It wasn't long before he'd regained conciousness. Confused he sat up and looked about the room, his mind was still slightly numb from the sheer lack of blood so even the shadows that dance along the wall seemed to pop out at him and further his befuddlement. Hesitantly he looked down at his arm, hoping all that had transpired was in fact a dream, but much to his dismay there was is arm, a gaping hole through it. With a sigh he tore up a portion of his already tattered sleeve and wrapped it around his arm as best he could. The blood quickly seeping through the material. Once done he looked towards the front of the church, where he'd seen Kittie last, but alas, she was nowhere to be found.
He closed his eyes and leaned his head up against the altar behind him, his mind felt as though it were slipping from him, as he went in and out of conciousness, the bandage he'd made was doing little to stop the blood from pouring. He opened his eyes again and this time chose to stand. He wanted to find kittie, he'd seen her before he'd lost conciousness earlier and was rather concerned. Thanks to his jesters healing, his wound had begun to heal itself, though not as fast as he liked.
As he stumbled around the church, his blood littering the floor beneath him with each step. After awhile searching he came upon her, sitting quietly in a splintered pew. Her clothes tattered and losely hung from her shoulders. With a smile he sat down next to her, his one working arm wrapped around her, pulling her in closer. With her head leaned against his shoulder he kissed the top of her head. "Heeeeeey. You okay?" he asked curiously. With no response from his lover he squatted down infront of her and kissed her lips playfully. "See, i'm okay. I'm just a little damaged." He said as he swung his bloody arm about. " ow ow ow, okay. So, that was a bad idea." With a smile like that of a child's he sat down on the cobblestone floor before her, his legs crossed and his hand atop her knee.

For a few moments, she saw nothing as he approached her, though she heard the soft hissing as his blood spattered onto the marble flooring. Her ears perked up a bit as she felt his presence nearing, though she continued to stare into the emptiness before her. A slight smile touched her lips while the rest of her face remained blank.
His lips upon her head warmed her body from the inside out though she still remained in an almost paralyzed state. The shock was wearing off, slowly.
Blood in almost every form and fashion, she could handle. The blood of a loved one, violently splattered on her, soaking her...that, that drove her mad. She didn't know why. She just couldn't stand it. She mentally could not deal with the event whenever it occurred, though she could not remember when it started. Something must have happened. Something. Her mind shut down. She blinked. The only other time she knew it to have happened was with Sapphire, but she knew it had happened before. Where?
She could feel his lips on hers. It was like a little shock of life that spread through her to return her mind to its rightful place. Her eyes danced with laughter at his silly, though painful, antics. She shook her head in amusement, though the movement was so miniscule it could hardly be seen. His hand atop her knee, she lovingly ran her fingers through his hair.
Without a second's transition between the feelings, transparent liquid identical to the color of her eyes slowly made its way down her cheeks. She didn't know what she'd do without him. She didn't want to know. The thought tore at her though she didn't know why it did so now. He was there with her, sitting right there and yet she couldn't fight the pain of the thought that ripped through her. Falling onto her knees before him, she threw her arms about him in a soundless cry and held him close as her tears fell, the protective layer of magic still spread thinly upon her skin.

With arms flung about his shoulders, his beloved weeping into him, he could do nothing but hold her close and smile; his fingers gently running through her soft hair. His lips gently touched her cheek, and then her lips, as he tried to make her feel better. With just a look upon kittie face, it became painfully obvious, that she was scared, he looked deep into her eyes and could see the fear that plagued her mind.
Tsurui pulled her even closer, her head now resting gently against his chest, the soft beat of his heart, echoing in her mind. "I'll always be here, and always be yours. No one can change that...ever." He whispered softly, even without her telling him, he could see her fear, her yearning for his pressence. He held her protectively in his arms, his head leaned slightly against hers, her hands holding his arm against her.
Time had passed as the two sat together, Tsurui's once gapping arm now healed. He turned to her and kissed her nose. "Mm, lets get you some new clothes. Can't have you running around like that." He said with a smile. Before she could even respond, he'd disappeared into a room a few feet away, the faint sounds of him rummaging about and talking to himself could be heard. A few miuntes later, he jumped out wearing an oversized priests cloak along with a few other dingy numbers. He walked back and forth, before her, as if he were a model sporting some strange fashion. "What do you think, love? Is it me? I dunno though, i think it makes my butt look big." He said with a giggle, as he flopped down next to her. "I mean, even I'D be embarassed to wear stuff like this, and i already dress like i'm nuts." He paused for a moment and giggled. "Riiight, i AM nuts." He sorted the clothes out and handed her what he figured were womens clothes. "At the very least, if you don't want to wear this, we can sleep on it." He said with a smile, still wearing the oversized robe, the ornate pope's hat upon his head, leaning to one side, covering a portion of his face.
"I kinda feel like i'm wearing a dress in this robe, i mean it's huge. I could probably use this as a blanket." Tsurui paused again, and laid his head upon her lap, his body curled up in the thick cloth of the robes, his eyes closing sightly. "Mmm, smile for me sweetheart. Everything will be okay, i'll always be here, and always be yours." His knees were tucked up against his chest, as his arms were wrapped tight around them.

"Always," the word echoed in her mind, resonating in her thoughts. "Always," she said, the word slipping past her lips in a barely audible whisper. "Always," he said, but the word could not take away her pain, could not sooth away her insecurity.
Her heart felt as if it were being torn apart by her own hands. No matter how much she wanted to believe in his words, there was something in her that wouldn't allow it, fought with her to doubt him. The arms that held her so lovingly, that fought so hard to protect her, could not stop her heart from tearing itself to pieces.
The tears that trickled their way down her stricken face slowed. They stopped.
She watched him walk off with eyes so pained they were almost empty. She tried to smile. The result was the look of a shattered doll with cracked and painted lips. She just couldn't do it.
Seeing him emerge from the room decked in a priest's outfit, a half strangled laugh came from her throat as the tears began to well in her eyes once more. The clothes before her, a bit of her old self returned as she eyed the clothing with a look of distaste. They just weren't her style. Running her fingers over the cloth her mind confirmed her eyes' statement. She wouldn't be wearing them. She absolutely refused.
Her mind lost to the unsuited outfit she returned her attention to find Tsurui on her lap looking so much like a child. It wasn't until she touched the black silk of his hair that she noticed that she had begun to run her fingers through it.
Looking into his eyes, she tried to oblige his request. Her eyes shut tight.
She hadn't the strength to do what he asked of her. All she could do was sit, braced, as a wave of emotions crashed against the walls of her heart. "I love you," the words echoed in her breaking heart as her hands clutched at him desperately, trying to keep herself afloat.

With a sad smile he sat up, and cradled her in his arms. Her cheek resting against his shoulder. He knew his antics had done nothing to improve the mood, and yet he persisted. With arms wrapped about her shoulders, he fell silent and just held her. With a free hand, he petted her softly, his fingers gently running through her hair.
Slowly, he moved them both closer to a wall, where he leaned up against it, and had her sit next to him, still holding her close. "I love you." His eyes filled with utter devotion and conviction looked deep into hers. Using the robe he'd be wrapped in earlier, he wrapped it around them both, and huddled closer to her. With a sigh, he kissed each of her eyelids, the satly taste of the tears, leaving a tinge in his mouth. For once he did not know what to say, instead he chose the only path he knew, and that was to remain silent, and hold her.
A few hours had passed, and it was once again night. The cold air drifting in from the surrouding forest. The marble floor they sat upon offered no comfort; wearily he opened his eyes, realising he'd fallen asleep. With a smile he wisked his love off the floor, after a bit of searching, he'd found a suitable bedroom for them to stay in. After setting her down on the bed, he closed the door and lit a few stray candles that littered the room. He laid down next to her, unsure if she was truly asleep, but still wrapped his arms around her, holding her close to him.
"I don't know what to do, i'm sorry you hurt so much." He said as a few stray tears trickled down his cheeks, to fall upon her lips. "I always want to be yours..."

The daylight hours waned and the sun set. The dark of the night enshrouded the building as the darkness let slip those creatures of a nocturnal nature. The marble flooring felt cold and hard beneath them. She had not moved during the course of these several hours.
Kittie remained mute, sitting, arms about her lover's neck. The broken down building echoed her silence while the crickets in the surrounding forest sounded their presence, determined to break through the hardened atmosphere within the church.
Her face was pale in comparison to the moon which shone brightly through the cracks of surrounding walls. None of the rays touched her. Shadows created by the eroding dome of the ceiling above them consumed her body.
She felt numb as her lover swept her off the floor and laid her upon a bed. The light of the candles did nothing to fill the void that claimed her eyes. She could feel his arms around her and the warmth of his body as he held her close. Her heart fought against itself as he spoke his words.
The warm touch of a tear upon her lip spread fire throughout her body. Without thinking, her mouth flew to meet with his. Her arms wrapped themselves tightly about him. The liquid of her eyes spilled to fall hot and freely down her now flushed cheeks. Always. Her heart spoke the word in a single beat. Always. The word wrapped itself about her body. Always. The word laid itself out in her mind. "Always," she breathed.

Tsurui just held her close, as she kissed him sweetly. Even after spending so much time together, each kiss from her was like the first, the same sensation, the same longing feel. His body warmed at the touch of hers, her soft sking caressing his cheeks gently. Even her tears felt welcoming, as they flowed down her cheeks freely, each drop softly landing upon his arm, the arm which only hours ago, was gaping wide, spilling with his toxic blood.
Kissing her lips once more, before pulling away he looked upon her glowing face, the tears that fell helped add to her overall radiance. The candles flickered their last and in an instant the room was dark once more. The moon which hung weightless in the night sky, cast it's dim light upon their room, the brilliant beams seeping in through the cracks in the walls and ceiling, adding an almost dream-like state to their crumbled and decrepit room.
"Suddenly, things don't seem as bad." He said softly, still holding Kittie in his arms, he looked out through the cracks in the wall; out to the forest next to them. The world felt so calm, so peaceful, like nothing ever happened. As if they weren't being hunted, that no blood had ever been spilled, just peace, nothing more. He looked upon Kittie, and with a sigh kissed her lips sweetly. Even in the dark he knew exactly where his lover's face was, and quietly he began to speak to her. "If i told you, that i wanted nothing else in the world, but you. That the only blood i wish to spill is of those who wish to harm you, would you still accept me?"
Tsurui fell silent and smiled softly, very confident about what he'd said to her; he knew what he spoke was what he truly felt in his heart, and nothing could change that. Not now, not ever.

"Of course I would still accept you. Silly goose." Her eyes shone with laughter and danced with a carefree air as she looked up at him, just as they had when they had first met. She kissed his nose lightly, her eyes reflecting the love she held for him as she stroked his cheek.
With the mood so tranquil now, her body chose to remind her of her untended raw and aching skin. Wincing, she felt the sting of the chafing fabric and though his touch was soft it stung as well. Breathing out a stream of translucent, light green magic, she twined it about her fingers to spread salve-like along her exposed flesh. Quickening the natural healing process of her body, her skin regrew its burned away layers. Fresh and new, her arms, face, stomach, legs, and back now shone the same pale and brilliant shade of the moonlight.
She stretched her arms to the walls of the room and smiled, the bright blue of her eyes creating a striking contrast against the soft, near white of her healed flesh. "Mmmmm," she purred as she ran her fingertips along an arm from her wrist to her shoulder.
Nuzzling up against him she snuggled into his arms and closed her eyes. It had been such an exhausting day. She wished for nothing more than to fall asleep laying nestled in his arms for the rest of the night. The business of her still tattered clothing could be left for the morning. A hand lightly pressed against her lips, she let out a half squeaked and tired yawn before letting herself fall into the gentle embrace of the unconscious.
