A mile hmm? I'll bring the bucket.- What do we do now then? It's too dark to see an entrance from here. *The bats spun around Evza a moment, then back on their own, looking around almost frantically*
Just as thought... Nowhere to hide... Nowhere to run.

'I don't even want to know about the bucket. We could go somewhere else though. At least until it's safer to come back. If that's even possible.'

How about the room with all the beds? It was warm and cozy there. We're here for information... It doesn't appear that things around here become safer. We should get what we can, and leave.

'I mean, safer as in when there's no dead bodies, blood and possibly a deranged killer hiding about. We don't know who set off that flare. What if someone's still watching? We could try and get to the Citadel via a different route, go to it from a different angle.'

It seems the base is hexagonal, at least from this side. A pair of guards on each vertex. The sides are likely equally guarded, though perhaps there is another way. Can we get to the top, or beneath it somehow? ~VMK

'I could get us onto the roof. Although I'm not sure about teleporting a swarm of bats. You might have to change back.'

'Hey, don't look at me like I'm dinner,' she joked, with a semi nervous laugh. Grabbing hold of both her companions, she carefully teleported them into the roof of the Citadel.

*The trio appeared atop the Citadel, on a large flat roof made of cobblestone. In front of them was an oddly large man, standing with his back to them. A crimson cloak waved about in the wind from his back*... This doesn't bode well. ~VMK

Evza bit her lip, trying to stay as quiet as possible. 'Perhaps we should head elsewhere for now...' she whispered, praying the figure would not turn around.

*A massive rip in space appeared on the planet surface, depositing the Area 21 Security Golem Vault onto its frozen grounds. Setting out to the darker side, the golem swiftly moved effortlessly toward her given target*
She made short work of the long distance, having landed a few kilometers north of the last position used by MK and crew. Deciding to go big or go home, once she was out of range of the other settlements Vault opened her operating panel and initiated the growth routine. Growing to ten times her original size, she closed the distance to the south side of the planet, the whole already in an almost pitch dark state. As she lumbered on and approached the ridge, the tower that once loomed hardly seemed more than her own height.
Guardians at the tower quickly took note of the monstrosity that approached them, and they took to arms. Those with cryokinesis attacked first, sending waves of ice spears and frozen projectiles. The ice was for them sadly no match for the earthen armor of the approaching golem. Vault grew closer and closer, walking alongside the ridge, holding her arms out in a defensive position as she continued her approach.
The near side of the tower seemed to melt away close to the top, revealing a large canon. No sooner than the ice had revealed it, it fired its payload; a gigantic fireball. Vault stopped and gave the ground a solid stomp with one foot, cracking the ice sheet and lifting up beside her foot. Shoving her foot under, the side of the sheet lifted up further and defended her from the fireball, almost half of the sheet melting from the fiery blow.
Vault stepped out from the melting shield and started running toward the tower. The canon fired off three more times, and Vault artfully dodged the first two, taking the third blow sharply to the shoulder. The armor that was struck nearly went molten on contact but she kept on.
The hole that had revealed the canon sealed back up and the group of soldiers that surrounded the base aggressively charged toward the golem. Together, they formed waves of attack projectiles, consisting of each base element. None alone seemed to make much trouble for Vault, though her armor continued to heat up with each fire wave that passed.
A few stood as one and fired mixed attacks, to which Vault finally fought back with gigavolts of electricity. Gigantic boulders rose up from beneath the ice, hurtling into the sky and tethered on arcs of electricity that emanated from her.
The boulders came down with immeasurable force, sending quakes through the frozen landscape and dropping the guardians to their knees. One unfortunate guardian was caught beneath a boulder and his body liquefied on impact. Another just barely dodged the rock but was caught up in the electrical arc and fried to ash.
Releasing the arcs from her, Vault moved forward with no more resistance- from those below. The overlord took notice, and stood ready to defend his tower from the oncoming robotic menace. He stared on at what was before him, and Vault took notice, stopping to stare back and size up the man responsible for everything.
Taking a step back, Vault dropped down into the ridge where the river of blood had been found. Resetting and reversing her growth settings, she reduced to a tenth of her regular size. Summoning up a small rock to perch upon, she cast it into the blood river and used micro volts of electricity to create a static bubble, heading upstream unnoticed and into the tower.*

*The blood river formed into a fountain within the center of the tower, though it's source could not directly be found. It seemed to flow in both directions from the base of the tower itself. No matter its source, Vault leaped out from the fountain within the tower. The interior seemed as if it were constructed of Emerald and Jade. Two spiral staircases lined the walls, and a secondary pair swirled around the blood fountain. There were 5 layers of flooring up the height of the tower, each with different types of guardians and weaponry. Vault rushed to a side stair and rose up unnoticed, taking note of each layer as she passed.
The ground layer itself had no guards, but was instead ornately decorated. The first floor up looked like a lobby, with three or four guards walking around in a semi-relaxed state. The second floor was a barracks, with many beds organized around a central pillar. The third floor was an armory, a wide array of weapons and armor throughout and hanging from various racks and displays. The fourth floor was a medium assault chamber. There were 8 Ballista along the walls, though no window was present. The fifth floor was the heavy assault deck, with 4 heavy canons at the walls. From what Vault already knew and looking on to the guardians present, their projectiles seemed to be elemental based on who was manning it.
At the top of the stairs remained an opening, and Vault arrived on the roof. Much to her dismay, the overlord who stood alone atop it had sensed her presence, and stood there waiting when she climbed up. Without even a word, Vault seemed to lift into the air. The overlord was waving his arms about, lifting her by Kineses. Unable to at all resist, Vault merely stared on to her captor, trying to quickly calculate the chance of escape. It was quickly unnecessary however, as he launched her off the tower like a canonball, sending the golem careening back to whence she came, and even striking right back through the portal to Gaia*

'Jesus,' Asphyxia muttered, partly from the cold, and partly from the sight of the tower. She started to frantically rub her arms. Kelissa appeared behind her, with the rest of the Akumoni emerging from the portal afterwards, and gave her daughter a hug. 'Here goes nothing,' Paris said to himself, as he stared up. His expression was blank, belying the nervousness he felt inside.
