Fae noticed Osero's thoughtful stare , and as anyone would do, looked down too. There, the two Aerandir gryphs were catching up with one another and what they've missed, exchanging of body movements and little sounds. She didn't see how this could be anything relevant, but perhaps he just wasn't used to seeing little Aerandir running around. She looked back up before he did and smiled admiringly. Fae distantly tried to picture him as a child, and, taking a step back further, even a gryphon. It was hard to imagine since this was the only Osero she knew. Once he caught her eyes again, however, she straightened herself back up.

"Oh? What've you been up to?" She politely asked. Was he reading her mind? She hadn't seen him in awhile and sort of missed watching the hunter at work. "I've re-done my home as of reccently.." She turned her head to acknoweladge this bit of info to Foenix as well before the buzzer made Fae jump a little. Nodding as Foenix left, the Aerandir and her were left alone. The shorter-than-he girl bit into her lower lip and stood their awkwardly. Momentarily analizying Osero's height and compared it to her's, she indeed were a couple inches shorter than him. Darn it! Everyone's taller than her by a few inches. But somehow, she was proud of her heigth and watched the gryphons for a moment, not sure what else to say.

Pueblo, however, was wagging her tail hard as she skipped around Nehanda. The horse/swan was probably the only Aerandir she could act this way around- playful. Pueblo skipped behind her connively and nipped at Nehanda's long ear, then quickly dashed to her front knowingly she'll turn around and end up facing away again. But out of nowhere, someone's foot appeared! Collision! She ran right into Osero's foot and tripped over it, but luckily landed on her paws with her chest pressed against the ground and blinked. So much had happened at once and it took her a minute to figure out what had caused her course of falling. Standing up and looking up the sky-scraping fuzzy human, she blinked. He looked just like Rahujo. Shyly, she backed up a little and stared at him. Her small head twitched and her beady black eyes looked him up and down, registering an image into her mind. His tail looked familiar...

In the kitchen, Foenix slid the trays out of the oven and quickly moved the food onto trays. Grabbing up the relevant dips, she hurried back out into the main room, not wanting to miss anything. She was just in time to watch Pueblo as the little gryphon stared up at Osero's tail.

Nehanda eagerly turned to chase Pueblo. When the wolf/owl tripped, however, she hurried forward to make sure her friend was okay. Carefully skirting around Osero's foot this time, she dipped her head to nuzzle at her friend. Pueblo looked okay . . .

"So, Fae, what have you been up to?" Foenix carefully placed the trays on tables. "And help yourself if you're hungry. I brought enough snacks to feed the entire village, as small as it is right now!"

Freya flew over to Fae, where she whispered, "Did Sage come with you? I haven't seen him in a long time."

He smiled slightly, a faint hint of playfulness tugging at his lips. "Hunting, of course," he said. He paused, before elaborating.

"Most of my waking hours have been spent out 'in the field' as you might call it. Lately, I have been rising at night instead of by day, which is why I have seen few people. There's a lot more people to feed on this island now - which means I have a lot more work to do."

Shortly after he finished speaking, one of the little Aerandir tumbling around him crashed into his foot. Taking a careful step back - he was much bigger than they, after all - he looked down to see that the gryphon was alright. She seemed fine, thankfully. Although, she did back away from him after that. That was strange - she had been perfectly happy to run rings around him before. He wondered what he had done.

Fae nodded in understandment and briefly glanced to the side at Foenix. She was holding a tray of goodies. "Yeah, things have been getting more busy around here. I almost enjoy the small community over my home back in Durem.." She paused. "Although, Foenix has been feeding us as well," she grinned to her friend and back to Osero. "She may outdo you!" She jokingly teased, though Fae doubted her words. It was well written in her eyes that she thought otherwise.

Pueblo blinked, dazed, at Osero. She tried to remember if she met him or not, but reconized his face and markings. Her ears lowered shyly, almost looking embaressed from tripping into him as her tail lowered. Did he remember her? She hoped not! Giving a bashful whimper, she wanted to hide. How silly she must have looked like in front of him! But Nehanda was there in her way and bumped into her giving a frantic "Peep!" She quickly scurried under the larger gryphon, probably making quite the scene. Her ears flattened and her little eyes stared through some of Nehanda's feathers at the built-adult. Just something about him was familiar..

Fae oogled the goodies on the tray Foenix held out after awhile. "Mmm, those smell really delicious!" She walked over to inhale their perfume and plucked one off the tray ((which I have no idea what she's taking XD)) and looked over to Osero. "Want one?" She politely offered. Bitting into it, she glanced back to Foenix. "My house! I was just telling Osero how my rearrangments are coming nicely. Rahujo will be coming over to craft something up for me," she smiled with a mouthful.

Osero grinned suddenly. "That's fine by me. Means I don't need to take so much from the wilds."

As Fae offered him the snacks, he shook his head. "No thank you. Like I said, I already ate."

He paused, studying her for a moment, before replying to her next comment.
"I'm glad to hear. Rahujo is a fine blacksmith - everything that she has ever made for me has lasted very well."

Fae's chin dipped as if a nod were corrupted. She quickly turned from Osero to face Foenix, nibbling on another moresal before the tinge in her cheeks appeared.

Clearing her throat a little, the back of her dark ponytail bobbed and the corner of her bright green eyes glanced to the Aerandir. "Yes, Rahujo is very skilled, let alone kind. She's building a clay chimney outside of my home soas I can prepare larger meals than just tea and stirfry," she grinned weakly.

Osero nodded after a short moment "I see. As I said, I'm sure that she shall do a good job."

He smiled warmly to the two humans.
"Now..I should be getting back. I was just dropping off some smoked fish, which either of you are welcome to take. It was nice to meet you again."

Fae turned around quickly as soon as Osero started to departure, captivating him in her eyes looking more than usually frantic. But once she saw he was only going aslow pace and still looking their way, she smiled and gave a wave. "Hope to see you around!" She called after him sincerely.

As soon as he left, she could feel her toes lowering herself back onto her feet and let her shoulders let loose. Turning back to Foenix, Fae started feeling weary and indifferent. "I think I'm going to head back home too. Thanks for the snacks," she grinned and gave a friendly wave. She would have complimented more, but she was in a hurry now. "Come along, Pueblo," she called for her gryphon as she headed out the door.

As soon as Osero turned around and started to walk off, his tail swept past against her side, and then it dawned on her. She quickly looked down to her own tail, then looked back up sharply. Her ears stood on end and her glassy black eyes started widely open, alert. But before she even noticed he was gone, Fae was now leaving too. Giving an abrute shake, she quickly nuzzled Nehanda in farewell, looked at her, then chased after her keeper.

Alyosha had been working hard. He'd had glass specially (and delicately) imported from the mainland. It had been a hard time organising the shipping of it but with some careful working, and several shaky attempts to fit the large pane onto the small boat which ran to the Islands, he had finally managed to get it here. Sunlight gleamed through to his new room. It was dusty, still, and smelt "new". He'd need to see if Rahujo could help him with some basic things he needed.

At the moment, however, he was distracted by the slowly pervading scent of fish. Smoked fish. Osero must have been by, he guessed, walking through the curtain to the main room and over to the door. He walked down the very short corridor into the main room of the building, heading in the direction of the kitchen.

Orian, uncharacteristicly shy, peeked his head into the main room of the Center. He had somehow lost Fae along the way, and now had to find this Alyosha person on his own. He was still wearing the baggy pants and the shirt Fae had loaned him, and though his face and his one hand was worn and weathered, he looked in much better health after having shaved, and slept and eaten. Seeing someone walk through the main room of the building, he shyly cleared his throught. "Umm. Excuse me? Sir?"

Alyosha looked up, tasty thoughts of fish seeming to recede before him as the stranger spoke.

A stranger. It was unusual for him not to know the people who were on the Island. In fact in recent times it had been more than unusual, it had been trouble. Wary of the last random visitor to the Island he waved vaguely in a manner which might be conferred as a greeting. "Hello. Who are you?" he asked, to the point. It might have been rude but this Island was a nature preservation afterall, not a tourist attraction.

True to her promise, Foenix had allowed Nehanda to herd her toward the Center as soon as they had divested themselves of their luggage. To be honest, this wasn't quite what she had had in mind when she'd suggested relaxing after their long trip. But Nehanda had made it clear that she wanted to visit the Centre and see who was around.

Foenix opened the door and stopped when she nearly ran into a stranger. "Um, hi!" was her startled greeting, as Nehanda, who had not been watching, bumped into her shoulder.

"Ah, umm, Sorry for the intrusion. My name is Orian Ironfist. I, erm, washed ashore on this island, and was told by Miss Fae that someone named Aylosha was the keeper of this reserve? Do you know where i might find him? I wanted to ask him if it would be alright to stay on this island until I managed to figure out where i am, or managed to at least get my feet under me enough to find a place of my own somewhere out there." He gently scuffed one bare foot against the ground. "I can help out around the place. I mean, I'd have to do something in payment if I was going to stay." He quickly closed his mouth, realizing he was rambling. Geh. What was wrong with him today? Well, he guess the shipwrecked part was kinda a stressing factor. He continued to look at the floor as he waited for the other person to answer, blushing a little self conciously.

EDIT: Mumbling an appology, he stepped out of the way of the woman. "i'm sorry miss."

Foenix looked over the stranger's -Orion's- shoulder, and relaxed a bit when she saw Alyosha standing in the doorway to the kitchen. "Afternoon, Aly," she called in greeting.

Orion's little story was certainly interesting, and Foenix now smiled at him in welcome as she slipped past him into the room. Well, he needed help, she certainly had plenty of food and extra equipment she could offer.

Nehanda, in the meantime, had left Foenix's shoulder to fly cautiously around this new person. With a soft merp of interest, she fluttered closer to his arm, sniffling at it with her beak. There was something very different about this person.

Alyosha stood still as he had the questions were volleyed at him. He stood for a moment, trying to organise in his mind all that had been asked.

"I am Alyosha, and I'd rather know a little bit more about you before I just allow you to stay and whether we actually have a need of someone to help out in the first place..."

He paused, looking at the wretched man, standing in what looked like womens clothing - a little too short in the top, a little too tight at the neck.

"Hmm.. " He paused. His eyes appraised the stranger slowly. He didn't seem like much of a threat, no-one in that sort of state could. You never knew though. He'd take the chance, he supposed. "Tea?" he offered. "Perhaps we can talk about this."

Edit: "Hello, Foenix" he called, as the woman walked into the centre.

((Sorry , didn't see you there ^^))
