D u s k p a w“Never give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.”___________________________ Duskpaw shook her head, her eyes filled with fear, yet determination. “No. It tried to, though. Like I said, I bat it to death with my paws and broke its neck against a rock...It's sick, isn't it?” Duskpaw looked at the rabbit, her hackles rising with anger. Could more prey be like this?

ooc: ugh, I'm just gonna write as both kits for a while. Switching is exhausting.
bic: Oakkit squeezed her eyes shut, worried what Duskpaw said could be true. Softkit rolled his eyes at her. She could be so silly sometimes. Galespirit had come over to talk to Duskpaw, so Softkit sat his tired rump down, doing his best to breath evenly. Something was going on, and so he needed to pay attention so he could figure out what it was.
Oakkit, on the other hand, was still busy trying to keep her eyes where they belonged: in her head. Her nose twitched at the disgusting smell coming off of the rabbit.
"Galespirit, Duskpaw, do you think there are other sick rabbits? I don't like the way they smell." Oakkit mewed.
Softkit was listening to the two cats talk. Prey attacking a cat! That wasn't good at all.
"What would happen if it scratched Duskpaw? Will she be safe?" His heart was cold. There was just a wrongness about it that he couldn't place, being so young. He understood a lot for a kit, but he was still just that: a kit, and kit's are prown to excessive worry as well as oblivion.

❧ ♨[Shuddering, Galespirit nodded.] "I know exactly what this is," he murmured. "I have listened and sensed the other clans being affected by the same thing...I didn't want to say anything though, because I would be revealing other Clan's weaknesses..."
[He sighed unhappily.]
"As long as you're alright," he murmured with relief. [He rested his blue eyes on Duskpaw, and batted her ear affectionately.]
Turning to the small kits, he said, "She'll be fine, as long as she wasn't bitten. No need to worry about the rabbits, we'll figure something out."
"At least now we can present this to our Clan without worrying about other Clan weaknesses!" he said, turning to Duskpaw. "I wouldn't have been able to say anything without proof."
[He nodded, halfly to himself.]
"Good job," he praised. "You can present this to Willowstar, and feel free to tell her that I wasn't there. I deserve whatever punishment she feels I need."
[He purred happily, as if looking forward to punishment.]
"I am sorry about that," he added, "But I was out tryint to teach Dicekit and Dewburst somethig...very important."
[He blinked. Dicekit...it seemed his words had reached her. That made him happier than anything. But now it was time he shifted his attention to his apprentice.]
"The problem is resolved, though, and I will pay more attention to you from now on...I promise."
[He rested his tail-tip on her shoulder reassuringly. He meant it.]
"And I never break my promises," he added.

"Oh! there's a moonpool meeting tonight. we need to start heading over there. ill tell you about that next time." i told her reassuringly while getting up. "come! ill go tell willowstar really quick." i padded to where willowstar was and said, "icepaw and I are heading to the moonpool. just wanted to remind you. bye!" i headed back over to icepaw. "okay, let us go." [Icepaw nodded and then followed her mentor out of the camp and to Moonpool.]

D u s k p a w“Never give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.”___________________________ Duskpaw's spirit seemed to lift as Galespirit spoke to her. She noted that he smiled at the mention of being punished. Even though he offered for her to say that he wasn't watching her, she'd still lie to Willowstar about it. He'd done a good deed for the Clan when he spoke to Dicekit, and she wouldn't want him to be punished for something that ended up benefitting the Clan. Duskpaw felt her skin flush with heat as he said that he would pay more attention to her. “T-thank you, Galespirit,” she mewed softly and turned to Oakkit and Softkit, “I think there are more sick rabbits where this one came from. If it's a sickness like greencough, it'll spread...And Softkit, I think that I'd only get sick if the rabbit bit me...But it didn't, so don't worry about it.” Duskpaw's eyes flickered happily at Softkit and Oakkit. Kits didn't need to worry about such serious things.

(I'll roleplay as Smokefoot to get the madness started so someone needs to kill him later, who wants to?)
Smokefoot looked at the fresh-kill pile looking for the rabbit Duskpaw brought in earlier. He looked over to the leaders den and found he had brought in the leaders den. He padded up and stood in front of the rabbit which was behind Duskpaw and bent down to take a bite.

"Oh, OK" They both said at the same time. The words of older cats had that calming effect on the innocent hearts of kits.
"Back to the fresh kill pile?" Oakkit asked her brother, suddenly loosing interest in Duskpaw, Galespirit, and the rabbit (which was right now being eaten by some mousebrained cat. Couldn't they SMELL it? Sheesh. What if they started to smell like that too? She shuddered at the thought.)
Softkit was slow to reply, looking from Duskpaw to the rabbit, as if he really wasn't sure everything was alright, that Galespirit's words didn't really match up with what he already knew. But then again, what did he really know? For a moment he allowed himself to feel what his sister was feeling, to have the light and carefree attitude.
"Sure. I'd like that," he mewed, laughing when Oakkit's eyes lit up.
"OK!"
And they were off to their play ground, Oakkit to dictate who ate what and Softkit to keep her company.
The pain in his chest suddenly flared up, cuasing him to stumble and gasp for breath. Oakkit turned around to look worriedly at her brother. He flicked his tail at her, doing his best to keep his voice steady and light as he mewed,
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me! You've got a clan to feed!"
Oakkit did her best to put her worry out of her mind, and Softkit did his best to help her.

SweetMoon listened to the conversation that her kits had gotten into. *Sick rabbits they say...* She thought to herself. She looked to the skies. *I wonder... I wonder if StarClan has sent us a sign...* She thought. Suddenly she saw Softkit fall over and padded over to her kit. "Are you alright?" She asked. She licked her kit between the ears and purred comfortingly.

"Of course, mother," Softkit mewed, picture of innocence. It was enough to have Oakkit always on his case, but to worry his mother, too?
"I'm just playing with Oakkit. She's telling everyone what to eat. She's having a lot of fun." He reached up to lick Sweetmoon's chest.
Oakkit stood a ways off. "He hurts, momma. It's his chest. Sometimes he can't breath." Her voice was quiet, almost indecernable, but Softkit heard it. He hissed at her, angry that she had to say something.
"I'm fine."
His gaze was on the ground between his paws. "Can we go play now?"

SweetMoon looked at Oakkit for a moment. *Breathing problem?* She thought to herself. She bent down and licked her kit in between the ears and purred. "Alright. Just be careful." She said.

"Thank you, mother," Softkit said quickly, brushing past Sweetmoon and making sure he gave Oakkit a wide berth. Oakkit sighed, glancing at her mother.
"I don't much feel like playing anymore. Can we go back to the nursery?" She was hurt by Softkit's reaction. She didn't hurt like he did, so maybe he shouldn't hurt. Didn't he want to not hurt? Didn't he want help?
All she wanted to do was help her brother, who was now sitting right in front of the fresh-kill pile, glaring at anyone who was in sight. She sighed. No one would want to eat anything with him glaring at them like that, and all because she'd made him mad...
Her game was no completely and utterly destroyed, and, with it, her sense of adventure. Her entire body seemed to droop.
"I'm sorry, Softkit," she murmured, kneading the ground with her paw and sniffling.

SweetMoon saw Oakkit's reaction. She licked Oakkit between the ears and purred comfortingly. "It's alright." She mewed to the kit. "Dont worry. I'll talk to Softkit and we will see what is wrong. Alright?" She said comfortingly. "Come now. you can return to the nursery if you wish or you could go bother an apprentice to show you around." She said flicking her tail at the apprentice's den and at emberpaw.

"To live is to slowly be born."_____________________________Emberpaw_____________________________[Emberpaw sighed irritably. It seemed everyone wanted to see Willowstar now...training would have to wait for another day.
He padded up to the line that was forming for the leader. He noticed Galespirit there, and his pelt bristled angrily. Galespirit was proving to be very popular...Emberpaw felt as if he was being outshined. He wanted to be known for his calm advice and gentle spirit as well...
He snorted. He was unable to talk to anyone- he was so shy...how was he going to become known? Sighing, he sat down, tucking his paws under him and thinking.
At least Galespirit hadn't put him in too bad of a mood. Despite the loneliness this day was proving to have, he was a little content somehow. But he wished someone would talk to him...
He scolded himself inwardly for acting like such a kit and being so needy.]
