Rose blinked, obviously not knowing what was going on, but she was quick on the uptake, and she realized that there must be some reason why Miyu was taking the children around, and not Celebor himself.
"We'll see him another time," she smiled at her son, picking him up and hugging him tightly. "Don't you worry. He's going to be living here, right?"
Aras nodded. "Daddy said we're all going to be living here from now on," she explained.
"He said it was better for Mama, too," Ruque added, "because there's people here ... good people."
"Mother didn't like our trainer very much," Kanis added sadly. "I don't know if Father did or not, but ..."
"They didn't like Aras's friend at all," Ruque said with a frown.

Miyu was now curious, she wouldn't have thought that Aras' friend was a problem, but if they thought so there must have been a reason behind it. She wished she could say something about that, but she didn't know a thing about it.
She shrugged helplessly.
"I do not know much."

Rose smiled warmly. "That's all right, we should just have fun together, all of us."
Ecthelion cupped his hands around Rose's ear and whispered something, and Rose smiled at him and nodded. The boy giggled and turned to the others. "Do you guys want to go to the river and swim?" he asked brightly. "It's really warm!"
Ruque looked uneasy. "I don't know how to swim," he admitted, twisting the base of his tunic in his fingers.
Aras lowered her eyes and didn't say anything.
Kanis put one arm around Ruque's shoulders. "Maybe we can learn to swim here," she smiled comfortingly. "Father says we can do a lot more here than we could in our old home."

Miyu also had never swam before, so she wasn't so certain, but she really wanted for the children to have fun.
"I'm sure it's alright if you're all watched.. maybe the mers can join they'll make sure you're all alright."

"I'll be there as well," Rose smiled. "I'm not doing anything that can't wait. Come, I'm sure even Aragost will come with us."
Ecthelion clapped his hands together. "Yes! Aragost, will you come with us!"
Aragost dipped his head forward slightly. "I would be glad to join you," he said softly. Of course, he wouldn't be swimming with them, but he would keep an eye on them.
Kanis's eyes grew large. "Like Corrah does with us," she breathed.
Aras frowned at her sister. "Don't be silly, Corrah isn't here and he never taught us how to swim."

Miyu winced, comparing the two did not go over too well with her. To her they were very difficult, but of course the children didn't know that.
"Well... maybe then we can all learn," she murmured, "I don't know how neither..."

"Adanedhel would be the better teacher," Rose smiled, "he should be back soon. Maybe you could all just stay in the shallows until then?"
"I'm a good swimmer," Ecthelion boasted. "I can go in the deep water!"
"No, you're not," Rose said firmly, setting him down on the floor now. "And I'll be there to make sure of it."
Ruque looked a little less nervous at the thought that they would have others there with them who could watch over them, and he tugged at his ear nervously. "Then ... we can swim?" he asked shyly.

Miyu nodded at this, though again there was something about the way Ectheolion was that made her giggle.
"Yes, I think it is safe for us to swim."
As long as they stayed in the shallows of course.

"This way!" Ecthelion beamed, running back out of the house. "Come on! The last one in is a smelly skunk!"
Ruque looked up at Miyu worriedly. "Can he actually turn us into a skunk?" he asked. "Because sometimes people can make people into different things, Papa says ..."
Rose giggled. "No, he can't. It's just a saying. But go on, have fun."
Ruque sighed with relief. "Okay." And then he hurried out after Ecthelion, chasing after him towards the river behind the house.

Miyu help usher the other children along, she wouldn't mind if she was the last one. She knew it didn't really mean much, and she just wanted to make sure none of the children were left behind.
"Go on... mi.... it'll be fine," she assured Aras who seemed to haven't really left her side.

Aras nodded up at Miyu and reluctantly pried her fingers from her dress. She liked swimming, and she was probably the only one of her siblings who actually knew how - to a degree at least ... but ... it just made her sad at the same time. She and Rhea had gone swimming a lot together ... she wished he could be here too.
Rose walked with Miyu as they followed the children outside and behind the house. "So how is your family?" she asked warmly as they went. "I hear your grandmother is expecting a child ... is everything all right with her?"

"She is just fine," Miyu murmured softly, "Perhaps will have to lighten her work load soon."
Though that might just make her grandmother bored, she had already stopped using any sort of magic (not that hse used it often anyways).
"Sometimes she craves things at certain times, but Grandpa induges her... but I think he always has."
Which was probably his soft spot.

Rose giggled. "Well, I think that goes for any good husband," she said warmly. "Adanedhel always got me whatever it was I was craving ... no matter what it was, and no matter what time of day it was."
She walked with Miyu to the riverside and took a seat on the grass. It was a beautiful day ... perfect for this sort of activity.

She took a seat beside Rose, looking thoughtful. That was true, her Grandpa must be a very good husband. Miyu watched the children and smiled hoping they would all have fun.
"True...."
Deep in the water, lurked a creature, well not so much of a creature than a little child who couldn't sit still if her life depended on it. All the talking from yesterday had left her very active, which made it wiser to leave her in the river... somewhat supervised (well she would have been if she didn't go off chasing fish... again).

The children were already splashing around in the water - at least somewhat. Ecthelion was having fun going as deep as he dared without facing his mother's wrath: Kanis and Ruque were standing ankle-deep, getting used to the temperature of the water.
"Come on in!" Ecthelion giggled at all of them. "Come on, Aras! It's fun!"
Aras let go of Miyu's dress and unclasped her cloak, letting it fall to the ground. Then she took off her belts, setting them with her cloak - they would only weigh her down after all - and sighed sadly. She wished Rhea were there ...
"I'm coming," she said softly, walking into the water. She didn't pause like her brother and sister to get used to the temperature - indeed, she didn't even feel the difference in temperature. To her, it was a nice warm bath.
