Zed pressed a button on his uplink and the Aiolos, still cloaked, floated overhead.
"It's right above us... you still got the jetpack?"
Zed held his jetpack's controller.

Koko looked up at where she believed the Aiolos to be, leaning herself against the wall to take the weight off her leg. When she heard what Zed said she spread her arms, indicating herself.
"Errr, do I look like I have the jetpack with me? I didn't want to carry extra baggage, would've slowed me down."
She rolled her eyes, sighing to herself.

Zed sighed then put his arms around Koko, pressing the jetpack's trigger so that they floated upwards to the ship.
He misjudged the position of the open cargobay door and hit his head on the bottom of the ship.
"Ouch!... Dammit!"
Zed flew up into the cargobay, still holding onto Koko as they landed.

As the two flew up to the Aiolos, Koko wondered for a moment whether she'd ever stop having these strange reactions to Zed's touch. She was brought back to reality abruptly when the pilot hit his head; she winced slightly & cringed, knowing that it probably hurt him.
Ouch....
When they both landed Koko made no attempt to pull away from the pilot. She was having to lean against him, as pain was shooting up her leg everytime she tried to put weight on it.

"Well, theres some medical supplies somewhere on this thing, i'll take you to the crews quarters then go get em"
Zed held Koko up and walked her to her bed in the crew's quarters. He set her down gently then went off to search for the medical supplies that were somewhere in the cargobay.

Koko sat down & carefully propped up her leg, cutting away the strips of material she'd tied round it with her combat knife. Blood was still spurting out of the entry wound from the bullet & the mercenary knew she'd have to get the object out of her flesh - else it could get infected. Gritting her teeth she used the tip of her knife to cut a few incisions into her thigh, opening the wound further so that she could try to find the bullet. She groaned & clashed her teeth together as pain surged through her body. Soon, a glint of metal could be seen in amongst the bloody torn flesh of her leg.

Zed rushed back into the crew's quarters and dropped the medical supplies beside Koko.
"Looks like you know what you're doing..."
Zed wasn't fond of blood and gore, but he sat beside Koko while she worked on getting the bullet out.

Koko was biting down on her tongue to stop herself yelling out as he manouvered her blade around. Soon she had to drop the blade however, & then exhaled slowly.
"Dammit... I need... something..."
She managed to turn herself towards the supplies, digging around in them & finding a plier-type object. She turned back to her leg & used the pliers to extract the bullet, another spurt of blood coming with it. Placing the metal next to her, she then got to work bandaging her wound. She'd lost a fair bit of blood though & found herself going light-headed; only just managing to tie the bandage before she slumped over.
"Ahh s**t.... my head...."

"looks like you need a rest... oh, don't forget to use the healing laser thing. it's pretty cool... should be able to repair that wound in a few hours. don't ask me how it works."
Zed set up the laser healing device then returned to the cockpit.

Koko was about to stand up & go after Zed, but ended up slumping over again. Slipping in & out of consciousness she just barely registered that she was trouserless & the pain in her leg seemed to be lessening somewhat. She managed to regain some of her senses & decided to lie still, sighing. She could use this time to think about things.
I don't get him.... Is he messing with me? Or does he feel guilty because of his fiance? I mean, I wasn't going to do anything, he was the one who kissed me first! Maybe if he did something? Ah, I dunno.... I guess I should back off for a while, get on with other things. At least I managed to kill one of the bastards today too. But then I go & get myself shot, great. At least Zed got me outta that I suppose....

Zed took control of the Aiolos and landed it back up in the sleeper ship's docking area.
He stood up and took his helmet off then walked back to check on Koko.
"How ya feelin'?"

Koko swivelled her head in Zed's direction, grinning a little.
"Ah I'm fine, it'll take more than this to keep me down!"
To prove her point, she propped herself up on her elbows then swung her legs over the edge of the bed she was sat on. She winced a little bit but hid the pain quickly.
"See? I'm fine."

Zed leant on the doorframe, then shook his head and laughed a little.
"Great. Oh yeah, that laser thing is fine when it's going, but like 15 seconds after you use it you'll be in agony... but you've already done that bit right?"

Koko looked down at her leg, shaking ever so slightly.
"Ah, I've had worse.... Only a single bullet.... besides, I can't just lie here. I've got work to do, stuff to fix & things to shoot!"
Inhaling deeply, she pushed herself off the bed, keeping her injured leg off the ground; one of her hands rested on the bed as she supported herself. The mercenary made herself stand up, limping forward a little way.
"Right, what's the next thing on the ship that needs repairing? I'd like to get her in peak condition."

"Koko, you have three seconds till it hits."
Zed prepared a painkiller shot and waited.
Three seconds passed and a thud followed by banging on the wall could be heard around the corner from where Zed was standing. Koko had been limping along when she collapsed.
Zed walked over to Koko and injected the painkiller.
"You'll be fine in a minute or so."
