"I was going to ask the same thing..." He smiled a bit, glad she wasn't angry at him, yet still expecting it as he walked over to the bed. He couldn't take his eye away from her as he stood there. "I lost track of you int he battle, was worried that you...didn't make it.." His voice trailed off a bit as his smile disappeared and he looked down. "I'm sorry..."

"Not completely OK...." His smile was faint, sad even, as he referred o the bandages upon his head, covering his right eye. "I...I lost my eye in the fight. I'm now blind on right side. As if color blindness was already bad enough." He laughed lightly at the joke he made, but his joy wasnt really behind it. With a sigh, he looked away. "In truth, I'm more relieved that you are safe...I didn't realize how worried I was until I got back from the Netherrealm..somehow, you seemed to have gotten my minds attention since the battle."

It was silent for a moment before she cleared her throat and looked up at him, "You seem.. changed. Much more talkative than before. I can say with all honesty that I did not think you would worry about me like that."

A wry smile coming covering his face, he nodded a bit to the comment. "I think it may be my human side, but..then again, my mother was a demon..who is to say that deities can't feel.." Looking up, his smile became more honest as he looked to her with his one eye."But you are right. Just as I say to Indrid...I have talked more in the past week than in all of my life."

She said smiling and looking up to him as well. Looking down at her wrists she saw that many of her cuts had already healed. "I was taught to know that those of demonic origin were nothing more than evil beings... but I think that is the biggest lie I have ever heard. You are probably the nicest person I have ever come to meet."

His face became shadowed over as some of his hair fell over his face. HE never spoke of this to anyone, and yet, he wanted to with her. He truly wanted to, and he felt he knew something of her that she wanted to keep secret. It would be fair, right? "It is all I have left of him...after he died by my own hands..."

What he said next even surprised him to an extent. "A beautiful name....but to be safe, I'll still call you Eris. We both hide a past of confliction..its only fair we hide each others as well..." He smiled lightly and tenderly took her hand, his eye closing slightly as he looked into hers. He didn't know why, but he found himself caught in them...

As his eye continued to stare deep into hers, he moved closer slowly. She was all that was left in his mind now. No plans, no shadows, just a fallen angel before him that had his heart held fast. softly, his lips touched hers in a soft, forbidden kiss.
