Seika paused and blinked for a few moments after he spoke. 'Eh? Like his brother?' He seemed to over think what she said. It was fine though, it wasn't his fault. That statement was sort of vague and awkward at the same time. Still...if she was going to stay with them, she'd have to be more mindful of her own opinions. Seika would have said something, but he was already taking off. 'Eh...socializing with others proves to be quite difficult. Why the hell would you choose me for this goddamn mission?!' she complained to nobody in particular. Well, it was fine. She wasn't one to ever apologize to somebody, but she would at least consul him about the topic and justify her own mistake. Maybe that was the same thing as well...Seika scoffed and followed quietly after Tatsuya.

User ImageShe followed behind Seika and Tatsuya, keeping an eye on both. San was watching the front, leading the way with Aoiro looking ever more like a little cowboy. But then again, this was a tiny lizard riding a tiny dog, and that didn't happen often. She was astounded at the amount of cave that they had to go through....maybe something would be on the other side that would catch her interest....The smells were new at least. Fresh and stagnant water, mud, rock....everything smelled great....

Four

"I'm going to guess that my sources didn't see Ichi, they might have gotten separated and decided to meet at Cloud seeing how it was one of the two main allied villages they had." Four was actually optimistic, he had to be, if the two genin saw that their leader wasn't keeping his composure over Ichi they would probably be scared as well, and he couldn't have that.

"So we are travelling to Cloud then? That's good...frankly, the sound village gives me the creeps..."

Akira remembered when he traveled to the village for the exams. He could just feel a bad vibe from the place and the Otokage. He was just happy that they wouldn't be spending more time there than necessary.

"However, I did hear there was some kind of trouble in cloud. I don't have anything confirmed, but a friend told me that something big happened there. Maybe you heard something about it from one of your contacts?"

Don't try to live so wise...
Kazuki turned toward Akira in curiosity. "Trouble in the Cloud? When did you hear this? And what kind of trouble there?" Kazuki hoped that the people there were ok. He noticed that Four's voice had a hint of uncertainty. He began to feel nervous about getting to the Cloud now.

Don't cry cause your so right....

"Smart..." She said as the baby Pandas lowered the boxes and spilled the contents on the ground. A plethora of fruits and vegetables in bags presented themselves before her.

User Image Trees.... trees.... some rocks.... bushes.... and oh look- more trees! Oh wow this was boring. Ren would be groaning with aggrivation if he cared enough to register how bored he actually was in his mind. Horray for utter appathy!
Ren just walked along, not really thinking about anything in particular. He occasionally let his mind wander to one topic or another but he only cared to think about one insignificant thing for so long. However, one not-so-insignificant thing his mind kept wandering to was what Eiji and Genji had said. How it would impact him, how it would probably only cause trouble for him and how he was going to have to do what he could to keep suspicions off Mist. Ok, so the Mizukage was a drunk and had a grudge against the now-dead Council leader. Wait, why did she not like him? Well, he didn't really know. That was one piece of gossip the twins had failed to let him in on. He really wasn't much to care for gossip, but when you're confined to a bed for over a month you need something to keep you occupied. Either way, regardless of those things, she wasn't stupid. She wouldn't do something like that... right? He reached over and grabbed the Mist Village headband he had tied around his arm at all times.
A meow from Neko-chan made him turn his head downwards. They locked gazes and started up another of their silent conversations. Ren's gaze said, 'What?'
Neko-chan's stare told him she knew what he was thinking. His insecurities about why he was trying to reassure himself of. Neko-chan had seen the Mizukage too, though only once. But the cat seemed to know about the old woman's inner intentions and knew they were good. All this was conveyed in Neko-chan's eyes. Her finaly message was 'So stop worrying.'
Ren stared down at the cat a moment with a blank expression. Then his eyes said, 'You're right.' He turned his head forward and with that, he knew he really had nothing to worry about other than the unknown. But there was nothing he could do about the unknown, so why worry about it?
Neko-chan haightily turned her head ahead of them too and flicked her tail in one fluid motion that preened, 'Well of course I am.'

User ImageTime seemed to melt away. He wasn't even sure how long he'd been walking, but it was well into the morning. Perhaps it was even noon. Ren had taken out some of the food his mother had given him and ate as he walked. Every few bites, he'd rip off a piece of his jerky and toss it a few steps in front of him for Neko-chan to hunt down and savagely rip apart in her teeth. This provided entertainment for the both of them.
Looking up at the sky, he could actually see the sun. It wasn't blocked out by an impenetrable wall of fog. It was... a bit past noon from the looks of it's position. He knew their trip would take some time, but he wanted to move faster. He pulled the rest of the jerky and stuffed the paper it was wrapped in in his pocket to throw out later. He stuffed one half in his mouth and dropped the rest in front of Neko-chan. "We're runnin' fer a while, a'right?" he told her. Neko-chan meowd in response, letting him know she got the message. Once she'd finished eating, they lept into the trees and ran for it from that point on.
Treking quickly through the trees, they continued and eventually, night once again fell upon them. They were both growing tired, but they kept running until they really couldn't go any farther. Ren landed squatting on the ground and Neko-chan hit the ground, gracefully on her paws without a sound. They walked over to a tree and Ren leaned against it. Another dull throb of pain resounded through his back, but it wasn't anything too bothersome. He untied his blanket and pulled it over him. Again, Neko-chan slipped under the blanket and curled up on top of him. They both fell into their dreamlands quickly and slept soundly, with nothing to disturb them but he sounds of the forest. Animals creeping about in the dark, hunting each other down, searching desperately for food. Nothing too different than the slums really, just not as loud.

User ImageRen opened his eyes early in the morning. The sun hadn't even risen yet. He looked up at the daybreak sky, slowly paling from it's silent, midnight shade to it's warm, welcoming light blue. But Ren did't look at the day and night sky as warm and silent, dark and welcoming. They were just the sky. The latter meaning it was time to get moving again, at least that's what the majority of humanity took it as. Why not move around in the night instead? Why? Because people were afraid of the dark. Afraid of what might come sneaking up behind them when they couldn't see as well. Pretty weak-thinking if you asked him. Oh well, what could ya do? Nothing, so why bother spending time thinking about it?
He stood up, waking Neko-chan and making her leap off his stomach in alarm. She ran and hid in a bush until Ren called, "Come on, let's go." With that, he was back in the trees, Nako-chan following just a step behind.
Hours passed by in unbroken silence. The only 'conversations' made were the silent ones he and Neko-chan had between each other. But those had very few words spoke. Ren occasionally hummed a little song to himself, but that was about it for noise that wasn't made by their feet- or paws in Neko-chan's case. He wished he had a CD-player... and some CDs. Maybe he had enough money to get one this time. But he'd have to see about that later, for now, he was close to his destination.

In time she'd taken her share- leaving about half the food on the ground. She'd sealed it in a scroll and would be enjoying it later on. Moving away she left the group to think.

Cridae Kanu

If anything is worth fighting for...

Cridae somehow heard the woman walking away and slowly opened his eyes about a quarter of the way. "S... Sen... Sensei... I... I... Fa.. Failed..." He stammered as he bordered on the edges of consciousness again. Blood continued to seep from his form and into the ground, staining the ground crimson in spite of the dark color of soil. His eyes flickered slowly from a quarter open to closed and back slowly, the blue of the normal eyes being shaded by nearly lifeless gray-silver. He tried to stay awake now that the woman was gone but it was nearly impossible. The call of the shinigami, it was like a song, slow yet audible to his ears. It hummed, calling his name, at first nearly a whisper but it slowly gained volume. There wasn't much time, just as the woman had said. Even if he was healed right now he'd be left with large scars on his arms at the very least. At the worst... Well, he couldn't think of anything off hand seeing as his mind was blocking out all sentient thought and reason. The only thing it focused on was survival, instinctively set to keep him in this world as long as possible. But there was only so much he could take. He had to take it all, it was in his nindo to defend what was worth fighting for. "I failed..." He repeated, more to himself than to his sensei. His body sprawled even further into the ground, if that was possible. It was almost by some form of instinct that he lay on the ground the way he did.
...than I shall be the one to defend it.

"You no-fail mon... we still living... das' all dat' matters mon. Not THINGS- day' just ephemeral ja ja... live fo' whas' really im'potant." He said lifting his genin up with a single massive arm. In some respect he held himself responsible. They where only a short distance from the camp and if he could make it in time- the medicine men there could make short work of wounds like that.

"We move'en out!"

Cridae Kanu

If anything is worth fighting for...

Cridae felt himself being lifted and heard his sensei talking. His mind only deciphered half of what was said so he nodded weakly and felt himself slump into the arm. "If... You say so... Sensei..." He said weakly, trying to get a handle on the situation as much as he could, seeing as he was on the border of unconsciousness. He was weak and he felt his body slipping into the void, or at least his mind was. Swirling darkness and silence surrounded the edges of his mind, pushing in on the portions of his mind that were trying their hardest to keep him from slipping into the nothingness a final time. "Ev... Everyone... Was willing to... Save me... Even after I was such a fool to..." His voice broke off and he looked away, well as much as he could knowing his current position in Buchi's arm. His barely-opened eyes looked to the dark skin of the arm that held him and closed again, knowing time was probably on their side, they weren't far from the village, he was- well now anyway- safe.

"You gun' be jus' fine mon- jus' rest nao little bro'da. Buchi gun'go get you patched right up..."
As he belted out this promise (despite his best effort to keep it between him and Cirdae) he began to lope with all the speed his body would allow- the baby pandas falling into a hot pursuit as he went treeborn.

Cridae Kanu

If anything is worth fighting for...

Cridae nodded slowly as he was being sort of yelled at, or rather yelled towards. He obeyed and rested against the creases of Buchi's arm, his head fitting almost perfectly on a muscle. "I never thought it would be like this... Being carried like some baby... Father... He was right I suppose. About the lot of a shinobi. I guess I need to dedicate myself even further..." Something in the back of his mind registered swift movement of tree-jumping but he didn't feel impact-shocks as one that was being carried would in such a position. Instead it almost felt like being rocked slowly, like he was a baby. He felt his body grow heavy and limp at the same time as exhaustion and pain both pushed along side one another, each competing for a place in his over-taxed mind that drifted back into the ever-growing abyss. In the center was that accursed voice he wanted to avoid at all costs and at the edges were the sounds of the world around him, each calling him in voices he heard like echoes, one against the other and strong. He knew which one he was closest to and he wished for it to remain that way. Buchi's voice was his safety, his sanctuary in the darkness.
...than I shall be the one to defend it.
