Gossamer wrapped her arms around his shoulders as he picked her up. She felt herself blushed a bit after he spoke. Cared about her...well she hadn't heard those words in...well she couldn't remember how long it had been. "Don't worry." she said with a small smile.

"Oh, and by the way, some of these things that I say..." Joker said as he walked, nervousness touching his voice, "I mean them, but I DO have a bit of an image to uphold, a character I play the part of, if you will. And that character is how people view me. And I want that. And although the character feels the same things I feel, that character will never admit to caring about anything beyond getting Batman stuffed and put up in the den of my home. So if I neglect to say some things in public, or when I behave differently, it's me in character. The character that I'ved lived life as for so long, I can barely remember life without it. The character of the Joker."
(( Joker gets introspective... ))

Gossamer's smile grew a bit. "I understand. You have an image." she said softly as she moved to kiss his cheek. "I wasn't exactly born with the name Gossamer."

Joker grinned a bit as he reached the hidden door. No buzzer... Where was that back-up? There's the buzzer pad... ten bricks down, two to the right... There. Joker kicked at the brick he was eying with the toe of his shoe, and it gave slightly. The door slid open and the lights clicked on. Carrying Gossamer, Joker continued to walk. "Well, maybe in time, we'll tell each other our real names. No one knows mine. No one but me."

"Mines been dead and forgotten for years." she said with a small grin. Actually it was more like one rusted badge and about a years worth of paperwork. Still, everyone thought she as dead. Couldn't exactly do a DNA test on ash to see if you had the right body or not. Come to think of it, she had a habbit of death escapes.

"Same here, as likely as not," Joker said. No one knew who he was beyond the Red Hood, and it took them ages to even put THAT together. He hadn't even been Red Hood since he fell in the chemicals...

Gossamer smiled slightly and opened her mouth to say something. There was a familiar tingling in the back of her mind, and she felt her jaw clench shut. She didn't even bother to wait to see what Jade wanted, no did she bother closing her eyes to hide the seconds glow of red. The mental firewall went up. She was not in the mood.

Joker caught the red glow, and stopped. "What was THAT about? I mean, I've heard of seeing red, but THAT was new. Care to explain?"

Gossamer blinked a moment, then blushed slightly. "Just...light headed and can't control my spells properly. Some of them I'd rather not have accidentally slip, so put them in a bit of a mental box. Nothing with them can happen unless I take the box away." she replied.
...wasn't a complete lie.

"This one...kind of works on it's own..." she replied. Now she was starting to wish he'd just take her down and head out. This was not what she needed. She may have found a guy that honestly liked her, she didn't need to scare him off because she had another...actually two other personalities that were both male.

(( This guy hangs out with Two-Face, the Mad Hatter, Scarecrow and Bane, plus has his own slew of issues. I'm pretty sure he could handle that blow xp ))
The Joker continued to walk and finally reached the bedroom. He laid her down on the bed, and said, "Now look, it's a matter of professional pride for me to know when someone is hiding something. Maybe you don't think I can handle it. I've been shot in the face, stabbed in the chest, fallen twenty stories without a parachute, been in a plane crash in the middle of the ocean, and had a building fall on me. The closest thing to friends I have are numbered among the most criminally insane people in the world. They have split personalities, disassociative disorders, revenge issues, trust issues, drug issues, problems from when they were children, and all different levels of madness. I promise you, I can take whatever you throw at me in stride." He kissed her forehead, and said, "But we'll talk about that later. I got a job to do. You rest, and maybe think about what you're going to tell me when I come back. Okay?"

// Yeah, she doesn't know that though. lol Ah, we kind of forgot about Rosie too. whee //
Gossamer looked at him a moment, then melted into a small smile. "Alright." she replied quietly. After a second, her usual smile returned. "Oh, if you'd like, perhaps you should add a messenger fee along with my interest. I doubt he'll be very pleased about it, but I'm sure understand eventually."
Rosie had managed to make it to the bedroom and to the closet again. Ugh, still had the mess with the jackets. Well, she could easily clean those up. She paused a moment and glanced up at the others. Well...easy enough once she found something to stand on. She heard footsteps and her head shot towards the doorway. Clothes would have to wait. If she wasn't anywhere near the closet, maybe they wouldn't notice. She quickly put the crowbar back, though unknown to her, on the opposite end of where it had been. She then closed the closet part way and hurried over towards the other end of the bedroom so that it looked like she had been hiding in the corner. She felt her arm hit something in the pocket of her dress again. Crap, the gun. Forgot about that. Well, her dress was poofy enough, they shouldn't be able to tell she had anything in her pocket. At least she hoped not.

(( I love Rosie. Joker's gonna wanna kill her until he finds out WHY his stuff was messed with. Then he might want to adopt her or something. This girl's right up his alley ))
Joker's smile returned. "Nah, wouldn't want to ruin my first impression by coming off as greedy. I just want to be creepy, psychotic, and maybe a little trigger-happy. Greedy really isn't one of my personality quirks. I just like to have money so I can keep getting supplies for my weapons and traps. As you've seen, I don't spend it on food... Heh heh heh heh heh..." He walked to the door and said, "Don't wait up for me." But before he walked out of the room, he caught sight of Rosie. Had she been in there the whole time? Instinctively he looked around, and spotted a major problem. His crowbar was on the other side of the closet. His gaze turned towards Rosie, and his eyes were the very picture of murderous intent. "Why did you touch my crowbar?" He went to the closet, picked the bloody instrument up and walked to about three feet away from the girl. "...Why...?"

// lol Maybe he'll actually get to see her in action sometime.//
Rosie's eyes widened when she caught the look in his eyes. Oh crap! The one thing she could use...was apparently the last thing she should have grabbed. "Sorry..." she replied timidly, staring up at him and trying to press herself as close to the wall as she could. "Mommy said to stay away...so I ran in here and hid in the closet from that bat guy..." she said quietly. She wasn't sure it telling him that she actually used it was a good idea. Then again, if she had simply knocked it over when she hid, it would have been on the ground instead of propped up. Crap...
