Jessica nearly flinched at the knock on the door. She glanced back at it, then turned back to Peter with a small grin. "Well...let's hope it's not beating still."

Peter smiled back, not that she could see it, and moved to answer the door. "Alright, alright," he said, pulling it open with an air of exaggerated patience, "We have now steeled ourselves for melodrama central. Lead on."

"Right this way, sir, miss," the butler turned to lead both Spiderman and Jessica to the dinning room.

Spidey exchanged a look with Jessica, then followed the man, trying not to let his nervousness show in his posture.

Jessica followed suit. She followed closely behind the two, and tried to keep her mind occupied on other things. Anything.

Spidey and Jessica were led into the opulent dinning room, complete with crystal chandelier. Served at the table for them and Doom, who motioned them to sit down, "Please, join me."
Servants pulled out chairs for Doom, Spiderman, and Jessica. Once all three were seated, the dish covers were removed to reveal sarma and baklava.

Spidey shifted uncomfortably in his seat, and spoke up in a deceptively cheerful voice. "Sorry; I never drink when I'm in costume. Or, you know, when I'm in the spooky castle of a super-villain."

"An..... on-the-job motto, I take it.... Very well," Doom turned toward the butler, "Get whatever drink that Mr. Parker wishes."
The butler bowed and turned his attention to Spiderman.

Doom began eating, "First off, I'd like to know who had been fighting you and doing God's knows what to young women. I cannot tolerate that sort of activity going on so close to my subjects."

Spider-man didn't hesitate. He didn't want her powers to come out, much less her relationship to him, but if he played this right, they wouldn't have to. He'd be able to set Doom on a rival organization, and they could tear each other apart for all he cared. "I didn't get a very good look, but I'm pretty sure that they were experimenting on her."
