ZonkotheSane Shoujo Kakumei J-chan And Zonko: This is kind of late, but I know a LOT of politically left-leaning religious Jews - but they _all_ disagree with their party lines when it comes to foreign policy in the Middle East, especially Israel. and "gay rights", abortion, euthanasia... alot of what the left goes for is kinda blatantly antithetical to jewish belief I know a lot of people who don't necessarily agree with you. But I think we had this argument once before. When I say left-leaning I do not mean Democrats, because none of them are Democrats, I mean Libertarians. Actual liberals, not pansy-a** liberals. neutral I know very few religious Jews who vote Democrat because the Democratic party is so full of crap it's not even funnym and it's sad because the Libertarians or any other third party that makes any sense will never get these other war-mongering jerkoffs out of office unless they keep royally screwing up _over_ and _over_.. Oy. But anyway. Not hijacking the thread. ¬.¬;; My mother isn't so much for me marrying a doctor as becoming one. I'm just far, far too lazy for a pre-med program. Maybe in grad school I'll pursue getting all the medical credentials to become a hospital social services worker or some such thing. I'm also vaguely considering nursing school.

You can measure in anything and get into med school. In fact, Med schools will look highly upon you majoring in something else because it shows not only your flexiblity, but also the fact that you are intelligent enough to have 2 main interests to handle. Plus, if you major in History, that's mos def going to stand out among the Chemistry/Biology comformist students. Seriously...Major in what you want, it has no effect on getting you into Medical School, and it might even help you! wink

YvetteEmilieDupont KrazyTerry darkphoenix1247 Completely! sweatdrop I feel rather bad, actually. I don't know what I would do in the event I did fall in love with a goy; I know it would never work because of the religion difference, as he would have to want to convert of his own free will, so I guess I would have to find somebody else. It'd be rather sad, though. xp My mom and grandmother have drilled into my head since I was something like 5, "Marry a nice Jewish boy, who is sweet, kind, intelligent, treats you like a Queen, makes something of himself, etc. etc." Pretty funny, actually. Ahahahaha.... yes, all Jewish mothers seem to do that... ^_^ If you fall in love with a goy, eh, not the end of the world, just make sure he respects your religion and knows that any child you bear will be Jewish so he better deal with it mrgreen The advantage to being a woman in this religion! my grandmother wanted me to either become a cathlic nun or to marry a nice cathlic guy ... and i'm going to end up marrying a jewish guy.. yea... sweatdrop I don't mind ^.^. lol I totally understand how you all feel about being presured to marry from a certain group of people. I don't know, I mean I use to really really care abou thtis guy daniel, i think i've talked about him with everyone. I almost loved him, I really almost loved him. But because we didn't have the same views on religion it definattly held me back from taking the leap from caring to love. I'm just glad I found the guy I have. ^.^ I think everyone can find the right guy as long as you're realistic and take a few chances, by chances I mean. Give the guy you think wouldn't totally be your type and talk to him a little bit. Most of the time you might not find that winner, but I say if there's a chance do it. (I don't say date him, just maybe hey talk a bit about morals, and what you think is right) ^.^ yayness.. >.> did that at all make sense¿.. dude it's upside down.. how'd i do that.. SHIZNIZ I'm awsome^.^¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ ha ha you do shift + alt then question mark muahhaa Woah, you just totally found a shortcut for me!!! (usually I have to do alt+168 to get it for spanish, thankies!) Yup, I got it... ^_^ And you're allowed to not seriously date in high schol, so I plan on using that

Lady Pocky ZonkotheSane i think it's great how a bunch of =<16 year olds seem to know so much about relationships Now, do I detect some sarcasm here? Zonko, so what? Is it a horrible thing that we have opinions? Why can't we have an idea of what we want our relationships to be like, or how w e know what to look for when we're older? And with some other people how to appreciate and deal with what they already have? darkphoenix1247 Completely! sweatdrop I feel rather bad, actually. Yea, I have that, but it's not really the pressure from my mother as from myself, one of the recent quotes was: "You know Lyz... If you have an A/B avergage at Westminster, they allow you to take some Academic classes at Princeton. You know Princeton has Hebrew 1, 2, 3, and 4... How's that? Taking Hebrew with some nice Jewish Princeton boys? Hmmm?" My response was something around: "Mmmm, sounds decent." For those who don't know, by Westminster, I was referring to WCC, Westmister Choir College which is five minutes away from Princeton University.Oh really? *starts to count Princton as a possible good college* Hmmmmmm...

Some people like it, but I feel dating should be more meaningful then simply just to be in a relationship. sweatdrop

Not always, but I will agree that most of the time, that is true. If the two people involved are mature enough, then it probably could work out. Then again, high school is usually inconsequential in the scheme of life, as much as any high schooler will refuse to admit. blaugh

What is the purpose of doing things with no purpose? What meaning do one-day flings or boyfriends you don't intend to keep have? sweatdrop Sorry- I don't mean to be rude, but I disagree with you. sweatdrop

The whole point of judaism is to teach us the opposite. We put off short lived enjoyment for a bigger, and more satisfying future.

Again, agreed.
It's quite strange when you see girls simply going out just for the sole purpose to say that they've had a boyfriend or something. Personally, I don't think it's really worth it; I'd prefer to save things like that for somebody who actually matters, rather then some silly week long crush. sweatdrop
