I scooped Teddy up yet again - sort of unwilling to break apart from his body - and carried him to the door, across the threshold, and setting him down outside. "Gimme a cigarette," I demanded of Kit. "I haven't had one since I was alive and I've had an insatiable craving." I began to walk to the Laughing Corpse with my hand outstretched.

Teddy laughed as he was carried outside and again as he joined the arm outstretched march. But something caught his eye on the way and he stopped, looking up at a flier. "Um, guys? Uh... this seem weird to any of you? I mean, this really looks like Sam." But she wasn't missing. They'd just seen her today.

I skipped over to wear Teddy stood. "What is it, lovey?" I asked as I gazed at the flier. I saw the resemblence between the photograph and Sam and stopped dead, adopting only the stillness the dead - or undead - can. "Impossible," I said. "Kit, faster with that cigarette."

"okay okay," i puuled one out for Markus and my self and offered one to teddy as I lit ours. I looked at the flyer in confusion and interest, "Maybe we should go see who this person that is looking for her is, get an idea of who he/she is."

I took a very long drag and let the smoke out around the cigarette, holding it in my lips. I continued to gaze at the flier, willing the picture to change. "I think Kit's right," I said, nodding. "Teddy, you up for it?"

Teddy shakes his head at the offer of a cigarette. "My parents even think they smell one of those on me and I'm dead. I don't know if we ought to get in Sam's business... we kind of... maybe made her a little mad already today. But I guess we can't just not say anything..." Teddy wasn't really sure what they should do.

The person who afforded the fliers must have been provided for, since there was one on at least every window. It read: HAVE YOU SEEN THIS PERSON? [Black and white picture of a Sam replicate in what appeared to be army clothing, and two smaller mugshot pictures, one front, one profile] Eye Color: Hazel Hair Color: Terra Cotta Age: About 20
Insubordinate, resistant. Strong sense of justice, strong belief in karma.
If seen, contact [[insert random phone number here]] or [[address]].

((For those of you that read the books, please let me know if I make any further errors with any of the races. I went back and fixed the two times I'd assumed vampires were cold and without a pulse, but I'm still only a few chapters into book one and might still make errors. Thanks in advance; I appreciate it.))

((It's alright... Because some people do not read these books, I expect there to be errors like that, because of so many different takes on vampires. However, the one thing that DOES stick is that sunlight kills them, and holy objects DETER them.))
"My God," I said. "These flyers are all over the place." I glanced around to see Sam peering at me from every shop window. "I wonder who put them up. Maybe if we find out who it is, we can talk to them, see when they noticed she went missing, last place they saw her.... et cetera..." I trailed off, worry beginning to taint my features.

"That's what bothers me about it. She's not missing at all, not hiding or anything. And you'd think if she was just plain lost and people could be looking for her, she'd say something about it. If we talk to this guy, I don't think we should just out and out tell him where he might be able to find her." Teddy almost felt like he was contradicting himself, but this wasn't the same as letting Sam make her own decisions. "At least not until we find out if she wants to be found or not." He rips down the flier; there are more than enough of them up anyway. What if other people who knew Sam weren't as bothered by the fliers as Teddy was? Maybe he was just being paranoid. It could just be a worried relative or something. It sure seemed like something his parents might do.
