Vincent
Vincent closed the door, his lips burning with her touch, he slid across the truck lid and then slid into the driver seat. He turned the key and pressed the ignition button. The five hundred fifty twin turbo charged engine roared to life. He flicked the headlights on and the flipped the safety cover off the traction control. He knew just about everything on this car. It was his dream vehicle, the car he was going to buy when he was done with his dealing. He flipped the traction control switch to off, dropped the car into first and hit the accelerator. It was like blasting off on the shuttle launch, well that was all he could equate it to. The lightweight car blasted out of the alley with a roar, he hit the handbrake and forced the beast into a sharp right, honks telling him he had cut in front of someone. He hit the accelerator again and they were off.
"Wow this is a rush. Everything I thought it would be." He turned the GPS on, it didn't come with one, so this one was a dash mounted model.
"Let's see here, how bout Indian since you don't like fish." The route was mapped and he gunned the car. The Indian restaurant was only a mile away, but he shot past and went four miles before hitting the e-brake and pulling off a hundred and eighty degree turn. The GPS mapped a new route, but Vincent overrode this mapping one that would take them through the back alleys and winding streets.
"Say it should take us fifteen minutes at the speed limit. I say four." He gunned the car and they were off again.

Јoʀδan ×I never promised you that I would not be that guy... Jordan was feasting in style, across the road from Sal and Vas, with his Chinese takeout and car with no lights. He was not even paying them as much attention as he should be giving them. Naomi was not with them and Sal was a worse catch than her. No, he was making sure that nothing happened without his knowledge of it. He had sent the names back to Headquarters and expected something back by dawn. In the meantime, he was keeping a close eye on all of those who were directly affected by Naomi and the Cafe. Plus, the hotel was too far away and then end up being boring even if he did manage to get over that hurdle. [I apologize for short posts.] ...This is not my apology.×

"Be back here in an hour and a half. Don't be late, or your job is mine." The man smiled and shook his head nervously. Vassili proffered his arm to Sal and walked her into the dazzling restaurant. It was a five star affair where you could easily drop a thousand dollar bill. He had gotten a booth in a secluded corner. He offered his name, the host grabbed two menu's and showed them to the both. There was a five piece string group in the center of the place, Vassili hardly noticing, his eyes glued on Sal. He helped her slide in and then slid in next to her.
"Bottle of your finest red please." The host bowed away and Vassili didn't open the menu. He knew what he was getting, all he waiting for was her.
"Well you may be fabulous all the time, I'm not. Just a drifter with a lot of money and no one to spend it on." He chuckled, one hand resting on her leg. His fingers lightly sliding over the dress, enough pressure for her to feel it underneath.

Vincent Vincent heard her and knew she was sorta enjoying the ride, but slower would be better. He flicked the traction control on and set a dial to the lower three hundred twenty horsepower setting. He cruised out of the alleys and onto the main drag.
"Sorry. I always get a bit itchy in a fast car, especially my dream car." He shifted into third, and intertwined his finger into hers. They were at least five minutes at the cruising speed.

Naomi "Sometimes the idea of love should just leave me alone." Naomi's stomache stopped doing loop-d-loops as Vincent slowed down a notch. She nodded understandingly at his explanation for the need for speed but stiffened at his last question. Of course, it would be weird to think about her being involved with anything remotely this high risk. Naomi sighed and began to tell the boy her story.
"My father worked with a company. It is still unknown what exactly is their function but while growing up, it was believed that he worked security." She paused here, not sure what to tell him and not to say. As her thoughts reassembled, she continued, "There was something that my mother had stumbled upon and instead of confronting her about it immediately, he was ordered to marry her, get close and when she refused to give up whatever the information was, he shot her - point blank range. Sal witnessed it as well as his immediate suicide. Anyway, the company figures that I know about what my mom was working on but I don't. They've been tracking Sal and me for years but never got this close before now. Somehow my mother knew how dangerous it was going to get so she managed to buy me the knife and get a deal in court for my sister and I to live with her sister in case of her death. I just wished I knew what the hell they wanted from me."
The woman sighed. She had purposefully left out the part about Jordan, the guy who she had once cared for. He was the man that had chosen work over her and made it a death trap for any man that came after him. Except for Vincent. The thought made Naomi smile faintly and she squeezed his hand briefly before separating her fingers from him. "Does that answer your question or does it evoke loads more?" Vassili
Vassili pondered her questions, it was an interesting answer he had though. A story fifty plus years running, this new chapter just starting. He'd give the short version.
"Do you know what you have to do to make a successful hit. You have to observe, study and maintain. You have to see your target at the best, worst, and most evil. You have to study the most disgusting of habits, the oddest and the ones that make you queasy. You have to maintain you sense of morality while doing this. I was the Soviet, and then Russian governments hit-man. Thirty plus targets under my belt. I grew distant from the people, why? Cause I saw what they could do, what they were, how evil and materialistic they were. I'd give you an example, but you are about to eat. So I left. I vanished into thin air. A hermitage into the forest and lived there ten years. That's why I was a drifter and alone. Why I didn't miss human contact." He was looking away from her while he said this. Then he turned his face back to hers.
"I had forgotten about the good humans could do, the good from this." His fingers intertwined hers and he squeezed gently. He brushed a little strand of hair from her face quickly, a movement faster than a blink of her eye. He realized he had forgotten for one moment how different he really was.
"I was engineered to think differently, move and react differently. The reason this seems so natural to me, because it is, I absorb knowledge at a pace ten times faster than any human mind and then lock it into place. This haunts me too. There was a time when I slept. I had nightmares and then violent nightmares. The faces, all of them haunted my sleep. Another reason to leave humanity." He sighed heavily as he gazed into her eyes. He forced himself to blink at the same rate she did. He only needed to blink once every ten minutes.
"I mastered my meditative trance. What keeps me fresh a vital. Mastered my own mind, well mostly. I have found that those engineers lied. They didn't get rid of my emotions, not all of them. Locked them away is a better, and I'm glad. Means I can integrate better. Still you'll notice one day, everyone will, everyone always does. Why hasn't he aged a day, why is he still like the day I met him. Well I age, a hundred times slower than you." He laughed stiffly.
"Another excuse to leave, another pathetic excuse to be alone."
