DreadPirateRampant 4. when my sis saw him without the mask she said "that is so nasty, put that thing back on!" She was afraid of a sunburn? I've gotten bruises worse than his face. Like the times I fought people who badmouthed Winslow.

Honestly, I was not first introduced to the story of The Phantom of the Opera through the 2004 movie. I was aware there was a book, but I found out about it through an older PBS TV series called Wishbone. All I remember from that 30 minute version was the sandbag nearly falling on Carlotta.
And for the '04 movie, Patrick Wilson is a more talented singer than Gerard Butler. Of course, Patrick Wilson is a Broadway singer and has more training, so...

welcometomyhell Honestly, I was not first introduced to the story of The Phantom of the Opera through the 2004 movie. I was aware there was a book, but I found out about it through an older PBS TV series called Wishbone. All I remember from that 30 minute version was the sandbag nearly falling on Carlotta. As was I. I don't remember anything except for Christine being kidnapped and thinking, "OMG PotO = heart ". And this was back in the day when I was a major teratophobe. I think PotO's influence single-handedly turned me into a teratophiliac. There's no other explanation.

Honestly, I dislike it when people dislike Raoul for useless reasons. And about half of this thread consists of just that.
He loves Christine, and would give away his live just so he could free her. He was a genuinely good person, and was always looking out for Christine.
Erik's obsession with Christine is only cute until he starts to kill people because of it. Don't get me wrong, I love Erik, but the fact is, if you're going to bash Raoul for reasons like 'stealng' Christine away from Erik, and being a 'fop', then you'll need to take into account all of the horrible things Erik has done.

Pengy, as I find in other fandoms, if someone is a fangirl of one character, if any wrong is done to said character they will throw away all reason for that wronging and blame the other characters and hate them.

But what bothers me more are the people who have only seen the 2004 movie and say they hate Raoul because Erik was "hotter". stressed
