Well, I was going to go to bed, but now I'm filling this out. Eheh!
Name: Sheryl
Preffered Name: Micarst
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Birthday: 02/02/1986
Location: Dubois, Indiana
Availability: Generally between about 4pm and 12am, EST.
Likes: My kids, my husband, stability, chess, roleplaying, furries, World of Warcraft, Disney movies, fantasy novels, most music I've ever heard (lol), chocolate soy milk, kitchen-witchery, most movies except psycho thrillers.
Dislikes: Asparagus (allergies!!), particle board, cheap plastic junk, FDA-approved chemical additives, aggression, balloons getting popped, potty training failures... expensive things breaking... I could probably go on and on and on.
Religion/Philosophy/Beliefs: My husband and I are both liberal pagans. He's on an intuitive spiritual path, where he sort of gleans knowledge from the universal consciousness as he goes. I'm more eclectic- I've tried out several different aspects of being pagan, but I like to choose my practices from many traditions instead of just one. We want to raise our children to be aware of themselves and the world around them, to not pay lip service to other peoples' concepts of divinity just because it's popular. When they choose their own religious paths, we'll support them in it, same with their sexuality.
I don't really agree with the idea of entropy, I just think that energy always becomes something else. Which is why reincarnation seems so likely to me, though I don't think each soul maintains much individuality after death. I also tend to believe strongly in karma, because it's the first thing I think of when something good happens to me. (As in, "luck didn't have much to do with it!") We aren't vegetarian- yet, but we buy a lot of organic things at the store. Instead of viewing my past pregnancies as accidents, I look at it like this... children that are meant to be born
will be born.
Lastly (for now), I feel that names have a lot of power, and by thousands of children being named "John" in the world, their personal power is somewhat lessened. That in part is why my sons are Cendan, Rowan, and Merlynn. At least I can be reasonably sure there won't be two Cendans in his class.
Bio: I was born in Henderson, KY and have pretty much been moving ever since. I just can't seem to put down roots. Part of that is because when my parents divorced, my mom shacked up with a guy, sold our house to buy an RV, and proceeded to drive us through most of the eastern states, selling junk at flea markets and operating games at carnivals and other obscure activities. I was home schooled all that time, up until 6th grade. By the end of 9th grade I realized nobody wanted to learn in the public school system, so in 2002 I got my GED and started attending college full time.
But, I let myself get tangled up in a bad romance and lost sight of my life goals. After a few years of repetitive transience, I met my husband. He proposed two weeks into the relationship, and though I said "yes" right away, we delayed the actual ceremony because we wanted everything to be satisfactory. Which it wasn't in the end, but that's a long story!
My sons are 3 (Cendan), 2 (Rowan), and not-quite 1 (Merlynn). Sometimes I want to rip my hair out trying to maintain some semblance of order and discipline around here, but their sweetness and manners more than make up for it
most of the time.
I have two older brothers, the eldest working on his second marriage out in California as a lawyer, the other getting ready to remarry down in Kentucky before he gets activated (he's in the National Guard).
