Lee looked around and sighed. ugh, a stupid group thing She had to admit the enviroment was intimidating, but why couldn't she just look around and get acclimated? She didn't want to be tied to someone and have to drag them along, or have to depend on them. If I can't even take care of myself here, then I might as well give up she thought. She scanned the small crowd once more with her piercing eyes. Who should I chose? Maybe I'll just hang behind and wait until someone asks me.

Torruun looked at Hunter and nodded before Shiro gave his speech on morale. Torruun decided that he would figure out Hunter's strengths and how much he would intervene in combat. Still, Torruun felt it his place as a support role rather than to lead in combat, and he would be sure to tell Hunter that after him and the other SeeDs were done debating on just how much inanity was necessary to keep everyone happy.

Hunter decided to turn his attention back tords Torruun "well I guess I'm glad that you accepted to be my partner for this lession and I think we will do just fine" Hunter was thinking who should be there main lead since Hunter can fight from both close and long range with his katana and gunblade so Hunter turn back tord Torruun "So Torruun, what kind of a style of battle do you fight in, I can fight from both long and close range depending on the weapon I use"

"Erm... I'm better as support. I'm a magic user." Torruun replied to Hunter. Torruun thought that Hunter would probably take the lead considering his experience on the battlefield. However, Torruun still felt uneasy about looking for monsters to kill. But, he put it out of his mind again, and told himself in his head; "Nothing's going to happen."

"A magic user huh well that will give use the advantage, I can use magic myself but I'm not much of a magic user and mainley relies on his own skills in battle, now the question is are you better with support magic such as healing magic or offensive magic?" Hunter need to more about his partner as much as Torruun would need to now about him so in time of battle they could help each other. Hunter was still thinking when he notice Torruun was felling a little uneasy "Hey Torruun, take it easy for bit alright and don't worry I'll be the one doing most of the battle and all I need from you is to be able to back me up when I need it"

"I can use a lot of different magic. Support, offense, or status. I have all three at my disposal really. However, I'm not good when it comes to melee. But I guess I don't have to worry about that." Torruun said with a slight laugh. With the knowledge of Hunter's abilities, Torruun's mind began to ease. "He's right. You do need to relax." Zil said to him in his head, which would have embarrassed him had she not been turned into a guardian force.

"Well thats good then and listen Torruun I can take care of every monster we face and I may be a SeeD but I'm not invinsible I'm as much himan as everyone else so I have my limits" Hunter stop for a minute to think about what he was saying as if he had the experiance to tell a new member everything he knows as a loud ring banged in his head Hunter knew it was his guardian force Bahamut FURY "Now Hunter, don't you think you could make the kid anymore uneasy then what he already is?"

"I don't want you to kill every single thing we find. Isn't the point of this trip for the students like myself to get first hand opportunity with these monsters? And besides that, we should probably see if we can study them without engaging them in combat." Torruun said to Hunter before Zil called him a nerd within his own mind, which annoyed him as much as everyone suddenly paying too much attention to him did.

Shiro was still grinning as he looked around, wondering who he would end up paired with. Not to many candidates to choose from it would seem, to be honest not many people seemed that interested at the moment which was odd considering their current situation. Who wouldn't be pumped for a chance to smack around some arctic monsters? As he looked about he did notice one particular girl who seemed like she really wasn't enjoying herself and was scanning the crowd carefully. He really didn't know this person but he decided to walk up to her and see if maybe she wanted to partner up. "Hey there, names Shiro." He said with a smile as he approached her, hand extended. "Got a partner yet? I'm always interested in seeing battle styles other than my own."

At first Lee didn't see Shiro approach her, she was lost, deep within her thoughts. "Oh!" She said once she realised his offer. "Um, okay, sure." she half mumbled. She hoped that he wasn't serious about the battle style bit. I mean, who would want to just learn 'battle styles'? Isn't one enough? "Name's Lee." she said, can't let your partner call you 'what's-your-face'. She still stood stiff and straight, waiting for the rest of the class to find their partners, so that they could get on with the lesson. Then she decided that it was probably rude or some other thing, so she loosened up a little and gave him a half smile. "Um, I've never really done any sort of partner type...work." she said, trying to find a word close enough for her description. "So if I'm kinda taking over, don't think much of it and just say something so I can let you get in a few whacks." Lee wasn't to proud of her limp excuse of a conversation starter. But it was the only thing other than her problems that she could think of.

"Nam'es Shiro, nice to meet you Lee." Shiro simply smiled, pretty much oblivious to the awkwardness of her ice breaker. "Heh heh, I know what you mean. I'm not exactly team material either, my first instinct is to blaze into a fight and start beating the living daylights out of whatever lay before me. If we're lucky there'll be plenty of monster for the two of us." Still smiling Shiro took a few steps back and took his metal staff out from it's holder on his back, spinning it above his head before jamming it into the ground. Giving it a few light jabs to ensure it was good and stable. "Besides, I'm sure we'll do just fine." He said calmly as he backed up a little more before suddenly bursting forward and upwards, landing on the tip of the staff with one foot, holding his other leg up as close to his body as he could. Hands in front of his chest and eyes closed as he took a meditative stance Shiro continued to smile and peeked down at Lee through one eye. "Don't stress to much about it, when it comes to teamwork out on the field, even if you've never done it before, you'll know what to do. Sure it has to be refined with practice and such, what skill doesn't, but you'll find that your able to work well enough with another so long as you aren't actively fighting it and yourself. But maybe I'm just simple, who knows? Ha ha ha." Shiro simply laughed a bit, almost losing his balance because of it.

What, is he trying to show off? Lee thought to herself. These peoples ways are so weird. We are in military training! This isn't playtime. But she decided to stay out of Shiro's business, she was probably just as different to them as they were to her, so she really couldn't judge. She took out her crossbow and some of her throwing knives. Though unfortunately, she only had the quiver that she made in haste and her old, worn set of knives. Just another reminder to get stronger so I can reclaim my father's arrows and my good knives.
She started to get ready to use her weapons; checking the sight on her bow, getting used to the weight of the knives. She then simply looked at them. The knives and bow were made in her country, an so they had traditional designs etched into them. There were ones for a safe voyage, strength in battle, and she even remembered that her mother's bow had ones for fertility and safe pregnancy etched into it. Lee wasn't really superstitious, but she had a somewhat uneventful journey to the garden, so she liked to think they helped. But now her mind was drifting again, going back to the days before she was exiled. And all because of a stupid technicality... The cold was starting to sink in just a little, so she pulled her light jacket closer to her. Once I get moving, I'll be warmer. she said, preventing herself from thinking about her past any longer.

Shiro remained still, meditating deeply on the pole. The key to meditation is clearing the mind and eliminating all distractions, not exactly easy but for someone as simple minded as Shiro it came a little easier. Preparation was important for any mission, even if it was just training. The link between the mind and the body is vital, the more in sync one is with the other the quicker the response time for your actions. In battle seconds are precious, and when properly synced one's body can move before you even tell it to, for the highway from your eyes to your brain to your nerves and muscles are clear. Focus is everything, focus is equal to power. And both can only be obtained through intense exercise and meditation! The only problem was that meditation was boring. "Uhg, when are we gonna get going?" Shiro frowned, hopping from one leg to the other as it was starting to get tired. He gave Lee a quick glanced and noticed her readying her weapons. "Ah, a ranged fighter it seems. That's pretty cool, I couldn't shoot anything to save my life. But I guess that means we got a good balance going on, just try not to hit me while I'm up close and personal with the monsters." He said jokingly, starting to get bored again. He'd have to find a more interesting way to meditate soon.

Hunter sat on the ground to get his mind set on the lesson as he cleared his mind of everything but the task at hand "Hopefully we can start soon, Torruun why don't you join me in meditation as I learn this from Shiro to help focus your mind" Hunter try to get a clear thought on what kind of monster they could be facing here in Trabia as Hunter hoped they will get to face a few Blue Dragons

"That sounds good. I could use some time to focus, and calm down my mind." Torruun said jokingly. He then sat next to Hunter, closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Torruun tried to clear his head, and focus, but felt a bit uneasy. As though something were amiss.
