So that was it, then, Clio gave a hopeful answer and A'cuil was just completely silent as to his question. Heaving a silent sigh, the adolescent decided to accept that no one here currently knew more than anyone else. If someone was holding out information, it was not one of his former pack-mates, for sure. They were all starting with a new slate, and everyone had a chance to become alpha of the new pack. This worried Rebel, though he would hardly admit it. He knew he would not trust whoever was picked as the leader, and to go looking for their lost pack members would be like running around at night with your eyes closed... and ears plugged. And no sense of smell!

Silently agreeing with A'cuil, he nodded. "Before they get the chance to pick an alpha at random, you mean? Or one of the pups steps forward? Yes, we should go back," he said, and one corner of his mouth turned up in a smirk.

After watching the two sure-claws bound off into the forest after the howl, Rouqie had quickly excused herself from Icarus and padded softly after them. The howl was close so she felt no need for speed.

A quick thought crossed her mind that somehow the sure-claws were in league with the Darkness, but she shook it away. A'cuil and Rebel had given her a good feeling, and she wasn't about to start throwing doubt when an Alpha would soon be picked.

She saw the three of them speaking. The source of the howl was a white wolf with marvelous muddy patterns, like a fall river, with leaves swirling in the eddies of the current. She felt a pang of jealousy at her, regretting her own drab coloring but fell back to the task at hand when she noticed A'cuil's distress. Lithely she leaped from her hiding place to address him, trying her best to keep her eyes from wandering over to Rebel's topaz ones. (without much success)

"Hello, White one." She addressed the newcomer first then flicked her gaze to A'cuil. "What's wrong. Did she bring bad news from the mountains?" The thought of darkness made her fur stand on end.

xxxxxClio's eyes were focused on A'cuil, trying to remember the adolescent he was many moons ago, before the pack had gone to fight. Hard had wished that she would be chosen to join the rest of the Sure-Claws in the fight against the darkness, her old mate, however, forbade her from chasing after the darkness that he sought so heavily. Idly she sniffed the air, hoping a scent would distract her from painful memories.

xxxxxA'cuil, as always, gave the best response. Diplomacy was required in such a group of mis-matched puzzle pieces. Aimlessly, she scratched at the dirt fo a moment, somewhat nervous of encountering the rest of the wolves. Still, she began to pad forward, forcing her anxiety down. She peered as Rebel with soft blue-orange eyes, "No tournament has been set up?" She asked, idly remembering the single time a Sure-Claw Alpha had perished and many had taken a step forward.

xxxxxAs the lavender wolfess approached, Clio was amazed by her intricate designs of unearthly purples. She had been so accustomed to the usual dark, brown and muddy colours of the Sure-Claw pack that this sight was rare. A small snort escaped as she realized that the wolf was unable to look away from the intimidating youth. In response to the greeting, she bowed her head back, "No, Violet one, I have no news other than there has been no news from those who left." She said with a sad sigh, "I was hoping to find a pack of sorts, or members of my old one." Clio peered at A'cuil first, and then at Rebel to emphasize her decision.

Ceres thinks about what Prince had asked her, and couldn't think of a clear answer. She thought that there were a few good choices for Alpha, but she didn't know those wolves that much. She personally thought that it was a toss up between Rouqie, A'cuil, and Andragos, but she also knew that it was too soon to dismiss others from this list.

Ceres watched Prince play around with a new pup, and watched him bring the new pup over towards her. "Hello young one," she says softly, "I am Ceres, and what is your name?" She looks around to see if any other wolves came with the pup, but could not see any that recently arrived.

User Image He smiled himself at Rebel's quip, although he thought that it might not be too far from the truth. His memory of Icarus, striding back into camp with all the arrogance of a season warrior, came to mind. The wolf's ears pressed themselves back against his skull. No, unfortunately, it was not too far from the truth at all.

His reply to Clio was circumvented by the arrival of Rouqie. After a moment, realizing that their meeting had been breached, A'cuil greeted her with a firm nod. "No news, Rouqie, but action. We were merely discussing with Clio," and here he looked upon her proudly, "what might be done about our Alpha problem. She has reminded me of a method our pack once used to divine a new Alpha: a tournament, where all willing wolves of body and mind may enter." He paused for a moment, both letting the idea sink in and remembering that tourny. He had been too young to enter, but he remembered that his father had. He had been so wrathful - and so very broken in body - when he had finally been cut out of the running. It had taken him months to heal.

But the mountain wolf decided not mention that. If anyone wanted the responsibilities of Alpha, it was well that they have a fight for them.

Tiki looked up, Andragos was calling her. She padded over to him and the blue wolf. Tiki sat down and looked curiously at him. She looked out of the corner of her eye to looked at the blue male, then she turned her attention back to Andragos.

Rouqie nodded solemnly. "That sounds like a good idea. But where to even begin? I've never ever heard of such a thing." She swatted at a fly with her tail, this conversation was making her irritable, most because she was worried for the future of this new group of wolves.

Another thing which worried her, was the way the Sure-Claws acted so exclusively, obviously favoring those of their own pack. She remembered A'cuil mentioning dividing this pack, and the idea seemed very plausible, despite its distastefulness to her.

Amaterasu watched as the colorful female- who she now knew was called Tiki- was called away by a darkly-colored wolf. She wondered if she should follow, but then decided she'd rather not. It might get her into a long conversation, and she wouldn't be able to take a nap due to Issun's absence.

Ammy looked around for something to keep her occuppied. There- a pink she-wolf was talking to a pup who had wandered out of the forest alone. She walked over to her and sat down without saying anything.

User Image"Hello Tiki." Andragos grinned, "Please meet Indra. My brother of the Haven pack. How was the hunt of your pheasant?" He questioned politely. "Its a great gift to be able to talk to the birds, the strange blue one is... well strange. He is very bright." And slowly turned to Indra, "Tiki is one of the first wolves I met here. Fairyn, Kora, and Ceres are the others. Speaking of which," He looked back at Tiki, "Have you see her?"

Tiki looked at Indra, "Pleased to meet you."
"No, I havent seen her," Tiki replied, searching the clearing for the female.
"Was she with Kora?" Tiki asked, looking around for the young she-wolf.

Kora wondered where A'cuil had gone, but judging from the strange, unfamiliar howl it was most likely a Sure-Claw thing. If that was the case, she knew she wouldn't be welcome. She was still looking for Faiyrn, but hadn't had any luck. She saw that the strange new wolf with the disk had gone over to sit next to Ceres, and that Tiki had gone to talk with 'Dragos.

She trotted up to Tiki. "Have you seen Faiyrn?"

User ImageTaki lay curled up in the shade watching them all, before closing her eyes. The day was warm and her thoughts drifted to the strange male who smelled of the night. Herne. He was so different and he seemed edgy. Perhaps it was because he was alone usually.

Rolling an ear to the sound of an approaching wolf, Rebel turned his head and his eyes immediately locked on Rouqie's. His own eyes widened slightly in surprise at finding her watching him so closely, and he had to suppress the urge to look around to see if there was some amazing thing behind him. Rebel had noticed this she-wolf in the clearing from before, and they had shared more than a few side glances, but he had never heard her name. And then A'cuil mentioned it: Rouqie. Rebel looked back at his former pack mates, tilting his head slightly as one of them mentioned a tournament to choose the alpha. He had heard of such things growing up in the mountains, legends and stories from the older wolves, mostly. But he was much too young to remember anything directly.

"You start with all the wolves pairing up to fight one-on-one," he explained, after a long silence. "Then the victors are called to battle, and so on, until there's just one left." Then, throwing caution to the wind, he gave Rouqie a wink. "It's the Sure-Claw way of deciding things. Violent, but honorable." Now he was mimicking his old teachers. He had heard so much about honor and the thrill of the fight in his youth that he was confident in his abilities to paint an accurate picture of his old pack. He didn't care that he was in the presence of two other Sure-Claw. His words were true.

User ImageThe pup plopped down into a sitting position, his tail wagging lightly behind him. "I'm Dekel," he barked, looking over her fur. It was interesting how she had little flowers flowing across it and he couldn't help but wonder if the one by her ear was part of it as well. Before he could inquire about it, though, another female came and joined them. He looked at her, eying the contraption on her back, and then his curiosity got the better of him. "What's that?" he said, using his nose to point at it. "Don't the flames hurt?"

Amaterasu was debating weather or not to speak or sit in silence and wait for a familiar face to turn up when a small pink and brown pup started eyeing Divine Retrebution. "That is my weapon against the Darkness, little one, Divine Retrebution." she said in her soft, quieter-than-normal voice.

She thought about his second question, as she had never considered that the flames might burn her. In fact, they were only mildly warm, and were soothing when they licked her back.

"No, but my enemies might tell you differently."
