Soon, Jillian came back. "Okay, I agree with Arc, it's getting way too late... Let's saddle up and continue. If you are well, Serena, good luck out there!" Jillian said, and everyone hurriedly got their stuff packed up. Soon, they were off again, and everyone started looking weary from lack of sleep. "We're almost there..." Jillian encouraged when Soyala complained about her paw pads.

As usual, Olin stuck to the back. He was becoming less and less of a fan of this group. The demons were powerful because they were smart. They were organized. They didn't spread their plans. At this point he was wondering if perhaps they were the way to go. Maybe he shouldn't be in this group. He didn't like the mass killing, but if it left him free and alive...
((that's right, I'm having him consider betrayal. I'm sick of having no one decent to fight.))

As Calix started following Jillian, he noticed the conflict in Olin's eyes. Calix's time away from people made him that much better at reading them when he came across them. "I know you don't like me Olin and, as I've said before, I can't blame you. But you can't get used to someone until you get to know them. If you want, I'll sit here and let you fire questions at me, and I won't hold back," he offered. He didn't want to be the cause of any friction between his new acquaintances. "Come on, at least let me show that you have no reason to resent me forever," he continued.

"Perhaps once you've saved my life in 4 or 5 battles I'll trust you. Let me tell you, that's not likely to happen very soon. Ask around, I'm deadly in battle." Olin never even turned his head. His eyes were dark and emotionless. He didn't know what he was going to do, but somehow he understood that his destiny was outside of this group. Perhaps he should join the demons until he found out the entirety of what was causing all the demon attacks. He could become an assassin for the demons, working his way up the ranks until he could take out their leader himself. It would be risky, but easier than dealing with a group as impractical as theirs.

Kaitlyn let out a whoop as she saw a pair of gates in front of them. She ran ahead, and touched them. When she touched them, however, a bell-like chime rang out, and 14 angels that looked to be soldiers raced out and encircled Nef.
(Not turning traitor, but I agree with Lycan, there's not enough action nowadays. -_-)

"AT EASE!" Olin roared. He wasn't happy with Nef, but the demon did not deserve this. "He is with us, and he will not harm anyone. Please let us in so we can discuss our mission with the superiors!"

One angel cocked his head. "Mission? We require proof that you are not on a mission to assassinate Lady Iola, and seeing as there is a demon in your group, proof is scant." said the angel.

Calix thought quickly. He knew it wasn't his place to make the decision, but he was almost certain it would work. "We captured this demon for questioning. He won't speak to us, so we thought it better to bring him to the judgment of...higher powers," he said to the guard. "We believe the demons have more than just interest in blood these days. Please, let us see Lady Iola," he pleaded. He didn't know much of Iola Psyche. Just that she was the leader of the angels. He eagerly awaited the guard's response.

"This demon hasn't killed a werewolf, an angel, and three humans. Plus this other girl here. Is that proof enough you ignorant b*stards?!" Olin knew he was pushing it, but at the same time, what he said was true. Demons were known for killing the other races these days, and Nef was traveling with a variety.
"You are mindless buffoons that have no idea what your doing. Maybe they should have everyday angels guard this place! At least they could use their head!"

The guard, keeping his cool now that he was provided by two explainations, said, "Well, for one-" the guard cut off. "I see there is also an angel in your group. As an angel yourself, you cannot lie to other angel's in authority. Is what they say true?"
He turned to Olin. "I apologize, but I have to keep the strictest guard around here, since the demons declared war on us about a hundred years ago. I hope, if what you say is true, you can understand."

Olin glared at the angel in front of him. He goes from people being too trusting to people not trusting the obvious. What is the point in being in a group like this if it doesn't make clear that they are trying to end the war?

Calix panicked. He had just lied about having captured Nef. He knew one of two things would happen now. Either Arc would tell the whole truth and they might be kept out completely, or he would mention that Calix wasn't entirely sure of what was going on, and Calix would probably be detained during their stay. Great way to help them out, you idiot, he thought to himself.

Olin threw his blade up to Calix's throat. "If you lie again, I swear I will kill you," he growled. He wasn't a big fan of Calix to begin with, and now that they awaited Arc's explanation, Olin thought he ahd time. "Nef has been with us since the beginning, and you only a day. If you lie to protect yourself again, while ruining the integrity of one of our members, it WILL be the last thing you do!"

Calix stared into Olin's eyes. For the first time in a long time, he was angry. "You idiot! Is that what it looked like to you? I was trying to help all of you out! I couldn't care less about myself!" he shouted. He knew he what he was saying was true, especially the last part. He just glared at Olin, waiting for his response.
