Unlike Brindle, Seph took a slightly different approach when it came to carrying back food. Being one of the smaller cats in the pride, he couldn't actually carry that much weight, so instead he carried small portions and moved quickly. This was his usual process, and he'd likely continue it long after the others were finished. He was a persistence creature by nature, and he never left anything worth bring back behind, at least not for long.

Grumbling slightly, Gado continued to pace back and forth. "Perhaps something in the water supply..." He muttered to himself, still trying to decide what could cause cats to betray one another.

Just then, his ears flicked as he caught the sound of paws heading in his general direction, though they were still a bit distant. Catching a familiar scent on the wind, Gado stood smartly to attention, his ears turning slowly this way and that like antenna, as he searched for even the smallest sign of unfriendly creatures entering the lands nearby.

(( *preforming CPR on the RP* ))

Bianca laid at the den opening, her stomach rumbling a bit. Her ears twitched from time to time, listening to the grass shifting in the breeze. Sophia trotted past her, Bianca assuming she was going to use the bathroom.

"Only to the edge, dear," Bianca said softly, seeing Sophia look back and nodded. Bianca watched Sophia's little body hope down a few rocks, but suddenly it looked like Sophia was pre-occupied with some type of smell.

Bianca stood up as she heard the grass shift move than the wind would make it do and a moment later Sophia was abdupted into the mouth of the hungry hyena.

Bianca roared into the den in that very slow moving instant. A roar the other denwatchers knew as to stay in the den and protect all the other cubs. It wasn't uncommon for a group to ambush the main den when other denwatchers were out chasing after another hyena. Bianca had changed the former tactics to stop this from happening.

Bianca lept off the den opening and landed in front the the Hyena, letting out a deafening roar that rediated for miles as she stood before the familiar leader of a local hyena clan.

"What did I say about crossing MY TERRITORY!" Bianca swept her claws deeply into his flank to make him release Sophia, who laid in his mouth surprisingly still alive. The hyena leader yelped as blooded sprayed, dropping Sophia and leaping out of harms way of Bianca's incoming jaws.

With the cub free and the hyena making a break for it, Bianca ripped her claws into the ground and tackled the leader down, tearing at him with her claws and jaws barely holding back. His blood soaked her white fur as she placed her jaws around his thoart, preparing to tear his jugular free when Sophia squeaked in fear as two other hyena's entered the scene.

Bianca lept off the leader stood over Sophia, gripping her claws into the dirt. She wanted to sheck Sophia's condition, but if she was going to give her a chance of surviving this ordeal, Bianca could not let her out of her cover for an instant. That's all it would take for the hyena's to pick her up and take off with her.

Bianca roared, growled, eyes vicious and bright as the two circled and the leader began to get himself up. Bianca knew there were much more to their clan, but these were the leader, his female, and his second. It was odd for these three to be waiting on getting a small cub for a meal.

The white fur, splashed with deep blood and the dark brown stripes, stood on end. Hopefully, the hunters would be back soon or the outriders would help.

Another territorial roar echoed.

(( BTW: I don't want Sophia to die or anything. Then Bianca would have to be emo. Yuck.

I just wanted to show off her skills a little and give us some more action. ))

Kiros' ears perked up and his head whipped around as he heard Bianca's faint roars in the distance. "Brindle do you hear that? It sounds like it came from back at the den." He said as he whipped around to look at brindle as he spoke to her. "What do we do?" He asked abruptly. He very much wanted to rush off no questions asked but he also thought it would be best to arrive in a force of numbers. "What ever was going on in the den, if it was an attacker, would be diminished in numbers." He thought to himself, his thoughts raceing through his mind quickly.

((Oh Oh I can use this Kiki, or rather, Raiden can ^^ you mind?))

Brindle focused on the sounds in the distance, frozen where she stood, waiting for something that would betray what was happening. It came in the pained cry of a hyena and the tigress dropped the food she held, roaring a command to her hunters.
"Back to the den! Hyenas!" With that she shot away, dry dirt flying from her claws as she ripped the ground apart.

Raiden turned in alarm to Bianca's roar, reacting almost instantly. He raced to her aid, landing a heavy blow to one of the hyenas who was attempting to sneak past the tigress. The poor beast was sent flying and Raiden chased it, pinning it down as it tried to scramble away.
The hyena wimpered in pain and fear, its cries falling on deaf ears as Raiden finished it without mercy.
This was perfect. Yet another scare to weaken the pride. Raiden turned with a vicious snarl to face anymore intruders.

(( Ooc: Not at all! ^^))

Bianca whipped around in time to see Raiden take down one of the three that was about to attack her. In the confusion, both of the other hyenas took to the chance to get at Bianca as one more chance before they would flee. They both jumped at her.

Bianca turned her flank towards one at it had gone for her neck and stuck the other with a deafening blow that sent in tumbling as the other hyena's jaws dug into her side.

Kiros rushed off a few seconds after Brindle gave the command. His stride was almost matching Brindle's as he ran in full spint, quickly moving his legs in unicine to optimise his speed. Adrenalene started to flow through his body again, just as it did when they were hunting. Kiros did not particularly like this because it made him not quite as carefull and cautious as he normaly would be.
Kiros continued on through the grasslands emerging from the forest and cutting through the grass with ease.

The Hyena that had managed to sink its jaws into Bianca wouldn't remain their long. Leaping down from a low rise Gado tackled the Hyena from the side. Despite the cat's age and size, he was well muscled. Giving a feral growl Gado shot forward, sinking his claws into the Hyena's back. He didn't take his eyes off the spotted foe to check on Bianca, lest it take the chance to get away, or worse, strike back.

The first thing Seph thought was You've got the be kidding. He was all for protecting the pride, but his kind weren't exactly well equipped for a head on fight. Despite their small size they were capable of taking on much larger prey, but prey didn't often have claws and fangs to fight back with. He sighed and picked up speed, still carrying the meat he had, this was another advantage to his small carrying plan in his mind. Those already fitting were probably going to need this real soon.

((random side note, but hyenas are actually matriarchal, one of few animals who are. And sorry for not being on, life and homework. And, I'm gonna go ahead and appologize for any future week-long absences, as school's getting harder with more hw...))

Calyn, upon hearing the roar, shoved the apprentice off her and ran to help, almost stopping short as she saw a fourth hyena slipping away. But, there was something in it's mouth... Her eyes widened as she recognized the small lump of fur, a cub who frequently snuck outside of the den. "Tami, get Sophia inside, and then come or send Zephre." she said quickly, eyes landing on Raiden. "Raiden, there's another!" she didn't wait for a response and went after it, ignoring any stiffness from her leg and racing after the hyena and it's prize. They were scavengers, not made for chasing down prey. So long as it didn't kill the cub before she reached it...

Tami ran to the others and the hyenas, darting over to Bianca. "Got her." she grabbed the scruff of the cub's neck and fled into the den, amazed she herself hadn't wound up hurt. Then again, the hyenas had been preoccupied. She looked over the cub, praying she wasn't hurt too bad and she'd know what to do.

Raiden turned to the other cat's desperate call. His growl rumbled forth like grating stone and he raced forward.
A flash of white appeared at his side, it was the healer.
“Calyn! Stop!” Zephre’s voice had lost all of its gentleness and would have made anyone who new him freeze with its commanding tone. He continued after the hyena, relying on his ears and the steps of the cat beside him.

“Out of the way fool!” Raiden snarled but the white lion ran faster. He passed the outrider and caught up to the hunter second.
“Its got a cub hasn’t it.” It was a statement more than a question. “Calyn its too dangerous for you, let me and Raiden handle this.”
Fear gripped Zephre now, if the hyena decided to use the cub as a hostage he knew he could not act.

Brindle could see the den now, and two hyenas fighting wildly as cats began coming to Bianca’s aid. Then one broke away, chased by her second and she let out a frustrated growl. This turned into a gasp of shock as Brindle saw what the beast had dangling in its jaws. A cub.
“Hunters, cut off the escaping hyena!” She cried, altering her course to help the den leader.

((Yeah, I knew about the matriarchal thing but decided to let it slide, hey, if anyone’s interested in big cat current events this little clip from BBC is of three white lion cubs just born in the Kruger national park.

With Sophia safe from the picture, and the hunters were appearing out of the sorner of her eyes, Bianca attacked the hyena alpha that had started it all to begin with. Witha sprint and a leap she was on him, roaring her roars.

Bianca stared hard at him, breathing in heavy growls. He stared back blank a moment before biting into her neck. Bianca roared in pain and flung him off of her. At this time she noticed a few of the pride going after another hyena was another cub.

Furious, Bianca grabbed the retreating alpha by the flank and dragged him back under her. "You have choosen this fate!"

With that she tore into his throat, ripping the life from him. She announced his death as a small victory, pickingup his body and flinging it towards the other hyenas the seemed to have stopped a the leaders death, mostly including the female.

"If I ever find anyone from your clan in my territory again I will personally destory your own young." Bianca hissed at the widowed alpha female as she was being attacked by one of the other cats of the pride.

She stood as a symbol, drenched in both hers and hyena blood, but for the most part that of the one she killed. Breathing deadly she watched the scenes unfolding before she ran to make sure Zephre and Raiden could save the cub.

(( Ooc: I'm not really sure whos fighting what... so wheee!!!

Anywho, I'm sorry about my lack of animal knowledge. My bad... but the baby white lions are so cute!!!))

Calyn's ears laid back as she heard Zephre, though she slowed to a stop only after he'd reached then passed her. She watched Raiden race past, and heard Brindle's command. A growl of frustration slipped out, and she slowly headed back to the den and the others. She couldn't do anything to help, no one would let her at any rate. Even Zephre was, and he was blind.

That I can do! Seph thought as he leap out into the open. Landing right in front of the Hyena. Making the loudest sound he could he let all his fur fluff up and once and raised his tail. He wasn't the best at fighting other carnivores, but he could at least manage to look as threatening as possible. Hopefully he'll turn the other way and run into the others Seph thought, not exactly confident about his chances in an actual fight.

Gado continued to hiss and growl as the Hyena tried to knock him off by kicking, bucking, and on several occasions rolling. All the while the fierce old cat clung on with all his might, digging his claws deeper with every chance. The Hyena suddenly stopped as it noticed the death of its leader. It stood there, stunned for a moment. Not wasting the chance, Gado leaned in, clamping his jaw on the Hyena's neck and snapping it. Still got it He thought pridefulyl to himself as he turned his attention to the one that still remained in the range of his sight.

((I'll just puppet this last hyena and end this if its okay with people.))

The hyena slid to a panicked halt as Seph appeared out nowhere to block his escape. Zephre slowed behind him, his face contorted in an angry snarl.
"Let the cub go." He growled softly.
The hyena's eyes darted around wildly, then he dropped the cub as if she was something very hot and lunged for the gap between the two cats.
Zephre felt the wind rush past his face, making no move to stop him. He had left the cub after all.
"There's no need to follow," he said to Seph as Raiden came up to them.
"Why did you let it go!" The liger roared, eyes blazing with fury.
"I think there has been enough bloodshed...Raiden. The cub is safe."

For a moment Raiden looked as though he might drive his claws into the healer's side, then he regained a bit of composure.
"Where is that useless scout assigned to this direction?" he spat before stalking away.

The cub lay curled in a ball, and squeaked as soon as Zephre touched her shoulder with his pink nose.
"It's okay little one...I'm here, you're safe now." He lay down beside her and gathered her to his chest in one massive paw.
Zephre turned, looking through Seph with his blind eyes and motioned toward the den.
"I'll catch up." He said quietly, "if you could tell Tami to start treating the injured back at the den for me?"

((Ima going to have to see who is still active I think, our char list is getting a little out-dated.))

Thela had been trailing behind the others, and was much farther away from the main den when she heard Bianca's roar.

Startled, she burst into a run, powerful legs propelling her forward faster than normal. However, the situation had resolved itself, more or less, by the time she arrived.

"Hyenas," she thought bitterly to herself, lips curling up in disgust. Several of their corpses lay about, and their stench filled the air. Apparently they had come and gone a different direction than she had approached. She came up to Gado's side, assessing the situation. Bianca was there, bloodied from the fight. Thela gave a sidelong look to Gado, a silent question for what had just happened. Hopefully no one had been killed...
