William shook his head in disagreement. "Lady Latverious, there is too much going through the Lord's mind right now. I believe that if he heard word of some of your.. Exploits, his fate would be sealed before he knew it." He knew what he was talking about. Viktor would feel forsaken by his own blood. Something like that could shatter him, and his fall in battle would be determined by a when instead of an if..

Her shoulders twitched, her head falling low as her image wavered. " You think i dont know that? that i've stained my family name to keep them safe here? I should burn in hell for the things i've done.. and i will, without a doubt. Murder, theft, underhanded trades.. they will have to dig deeper for a level of hell just for me." as she said this her body relaxed, steel sliping into her spin as she looked over her shoulder at him. " and.. i am alright with that. So long as the clan, and father, will prosper and thrive.." I can keep doing this for them. She didnt finish it, couldnt say the lie. she had never hurt a innocent in any way, none of her deals had ever reflected over onto the weak.. but it did not excuse her sins. she felt dirty, stressed to the breaking point. William was.. everything she could not be. he was kind, protected others with light instead of the darkness. hugging herself she simply droped to her knees, tears flowing down her cheeks as she finally admitted the truth. " I cant do it anymore, but papa will never accept what i've done. what will i do then, when those i protect reject me for doing it?"

Having just come form the Cirque De Noir, Thais found her way to a less populated area, she thought. She felt attracted to this place. Much of her travels she would stumbled upon a cathedral or church, and it would feel welcome. This cathedral had a well-mixed feeling. No matter, it would serve as some shelter. Her eyes strained to make out the front door, if that was what it was. It had grown very dark and much was hard to see. She followed the front of the building until it curved back. She found a place in the wall where it dipped in, a nook of sorts, in the architecture. She nestled into it, feeling the cold stone touching her back. It was probably the best bed she'd had in 4 summers. Her flask remained empty as she found no where to fill it. Thais used her pack as something of a pillow, and rested her hand on the hilt of a machete that barely protruded from the bag. It was a small comfort she was happy to oblige.

Banshee walked into the cathedral, the first rays of morning light shining through the stained glass windows. Crossing herself before she stepped inside, Banshee had made her way here to think things over. Not the war, not her relationship with Michael, not her fellow crusniks despite that her deepest love was for them... The aspect of forgiveness. She had gone to Zai earlier to ask her to tell her exactly where Avarice currently was, since when she visited the Keep, he was gone. 'Oy, not to judge ya... All for an eye for an eye, yeah... Shouldn't ya be consistent? Do whatever ya want... don't expect assistance in personal matters, yeah.' Banshee sighed, taking out her pipe and a small bag of tobacco, she reached in and took a pinch of the tobacco and packed it into the end of the pipe. Lighting it and taking in several short puffs, Banshee layed down in a pew, looking up at the large ancient beams and darkened chandeliers over head, watching the smoke escape her lips as she had to remind herself to breath out.

D knelt on the rafter, studying the scene below with intrest.. a grin sliding over his features. Lady Latverious..? His gaze flickered over the girl, his smile growing as he stood and pulled a card from his jacket pocket. He was hired to cause a little mischief, well.. no reason he couldnt enjoy his work. tossing the card he nailed the girls protector, bone claws riseing from the floor to hold him in place as a skeletal dragon dropped over the pair.. its large for claw grabbing for the girl. The irony of it.. a charming little princess, being stolen by a dragon. it was enough to make him rumble in amusement.

Growling in warning she sumersalted backwards, thrown off by the way her skirts caught around her feet. irritated she summoned her sword, the silver and ruby blade slashing at the creatures claw.. she paused in shock as blood splattered her cheek and the bones swung too short. there was tissue covering this creature, invisible but.. there. which ment.. her gasp never escaped her, the creatures invisible talons swatting her to the side and into a pillar. cold power crawled up her spine as she called on her magic, blue eyes leveling on the dragon with malice. jerking her hand outward she called her sword again, raceing forward to slash at the beasts side.

Ah.. she is figureing it out.. he felt the metal bite into his hide, twisting his head down and lifting his tail so he could trap her in.. allowing her blade to connect with his side before lifting his foot and kicking her back into the pillar. ignoreing his weeping wounds he turned his head to study her.. his wings beating down as he considered what would be more fun to do with her. Excuseing the fact that she was Nosferatu.. she was pretty cute. And, to add to the appeal.. she was a fighter. Kidnaping it is..

Before she could recover he shifted to his human shape, his right hand held to mimic the claws strill traping William in place.. holding his other hand out to her as he smiled. " I know you could escape if you wished, Nike Latverious.. but could you leave this shifter to his fate? Come here to me, and i will spare him."

Her body hit the pillar, cracks sweeping up the sone as she sank to the floor.. stunned. Her head hurt, makeing it hard to focus as she heard someone speak. she looked up to find a man, his lips moveing.. his gaze fixed on something behind her. curious she turned to look as well, only to draw up short in horrer. someone was.. inside that thing? and she knew him.. didnt she.. Forceing herself up she inched her way between them, ignoring the crimson staining her hair as she fell into a fighting pose.. stareing at D with cold hatred. escape? Never. the scratchs from his talons started to burn and she hissed, clutching at her side as she shook her head.. unwilling to give him verbal acknowledgement.

This fight was over.. D pulling a power seal from his pocket and speeding forward.. slaming the symbol into Nike's stomach to stun her. it would work fast to seal all of her magic away, and with the head injury.. this could turn out intresting. sliding his arms under her he lifted the girl Latverious bridal style, studying her protector with a grin as he mused to him. " Tell Lord Latverious that if he wishs to see his child again, he will have to find her himself.. Anyone else comes after her, and I'll stake her." a fold of cloth escaped his hand and he winked, smoke hiding his get away as he stole away with the girl. Though he hated to admit it.. her line was strong, if one so young had caused such problems in a simple capture. if she had not been surprised, he had no doubt.. he'd have more marks on him than just this.

"Feeling pensive?" Came a friendly voice from the pew in front of her. Michael, who had been sleeping there, popped up in front of Banshi and gave her a quizzical look. "You usually think when you smoke. Just something I've noticed."

Banshi pulled the pipe away from her mouth after taking in another deep breath. Breathing out slowly, she turned her head, her blonde wavy hair falling down over the edge of the pew, to get a better look at Michael. "....I'm debating killing someone or not." She answered very bluntly, although the look on her face certainly was not one of malice or anger, whatever it was. Turning her head so she was looking back up at the ceiling, she put the pipe to her lips again. "This someone killed a crusnik of ours, one who was weak, who I protected, so she might live a life like the humans of her village. They did not know what she was, so I watched over her so she might have a chance of living a normal life.... But she was murdered, I found her body yesterday and returned it to the village." For the first time in years, she was not wearing her trench coat... The scars freely showed themselves from across her shoulders, and up from the hemline of the neck of her shirt on her chest to the point of her neck. Banshi's face remained the same, and her voice remained monotone, emotionless. "...Her body was terribly disfigured, and she was missing a leg from the knee down. She had been dead a few days. I sewed up her corpse and washed it in the nearest body of water. Her clothing was in shreads on the ground... I wrapped her in my trench coat before returning the remains to the village, so she might have a proper burial from her friends and family there."

Michael nodded and shook his head, he knew. "Does that 'someone' happen to be a snotty ******** with glasses?" he asked bitterly moving to sit next to Banshi

"So you know who I'm talking about." She responded, forcing herself to sit up, leaning her elbows on her knees with her head down, taking in another deep breath.

"James told me." Mike said simply, putting his arm around Banshi's waist and pulling her in to comfort her. "He's been getting really chummy with the doc. I don't approve, but hey. It's his life."

Thais once again found herself standing in front of the one type of place that she always found solace. The Cathedral. She walked forward and pressed on the door, praying that it worked. It did, but she regretted it immediately. There were hushed voices inside. She only caught, "It's his life." Thais quickly shut the door, feeling intrusive. Her feet carried her off to the side of the door, where the outside wall met the steps. It was in shadow. She kicked her feet out in front of her on the steps and leaned her head back. In the dark shadow in which she sat, she appeared unbelievably pale. Once again, as it usually did when she was at a church, the thought of him consumed her. And she liked it.
