Kanti laughed and raced after him, enjoying the feeling of her paws crunching through the snow and the wind through her fur.

Sanoskue laughed with her, happy to have someone as wonderful as her as his mate.

As they ran, the wind swept a strange smell across Kanti’s nose, a scent she knew all to well. “Sanoskue, stop!” she yelped, surging forward and tackling him. They rolled to a stop at the very edge of a pit that held sharpened stakes in the bottom. Kanti whimpered softly. “Sanoskue, are you all right?” she asked shakily, staring at the pit in terror.

"Yeah, I'm fine." He said, gently nudging her away from the pit. "Thanks, I would have run straight into that if it weren't for you."

Kanti whimpered softly, trembling slightly as she licked Sanoskue’s muzzle. “I know,” she whined. “You could’ve been killed.”

Sanoskue rested his head ontop of hers, "It's alright...come on, we should leave this place before the humans show up."

Kanti followed, this time paying better attention to their surroundings. Luckily, there didn’t seem to be any more traps around as they made their way around the outskirts of the village.
