She chuckled, "I see. The truth comes out. You never were worried about my health, just getting rid of your girts one way or the other." She grinned teasingly and took a bite out of her apple.

"That's right. Take a bite of eggs so you don't have to answer me." She took another bite of apple and leaned back in the chair. "I don't suppose you had anything you wanted to do today, did you?"

He shrugs non commitally, and takes a spoonful of the grits. he doesn't eat it, just.... eyes it.

As she was speaking he moved fast and put the spoon in her mouth, with a small triumphant grin. They really were bland beyond all belief, but there was an odd... tang.... that she would not have tasted if there had been any real flavor.

He sulked and pushed away his grits, leaving his spoon in the grits and picked out another bite of egg. "I hate the food here," he mumbled.
