OMG this morning was crazy. I had my first major assignment in the shipping yard. My boss 247 had asked me to make sure the crates were moved into Sublevel D where he could have direct access to them. Apparently, he is working on a very secret toy that is supposed to be really COOL. He told me that I shouldn't ask him about it cause he wants it to be a surprise and that's ok with me cause I LOVE surprises! heart
Anywho, this morning a big moving transport arrived and on it were a huge stack of crates. While we were craning the crates off into the loaders, one of the cables snapped and one of the crates crashed on the floor. Inside was some kind of mechanical arm! eek
THIS IS SOOOOO KEWL!!! Santa is going to make a HUGE crane arm game!!! Oh, I better keep hush about this... surprises are the best!! domokun
I LOVE WORKING IN A SECRET ARCTIC TEST FACILITY!!! heart

Today's mystery gift: a deck of used playing cards.
I had the faintest dream sensation this morning where I saw my hand reaching into some mysterious pocket. What a strange dream!
--------------------------
My palms have been sweating profusely this entire morning.
Why? It's because I met my new group for R&D today. There's 247 who I briefly mentioned, the workaholic. There's also 101 who has really thick caterpillar-like brows and who is probably the most enthusiastic guy I've ever seen here (he must be happy with his salary). sweatdrop
But why would my palms be sweating because of them you ask? Nay, they're not the reason why my palms are sweating. My palms are sweating because of the last member of the R&D group...
HIM!
Yes, HIM! My muse! My sweet, sweet Him, He who I waste days of passionate thoughts on... Him... ohh my sweet angel love!
He extended His hand towards me in a most hauntingly beautiful gesture after introductions...
My mouth was locked in a cheshire cat-like grin, thank goodness these face masks we've been mandated to wear hid it! And thank goodness my hands are covered in these white gloves so that He didn't feel these perspiry palms of mine when I grasped His beautiful hand for a shake. Maybe this is the start of a beautiful friendship... I feel so giddy...
After that brief moment of sweet reverie, we began to work. Our duty was to unload crates from a transport. Pretty ho-hum. Following a pasta lunch, 101 happened upon a mechanical arm of sorts in one of the crates; he thinks it's for a crane arm game.
I love crane arm games! heart

My pile of etch-a-sketches have been reduced by .8", they sit depleted at the corner of my work bench against the equally spaced tick-marks of black ink I have inscribed on the wall. Every half-inch, or 125 completed pages, is interrupted by dark red; I can see a previously covered crimson dash, guiltily revealing itself again, the pages leaking downward, already halfway to the next.
I suspect the bespectacled, quick-fingered elf in the cube next to me. From my intimate vantage point, I have seen him hard at work not at the assembly line, but practicing making various objects vanish and reappear.
I have been reassigned to manufacturing by Elftech247, blueprints and materials have been provided for this solo project.
The shoe is to be encased with lightweight titanium, lined with poly-paraphenylene terephthalamide, and padded using the finest faux rabbit fur available. This design ensures hours of comfortable bunny-hopping down sunny fields littered with dandelions or shrapnel.
Trampoline soles allow for an upward trajectory of seven to ten feet on concrete, and five to seven on freshly fallen snow. The range of the demanded sizes astonished me, from delicate matchboxes fit for a bouncing elfling, to mini-submarines that could be gifted to Santa himself!
The footage of the ship yard accident stirred within me a vague interest. The impact with which the claw hit the ground suggested a metal similar to my own Material-of-the-Day. The panic on the faces of my tech-mates failed to move me, not because I did not perceive the "toy" arm as a malignant sign, but because I could not understand why they did not consider the gift sets full of chemicals equally as disconcerting.
Without knowing why, I rewound the video to watch it again, and by the third or fourth go, I realized that I was not looking at the mechanical arm, but gazing intently at the image of the formerly joyful elf in profile. I watched as the ample brow rose up in shock, and joined the hairline to create a gentle, pleasing black slope.

This morning there was an accident in the warehouse. I couldn't sleep well last night, probably because of much pent up chakra percolating in my Solar Temple. When I finally awakened this morning, it was released into a mass of focal energy and thus caused the crate to spontaneously liberate itself from the crane. I convinced the crate to fall, much like how I convinced Rick Jagger to sing for the Rolling Pebbles many decades ago with my psionic astral energy! I must be very careful with this sekret.

good - bad .. sinful - pure .. these are judgments constructed in the mind .. born from conditioning, not from awareness or mindfulness .. only through mindful being can we ever hope to achieve right action.
Mr. Claus is a better man than i by far .. the 'list' this year has been made, but not yet checked twice .. i have been with Mr. Claus in years past .. as he checked the list .. wise and understanding .. weighing without passing judgment .. this year he is so busy .. i can only hope i am elf enough to have done half as good a job.
now it is late .. this long day has made me tired to the bones.

His mind in constant offense to protect his hollow truth.
Arms stiff from repeated, restrained, repetitive motions. Hands trembling, fingertips cracked and oozing.
His song ended on a malicious note as he left his cubicle for lunch and didn't return.
Two hundred pairs of moonshoes, accepted in the afternoon, but marked next to the name of 7 2 2 . Quota, quota, quota, the day resets to zero and I start again.
His frosted glasses don't blur his eyes enough to hide that they never. meet. mine.
Eighteen hours. Almost, almost; almost, almost.

"From days of long ago, from uncharted regions of the universe, comes a legend, the Legend of the Amazing Elf, Master of Magic, a mighty magician, loved by good, feared by evil..."
Last night I was witness to the legend himself...
I was dropping off some forms for my boss 247 when I noticed that he was talking to 722... at first I didn't think anything of it, but then I noticed that 722 pulled out a deck of cards. Not just any deck of cards, they were Johnny K. Gambino's Gold Mountain Special Trick Edition Playing Cards!!! I WAS SOOOO EXCITED!!! eek
I then saw my boss 247 grab a card out of the deck and watched while 722, no, the AMAZING ELF, masterfully shuffled and played with the cards!!! My dad used to take me every weekend to Johnny K. Gambino's Gold Mountain to watch the weekend shows of the Amazing Elf, I could recognize his shuffling style anywhere! There was no mistake, I think he IS the Amazing Elf!! I wanted to get his autograph, but my boss 247 saw me and handed me another stack of shipping forms to handle. So I spent the rest of last night filling them out. crying
Anywho, so this morning I was trying to get the new crates in to Sublevel F, and it happened again. One of the crane cables snapped again, spilling out the new "super drencher 5000" that 247 told me would be arriving. Man, they really make these water guns look realistic nowadays. xd Well, good thing we got that new crane arm yesterday, these cables are starting to get unreliable... Oh, that new girl that just transferred in um, 138 i think... I don't know where she is... she was supposed to help me move the crates in this morning.
Ah well... my dad once told me that people who rely too much on others never get anything done themselves... so I guess I should finish up for now. sweatdrop

If one had, for discussion purposes, an infinite amount of money and a infinite years available, would it be possible for one to select only the smartest grunnies and keep breeding them generation after generation until you obtained some kind of rilly smrt grunny with opposable thumbs and a well developed frontal lobe that was capable of sentient thought, self realization and self introspection??

The Grimoire of ElfTech 571 Thursday, November 17th, 2005; 3:21pm
My oh my, was 247 in a foul mood this afternoon...I'm getting packed off to Durem to report on which kiddies have been naughty and which have been nice. The whole "peeking-through-the-windows" bit always turns my stomach a bit (you wouldn't believe what some of these kids hide under their beds) (no, you really don't want to know).
I was actually looking forward to a night's ramble about the place...the accident down in the loading dock this afternoon piqued my interest. I know we're not doing heavy weapons platforms, or at least haven't been in that business for a few years...so it was with quite a shock I saw the notices about the gatling gun and the grappler spilling out into the loading yard.
I guess I can figure out, there's only one big bit of heavy hardware we've been working on, recently...no mystery there, is there?
I'm supposed to be taking the 4:55 reindeer ride to Durem, but I don't want to freeze to death on the way, nor do I care to die of boredom. More elven magick. Translocation is such a pain, especially over long distances.
