I'm pretty much excited to finally come back. My job this summer is turning my brain into sludge- I even got WoW to deal with the strain. Also because it's awesome, but hey!

I think you're confusing the term parenting with the term animation of the inanimate. Joe would not be a parent at all, in that case - he would be a magic-wielder of some kind.

Okay, Venom wanted some constructive feedback on the matter of what else we need, so I'm giving it a brief shot.

How has magic affected the world? Do we still have nations? How has everyday life changed? Are organizations similar? Are there still standing militaries from nations and not from alliances? Can they interfere with anybody?

What programs, groups, or constant processes are there that destroy lives? What of these are there that build up lives, pamper people? Are they the same? I.E., does the Cabal rely on slave labor, or run concentration camps, or take political prisoners? Do the Hunters take political prisoners? Do the Tyrgani assassinate people, do they execute people? Do the Outlanders take people's souls, or damn them to Hell?

Things like that. How personal are the various magical entities? Are there important inventions in day-to-day life? Is magic a day-to-day thing? Are there lots of magic users, if not many particularly powerful? How many are recruited? How big are the armed forces? What do civilians do? Are there different jobs that should be noted?

I updated my page on the 27 wiki! So exciting. I've also been cleaning up the pages with grammatical/syntactical errors (which are incredibly rare, I just happen to be reading Eats, Shoots & Leaves and feel like being a grammar/punctuation NAZI). Congratulations to NativeForeigner for being the only person with zero, count them, zero edits from me. This is almost exclusively because I haven't visited Jacob's page yet.
Let's see... I think, proportionately, so far, Venom's contributions are the cleanest, followed by Joe's, followed by SirBayer's (although that's mostly because of bouts of VENOM FILL IN MOAR PLOT), followed by... that girl whose name I can't remember right now. Agnese? Yeah, Agnese. Venom, is it okay if in the massive quantities of free time I have I fill in what I know about the various dead links you have? Also, I'm still figuring out the decidedly lazy (but extremely useful) version of encoding EditThis uses, so if stuff on my page is screwed up, lemme know how to fix it.
