the microphone, obviously in a bad mood.
"It has been brought to my attention that I have forgotten to say the score of a participant.... Florence Sonata the 6th has... It pains me to say that... but... It has 25pts. THAT'S RIGHT. The 3rd position goes to a BUG! What is wrong with you people! Can't you cook better than a bug? You make me wanna cry! Round 2 begins, and I better not see that bug on the top three again!"

Jack sighed, he was down pretty far on the list. He smiled though when it came to the main coarse dish. He already had a recipe in mind, Sweet and Sour fish! He has made it before and with many types of fish. He quickly grabbed and bowl and mixed some salt, egg whites, and cornstarch. He then with many swift motions, took a fish fillet and chopped it into cubes. He tossed them in the marinade. He then took another bowl and mixed in a various of ingredients such as tomato paste, rice wine, and sugar. Once the sauce was done, he added a tiny bit of oil to a pan and started to cook the fish. Once the fish were brown, he added some peppers and peas to the fish.

Once the fish and veggies were cooked for a acouple minutes, he dished his fish out on the plates. He then placed the veggies around the fish then gently drizzled the sweet and sour sauce over the fish and vegetables. He then smiled as he sprinkled some garlic powder and ginger on the finished product, something that he does to make it unique.

Well, they were average. Not as good as last year, but still, Keith wasn't at his best this year. Too much stuff on his mind plus his wound still hurted like ********. At least, they still had two other rounds to do something better. Stupid little Miss Perfect Alanis would be impossible to beat. ******** her. He had always hated her for that and it would see it wasn't about to change. "Dude.... the sauce you did... really didn't turn out like I was expecting. Seriously, I looks like if someone put BBQ sauce in it or something. Oh well. We're in the middle. We can still ******** win this" Yup, he was still confident! Now, for the main course...
Keith only really knew once Chinese recipe, Buddhas Delightsomething that he had taken from Gladice (like all his other recipe, really). Thankfully, this one was vegetarian, which meant lot of cutting, which was Keith's forte.... he wouldn't have tried anything else, anyway. He went to the ingrediant table and grabbed a s**t load of various mushrooms, bamboo shot, and nuts as well as some random spices that looked good. He told Conor to grab a cup of rice as well as a block of tofu.
When he got back at the station, he immediately started to cut the tofu in the right way, three them in a bowl and passed it to Conor. "Can you boil some water, once it's boiling, throw the rice in it, lower the heat and don't touch the pot after that... at all. No touching the pot. Or the cover." Good rice was so easy to screw up.... "Can you fry that tofu while I do the rest? just a golden brown is good enough..."
He returned to his slicing up veggies. He loved it! Cutting stuff with a knife was always fun, even if no one was screaming or bleeding. He took extra care into making every peice having the same lengh, shape and thickness. That was the one particularity of the Buddha's Delight. Every bite was exactly the same as the previous one.

Oh, She was so happy! Not only had Gaston declared her the winner on the spot, but both her grandmother and the 3rd judge had said her meal was one of the best they had ever tasted! That, and she was a landslide in advance of the other! She would so win this because she was perfect! And Perfection meant always winning! "Have you heard that Lucas! We're leading! We make suuuch a perfect team don't you think~ Here! We should cook that next!" She said to him as she pulled him into a hug. She then passed him a peice of paper where she had written down a recipe as they were waiting to be judge. The first step was as follow...
Chop off the turtle's head and drain off the blood. Scrape off the hard outer skin, remove the hard shell, and gut. Wash thoroughly and chop off the feet. Cut the turtle into 3 inch (7cm ) chunks.....

Well, that hadn't went as well as both of them had expected! They were just close minded people who couldn't accept the great benefit of eating duck fetus! Now, what benifit was it? It depended on who you asked. Freja would debate all day that it gave you beautiful hair, while Mao was of the (stupid) school that believed it gave perfect nails.
For there next meal, they decided to go Grandiose for that one! A Full 3 course Duruchigi! She went to the table and grabbed the ingrediants she needed... but no meat. No, they would use Mao supply that he alway had on him! (Just like she always had a duck egg). Little did anyone know... It was dogmeat.

  Nanami was exhausted! Why was this so hard? Sure, their food tasted good, of course it did! But... god, the preparation had been so clumsy! And they had gotten defeated by a bug! Her pride was seriously wounded. "What next?" she asked her daughter. Haruka let out a sigh. Well... that first round hadn't gone well at all, had it? She was embarrassed. Last year she had done so well, too! But there wasn't much time for her to stand around and think about herself. The second round had started! She knew exactly what they were going to make this time: five spice chicken! She just had enough time to marinade and grill the chicken, cooking a side of fried rice while she waited for the main dish to finish.

Agh, it made Nanami hungry. She had such a weakness for grilled chicken~ She watched Haruka work with a small smile. She was doing so well this time! And thank god she was just responsible for decorating the food! When Haruka was done cooking, Nanami placed the chicken on the plate next to the fried rice and made sure it looked nice. Well, you know. As nice as chicken and rice could look.

 Well, thank god none of Alex's culinary school friends or professors had been there to see that. Not only had he lost to an insect, but he was a good 11 points behind a teenage girl! He had too much pride as a professional to let that slide. Alex let out a small sigh. He was slipping! He didn't particularly care about winning, but that didn't mean that he was okay with lower quality food. He was a professional, for godssake! For the second round, the main course, he decided to go with a pork stew. It was simple, but he wasn't going to risk it with some big, elaborate dish.

He... he had spilled it! What the hell was going on with him?! Alex hesitated and wondered if he should just drop out now. He wasn't generating a very good reputation for himself, was he? Anyway, Alex finished cooking pretty quickly, so he decided to make a side of noodles. When he was done, he ladeled the stew into three bowls, and distributed the noodles to their own dishes.

When she talked about the soup... and mentioned Frank S. he could feel the air in his lungs just leave. Vanish. Poof. Just like that. Was he dizzy? A little bit... and light-headed too. Lucas turned to the side a bit, letting himself hyperventilate for a few moments before shakily composing himself. He could do this. He could. Or maybe not. He had turned back to have Gladice come and taste their dish. DID SHE JUST!? He might just puke. Yes they did wonderfully but... "..." The boy was speechless, and slightly pale. A little willpower came to him after Alanis let him go off that dreaded hug. Then it came. The recipe. Lucas couldn't take it right there... No he-think of your buddy. Frank S. Do it... for him. So he tried... at least until he chopped off the turtle's neck. "Oh goddess..." If you heard right, and tuned in carefully you would catch that thud that came from the fainting boy hitting the floor at the thought of-that horrible recipe! Oh well... Alanis could cover this? Right?
