: - {άℓєχάηdѓά} - :

|My allegiance lies with no one, but I am no bounty hunter.|

: - {Traverse Town : 1st District} - :

Alex woke on a hill. She sat up and looked around, wondering why it was so quiet. Only the sound of wind through the tree next to her and through the grass came to her ears. For a moment she felt at peace, calm, finally alright.

There was a rustling noise and she looked to her right. A squirrel fidgetted and then scampered down the hill. It paused and looked behind itself to her, and waited. Alex raised an eyebrow. It seemed to want her to follow. She stood up and jogged after the little creature.

The scenery slowly changed as she jogged, growing darker, more deceptive. She barely noticed, having to keep an active eye on the squirrel as it flitted down the hill. She ran after it into a forest, and continued as it led her into a clearing in the trees. She looked around and saw hundreds of squirrels. None looked at her as she slowed to a stop in the middle of the clearing.

She shivered and reached for her sword instinctively, only to find it not there.

The squirrel she followed seemed to chuckle as all the squirrels around them turned to her. Hundreds of beadly little yellow eyes stared at her. The squirrel she followed chuckled loudly and turned black as a shadow.

Terror rooted her to the spot as hundreds of squirrels -- no Heartless -- creeped towards her, all saying the same thing: "We won't hurt you... Give us your heart... You don't deserve it... We won't hurt you... Your heart... Give it to us... Surrender your light to us!"

The Heartless surged forward, and Alex screamed, her left shoulder exploding in pain.

With a shuddered, pain filled gasp, Alex started awake. Her entire body snapped tense. Her eyes snapped open in pure terror and she lay panting for the longest time. She looked around from her position, which didn't give her a lot of sites to see, and her heart slowly calmed.

She was still in Traverse Town... It was just a bad dream... all just a bad dream. Alex slowly let her body relax and turned her head just enough to see the spear boy from before (Soryuju). "Thank you," she said softly to him, still trying to calm herself down.

It was just a dream, she kept telling herself, even though a small part of her didn't believe it entirely.

| I simply hunt Heartless, nothing more. If you need that, then I am your girl.|

Before Youni could even respond to Aerith's comment, she heard a knocking on the door and, without more than a moment's hesitation, the door opened. Aerith had immediately tensed somewhat, feeling a warmth in her hands- magic that Merlin had taught her, in case she needed self-defense and she didn't have her staff around. However, within moments, she watched as the familiar face of the galactic bounty hunter came into view, looking wounded and seeking aid. The warmth immediately left her hands as a worried smile appeared on her face.

"Have another rough one, Faust?" she asked rhetorically, rising and walking over toward the man, holding her hands over his wound and releasing a small stream of green healing energy.

As she healed the wound, she had to resist shaking her head. "We've been over this before, there's no need for payment," she explained, thinking back to the other times he'd sought her out. She'd recognized him from before the Fall of the First, but he apparently didn't recognize her. She couldn't blame him- she had been quiet, and still was. The bounty hunter would have almost definitely recognized Leon, though, as the male had been a rather playful teen before that happened.

--Of course... he'd been just as playful... but where did he...--

Pushing those particular memories away, she finished healing the wound just in time for Youni's comment to register, causing the healer to give a brief laugh. "No, his eye isn't bleeding. It's just red. Not all red things are bleeding, Youni."

"You must have passed through the main part of the district to get here," she began, turning her attention back to Faust, though with a somewhat more solemn attitude. "Tell me... what happened? Is everyone alright?"

She didn't spot the little girl that had followed Faust.

[First District : Courtyard]

With the defeat of the monster, the older male entered a more relaxed (and yet, still noticeably tense) stance, looking around at the carnage. A few were injured, though most remained healthy. The District itself, however... Leon's eyes narrowed, particularly at the drains. He'd managed to arrive for the last part of the acidic rain, and could tell right off the bat that something that could cause pain to the flesh would do even more damage if ingested... and it was now in the water system.

"Seems I'll need to talk to Merlin," he muttered, rubbing the bridge of his nose. The wizard was the only one in the entire world capable of fixing all this damage, and he might even know how to purge the water system. Of course, to get to him...

--I'll need to borrow Cid's lighter...--

As if on cue, he felt a certain light-weighted hand press down on his free shoulder, only to see a blur of tan and green land in front of him- he'd known Yuffie was about, but never bothered to find her. She always made herself known eventually, so there was never any need.

"Don't you worry about it, Leon, I'll go get'im," she said, as if reading the Gunblader's mind. As he opened his mouth to speak, the ninja raised one of her hands, showing off something small and silver- Cid's lighter. Without another word, the Great Ninja Yuffie gave a cheery smirk and turned from Leon, dashing in the direction of the Third District.User Image

With that, Leon was left to look around at the others. A blond male was healing two others in the distance, but the closest person was the young woman he'd helped to protect from the monster, which even he'd noticed had been targeting her.

"You okay?" he asked, more of a rhetorical question than anything, to the young woman standing a few feet away.

[ F α u s † ]

Character(s): Maximillion Alexander Faust II [Faust].
Status: Fine, albeit uncomfortable.
Location: Traverse Town: First District - Hefin's House.

---

As the soothing green glow of Aerith's healing energy flowed into his arm, Faust felt his tensed arm visibly relax, and savored the unusual sensation of his arm being repaired: flesh being knitted together by invisible weavers, and the strength return to it as the generated blood rushed back to fill the now-repaired veins. As she finished, he stretched it quietly, testing functions, then slowly nodding his head in appreciation; it always bothered him that the girl never asked for payment, although he had never asked why. She doesn't know me - she should demand payment. But he knew she never would: he had recognized upon first meeting her that she was a kind soul, one who would help without ever asking for anything in return.

Which was probably why he was so uncomfortable. Adjusting his cloak so that it was regular once more, he turned his head to thank the healer - and almost collided with a hand, outstretched finger inches away from his eye. His other eye. Swiftly realizing that he had not adjusted his hair [since landing on-world] to cover his eye, he quickly reached up, brushing down the lock that kept it perpetually hidden from the world. Damn it. A surge of hazy memories surged forth - called from the darker part of his mind - but, suppressing them with a ruthlessness brought on by near-panic, he forced a neutral face, and merely grunted in reply to her oddly... neutral... query. This girl - Youni - what is she? Normal people - humans, even - don't act like this... maybe - He cut off abruptly as Aerith laughed and discomfort increased tenfold as the realization that he had not heard that sound in - how long has it been - was brought to the fore. She turned to him then, her face serious and questioning.

"You must have passed through the main part of the district to get here; tell me... what happened? Is everyone alright?"

Quickly rising to his feet, he turned to face the healer - Aerith - that was her name -, and began to relate what little he knew to her - the least he could do to repay her was explain to her the situation. "Not sure - I just got back from Halloween Town, but from the looks of it, it was a large and concentrated attack, possibly by a group of individuals, but more likely from just a small unit of magic-users. The destruction says they're powerful. What I know for certain, though, is that the immediate threat is dealt with, and whoever is behind this, if they've not been dealt with already, is being hunted - tracked - down. This is all from a girl I crossed paths with on the way here - short black hair, with a ponytail, yellow scarf, green and blue clothing, meant for speed. Asides from that, I don't have any other info, although I intend to find out now. Thank you for the healing." Turning towards the door, he glanced once more at the unusual girl, nodded appreciatively to Aerith - and almost ran into a second object, this time another child attempting unsuccessfully to hide behind the nearby doorframe. She was a small thing, and clutched a stuffed toy almost as large as she was. As she began to stare up at him with large, baby-blue eyes, Faust took a small, involuntary step backwards, unwilling to push past the child to get to the door, and - for some reason - meet her clean, innocent gaze.

"Aerith, you have another visitor."

{A heart shed for power is the only heart of worth.}

[Traverse Town : Second District -> Castle Oblivion : Oath of Affliction Chamber]

Nodding to Tsurumi and Diogenes, he opened a Corridor of Darkness just to his side that would lead to a strange, dark and circular chamber within Castle Oblivion. if they were to enter it. Motioning for them to go in before him, he turned to face Zigmund. "Before I allow you entrance, did you or did you not hear my warning to the other two?"

-If Zigmund did overhear the warning, Vereor would merely nod and allow him entry.

-If Zigmund did not overhear the warning, Vereor would give him the same warning, asking him one final time if he was certain about joining.

---If Zigmund agreed to the terms, he would be allowed entry, and Vereor would follow after him.

---If Zigmund did not agree to the terms, Vereor would merely enter the Corridor without him.

Regardless of the outcome, the moment Vereor entered the Corridor of Darkness, it closed behind him, denying anyone else entry.

"Welcome, new brethren, to the Oath of Affliction Chamber within Castle Oblivion, a world caught between the realms of Light and Darkness, and the Headquarters of the Conclave of Ruination" he explained to Diogenes and Tsurumi (and Zigmund, if he followed) as he removed his hood to reveal his black hair, pale skin, and golden eyes. The room itself seemed rather dark, lit only by strange crystallic formations around the walls, each crystal a clear diamond shade, and within a strange energy; it wasn't fire, nor was it electricity. Simply energy.

The lights revealed the room itself it revealed the room to be a perfect circle in formation. The floor seemed to be made in mosaic, made of grays, steel-blues, and dark-blues, coming together to form a strange symbol.

In front of the group was a small set of stairs that only went up a couple feet before a rather grand door. Or, rather... portal? There was a doorframe around a large wall of translucent steel-gray energy that continuously swirled; on the top of the frame was the Nobody symbol. Behind them, another door similar, yet smaller, and instead of steel-gray, the energy was a swirling mix of indigo and crimson- on the top of the 'frame' was a pair of drama masks, one for joy and one for sorrow.

Directly to the side of the second door was a descending staircase that, if one followed, would seem to go down endlessly, tracing along the wall of the tower. After half a 'flight' of stairs, there was another portal-frame (belonging to Zekvyr), which was against the wall at a 90-degree angle. The next, directly underneath the massive portal, was Olum's, and so on every 90 degrees, endlessly. On both sides of each door was another crystal 'lantern', each lit according to the color of the member within. If one went past the Tenth Door, they would realize that there were an infinite number of blank walls in between the pairs of lanterns from then on. All one would have to do is touch the wall, and a portal would form according to the person's presence.

"This room is a way to reach each others rooms, should the need arise, however unlikely that may be; and the person entering must be allowed in. Once a room is claimed by a person, only that person may 'portal' into the room," he explained, his back to the large portal before them. "The portal behind me leads to our Superior's quarters, and the portal behind you leads to my quarters. Every member gets a private area, each room scattered about the castle and unable to be reached by normal doors. The order is descending in the order by which you joined. As such, Zigmund, your door is the 11th; Diogenes, the 12th; and Tsurumi, the 13th."

"I understand this may have been a rush of information, and for that, I apologize," he continued, bowing respectfully, though anyone could tell he wasn't actually sorry in any way. He simply couldn't feel it. "Once you have locked in the rooms as your own, please return here, and I will continue with the tour."

[[Oh God I'm so sorry for this massive post but I had to get it out before it was too late.]]

Colorai stared at the man who had almost run into her and let out a faint whimper. What had she gotten herself into? She decided it was still best not to move. Maybe if she didn't move they would forget about her. She hugged her kitty tighter and trembled from head to foot.

"Xifan..." she mumbled to herself.

User ImageAs soon as Diogenes entered the portal he felt an amazing feeling rush over him. When Vereor finally took off his cloak, Diogenes glanced at him then took in the entire room surrounding him.

Diogenes listened to Vereor speak again. Letting all of the information sink in and be processed.

"Ah very organized, I like it" he said to himself as he walked to the 12th door and touched it. Instantly it lit up and glowed a crimson red color. As soon as that happened, Diogenes turned back around and looked at Vereor

"I must say, this is a very nice place"

Not all red things are bleeding. Youni’s slowly compiling mind filed that fact away just like all the others and nodded her understanding. “Not all Red things are bleeding.” She repeated, confirming that understanding before looking up at Faust again. Noticing how his hair was now covering his red- non-bleeding eye. She found this adjustment of his features interesting. And so, she mimicked it. Taking her own silver hair that parted over her golden eye, the girl brushed her bangs to cover her more natural purple colored one, simply because it was on the same side his red one was. Which of course it defeats the whole reason for doing such a thing! But it was her nature to try.
Youni listened with unprecedented focus to his explanation. Skimming along each line of words and putting them away in sections into the vastness of her untainted mind. This person came from Halloween Town. A Large attack in the main district. Magic users. Threat gone- or being tracked, or hunted. Youni didn’t understand what hunted meant- but she did know what tracking meant. A girl with black hair in a pony tail, with a yellow scarf & green and blue clothing.
Who was this person? What was the threat? What is a threat? Is it like a thing or an object? What is a Halloween Town? – if he said he ‘came’ from it, does this mean it is a place? Like Traverse Town?

As this explanation happened; Youni had opened her book, and was copying this man’s likeness into it’s pages. The lines practically blossomed onto the paper, the colors bleeding into place within a matter of seconds. The picture was perfect- photographically correct in color, depth and realism. Like she must’ve used a camera! The image was complete when she wrote the name Aerith had called him, and it emblazed beneath this mug shot in gold ink. ‘ Faust’

"Aerith, you have another visitor."

Youni looked up from her drawings at these words and finally noticed she had begun to draw this girl when she saw her standing behind Faust, but did not register her existence until someone mentioned it.
Her shadowy likeness was in the corner of his picture, but Youni didn’t think to conceive it was another person she was sketching until now. The top part of her hat and half of her face could be seen peering out from behind Faust in the drawing.
“Xifan.” She repeated when the girl mumbled. “What is Xifan?”

[Hefin]

{The blades don't lead to war, it's the soldier}

[Traverse Town : First District]

Hefin watch as his companions fought the monstrosities that were set against them. He wished that he could have helped them, but he was currently in no shape to be in a fight. Remembring how Harietta had passed away... No, he had to focus on the now. He couldn't let himself become so distraught again. He braced himself and used his hammer for support, and watched as the events unfolded before him.

He was surprised that everyone was fighting the Heartless so well; they fought with excellent co-ordination, despite not having known eachother for even an hour. The destruction of the beast brought him great relief, and he figured he should attempt to spread that relief around.

Hefin turned around and banged his fist against the door to the accessory shop. "Hey, it's Hefin from the weapon shop! It's safe to come out now!

{[Elde]}

"Why does fortune seem to strike the most kindhearted people? Is everything just pre-ordained?"

.:[Traverse Town: First District]:.

Elde seemed to twitch as Sory’s healing took affect. When Alex jumped from her bad dream though she had gently moved Elde who had been right next to her. The small push was enough to slowly send Elde on a collision course with the ground. He seemed to gently touch down though and with a small thud he opened his eyes and used his arm to prop himself up, scratching his still slightly sore head. He looked at Alex next to him, barely remembering having passed out next to her and then looked at the boy healing them.

“Better late than never I guess” Elde said at Sory with a wry smile “But thanks for the healing, I appreciate it… oh and we haven’t really been introduced yet, names Elde” he said this with a sly wink as he introduced himself to both Alex and Sory. He took a quick glance around to see what the square looked like.

There was still glass all over the ground but other than that the worst was definitely gone. “Any ideas who the dynamic duo in black were? Oh and don’t forget that encore presentation with the giant heartless…”

Zigmund

[Traverse Town : Second District -> Castle Oblivion : Oath of Affliction Chamber]

Zigmund was impressed as soon as he got a good look at the room. He hadn't seen designs this intricate since his time at The Garden, and even those were nothing compared to this. Oh, he had defiantly made the right choice coming here.

Those crystals are fascinating. he muttered I've never even seen this type of energy before...

Wanting to see more of the place, Zigmund quickly walked over to the 11th door and placed his hand on it, watching keenly as it became a silvery, reflective surface that glowed with a pale light. After this, Zigmund turned back around and decided he would add to Diogenes' comment.

"Quite. The magics behind this are remarkable. They make several of my findings look like a child's sand castle."

Tsurumi

I'd prefer if you were to just...

...disappear

{Traverse Town -> Castle Oblivion ~ Second District -> Oath of Affliction Chamber}

Looking around the room, Tsurumi followed the other two down the staircase, then passed them to get to her room. She debated about trying to lock in two rooms, just to see if she could, but, watching the others go back up the stairs, she decided that she could always try again. It wasn't all that important to her to find out.

Touching her hand to the wall, she watched the crystals to the side of each door light up in a light green color. Turning her back on the room, she walked back up the staircase. She said nothing to Vereor, merely looking on, waiting for him to continue the tour.

Without receiving an answer, and to worried and impatient to wait, Xifan took off towards the Second District looking for the little girl "COLORAI! Where are you!" Xifan was beginning to panic now and could hardly control his anger at himself. He was so furious at himself.

Stopping to take a breath, Xifan grasped his lance and realized he was shaking. He began to think about what would happen if he didn't find the little girl.

She knew the girl he'd described well enough, but... A concentrated attack by powerful magic users? Could it have been Maleficent? That witch had made trouble before, always taunting them with knowledge, only to try and take their hearts. But as far as they knew, Maleficent worked alone... so who could these people be? She didn't have very long to contemplate the possibilities before Faust attempted to leave, saying something about another visitor. The puzzled look on her face revealed exactly what she was thinking.

-- Two visitors in one day? I'm not even home... --

Taking a peek around Faust, Aerith noticed a young girl in colorful clothing who looked absolutely terrified of them. When both the young child and Youni mentioned 'Xifan', Aerith could only shake her head, having no idea. She knelt down beside the girl, giving her a reassuring smile.

"And who might you be, little one? Are you lost?"

User Image[First District : Accessory Shop]

The sound of the knocking seemed to reverberate throughout the building lightly, as if what he'd knocked on was hollow metal. In face, if anyone had bothered to look closely at the windows, they would have noticed they steel plates where the glass should be, sealing those within in a safe steel shell. However, a few moments after Hefin called out to those inside, the steel seemed to slide away from the windows, revealing the inside of the store (and the grumblings of an older male). The wooden door immediately opened up, and three colored blurs rushed out, running toward the Item Shop and shouting apologies in nasally voices.

"Damned kids locked me in here," muttered the engineer from the doorway, an unlit cigarette in his mouth as he scowled, looking around the district. "Rushed in with the quake and pressed the emergency button before I could get out and have a piece of the action... damned kids."

He spit the cigarette to the ground, having mashed the filter to a pulp in his stress- he'd been unable to find his lighter, which only pissed him off more.

"So, what ended up happening?" he muttered to Hefin. The two had gotten to know one another pretty well, both being older than most of the others on the world, and both being in engineering of some kind. "I saw two guys in black cloaks before the lockdown finished. We kick their a**'r what?"

{A heart shed for power is the only heart of worth.}

[Castle Oblivion : Oath of Affliction -> Commons Area (AKA Kitchen)]

"The place itself is rather mysterious to me as well, and I've been here for years," Vereor explained, once again opening a Corridor of Darkness behind him, though he did not quite step forward. "The crystal torches are an addition by myself and our Superior, as are a few of the additions around the castle, but you'll find that its true properties are far more... perplexing. If you'd please follow me, I'll show you the commons area."

Stepping backward into the Corridor, Vereor entered the area where they'd previously had a meeting. The entire room was colored with the same bright shades of white and gray as most of the castle. On one side, there was the fully furnished kitchen, in the center of which was a rather large circular table. On the other side was a living room-type area, with sofas and chairs. In the center wasn't a TV, however- rather, it was a large translucent sphere, used for surveillance.

One thing Vereor noticed immediately upon entering, though, was a young girl with blond hair and a blue dress lying asleep against the wall.

Mission success, apparently.

Without waiting for the others to come through, he immediately walked over to her and threw her over his shoulder like a ragdoll before turning to them after they followed through.

"This is the commons area. Most of our meetings are held here when convened. Every now and again, we might send someone out to go on a grocery run, but that's not entirely relevant," he explained, golden eyes looking relatively uninterested, or at least apathetic. "This is currently on the 13th and final floor. Each floor is somewhat linear in fashion, with one main area consisting of at least a dozen rooms leading into one another. On any other floor, the entrance into this main area has a large door- if you focus on memories of a certain area, the castle- for reasons even we have not yet discovered- will form a card of manifested memories. Placing this card on the entrance to the main area will completely reform the area beyond. I'd show you myself, but I have business to attend to-"

"Which reminds me," he said, eyes lighting up somewhat with interest as he gazed at each one. "We communicate over long distances through enchanted pieces of jewelry. If you'd please tell me what specific type of jewelry and stone you'd prefer, I can go on my business, and you would be free to explore to your mind's content."
